My granddaughter was visiting from California and got stuck here due to severe fires back home, making it impossible for her to return until the day right before school started. Desperate to get her nails done before heading back, I reached out on short notice, and Carolyn was kind enough to fit her right into the schedule. Not only was the shop extremely clean and everyone working there warm and friendly, but Carolyn's talent is simply incredible. She took the gift card with her to the back. When she came back, she handed me an empty envelope. I told her there was no gift card in the envelope. She claimed that it was in my pocketbook. She then searched my pocketbook and did not believe me that I didn't have the gift certificate. One of the other workers went to the back room where the envelopes were and discovered that that is where the gift certificate was. She had placed it back there when she went back to get the envelopes. I understand that mistakes happen, but there was no apology for the fact that she insinuated that I stole the gift card. I was so humiliated infront of the other customers. This was not good customer service.

Best pedicure I've ever had and I always get the basic. They do a hot stone massage that makes you want to fall asleep! They always take their time, you're never rushed. I wanted rainbow nails for my birthday in June and they didn't make me feel like I was asking for too much (other salons in the area do). You pay higher prices, but it's so worth it. Ended up getting regular pedi nothing special. Using one fingertip up and down my leg is not considered a massage. I looked on Yelp mobile after returning for my run, and this was the first spa on my list. It was 6 blocks from my hotel - or a 2 minute uber ride. Located in the basement of the Plaza Hotel, I felt like I was going to some venetian oasis. I noticed that besides the massage and skin care areas, they also provide manicure and pedicure. Side note: The elevator down to the spa is by their restaurant, which at least their brunch looked droolworthy for my next trip. I filled out a form upon sign up detailing where I needed more work (lower back & legs), whether I've had massage before, etc. Jae, my massage therapist, checked out a few spots and offered their added option for a different massage lotion for my sunburned back. I wasn't too bad and continued with the regular one. The rest..I drifted off to LaLaLand and woke up refreshed with no muscle soreness and calm enough with the forthcoming flight delays.
