I had the best customer service last Sunday morning. I went in with a bug in my phone and the woman that helped me was determined to fix it. Also she helped 3 other customers while doing my phone repairs, which shows true multitasking and initiative. She is top notch!! read more

I'm always working and very busy, but I finally made time to finish this. If you don't want to read this document in its entirety, basically I was a Verizon customer for 8 years until this past black Friday because of a very disrespectful woman that works at the Victra/Verizon retailer store located at: 131 Colonie Ctr Ste 330 Albany, NY 12205. This store clearly has a history of making both companies look bad, as seen on this site. Note: I'm a calm person and never yell or argue. Anyway, I've had a pair of Moto z3s through Verizon that I still owed many months on but they both had problems that were getting worse. It got to the point where my wife's wouldn't stay on longer than 30 seconds and mine would shut down whenever I used my camera application. Before you jump to conclusions, I troubleshoot and repair cellphones on the side for family and friends for fun. These devices had hardware issues. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of standing around in stores, so I paid off my balances on my 2 dysfunctional phones so I could just upgrade early and pickup new phones because I NEEDED them. So, at noon on 11/29/19, I ordered 2 new phones for pickup at 131 Colonie Ctr Ste 330 Albany, NY 12205 because they were the only place that had the phones in stock. I showed up around 5:30pm and the only woman that was working there "helped" me. She told me their processing system went down and they got part of one phone and none of the other phone processed and that I wouldn't be able to take either phone until the system was back up which could be 5 mins or even days. I didn't say anything but obviously had a disappointed look on my face as I looked down trying to figure out how my wife, who takes care of my 2 year old girl and my 4 year old autistic son, is going to get by without any means of communication while I work 12 hours a day, an hour drive away. I simply said "Listen, I really need these phones. The ones I have don't even function anymore and I paid off my balances so that I could get these ones today". The Woman the laughed at me and said, "You paid off your phone balances online?!" She threw her arms up and nearly yelled "If you had come into the store, we could have taken $200 off each phone! Why didn't you check our promotions! That's why we tell people to come into the store!". Obviously, this didn't need to be said and there was no reason to tell me this other than to try and humiliate and frustrate me even more. I said, "Well is there anything we can do?". The other employee from before said "You could cancel the online order and then purchase the phones through us directly". Sounded like a solution to me despite the fact I know that I'd be helping this terrible woman. I agreed and she said she can't cancel the order and directed to cancel the order. Couldn't give me any specific instructions or hints "Just cancel THE ORDERS!" she said. After searching the site, the app and my emails I couldn't find a way to "cancel". "I'm only finding this refund option, but it say's I'll owe for $50 for each device?" "I don't know" she said. The other employee from before said "maybe not". Then I said, "Are you absolutely sure you can't just cancel the order through your store?" The other employee piped up again and said "Oh, yeah we can do that." He started showing the woman and she said "Oh, right. Just like the other day". Finally, after a few minutes of silence (except from the other 4 male employees gossiping with each other, She said "Ok, it's cancelled. We just have to wait for it to update on your account." I replied, "How long does that normally take?". "I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see. You should get an email or something". "Alright" I said. I sat down and waited for about 5 minutes, knowing nothing was going to happen and then I did the only thing I could do. While the group of large employees stood and continued to gossip I walked out to AT&T across the hall. There isn't any data service at my house with AT&T but there were no games and I got a good deal overall. I returned to the Verizon/Victra store and walked up to the counter, nobody noticing my existence until standing at the counter for about 10 seconds. Finally, the woman notices, "What?". I said "I still haven't received anything from Verizon. Can you please check and see if that order did get canceled?" She asked me for my number and PIN for the 5th time in the past 2 hours and I gave it to her again. She typed it in and then threw her hands up violently and yelled "WELP! YA PORTED YOUR NUMBER OVER SO I CAN'T CHECK ANYTHING!!" I nodded at her with a neutral face and turned away and left as she continued to yell at me. It's amazing how much a single, simple service rep has stained both Victra's and Verizon's reputation and lowered their profits. AT&T doesn't have as good coverage, so I don't in fact have 4G service at my house, but at least my wife can still dial 911 in an emergency. read more

Not impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The boys wear their pants below their underwear. They talked me into buying all my accessories their charging me an additional $156.65. Double what it would of cost me at home if I checked on amazon. Take for example they charged me $54.99 for a Puregear curved glass for the google 2XL and I went home and looked it up on amazon for $16.95. And a Speck presidio grip google pixel xl 2 case for $44.99 and amazon has it priced for $23.97. I also picked up some charging cords etc without thinking of checking online. Probably could of saved 80-90 dollars. read more

This store in Colonie center needs a revamp some of employees.The treatment I received from the assistant manager, Antaeus Crane was horrible and I felt embarrassed and bullied . I walked into the store on 12/17/17 @ approx 4:15pm where this poor excuse of an assistant manager asked me if I had a quick question as he was taking care of other customers. He said is it quick, a quick question (rude) I said I wanted to buy Verizon insurance for my new iPhone 8 that I just purchased from Target. He actually began bullying me asking me how much I paid for it and why didn't I give his store the business. He told me that Verizon won't insure my phone and that the belkin glass protector I bought at Target is useless. There were other customers in the store and all were staring. I was so upset at the way he was yelling and bullying me I told him I didn't want to deal with him and to stop talking to me. I asked for his name and he ripped his name tag off his shirt and slammed it on the counter. At this point another employee came to my rescue her name is Thanasia and apologized for his uncalled for behavior and took care of all my needs. I sent a letter of complaint to the correspondence team in Columbia SC and explained in detail exactly what happened and asked them to get back to me to let me know what steps were taken to stop this kind of behavior from their employees. Haven't heard one word from them and this horrible employee is still working in that store. SHAMEFUL that Verizon conducts business this way.......very unhappy! Next stop my attorney!! I am appalled at the way we were treated at this store. We went in for protection for a cell phone and were talked into 'getting a free notebook' - not true!!!! - and everything to go with it. We were given Shutterfly gift cards 'under the table' worth $140 and were very excited. However, we were not told that we could only use one of them (worth $20) and the others were useless to us, except to give to others. When I went to complain, and my salesperson was not there, I was told a very weak,"I'm sorry but I always tell my consumers that they can't use more than one Shutterfly gift card, but you can give the others away as gifts!" I asked for the money the cards would have given me as an exchange but was told they could/would not do that. They were not interested in my complaints. They are unapologetic con men working there and you need to be very aware of the scams they perpetrate. As we were leaving, the salesman said, "You'll get a survey in the mail. If you didn't like what I did please don't answer it, but if you think I did a good job, please give me all 10's and my supervisors will be very happy, as I will be."
