In addition, I kept waiting for an ETA for when they would stop by. They mentioned that it would be later in the day. They never texted or called and just knocked at the door. I had to scramble to reschedule a work meeting that was supposed to start 20 minutes after they arrived. It seems like they would do good enough work but the hassle of scheduling and payment will have me looking elsewhere when we have future needs.

I was immediately impressed by Paul's depth of knowledge and unique experience related to native design which set him apart from the rest of the field in North Texas. The results are two of the most uniquely designed & implemented yards in all of DFW. The backyard is completely native southwestern landscaping with rock, cactus and agaves imported from all over Texas, Arizona, and California. In contrast the front is classic southern with original elements picked up in New Orleans and Savannah. In the end the pictures, which I have posted here, speak for themselves. Paul and his crew completely disassembled the wall, put in a more solid base and rebuilt the wall the right way. Second, we had Texas Nativescapes fix a drainage and erosion issue that was causing damage to our back fence. Paul and his team removed about 240 sq ft of grass and dirt and replaced with base of decomposed granite and river rock. Both finished projects look great.

The sod showed up and they went straight to work on the installation. These guys worked their back sides off. They had extra sod, so they prepped another area and installed the rest of the sod. They did an outstanding job. I don't have enough words to explain how good this crew is. This 5,000 sq ft of sod. I have 35,000 sq ft of back yard and hired Evergreen Lawn and Land scape. They have installed 20,000 sq ft so far. I will be hiring them for the next 5,000sq ft. This is a great landscape company and they have great employees.

Travis then looked at the site with me on the day he arrived and announced "no problem" to do the work I asked. He showed up with a Home Depot "Toro" SGR-13 grinder that can only cut a maximum of 11" below grade and is limited to trees under 18" diameter (my stump was 33" x 37"). He missed 65% of the North side completely because he did not clear the chips away from the work area. THREE HOURS LATER he stopped and announced it was done. I paid him $300 by Zelle, so there would be no claim that he wasn't paid. When I went to clean the area the next morning, I found that the work was completely unsatisfactory. I had to hire another company AND spent 10 hours extra to get rid of what Travis started. I asked Travis politely to return and finish. He responded back with just an "after" picture and no comments. I then filed a Yelp Guarantee claim and even that had no affect on Travis. I've now planted a new tree and the Yelp situation is on-going. From my personal experience, TJ Lawn IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Mr Sparky came out, replaced the one beeping, no charge. Now they say I have to pay to replace the defective ones because the warranty ran out one month ago! I argued that they put in defective ones, why didn't they replace them all at once instead of letting my warranty expire? No, they only replace them when the battery goes out. These type of smoke detectors don't have a 9-volt that can be replaced. Supervisor John Whitfield, Customer Value Manager at Mister Sparky got snappy with me so I called the police. His worker walked out and drove away without replacing anything. So, this company doesn't care about pleasing customers, just ripping them off. Be careful of wolves in sheep's clothing. Didn't appreciate the treatment from them. Very off putting. I was directed to them because my brother knows the spouse of someone in their company so I reached out. Inquired about a pool that I am highly motivated to build. Informed me it was a $500 design fee to build me a 3D model of what the pool and backyard will look like. Told them there is no need, my friend is an architect and has already 3D designed what I want exactly (and I sent it to them), I just need them to make it. *crickets* A week later I get a message that they are pawning me off to another company, to Add insult to injury, its one that I have already contacted about a pool many times that I can not get a return response from. read more
