For years upon years I've frequented a smaller mom and pop nail shop and while they do excellent work, I absolutely dread going because it's a common understanding for all customers who visit that you'll need to have an entire day set aside to sit and wait. It is always full to the brim. Last Saturday, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try Classy Nails on Bluebonnet. Immediately when I walked in the door, it felt more like an upscale spa. It was quieter, the lighting was more dim, and there was an entire back room full of huge comfy pedicure chairs. I asked for a pedicure and was immediately led to the back and got comfy in one of the chairs. I was given this expansive menu to choose what services I wanted and offered a beverage even! I didn't get the lady's name who worked on my feet, but her attention to detail was outstanding and she must have massaged my legs and feet for what seemed like 10 minutes! My polish job looked great. My feet felt great and I truly felt taken care of. All things that are somewhat suspect and not always consistent at the local shop I usually frequent. The icing on the cake was that I was there for an hour and 15 minutes and that's it! It wasn't rushed, but I was able get on with the rest of my day. We just moved and I needed to try a new nail salon. I called and they were able to schedule an appointment right away. They said appointments would get seated before walk ins. Perfect! A few things I noticed that was different than the "normal" nail salons: the place itself was very classy and decorated nice. It felt like a spa. They had a "bar" set up with all of the scrubs and lotions. So you knew it was fresh every time. I really liked the chairs, the massager worked great. They also had a stand to rest your leg on when they were working on the bottom of your feet. I was overall impressed with my experience. The people that work there are very nice as well. I'll definitely be going back. Also, for reference. I got the basic pedicure which was $36 and for gel they charged $15 extra. So I paid a total of $51 for my pedicure. I live very close this nail salon and have been waiting for months for it to open. I have actually been waiting to get a mani and pedi just so I can go to Classy Nails when they open. I finally found the time today and to my dissapointment I was met with unwelcoming faces. Nobody smiled or greeted me until I said hello and the guy asked what I wanted. I stated that I wanted a mani and pedi, the lady said something to him, he looked at his watch and said 40 minutes. No thanks!! For a newer establishment I expected way better customer service. I felt as if I was bothering them. Most times I would give a place a second chance if I felt as if my initial experience was misconstrued, but I can say that this will not be one of those times. I normally wouldn't leave a negative review about customer service, but I feel this one is necessary. I decided to visit Classy Nails on Bluebonnet for a pedicure today. I walk in and was immediately greeted by a nail tech. She asked me what would I like to get today, and I replied,"I'd like to get a pedicure, please." She then instructed me to go wash my hands. I wash my hands, and another nail tech who was performing a pedicure, told me to pick a color, and showed me where to sit. I sat down, and waited to be serviced. Another nail tech approached me and offered me to take a look at the menu to decide which pedicure I wanted to get today. I made my selection and handed her the menu. A nail tech came maybe 3 minutes later and put the protective liner in my foot tub and told me, "just rest your feet here and I'll run the water in a little bit." That seemed odd to me, because any other salon would run the water and have you wait a few minutes. I didn't think much of it, so I continued to patiently wait for my service. 15-20 minutes pass, and by this time, two pleasant ladies who I saw talking in the parking lot before I went inside of Classy nails, had walked in. They also wanted pedicures. A nail tech greeted them. Handed them their menus and proceeded to start their foot baths. That same nail tech also offered them a Sprite or some water to drink. She turned towards me and I made sure to make eye contact with her. She nervously said, "hello, how are you?", and then she asked "would you like a pedicure today?" In my head I'm saying, "why else would I be sitting in a pedicure chair?" I didn't want to be rude, so I replied, "well, yes, I'd like a pedicure." She says "ok. Which pedicure would you like?" I again, told another nail tech my selection. She says "ok." And walked off. Keep in mind, there's still no water in my foot bath...she proceeded to go over to the station and prepared the items needed for the two ladies who came in some time after I did, and put the items by their chairs. I waited to see if she'd prepare three, since I had been waiting a while now, and she didn't. I simply put my sandals on and walked towards the front of the salon to leave. A male nail tech asked "you're gone??" He may not have known what happened since it was a different area of the salon. I kindly responded "yes. I'd like to spend my money elsewhere.", and walked out of the door. I will never visit this salon again, and I DO NOT recommend ANYONE to visit this salon; ESPECIALLY a brown person, like myself!! Edited to add: she did end up offering me something to drink, but I wasn't interested at that point. read more

I have had terrible customer service before, but this may take the cake. I believe the way in which we were treated was racially driven. Upon entering the salon, we were greeted and asked about services desired. We both wanted pedicures. We waited some time and then we were directed to the seats in the back. We sat at the seats for ~20-25 minutes before a cover was placed on the bowl. We then waited another 20-30 minutes before one of the employees started the water. The water was cold. I asked politely if she could make the water warmer. She reluctantly attempted to change the water temperature. The water exiting the faucet was still cold so I ask again at which point she states, "This water doesn't get warm at this seat" and then as she is walking away, she states you all can switch chairs (regarding my husband and I). During this transaction, a pair of white females come in and are immediately directed to the chairs. Their bowls are prepped, and water is started. Soon thereafter (within a 3-5 minutes), each of these ladies pedicures are started. Meanwhile, I am still waiting (one hour later) to get my pedicure started. At this point, I dried my feet and exited the salon as did my husband. For context, we were at the salon ~1 hr and 5 mins prior to closing which makes the ladies who entered and were serviced before us at the salon ~5-10 mins prior to closing. This is ridiculous and I will report to the Better Business Bureau. read more
