Went there around 1am due to extreme swelling and excruciating pain in my wrist. Dr ordered X-ray…read moreand said it's arthritis. I told him no it's not. My arthritis has never given me an issue whatsoever. If he would have just looked at my wrist, he would have seen bite marks that I saw the next day when I got the swelling down. He wouldn't even look and kept insisting it was arthritis. Then they charged me $3834.00 for just walking in and had numerous wrong charges including chemo meds on my bill for a total of over $6400. I spoke to the billing department who is sending it up for an audit. But seriously, $3834.00 for just walking in. Thankfully, I have Medicare and Tricare but still. Check your statements people!!

I was there on March 21st; I went in with severe pain and had to wait over three hours to be seen…read more I cried, vomited, and writhed in pain because no one was coming to attend to me. When they finally took me for an X-ray, they told me I had a kidney stone and said they would administer treatment. However, when they came to administer it, they didn't use gloves or take any precautions; their equipment touched their clothes, and they had just been eating--I saw them do it. I told them I didn't want to stay there, so they made me sign a form stating that I was refusing treatment. The next day, they called to tell me my condition was critical; when I went to ask about it, they insisted again that I stay. I refused once more, so they asked if I would at least agree to receive the treatment. To my utter shock, they took me into a *bathroom* to give me the injection--a bathroom where I had seen people going in to vomit. It smelled terrible, I had to stand the whole time, and they handled everything with the very same hands that had touched everything in that bathroom. Since then, I've tried to get in touch because I received a $2,800 bill that I cannot afford to pay, but every time I call, the service is terrible and no one gives me an answer. Their service is horrible; there is no hygiene or care, and the staff are extremely rude. I find it absurd to have to pay $2,800 for a three-hour wait and poor service.

Dear Customer Service,…read more I am writing to express my disappointment with the care and treatment I received in the CMC Emergency Department on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m. Before I begin, I want to make it clear that I have always had outstanding experiences with CMC. About three and a half years ago, when I moved to this area, I decided that CMC would be my healthcare provider because every doctor, nurse, and staff member I had encountered was kind, compassionate, and made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, my experience in the Emergency Department was completely different. When I arrived, the gentleman working at the registration desk did not acknowledge or greet me. I had to approach him and ask if this was where I needed to register. Instead of welcoming me or asking how he could help, the first thing he told me was that there were a lot of people waiting, there were no beds available, and that I would have a long wait. He repeated this several times throughout our interaction. At the time, there were only about five people in the waiting room. Whether there were five people or fifty people should not matter to someone seeking emergency medical care. Patients come to the Emergency Department because they are worried about their health, and hearing repeatedly how long the wait will be only adds to their anxiety. While checking me in, I explained that I was experiencing chest pain that was radiating down my left arm. His response was, "I don't care about your arm. Tell me more about the chest pain." I understand that he may have been trying to focus on the most urgent symptom, but the way he said it was dismissive and lacked compassion. There are much more professional and caring ways to communicate with a patient who is frightened and not feeling well. The night before, I had spoken with the on-call physician, who advised me to go to the Emergency Department because of my symptoms. Since it was late at night, I told the doctor I would come first thing in the morning unless my condition became worse, in which case I would call an ambulance. I tried several times to explain this, along with my other medical concerns, but I was never given the opportunity. In addition to my chest pain, my legs and feet had become extremely swollen. My physician, Dr. Boykin, had prescribed medication to help reduce the fluid buildup because there was concern that my kidneys might not be functioning properly. The medication was not helping, and that was another important reason I came to the Emergency Department. Unfortunately, I felt as though no one wanted to hear about those concerns. After my EKG was completed and I was told I was not having a heart attack, I became so discouraged by the way I had been treated that I decided to leave without receiving further evaluation. Looking back, I realize that was probably not the best decision, but I simply no longer felt comfortable staying. No patient should ever feel driven to leave an emergency department because they feel dismissed or unwelcome. I also heard a nurse yelling loudly in the background while I was checking in. I do not know what the situation was, but from a patient's perspective, it came across as chaotic and unprofessional. I understand that emergency departments can be extremely busy and stressful. I also understand that staff members deal with difficult situations every day. However, those circumstances should never prevent patients from being treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. I do not know the name of the employee who checked me in. He was a gentleman with gray hair working the registration desk that Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m. I ask that you identify him and address this matter appropriately. Whether that involves coaching, additional customer service training, or another corrective action is your decision. I simply do not want another patient to have the same experience I had. Again, I want to emphasize that this complaint is not about CMC as a whole. My experiences with your physicians, nurses, and office staff have consistently been excellent, which is exactly why this incident was so shocking and disappointing. I would appreciate hearing from someone regarding this matter and learning what steps will be taken to address my concerns. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering my feedback. Sincerely, Rob H 11-01--64

FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES! Update on this review: CMC hospital is still billing me to this day…read more In fact, now their anesthesiologists has joined the party, and is also billing. PLEASE STOP BILLING ME. GET IT TOGETHER CMC AND FIX YOUR BILLING SYSTEM ONCE AND FOR ALL. I have a balance of 87.10 on my account and now the new anesth. bill. Once again, I have two insurance policies. If any balance remains after the first policy pays, the second policy pays the rest. This is the first time in over 20 years that I have EVER had this problem - only with CMC. Please have a heart, please fix this. My mom is worn out from trying to help me with this. 15 calls now. The supervisor in billing promised to take care of this, yet the stress continues. I would have given this hospital five stars, but because of there billing department they deserve a 1 star rating. I had nasal surgery October of last year and I am not supposed to be billed at all because I am on dual insurance coverage. What one does not pay, the other does. Dr. Darin Sutton was a great doctor but the billing at CMC is awful. My mother has called in 10 times now. Today we spoke with Destin, before that it was Rose, Tammy, Brittany, and a bunch of other staff in billing. We were told many times to call our insurance, although my insurance said that the hospital/office should not be billing or bothering me at all. My mom has spent lots of time trying to get this fixed, but I still show a balance. The last lady my mom spoke with actually said that the bill would go to collections if we don't pay. I have never been billed for a dime from any doctor or health office. My insurance pays for all of my medical needs. This is stressful and neither of us would use CMC again. Another 45 minute call begging for CMC to file the claim, and stop billing us.

Bizarre experience. My dad went in for flu/covid/strep tests as he had been sick for over a week…read more The Dr. was showing an extreme amount of cleavage, kept flitting her hair back, and spoke as if she were explaining life lessons to kindergardeners- that if you're retired you have plenty of time to take care of yourself, wash your linens, wash your hands, etc. Yeah....and you can still get sick, ya clown. She had him open his mouth and then didnt even look in. It was comical. Her followup phone call complete with "darling" and "hon" and all that was as unprofessional as the cleavage. Leave it at home lady... Other than that, receptionist was fine, area was clean. Nurse who cleaned ears was lovely. We were first ones there so no wait.

Just moved to the area and haven't found a doctor yet. So unfortunately had to come here. I will…read morestart by saying I think I got an unfair shake. Even though the facility is clean and the doctors were nice I still don't think I will chance coming back here again. Too many other options in the area that'll try first. My story goes . . . I showed up at 7:45 and there was already 3 people in line. Before they opened at 8am there was 4 more people behind me waiting in line. I got a faulty iPad for checkin and the receptionist forgot to take my license and insurance card. One or both caused me to lose my place in line. By the time I was called, everyone waiting when they opened including all 4 people after me AND two people who were not even in line at opening had been called. Yes there is a sign that says patience can be called out of order for visits that do not involve a doctor but at least two that came after me needed to be tested for strep & I assume that would require a doctor. So I know for sure my place in line was lost.
