Were the vets I spoke to kind? Yes. Was the staff also kind and accommodating when my family and I came to check in on our pet? Yes. Is the way that this place goes about discussing financial costs and paying your bill shady and blurry as far as ethics? Abso-f...ing-lutely!! The one rating because no amount of kindness or talking to me in an annoying baby voice could erase the trauma, and financial manipulation my family experienced. I am not going to tell to go here, but I will recommend that before you go, please level set, maybe talk to a loved one or even a trusted neighbor/coworker to come up with a number that is feasible for you, no judgement of it feels too high or too low, but absolutely be ready to walk away if the number that VERG quotes you is even a dollar above that, because it will eventually be more. Our cat went in upon recommendation from our vet after being sick for almost 6 week, we discovered she swallowed something that punctured her intestines. It required surgery, the doctor was very optimistic about her chances at recovery, she was only two after all. In hindsight, she was very depleted already and likely not a good surgery candidate. Below, you'll find pics of letter I wrote to VERG on 12/21 in my apple notes, expressing my utter frustrations snd despair with the whole situation. I ultimately did not send because shortly after I got a call from Dr. H saying (after spending over 15k), they were going to be gracious enough to not charge me anymore . Absolutely disgusting with the fact that they billed my daughter $1100 for her cat before they provided ANY care. Thank you, VERG staff, for caring for our fur baby as best you could and ensuring she was comfortable during her remaining time with us. We took our cat Honey here after she suddenly stopped eating and became ill. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and asked what was wrong. Once I told them what was happening, they immediately took her in for evaluation as I started on the paperwork. Once an assessment was done, the doctor came to speak with us to inform us what was going on and what was needed and to provide an invoice. We were at VERG for a few hours with our fur baby, waiting and hoping she would be okay, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and she passed away. Ultimately, the staff here were all very kind and empathetic. We were given as much time with our fur baby as we needed without being rushed or feeling as though we were, and for that, I'm grateful. I know that she passed knowing and feeling how loved she was by all of us (her family). read more

TLDR: Be wary about using VERG for oncology, especially if your animal's cancer is advanced and or you are now doing palliative / hospice care. I took my dog into the Gowanus location on May 30th, to see oncology sooner than our previously scheduled appointment on June 6th. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in February, and we had already attempted CHOP and MOPP with him, with not a lot of success. Upon advice of his current oncologist's office, finances, and his quality of life - we moved to palliative care with L-Spar shots to keep down swelling in lymph nodes around his chest, throat, and jaw, along with continued use of the steroid prednisone. His current oncologist and vet are out of state, but we live nearby and I wanted to see if it would be better to switch to a local oncologist given his current state. He started showing additional concerning symptoms over the past week - coughing / hacking, dark stools, trouble defecating, a bit more lethargy than previously seen. I told all of this to the person we did intake with before speaking with Dr.Cohen - the oncologist at VERG (I do not remember her name but she was very very nice and attentive.) However - my conversation with Dr.Cohen was extremely disappointing and I realize in hindsight how little information and support we received during this visit. In addition to wanting his symptoms to be examined, I picked VERG because their website said they support palliative care. Dr.Cohen acted very dismissively throughout the entire visit. I am more than aware that no one can tell me how much time my dog has left. I brought him in because in addition to needing the relief of an L-Spar shot for some of his lymphoma symptoms he also was experiencing GI concerns that needed more investigation and treatment. When I asked about the possibly bloody stool, she said that the lymphoma would possibly affect that and could lead to rectal collapse, and that was something to look for, and that they would do a rectal exam because they forgot to do that prior to coming and speaking with me. I have no idea if they looked at why there was blood in his stool and if there was anything we should do, such as antibiotics or medications he should take in addition to the steroids. I ended up scheduling an appointment with a different vet on Monday evening that did a through exam and prescribed probitiocs, an antacid and a GI protecterant. That vet stated there was a chance my dog may need to be hospitalized, and yet at VERG no one said or did anything about his GI issues. During the appointment I also told them that I had one week left of my prednisone prescription, and there was no conversation about if I needed medications or getting more prescribed that day. (Thankfully, I already have a prescription coming from a delivery service.) The attitude I picked up on throughout this visit was that while there was stuff we could do it didn't seem worth it given how advanced his cancer is - which is not the attitude I am assuming they want staff to show with a client. That may not be how she personally felt, or the message she wanted to send but that is how I felt. It felt like I was being treated as an overdramatic pet parent, rather than a very loving and scared pet parent simply trying to manage her dog's cancer the best she can to give him as many good days left as possible. I would like to point out that all the other staff I interacted with that day were very professional and kind and should be praised for their handling of my dog and case I was charged 292 for a consult in which the doctor did not answer a single question I had. When I asked about whether we should do an L-Spar shot that day, she simply said they could if that is what I wanted to do. I have no veterinary medicine training. I have tried to understand everything related to my dog's condition and health, but it is a lot, and I often feel like I don't know what I am doing. Treating cancer is extremely expensive and I understand the costs that go into administering the rescue shot. However, I do not feel as though I actually received any support or information during the consult, such as coming up with an adequate supportive care plan or explanation / treatment for his additional symptoms I brought him in for. All I was told is that we could do the shot that day and bring him in a week later for another check. I finally left three hours later not knowing whether I was actually considered an oncology client at this hospital or not. I have requested records, a refund for the consult fee, and a followup from the medical director. I have received nothing besides a response stating that my email with my concerns would be forwarded to admin. read more

Dr Judd had a smirk on her face while telling me that my pet had cancer, maybe weeks to live and that I should euthanize and even told me where I should put my pet down. As if I would go to another location affiliated with this horrible place. Additionally, my pet was handed back to me after having soiled himself and they didn't clean him off. Outside of their awful treatment to clients and client owners, they also ensure they have plastered in their window for all to see the political agendas that they support which have nothing to do with emergency care for pets. Every VERG trip is mid but this time was unacceptable. I brought my 13.5yr dual Cushings pup, Jing to VERG as she was experiencing bloody stool, vomit, and lethargy. We received confirmation Jings time left was limited but not immediate. We were at the vet for about 10 hours by the time we got her back. The discharge nurse aggressively shoved Jing at me wrapped in a pee pad covered in her own diarrhea, and even sad "she had an accident don't hold her from under." Girl how else should I hold my dog who can't walk? I realized she was covered in sh*t when I was also covered in it. My fiancee went to the receptionist and told them it was unacceptable that we've been here 10 hours, our dog is dying, and they quite obviously left her for hours sitting in her own vomit and poop cause it was DEEEEP in her furr. The receptionist was horrified and helped us clean her up and was appalled by how much poop was on her. We didn't even get it all off. I washed her when I got home and she still smells like poop. On top of that they didn't do all the treatments quoted and we still ended up somehow paying the high end estimate?? Fire the discharge nurse. She shouldn't be trusted to care for animals. Horrible experience. Jing didn't deserve that treatment. read more

Be very cautious of the medical advice the vets at this clinic give you. Hindsight is 20/20, but I now believe they made my pet's symptoms worse to the point of us having to euthanize him early. If your pet has lung cancer and pleural effusion, please make sure that you confirm there is not congestive heart failure also happening before you let them prescribe prednisolone. The vet we saw said she didn't think it was CHF and did not recommend an echocardiogram as our first move forward. She did note that the steroid could make his symptoms worse if it was CHF but was confident it wasn't. We trusted her. I now believe that was a mistake. His symptoms got significantly worse after taking the steroid for a few days, so we brought him back. A different vet told us our options were fluid removal or euthanasia. She did NOT tell us we could stop giving him the prednisolone after the fluid removal and see how he reacts. She only said the fluid would inevitably come back. I regret that I was such an emotional wreck, I was not able to put two and two together at the time and bring it up myself, but i now believe the steroid caused the fluid to get worse (as the first vet had said it could) in the first place, and if we had removed the fluid and stopped the steroid, we could have had more time with him. I only opted for euthanasia because I thought the fluid would come back quickly like it did this first time (but that was likely because of the steroid). All of this to say medical care is of course complicated, and I have no way of knowing for sure that I'm right, but this feels like gross incompetence looking back. I had a deeply distressing experience at VERG Brooklyn with Dr. Elsa Nader, DVM during an emergency visit on November 7, 2025, for my dog, January. After arriving around 5:30 PM, I spent more than seven hours waiting while receiving unclear and inconsistent communication about my pet's condition and care plan. Treatments and billing were initiated before I provided formal approval, and when I tried to set a clear financial limit of $3,504.18 for the first 24 hours of care, I was told that care could not continue unless I agreed in advance to 48 hours of treatment. This situation left me feeling pressured, misled, and powerless to make informed decisions for my own pet. I consider this experience unethical and emotionally traumatic, especially given the circumstances of an emergency visit. Pet owners deserve transparent communication, clear consent, and respect for financial boundaries in emergency situations. Truly love VERG, I've been here twice and everyone on staff is kind, emotionally attuned and professional. While my pet emergencies have not been life threatening, I witnessed first hand the care and support they extended to clients in less fortunate situations. I've brought my cat here twice for urinary retention (no obstruction). Both times, they worked quickly, I never had to wait for more than 10 minutes for my cat to be assessed. The vets are very communicative, and looped me in every step of the way. Of course, no one loves the price of a veterinary emergency, but they explained the reason behind each item on the invoice, all of which were clearly necessary for my cat's wellbeing. VERG IS THE BEST VETINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!! I had took my dog to her primary vet today because she just wasn't herself. We found out that she had an extremely high fever and they urged me to take her to the Hospital. They suggested I take her to VEG ER in Williamsburg. My cousin had an AWFUL experience there so I decided to take her to VERG and I'm so glad I did! When I got there I told them I had just brought my dog from the vet with a 105.1 fever and they quickly attended me and the front desk ladies were so kind. They took her vitals. Told me what they would recommend in terms of bloodwork, urine test, etc. they walked me through everything and were very transparent with the cost. They did everything they needed to and the wonderful doctor Laura sat with me and explained everything they found and answered all the questions I had with so much patience and kindness. Everyone there was so kind. For people who are curious about costs. The initial examination was about $230 and everything else they did was added on. It can be pricey but it also is a hospital and they do an amazing job so it was all worth it. also would like to mention that they don't do payment plans but they do have options for an emergency pet care credit card and loan which is very helpful. we had to take our dog to VERG Brooklyn last night because she was nauseous and vomiting blood. the staff at VERG were amazing - very friendly, caring, and helpful. They triaged Molly quickly and had us meeting with a vet within 30 minutes (this was at 11:00pm). Dr. Michalik sat on the floor with Molly, gained her trust, and helped calm her anxiety (along with my own). After treatment was over, Dr. Michalik answered all of my question and told us what to watch for when we went home. The entire staff was wonderful and animal focused. The hospital is very clean while not having that typical hospital smell, which helped with my nerves. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! The entire experience caused me so much emotional distress and fear, and I don't think I will ever fully recover. My dog got diagnosed with a mast cell tumor and this was the location my vet recommended. The week before his consult, he wouldn't stop throwing up and my vet recommended he see someone here ASAP. I sat in the waiting room for hours and hours crying my eyes out because I had no idea what was going on. They then got his initial results and quoted me around $1600 to tell me it was an intestinal blockage. After waiting for hours AGAIN, they told me he would have to be kept overnight before they handed me another bill for $3500 that I had no possible way to pay (i mean seriously who tf does????) and couldn't leave without paying even though I was in absolute distress and pain. Picked him up the next day all was well. UNTIL. I had to go back again for his surgery a couple weeks later. Seemingly everything had gone well and they sent us home with meds etc but no sort of bandage or cast to securely cover the surgery. In the middle of the night he took his cone off and ripped off his stitches so I then had to take him in the morning for another emergency surgery. They charged me another few thousand dollars on top of what I had already paid for the surgery the day before (mind you, they are the ones that could have been more mindful of the whole situation. 6 months later and we're about to go get another surgery before it still has not full healed...do with that what you will. read more

My 18 year old cat's health was quickly deteriorating from undiagnosed heart disease. My regular vet did a sonogram and found fluid on her lungs, and suggested I take her to VERG for a echocardiogram. When I arrived at VERG they quickly triaged her, took her into the clinic immediately, and put her on oxygen. After a thorough exam, Dr. Karen Li sat down with me to go over the options. At that point my cat's breathing was very labored and she had an enlarged heart. Dr. Li didn't feel the echocardiogram was necessary because all Maggie's symptoms pointed in one direction. Dr. Li carefully explained her condition and the pros and cons of our limited options. The first option we discussed might have extended her life by a few weeks, but it would have required a lot of medication and potentially a painful procedure to drain fluid, and Maggie would not be comfortable. The other option was euthanasia to give her a comfortable and compassionate end. Dr. Li supported my decision to end her life to avoid any further suffering. Dr. Li was with me through the procedure and was amazingly kind and compassionate. I was able to hold Maggie the whole time so she could feel my love. Dr. Li gave me all the time I wanted with my cat both before and after; I never felt rushed to either make a decision or have the procedure. It was a very difficult day but Dr. Li and everyone else at VERG - from the admissions desk, to the triage nurse, to the grief counselor - were exceeding professional, kind and caring. I felt that both my cat and I got the best possible service in this scenario and felt very cared for. VERG didn't suggest any additional tests or procedures, although they could have. I appreciated that. It was a heartbreaking day but Dr. Li and the entire VERG staff made it as comfortable as possible. Based on my experience I recommend and would trust VERG in an emergency situation to do the right thing and take care of a beloved pet. read more

I'm absolutely heartbroken by my experience at VERG Brooklyn. My dog, Coka, gave birth the day before but passed away early the next morning. I called VERG right away, explained what happened, and they told me to bring her and her newborn puppies in immediately. When I arrived, no one even checked to confirm whether Coka had passed. Instead, I was sent straight to discuss cremation pricing. There was no compassion, no comfort, and no effort to help me understand what happened. When I asked about the puppies, I was told it would be $200 per puppy just to have them looked at. When we were taken to a room, I asked if they could at least tell me what caused Coka's death. VERG is an excellent emergency veterinary facility! While my cat Shimmy ultimately died, Dr. Brown and the rest of the staff did everything humanly possible to try to save him. Cats will often hide discomfort and pain. I had no way of knowing something was wrong until Shimmy started sleeping all the time and not eating for the past couple of days. He was a blind, formerly feral, cat who I adopted after trapping and having him neutered a couple of years ago. It took him many months to learn to trust but, in the end, he was sleeping right next to me. When his health took a suspicious downturn, I rushed him to VERG. He was diagnosed with passive pleural effusion, not amenable to a pleurocentesis. He quickly declined and did not respond to CPR. Dr. Brown and her colleagues did all they possibly could to help him. Clearly, the cause of his pleural effusions had to be something very serious. I was so impressed with Dr. Brown and the entire staff, who were all very compassionate. Having visited 3 other emergency facilities in the past, I highly recommend VERG for any animal emergencies. They are the absolute best! read more

We had a negative experience with this business. Although they are not responsible for the death of our dog- they definitely were not as sensitive as we would like them to have been. First- they take your animal from you right away. They don't even touch or IV your pet until a financial agreement is approved ( which takes an hour or so of critical time) then when the vet sees you to go over the finances (while your heart is breaking) They give you a list of possibilities. I told them our budget and what I could afford - It was then recommended to apply for care credit . This is to ensure that the hospital can go OVER your budget. This is also the time that you learn that your dog has not even been looked at. They won't touch your animal until finances are approved. We didn't know it at the time- But she was dying all alone... We could and should have still been with her. Unfortunately our dog had to be put down just a few hours after we left her in their care. When we returned to say good bye - we were IMMEDIATELY introduced to urns and the cremation process. When I asked how much it was- I was told that we had enough in our care credit budget!! No pricing was discussed. They take advantage of your breaking heart. This place is a business. We are heart broken. And now officially broke. About a few months ago, my wife took our dog to the vet due to suspected back pain. We were referred to the Neurology department for further evaluation. Once in the exam room, a young staff member took our dog's history. However, instead of simply gathering information, she immediately told my wife that an MRI was necessary. My wife was taken aback...her role was to take history, not diagnose or prescribe tests. When my wife responded that we would think about it, the staff member smiled, shook her head, and seemed to lose interest. In contrast, the doctor was extremely friendly, assuring us that the decision was entirely ours and did not pressure us the way the initial staff member had. Ultimately, we chose to visit another veterinary clinic, where we learned that others had experienced similar issues with this facility. my experience with oncologist Dr Cohen has been exceptionally bad. she has very poor bedside manner, speaks w/o compassion, has serious communication issues. I took two of my cats to her for cancer tx, my boy cat needed surgery for soft tissue sarcoma, she was very discouraging saying it'll come back, prognosis is poor. Our regular vet told us he should do well as it's a low grade tumor. He has the surgery despite her pessimism and 2 years later he's still here! I took another female cat to her with intestinal tumor, she ordered testing then some more very expensive testing, offered no plan of care, just delivered news. You have to know the cancer you're dealing with to ask right questions because she does not offer up information or guidance. We are not all medically versed and rely on doctors to educate us and guide us, do not expect that from her. Vet medicine in general is a big scam and places like verg are corporate and designed to rob you. She represents that system very well. read more

Off the bat, poor customer support. I called and immediately was received with an unprofessional tone from the Gentleman who answered the call. I called 6/30 3:30pm, call can easily be tracked and because we are on a recorded line; the Leaders to hear for themselves. If you care about your clients, I highly recommend this person gets a coaching. His tone and demeanor is unacceptable in the workplace, maybe at his place of residents he can be as obvious as he wants. He disconnected the call and when I attempted to call back he would disconnect. I needed an appointment for my pet and the last thing I need to hear from the location is indifference and unprofessionalism. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.. My cat has cancer and I got her diagnosis here and the team was great but the follow up was so truly terrible. She has been in pain with insane digestive issues since she left here - I have tried calling and kept getting "there is a note kn your account for the doctor to call you" but she didn't ever call?! I am assuming she had a bad reaction to the sedatives they gave her as she was healthy (except for the tumor of course) before I brought her in. I have no idea what to do as every vet just refers me to this place but I believe they made her sick and they have been so unhelpful post ct scan. They also tried to get me to remove her leg even though they also said it probably wouldn't get rid of the cancer which is terminal. What vet would recommend that to a dying cat!? Clearly just trying to get more money out of me. Awful! I wouldn't usually write a yelp review but this was a terrible experience and the oncologist I dealt with only followed up to try and get me to do an expensive but pointless surgery and wouldn't return calls when I was trying to get my cats pain meds prescribed (which she said she was going to do?! But she didn't give the prescription and the receptionist couldn't get her to return my call) the level of cruelty and thoughtlessness when I was miserable and my cat was suffering - imagine suggesting a surgery that wouldn't help your animal but just add to the pain and trauma of the end of her life. DO NOT take your pet to VERG unless you want to be ignored, misled, and left helpless while your animal suffers. I brought my dog Poe to VERG on June 11th after she suddenly lost the ability to use her back legs and began having what looked like episodic seizures. I was terrified, and at first, they triaged her quickly. That moment of hope quickly turned into two days of misdiagnosis, dismissal, and systemic failure that nearly cost Poe her life. She was misdiagnosed with "paroxysmal dyskinesia," and sent home with gabapentin and a recommendation to buy a specific CBD brand listed in her discharge paperwork (which felt like a sales pitch more than legitimate medical guidance). I was told not to worry unless she had more than three episodes. She had 18 episodes overnight. I logged each one in detail, timestamps, behaviors, affected limbs, mood, and even video footage, just like they asked me to. When I brought her back the next day (Thursday), I waited five hours to be seen. Once again, I asked repeatedly for an MRI, telling the doctor I knew something was deeply wrong. That doctor told me that if I came back first thing Friday morning at 7 AM, Poe could be seen by the neurologist for an MRI. But when she came back into the room, she handed me a list of other neurologists in the city. I asked why. She told me the VERG neurologist refused to see Poe the next day because "she didn't have an appointment." I cried. I begged. I said, "What is the point of this being an EMERGENCY hospital if you're telling me you can't do anything in an emergency?" Eventually, after demanding to speak with a supervisor, I spoke to Millie (Milagros Fernandez), who scheduled Poe for an MRI, four days later on Monday morning. But Poe didn't make it to that appointment. By Friday morning, she had crashed. She was limp, soaked in urine, couldn't see or respond, and her eyes were darting rapidly. I called VERG, begged to speak to someone. The receptionist was rude, got her name and gender wrong, and told me I was being difficult. I never got a call back. I still haven't. That was it. I rushed Poe to BluePearl Midtown, where they saw us within 30 minutes, evaluated her, ordered an emergency MRI, diagnosed her with a hemorrhagic stroke, and admitted her to the ICU for the weekend. They were calm, kind, transparent, and fast. Everything VERG was not. And the horror continues: --I have called VERG twice asking to speak with someone about what happened. --Both times I was told a director and supervisor would call me back. --On Thursday, June 19th, I called again. I was put on hold for 14 minutes, hung up, called back, immediately placed on hold again. It's clear they are trying to avoid me. They dismissed my concerns. They delayed care. Verg has an excellent surgeon. But in my experience there, that's all they have. There is no after-care. Every visit runs about $6,000. My pet was sent home after a surgery. He smelled like he'd been rolling around a filthy farm. Within 24 hours he developed a massive infection. Phone calls and emails to Verg about his post-surgical condition were never answered. I took him to another hospital where he needed 48 hours emergency care in isolation because of the post-surgical infection. This never should have happened. There is a huge disconnect between procedures, after-care in a facility that leaves your pet in stench with a massive infection, and no response to client contact, that severely negatively impacts animal care at Verg. read more

My dog is 5 years old now. The reason we went to this hospital was, he needed to see a specialist about his elbow. We got a referral from our animal clinic before going. I took my dog here over 3 years ago during COVID19 but this time we were able to go to the room with my dog. The nurse and doctor were very nice and very understanding with our concerns. I went through a lot of animal clinic and hospital, even human hospital, lol. I think if you compare animal hospital vs human hospital, animal hospital has a better service and shorter waiting time :) Vet bill is expensive, but I want to take care of him as best as I can, that is why I choose VERG for my dog. read more

Today i brought my puppy in for constipation , thinking I'll be leaving with a stool softener. Instead my puppy was lethargic and in worse condition. I was in completely shock when they suggested hospitalization or putting her to sleep. Again she was constipated. I thought hospital were a safe space for animals . This clinic is a death sentence. They are so tried to charge me 8k for all of this . When i left with two cans of puppy food , and a sick puppy ( sicker than when she came in) I'm traumatized by this. My dog was put under unesscary stress. The doctor was kind , but couldn't even tell me what was wrong with her. How are you hospitalizing a puppy with not knowing the cause ? Doesn't make since. Overall, it was not a good experience. We spent thousands and thousands of dollars for radiation (Oncologist used a radiation facility in NJ) scans, and chemo for our dog. We couldn't do the last treatment of chemo because the doctor was insisting we sedate our dog after we told her our dog was not reacting well to the sedation. Sedation was not used for any of the other chemo treatments. It's sad and heartbreaking to spend this amount of money only to not finish the process, and the Oncologist had no other solutions. In addition, there were bad customer service experiences and poor communication throughout. I do not recommend. read more

We completely loved how that cared for our very sick girl from the moment we walked in. They kept in contact with us during our puppy's stay and kept us informed as to what this was all costing us from the start. It's expensive, yes. But this is not a regular vet, it's an EMERGENCY VET. This is where you go when something is wrong that your regular vet can't handle or something serious has happened to your pet and your vet isn't available. And, yes, you might have to wait, you're not the only pet owner in Brooklyn with a dear one in need of immediate help. That's why they triage your pet immediately. Let me start by saying this: any place that makes you wait over two hours only to tell you they still don't know how long you'll be waiting has a serious management problem. No business--clinic or otherwise--should subject anyone to this kind of limbo. Either hire more doctors or stop pretending to be a "walk-in" clinic. My experience? I had a dog who was anxious and crying non-stop, and I had no idea what was wrong. I was told there were six people ahead of me but multiple doctors on duty, so it shouldn't take long. Two hours later, with my dog still in distress and me getting more frustrated by the minute, the front desk staff brushed me off with the same old line: "There are sicker dogs, you'll just have to wait." It wasn't until I said I couldn't wait any longer that they finally gave me useful advice--go to Bond Vet Clinic down the block. Turned out to be great advice! Though the person at the front desk has no business being in a position that requires manners, diplomacy, and compassion. Now, Bond Vet Clinic was also busy, but the difference? Night and day. They saw I was upset, and a doctor immediately came to help. They took care of everything, no fuss. As for Verg? I'm never going back. It's a mess, and, as plenty of other reviews confirm, there's absolutely no excuse to make sick animals wait that long. read more

The medical care and advice your pet receives will really vary from vet to vet. Their services are astoundingly expensive. The waits are always hours and they don't communicate where you are in line or what the wait is looking like. But for me the worst part of the experience is the waiting room. There are often not enough chairs for everyone and there's no sound control. I have a very anxious cat who is easily rattled by loud noises on a good day. But when he's sick and there are a dozen or more loud conversations happening simultaneously in the same concrete space, it's very nerve wracking. They need to consider at the very least adding some sound absorption panels to the walls. They could also consider separating their areas for dogs and cats. It would also be cool if they encouraged people to not have really loud conversations. read more

Their loathesome business model is to hold your pet in another room at the end of each visit, and release them to you only after you have paid your bill right then and there. (I was able to pay--that is not the point.) People hospitals don't do this. Any business that thinks they need to hold your loved one prisoner, because you won't be trusted, should not be in the compassionate care business. I am beside myself with grief right now. We brought our pregnant bengal in on Saturday for care as she had been delivering her kittens stillborn and seemed very uncomfortable. To our surprise she still had one left alive and healthy as per x-rays and ultrasound. The staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. They seemed to genuinely care And we felt like she was being cared for. She wasn't progressing even after meds and it was decided she needed a c-section. The last kitten didn't survive but we were told our bengal was good. She was groggy, loopy and uncomfortable but for all intensive purposes there were no complications. She had soiled her onesie so we placed her cone on, as we were instructed, while it washed and dried maybe 2 hours total. She had been laying down and we didn't think anything of it as she had been doing this since we brought her home Sunday. Not sleeping, eyes always open. Went to remove cone to place onesie back on and she was already stiff. No, the cone wasn't too tight for anyone thinking that. I immediately called Verg asked them not to put me on hold but they did anyway nearly 10 min before I hung up and they still haven't attempted to call me back. We are devastated. This review is for Dr. Cohen and her oncology staff. My cat Opie had chemo with Dr. Cohen following his surgery and he was well taken care of the whole time. All of the techs knew and loved him and were so kind and helpful. Dr. Cohen was great and always answered any questions/concerns and was so loving to my baby. His kind of cancer has a very poor prognosis but we did the most aggressive treatment and he had no symptoms the whole time. So hoping for the best, but I know if he will need more care that he will be in good hands. And Dominique at the front desk made us feel so welcome from the first day. She is so kind and always makes sure people waiting feel comfortable. And she clearly loves animals. Of course since it's an emergency vet sometimes you have to wait. I've learned that the afternoon appointments usually have more of a wait than early morning. read more

The Receptionist Shanice was beyond lovely when I spoke to her on the phone which convinced me to come for an emergency visit when my girls tail was banged in a door accidentally. Unfortunately the nurse DESIREE was TERRIBLE she was very agitated by my pup began shaken up (I adopted her after she was bred and left on the street, although not aggressive she's very afraid of strangers and trembles and/or hides if she feels like you're going to hurt her) she pulled on my dogs INJURED tail, got upset with my dog because she wagged her tail and her bandage came off!
