Bond Vet never seems to disappoint. I had to bring my cat in for a quick check-up after noticing she was acting a bit out of the ordinary. My usual location was fully booked, so I decided to try the Park Slope location since they had a few available appointments. It was my first time visiting this location. The layout is a bit different from the other locations, but I found it very cozy and welcoming. The staff were friendly as always, and for a Saturday afternoon, the clinic was quite busy but still well organized. Felicia, the veterinary assistant, and Dr. Caldwell were both amazing kind, attentive, and patient. My tortie was a little shy and stressed, but I knew she was in good hands. I'll definitely be coming back to this location. I really liked it. read more

The establishment is clean, the front desk staff is welcoming, and the music is great. Dr. Anthony Hill is wonderful; I saw him twice and had excellent experiences, and the vet tech who assisted him was also fantastic (I wish I remembered her name). My most recent visit was a different story. I saw a different doctor and vet tech and felt disconnected throughout the appointment. Afterward, I noticed incorrect information on the visit summary, which they only send after you leave, so there's no chance to review it in the moment. I explained that one of my cats began experiencing loose stool days before her food was switched, but the doctor attributed it to the food change anyway. When I corrected her, she just smiled and shook her head. She then recommended a round of testing even though I told her the stool was already firming up. Reviewing past summaries, I also noticed my cat had barely gained weight, yet the doctor framed it as a major concern (she's 9 pounds and almost 2 years old). For my other cat's shedding and dandruff, they recommended a mousse at a $20 upcharge. I have pet insurance, and this still isn't a cost effective place to go. I never want to sacrifice quality of care for my cats, but the pricing feels excessive. I originally planned to book a televisit, but a televisit alone is $98, which I find ridiculous. Since an in person visit is only a little more, I just went into the office instead. My cats are used to BondVet, so we may return, but I will not book with the doctor from this last visit again. I know the cost isn't the fault of the vet and she was kind to the cats so that's a plus. read more

I've used them twice. Once for my resident cat and Jess today for a foster. I just went to require about some test that needs to be done for a foster that I have. Even though it's expensive, I was going ahead and do it because I really need to get this foster rehomed. I went. I've made an appointment for a walk-in everything went through and as soon as I got there, which is literally a four minute walk they said oh we're not seeing you. The person who is manning the desk that she tried calling me, but I don't have being recorded not even a text. I'm assuming that she did not try calling me and let me walk all the way to the vet for her to say oh we can't see you today. This is not good customer service. There's plenty of vets around the neighborhood that happily said yes come on in for that one test. I shall not be working with them unless it's an emergency because it's the closest vet to me. read more

An addendum to this review is the massive amount of marketing emails and text messages you will begin to get after visiting BV. There is no easy way to opt out of them (at least that I can find). BV makes it very difficult to reach a human after you leave the premises, but will absolutely bombard you with spam and bots. Sadly, the standard experience now for any kind of franchise. Devastated with how Bond Vet handled my appointment for euthanasia for my 15yr old cat. I booked an appt over the phone for the bond vet in my neighborhood a week in advanced (ditmas park) and the day of showed my appointment at (park slope). Never received a confirmation email so that's my bad for not checking, but they called several times to move around the appointment time for themselves (our office eats lunch from 2-3pm) okay great - don't make appointments for 1:30pm then if that lunch window is way more important than your clients! "Next time be mindful of your appointment time since we take our lunch at 2pm" - there will never be a next time. Thankful to have dodged our cats last moments in their care. If they can't get the scheduling correct, I would imagine the care would be botched as well. Headed to Noah's Ark since they seem more concerned about pet care. read more

I had a dog who was anxious and crying non-stop, and I had no idea what was wrong. I went to the VERG Clinic, where I waited for 2 hours without seeing a doctor. It wasn't until I said I couldn't wait any longer that they finally gave me helpful advice--go to Bond Vet Clinic down the block. That turned out to be great advice! Now, Bond Vet Clinic was also busy, but the difference was night and day. They saw I was upset, and a doctor immediately came to help. They took care of everything, with no fuss. Went to pick up some prescription cat food that had been put aside for me. Halfway home, I see that I've been given dog food (as indicated on the label) and charged close to $30 for 4 small tins of cat food. I call to complain about such a serious mistake upon which the receptionist says that it was a simple mistake. She then tells me that I would have to come back with my physical credit card for a partial refund. I then ask for the office manager's name to which she responds that it's confidential information and that she can only take a message. Completely absurd! I turn my car around just to drive back to the clinic for the receptionist to gaslight me and tell me that I spoke to a call center and that the call was never directed to the clinic. Impossible because I recognized her voice and how would a random individual at a call center know such specific information without having access to my pet's chart. We used to go to Bond Vet in Hell's Kitchen before we moved out to Brooklyn and the Park Slope location opened up. Glad we didn't have to stop going to a Bond Vet! They had all of our records on file, and changing to this location was seamless. All Bond Vet team members are very gentle and thorough with Benny. He's pretty stranger averse, but does well here. He got into rat poisoning as soon as we moved here, and the team did thorough tests to make sure he was okay and that he didn't need to go through Vitamin K therapy :) read more

Overall not a great experience. We have gone to every appointment and kept tabs on vaccines only to find our puppy is missing crucial vaccines. I asked to speak with a nurse and have been hung up on twice. No one know why these vaccines have been overlooked nor do they seem very sure if they are needed. Still on hold. Will have to get records and move on to a more reputable practice. Update- they reached out to schedule the vaccines but unfortunately I had to travel due to a death in the family. I was in need of a vet visit for my dog who needed an urgent allergy shot. My dogs regular vet was rude and had a disgusting attitude. They told me I wouldn't be able to get in until June 3rd. BOND immediately set me up with an appointment same day with no isssues. They were incredibly polite and caring. They were able to give my dog the care he needed and administered the allergy shot as needed. They even gave me a bunch of recommendations for his needs. Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Offices are always clean and welcoming. Staff even informed me of the price before hand without bamboozling you into hidden fees. I switched vets immediately. Bond is now our regular vet and I am so happy with my decision. read more

Got rejected to be seen by the doctor for having an anxious dog. My dog's eyes got slightly scratched by a foster puppy so we had to get him examined. We've been to Bond vet twice and our experience has been pleasant. However today, my pup was refused to be taken care of by Dr. Aldridge. Our medium-sized rescue dog from Korea gets anxious when he's at the vet and barks. He is not aggressive and has never attacked any person or a dog. We even put a soft muzzle to offer the doctor extra assurance. When we reassured the doctor that our dog doesn't bite, Dr. Aldridge did not trust us and said "I take that with a grain of salt," and rejected to examine our dog calling him "aggressive". Why wouldn't she at least try? He wasn't even doing anything with a muzzle on. She also continued to question us why we're not prescribing our dog Trazodone per Bond Vet's recommendation and demanded we should. We've already explained that Trazodone has not worked well with our dog. It always gives our dog an upset stomach for two days. It seemed like the doctor lacked empathy and knowledge on aggressive vs. anxious dogs. If your pup is skittish, we wouldn't recommend Bond Vet. Some doctors here may lack experience dealing with nervous dogs. I'm shocked because this never happened to our dog over the past five years of his life! Thankfully, we went to a local ER right after and was able to receive proper care. The nurse at the ER assured us that he's just a nervous pup and did not react to her care. read more

I came here for their urgent care services so I can't speak on their regular vet care. My dog had an ear infection and since my regular vet closes early I needed a location that could see my dog after I finished work. My vet recommended this place because they were open until 8pm daily. I made an appointment on their website (they had many same-day appointments available) and even found a promo code online that takes $50 off your services! You have to enter a brief description of your pet & your credit card info (they charge you if you cancel or no show). Parking wasn't too hard to find when I arrived at 6pm on a Monday and upon entering you are greeted with a gorgeous waiting area and super friendly staff. You can tell they put a lot into the appearance of this location from the furniture to lighting to free dog snacks, balls, and toothbrushes. The staff was able to find my appointment right away and had me email them my dogs past vaccine records. Everyone was extremely friendly and I was taken to the back right away. We did a brief intake with a tech then the vet came in a few minutes later. She gave great advice regarding what I feed my dog, recommendations for cleaning his ears, and did an in-house lab test to see what was growing in my dogs ears. She recommended a few extra things that I decided were not necessary but I understand it's her job to put everything on the table. The tech then went over the price of everything and once I signed they did all the services I agreed to. They also had a tech come and demonstrate how to properly clean his ears. They gave my dog treats throughout and I could tell he wasn't as nervous as he usually is. I waited in the lobby while they finished in the back & paid about $300 for all the services ($125 is the base for an exam + add ons like meds, lab work, etc). Most urgent care vets run high so I wasn't surprised at the price but I honestly felt great about this experience. My dog left absolutely happy and energetic which is very rare for a vet visit. The staff is soo friendly & it truly felt like a luxury experience. There is also a survey link in the lobby you can fill out & get a free bag of treats! If I ever have any other emergencies I will surely be back! read more

2nd time this week trying to get a wellness appointment for my dog :( I stopped by on Monday for a scheduled 6pm appt and at 6:55pm they told me they could no longer see my dog. They said they only had one vet on staff and had a few emergencies come up. Things like this happen of course and I was very understanding but disappointed and scheduled a new appt for today at 11am. I was running 10 mins behind for my 11am appt because I could not locate my dogs records-- turns out Bond Vet never gave them back to me on Monday. I spoke to them en route to their office and said I was late because I couldn't find her records to which they said they actually had them and would see me soon. I walked in at 11:14 and they said they could no longer see me because of their 10 min late policy. I wish they could have showed me a tiny bit of grace that I showed them on Monday. The appointment process was painless and the system is accompanied with an actual app - similar in sophistication to NYU Langone Health APP for humans. The space is adorable clean and tidy. The team of people are truly professional. Visit was clear concise and allowed me to walk away confident in what the Doctor counseled me on. Good job so far. What an amazing clinic. I was so worried about my fur baby. With so many other vets in Brooklyn being overpriced including ER vet clinics. Greeted by amazing staff at reception. DO NOT GO HERE - shoddy operation that is potentially harmful to your pet We booked a same-day urgent care appointment for our dog as she was having severe GI issues and discomfort with blood in her stool. The vet ordered a fecal test which we dropped off the next day. They promised to call us the next day with results but we never heard from them. We assumed it must've come back normal but we called today (3 days later) just to confirm. When we called, they advised that the test did come back positive for antigens for giardia and tapeworm and that we needed to pick up 3 different types of prescription medication. When we asked why we weren't informed sooner, the answer was just "the doctor must've not been in" -- no apologies or proper explanation as to how this could've been missed. The lack of care and concern was baffling and problematic considering we clearly came in for an emergency. The vet also mentioned that if her symptoms didn't get better, it could be potentially more concerning. Our dog has been sick and experiencing discomfort for almost a week now. We could've started her treatment two days ago. What if this was a life threatening condition? How are we supposed to trust that our dog was even examined properly or given the right treatment? During our visit, it seemed as if there were so many treatments being recommended -- was this to just make sure our bill was as high as possible? Maybe so as there was no concern for follow up. It seems like Bond Vet is more about profiting off of dog parents' fears versus providing proper care and treatment. This is not how a vet clinic should be run and this type of sloppiness and ambivalence to their patients' wellbeing and treatment is very dangerous. read more

I went here because my dogs original vet was on vacation and I've been to the bond vet in Chelsea during Covid, so I decided to go to the bond vet closer to me now that it was around my area. The vet at bond vet wanted to do an ultrasound even though I went there for my dogs leaking abscess, but I agreed to one anyways because my dog was due for one and the price wasn't so bad. The vet told me my dog needed to be put down in one to two weeks due to his kidney being enlarged even though I went to the vet because my dog had an abscess that was leaking. My dog is a senior pup and has been having kidney issues for a year and is on a prescription diet because of it (which I explained), so he has been dealing with it for quite some time already and his vet was aware. The vet at bond was pushing to do both the abscess draining and to put my pup down one to two weeks after getting rid of the abscess with them, which would have been expensive and pointless if my dog was to be put down after and I didn't want my dog to go through such pain with the abscess then to be put down right after. I thought that wasn't so compassionate of them to even suggest that my dog would go through such if it was going to be his last moments. They did not do much about the abscess but cleaned around it because I wanted to think about it and was crying because I thought I had to put my pup down, even though he's still eating and walking. He has slight arthritis but he's a senior and still is willing to always walk. Thankfully I didn't go on with further treatment from bond vet and waited for my vet to come back from vacation. When I talked to my vet over the phone and told him about the enlarged kidney and how I didn't understand why I was told this even though my dog is almost 17 in about a month, but walks and eats just fine. My vet told me he couldn't believe I was told that and that it would have been a different case if my pup was not eating and walking. He told me my dogs a fighter and we will keep fighting with him. I'm glad I waited for my vet and followed up with him today and my dog was given great treatment as always by his vet compared to bond vet who wanted to charge me $600 for draining my dogs abscess and to put him down for another $1000 if I remember correctly. I would say that the receptionist was very kind to my pup and gave me extra treats to take home for him, which was very nice of her. Other than that, I would not trust to bring my pup here again. It caused me a lot of stress and anxiety for the past few days because of it. read more

Brought my dog in because of an emergency (fractured tooth after playing with my other dog). It was super easy to schedule an appointment for the next day and the vet I spoke with reached out to other vets in the bond vet network that had dental experience to get others' opinions on treatment. We decided it would be best to get it extracted and they were able to schedule the procedure for the very next day at their surgery center in the upper east side. They were very communicative throughout the whole process so that I wouldn't be charged with anything additional without my consent (I ended up opting for an added treatment of a dental sealant on my dog's teeth to prevent plaque and buildup for the next 6 months). Super happy with them and will be going to them for all of my pets' needs in the future. read more

I love my regular vet, but the appointment I got for my cat to have his rabies booster was not for three weeks, and since that was past the due date, I checked into Bond. The website made it easy to book an appointment, and I got one for the next day! The office is nice, and the staff is friendly. The vet tech, Catrelle, was super nice and was extremely gentle as he handled my cat for vitals. He had a great touch and Franklin was very comfortable. Dr. Aldridge was also very nice and professional as she gave Franklin a quick exam and suggested a supplement, which we got there. He was then taken to the treatment room, where a nurse gave him his shot while I waited in the examination room. The cost was very reasonable, and the staff showed kindness and competence. read more

Front desk woman is extremely rude. My cat had an appointment yesterday for a blood test for an upcoming procedure. She wanted to charge me an extra 300, she said it wasn't included in the price that was previously discussed. I showed her my phone of the breakdown of what was included, so there shouldn't be an extra charge. I legit handed her my phone. She glanced but refused to really look into it by asking or contacting someone. Asked for proof on her end that it's not included, she said I'm telling you that it's not. So I went outside and had to call the surgical team myself to resolve the issue. 6 minute phone call later, the woman on the phone said she'll take care of it. Jessica was great and emailed me right away, like as soon as I sat back inside I received the email. Front desk woman is now whispering to another woman and looking at me. Real mature move, no no not really. Moments later a gentleman walks out and told me not to listen to what the front desk woman said that. That she was wrong. The front desk woman goes to the back. The guy takes my cat, everything is settled. As I'm checking with the new front desk person to make sure everything is all good, the original rude desk attendant comes out and starts pointing at my chart and rolling her eyes. An apology for your disgusting, uncalled for vile disrespect would have been nice, especially since you were wrong. Since it happened yesterday, it should still be on camera. Look into her behavior, fix the situation. None of that was necessary. I will NEVER recommend anyone or be returning with my cat. read more

I will never bring my dog here again and do not recommend this place. I just recently brought my family dog back with me to NYC after visiting my parents out of state because they couldn't take care of her anymore due to financial reasons. To my horror, as soon as I got her to my apartment I noticed she was drinking tons of water and had blood in her urine. I brought her to Bond vet only because it was the only place I could get an appointment and I figured it would be cheaper than taking her to an emergency vet. While the receptionist was nice, the tech and vet I met with were extremely cold, and seemed to only care about her being intact. During the physical exam they felt a lump in her abdomen and heard a heart murmur, which they immediately said could either be cancer or pyometra and that she likely had heart disease/heart failure. This insane, worst case scenario diagnosis was before they even recommended the $1500 worth of bloodwork, urine tests, ultrasound etc that I eventually okayed. After the bloodwork, which looked abysmal to be honest, the vet told me (dryly and with absolutely no empathy) that she was 90% sure my dog had pyometra and probably heart failure/heart disease and told me to go to the Verg where she'd have to have emergency surgery that would cost me $6000 or she'd die. I immediately burst into tears because, although she was underweight and clearly uncomfortable, she was otherwise pretty normal: energetic, happy to go on walks, eating well, etc. Long story short, I get to Verg and everyone there is extremely nice and also extremely confused as to why I was told she had pyometra because, according to the vet there she had "absolutely no symptoms or signs of pyometra." They also noted that her heart murmur was low grade (a II, so not that concerning). What she did have was two very large bladder stones which she would need surgery to remove but that surgery could be scheduled elsewhere because she was still able to urinate. The fact that Bond Vet went to the absolute worst possibility from the onset caused me unnecessary stress, especially when bladder stones are so common for my dog's breed. What's crazy is that I spent less money at Verg getting actual answers than I did at Bond Vet where I only got emotionally pummeled. I would absolutely not recommend going here if you need to see a vet fast. Just go to Verg or some other emergency vet instead. read more

This is the worst vet that I have ever taken my cat to they literally tried to charge me more money for things that my cat didn't even need knowing that I can get it elsewhere for cheap. I literally had to ask them "what does my cat need right now that they cannot leave without?", they looked so dumbfounded when I asked that question. It also felt like the veterinary had no idea what they were doing because when I asked them what does my cat have that is causing her to lose her hair they literally said to me they don't know. read more

I brought my dog into Bond Vet Park Slope back in November for a routine exam and to update his vaccinations. I have a regular vet but thought I would give them a try since they were new in the neighborhood and they seemed to be a friendly option. Everything seemed to be good until the vet came in to examine my dog. My dog was incredibly anxious and the vet didn't seem to know how to approach him. I ended up taking him home without him getting a real exam or any of his vaccinations done but still paid the exam fee. Neither the vet or the technician seemed to be comfortable handling him or even trying. They suggested I give him a sedative before bringing him back in. I should have taken his reaction as a sign. I ended up not bringing my dog back to Bond but when my cat fell ill a couple of weeks ago I decided to give them another try. I explained to the receptionist who was very kind that my cat seemed to be straining to urinate and I was concerned she could either have a blockage or some sort of UTI. They told me to come back later that afternoon. I brought her back to be examined by the vet. I was of course very worried. The technician triaged my cat and spoke to me about all my concerns. She was gentle with my cat and I appreciated her kindness. When she returned with the vet it was a totally different vibe. Dr. Lanae Aldridge was incredibly cold and condescending. She barely looked at me or touched my cat when listening to my concerns but gave me a list of diagnostic tests that she thought should be done. One of the tests she suggested was an ultrasound and when I asked about what the procedure entailed and what the risks in doing it would be she responded in a condescending tone with "Well I'm a trained professional" which didn't answer my question. Needless to say I didn't trust her to care for my cat and took her home. I expressed my unhappiness to the receptionist and honestly didn't seem shocked. Dr. Lanae Aldridge has an awful uncaring attitude and it was literally the worse experience at a vets office I've ever had. I ended up taking my cat to Verg the next morning and it was a completely different experience. They were not only kind and caring when I brought my cat in but they were thoughtful and intelligent in her diagnosis. They thoroughly explained what was happening with my cat and what testing they felt was necessary. Its already stressful and upsetting to have to bring your pet in when they are ill but it makes it so much worse to be treated rudely and coldly by someone who is supposed to be caring for them. This is a followup post about Bond Vet and my cat Oscar. Oscar has been doing OK, meaning he asks for food which is the criteria most meaningful at this point. After the last episode not being able to get lain meds for Oscar, a manager intervened and OK'd filling the prescription. He has been on .4mls x 3 per day, or .6 mls twice a day. But....yesterday he ate less and I saw that his eye on the cancer side looked really bad. That was it. It was time. I called this AM for a euthanasia appointment. I gave Oscar .8 mls hoping he would be really calm for a vet visit. He is a cat that is really not vet friendly and I wanted him to be as peaceful as possible. I was shocked that I actually could not get him into the carrier..it was the opposite of peaceful..it was a violent and terrible experience; he clawed and bit and fought like 10 cats. I could not do it. Crying hysterically, I gave up. New strategy was to get a hard carrier ... the soft one I had just could not work. Asking for help would not help; he has always been very shy and runs away when he sees other people. I called Bond vet to cancel the euthanasia appt and to ask for pain meds as I had only .4 mls left. I called the call center - you cannot speak to the actual office. I said I needed to pickup pain meds for a few days until I could figure out how to get a new carrier and hopfully get him there. I was told the call center would call the nurse who would call the office for the medication. Subsequent text received saying I could pickup. Went to pickup and .. again! Nightmare. As previous: "The doctor isn't comfortable prescribing the medication for a cat she hasn't seen." I flipped out ... The doctor feels fine leaving Oscar without pain medication. Oscar - who is dependent on pain medication for what quality of life he has. But she is just not "comfortable" with prescribing a controlled substance for a cat she hasn't seen. The manager who previously intervened supported the decision not to give pain meds. The offer, as pevious, was for an alternative medication (Gabepentin.) As I said in my 1st review, I have this medication. It is absolutely not what is recommended for terminal cancer pain. It just sedates; it does not affect the brain's pain receptors. Right now, I feel like this is one of the worst days of my life. I cannot bear the thought of my Oscar being in pain. I will somehow get him in for euthanasia tomorrow. Going now to find a hard carrier and will hope and pray that I can get him in a carrier. I will not be going back to Bond vet. There is something very very wrong with a veterinary hospital that supports the misguided idea that it is OK to leave a cancer patient in pain because - having not seen the patient - a doctor is not "comfortable" prescribing pain meds for a few days under these circumstances. I do not know who or what they are trying to protect, but it is certainly not the interests of their patients.
