    a variety of tacos

Has potential but there are many issues they need to fix. The restaurant is new and needs to learn how to operate a business. We arrived slightly early for our reservation and were told people were taking longer to finish eating and to come back. There was no where to wait so we waited in the car. Once we got back we were seated and ordered drinks which took 40 minutes to get. The space is small so there is absolutely no reason to wait 40 min. The drinks arrived when we were almost finished with our food. The menu is short and straightforward. We wanted to try the short rib chile but were told they ran out. How do you run out of a dish on a Saturday night at 7pm? The food we did try was good. We had 6 different tacos. The birria was my favorite. However they come on a wood board and is quite messy. One of the boards was wet like it was just washed. Why not use the taco holders on the board to keep it from being so messy? Overall good ambience. Menu is good but maybe don't run out of food? Hospitality and service would be a 1/5 but is the easiest thing to fix so I hope they get their act together. We never felt welcomed and they were unapologetic about service and wait.

Loved the food. Every bite was so tasty. We licked the plates. The drinks were fantastic. We had the margarita tasting and Paloma.

Fabulous lunch! The poppers were crunchy and fresh, the jalapeño cream soup is heavenly. Also had two tacos: carnitas and fried avocado. Highly recommend! Don't miss the strawberry basil mule!

Tartini (perfect cocktail if you don't want something too sweet) and classic margarita.

Great options for drinks and food. Came for dinner but can't wait to try the brunch since that menu also looks delicious. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Drinks took a bit long but otherwise the service was fantastic. Glad to have this place as an option in Morton.

Excellent food, friendly service, and great atmosphere! We had brunch, and can't wait to try their lunch and dinner options. Excited to have a place like this in Morton.

Palomas, light and refreshing but oh so boozy!

Was really excited to try out Verandah and was not disappointed. Highly recommend their ceviche for appetizer, although the carnitas Mac and cheese were also amazing. Their birria tacos were divine in their simplicity. For dessert, we had their bread pudding, best bread pudding I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back, highly recommend! It is kind of small, so consider making reservations if you're going at peak dining hours. And don't forget the drinks!

Met with a buddy for appetizers and drinks on Friday after work. We were seated right away (with a Yelp reservation), service was excellent, and the food and drinks were outstanding. We had their chips & salsa, and calamari. Definitely recommend each. I had El Presidente and El Chapó drinks. Each were exceptionally made by Isaac at the bar, and tasted great! The renovation / remodel the ownership has done made a great space to relax and catch up after a long week at work. Plus, it was an added bonus to see so many friends there! I will be back with the rest of my family soon.

Food was delicious. I got the el presidente to drink (two of them!) and the Quesabirria Platter. We also shared the chips and salsa. The salsa is unexpectedly spicy but delicious. The tacos were the best I've ever had. It would be five stars but the place had loud music on which didn't work well in the small and busy space. It was our servers first night but no major complaints!

Our experience started off rocky. Our reservations were for 6 o'clock and the hostess told us it would be about 20 minutes before our table is ready. I know they are new and popular so somewhat understandable but a little frustrating. A second point off would be our waitress. She seemed disinterested in our order and anytime we ordered drinks she would set them all on one corner of the table and walk away without passing them to the respective person. I also had to ask for water 3 times to which she looked irritated at each instance. Our friends ordered chips and salsa and got theirs as an appetizer but our Chicharrón came after our entrées had arrived, and after inquiring about it. The good news is the food blew me away. So flavorful and delicious. Even the rice and beans were well seasoned and tasty. Just a warning everything is a little spicy even the beans. If you're sensitive to spice you might want to stay away from here. I loved it though. Verandah has a very cool aesthetic in a small intimate restaurant. Definitely will be back again. Hopefully the reservation issues will be worked out and the waitress will get more experience.

Booths can seat 6 guests and tables seat 4 guests. There is also full bar service and seating. The waitress answered our questions about the various menu items. We tried some sides and sandwiches as well as a couple of desserts. Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. The tomato bisque soup was hot and thick. The broccolini was ok. It could have used some seasoning or a sprinkle of Parmesan. The grilled chicken club was very good. The skillet cookie was served warm with ice cream and chocolate fudge. The cinnamon sprinkled pretzels were 2 large pretzels with a light dusting of cinnamon and sugar accompanied by a chocolate and a caramel sauce. In my opinion the pretzels should have had a heavier dusting of cinnamon sugar mixture. They were also a little tough. Why not partner with another small business, Swanee's, and serve their amazingly soft pretzels? Or pretzel bites? I would dine here again and try some of the other entrees. Since it is still winter the rooftop seating is closed. The large windows overlook the shops and small businesses on the square.
