It was clear that this was a company that took pride in every project they took on, and were not in the habit of cutting corners. From a duration estimate, professionalism, availability / communication, and quality standpoint, we could not be more pleased. The leveling and floor preparation process alone was something to be behold. Previous to hiring them, I had idle thoughts of taking on our flooring as a DIY. But there's no way I could have done what they did in this leveling process. We had 3 different types of floors across this space, and before they even began the installation, the preparation / leveling could have almost stood as a completed "concrete" floor. We found out she was unlicensed after we already hired her even though she told us she otherwise…read more We appreciated her work to find us the carpet, vinyl plank flooring and tiles we were looking for, but we didn't appreciate the flooring installers that she used. One guy would show up late and smelling of alcohol from what I'd guess is a previous night of drinking. After he'd show up late in the morning then he'd take a lunch break not long after he'd just got here. That isn't even the worst part. He laid the planks down and it looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the floor made a crinkly plastic sound whenever and wherever we walked. The installer had to ask his uncle about it to get some advice. He had to remove all the flooring and transitions, plastic sheeting and redo it all. He had to sand the flooring to remove any adhesive and it got dust all over EVERYTHING in the kitchen and adjacent rooms. It left a mess. What really pissed us off was when we had the problem with the flooring, Lani told us to take it up directly with the installer. She had washed her hands of the situation at that point. We didn't hire him. We hired Lani. She should have dealt with the problem and made sure it was fixed, not dumped it on us. I've included a photo of the transition pieces the installer used after he had to rip out the first ones to fix the incorrect installation of the floor the first time. It doesn't match. The first transition pieces he brought were a perfect match. We didn't want them back in our house after this fiasco so now we have to live with it as is.

Because my children were on vacation in Vegas during the holidays, my availability to get the work done was very limited and Lani was able to squeeze my project in between Christmas and new year. The work area was cleaned very well at completion of the project and they disposed of all the trash and extra material. My children and i are extremely impressed and happy with the end result. Update:…read more Unfortunately I am changing my review to two stars. Our vinyl floors were complete in March 2023 and initially everything was great like I stated in my original review. We noticed in August 2025 that multiple planks were lifting up when walked on. We reached out to American Floor and Home and they swiftly sent someone to inspect. He was very thorough in his inspection and concerned at the condition of the floors/baseboards considering how recent they were installed. He put a claim in with the manufacturer Cali Bamboo. Since then, we've sent the pictures they requested, had their third party inspection complete, and still nothing has been remedied. We periodically get emails saying American Floor and Home is coordinating with the manufacturer and will receive updates as they come. It's been 8 months since this process has started and nothing has changed except the worsening condition of our floors and baseboards. Besides lifting, multiple planks now have cracks and chips in them. The baseboards continue to split between joints and now even from the wall itself. I've sent footage of the worsening damage and still nothing has been done to remedy anything. We spent a lot of money on this purchase and it's very disheartening that this is the response we are getting. Whether it's a manufacturer's issue or an installation issue, I'd expect some type of plan of action to fix this problem that is only getting worse the longer they delay it. Extremely disappointing.
