After attending the hospital's birthing class, I felt like I had learned how to be a patient. After Full Bloom's class, I actually understood birth. They taught us what my body would go through during labor, how birth progresses, and so many practical, evidence-based ways to manage pain. It was hands-down the most informative, empowering, and genuinely fun class I've ever taken. The support didn't stop there. My doulas came to our home to help us create a birth plan that reflected what was important to our family. When labor began, they were there for all three days of it. They literally slept on my floor so they could continue supporting us through every stage. They stayed by my side at the hospital, advocating for me, encouraging me, and helping me feel calm and confident through one of the biggest moments of my life. Their care continued long after delivery. They handled my placenta encapsulation, picking it up directly from the hospital and delivering it back to our home. Their lactation consultant came to our house and helped us through those overwhelming first weeks of breastfeeding. She also did other things which contributed to my fathers happiness when he was alive. Her staff also got him to talk and be friendly, when I could get very little out of him. Her workers were on time, attentive and professional in carrying out their duties. She made my fathers last days comfortable and secure. She not only was my doula, she was my photographer, hairstylist, makeup artist (she's really great btw!) she set up my nursery, she was accessible when I had meltdowns and baby daddy issues she helped me navigate everything and provided resources. She gave me homework to do to protect my peace and prepare for my baby to come earth side. Janisia worked with my midwife and chiropractor, and gave me topics to ask my doctors because I had dual care. This was extremely helpful because you don't know what you don't know and during a pandemic so many things were new and scary! Janisia also did Soo many things to help me mentally prepare for the baby, how to use my stroller. This was huge I didn't know what I was doing lol she was a big help! Natural remedies for heartburn. Janisia also helped me learn how to put the baby in abs out of the car seat and operate my stroller. She wasn't able to physically attend my birth and had a backup I was nervous about that and was kinda sad but she and the replacement were there.
