Can you hear me now? Yes, I can! I popped into this corner Verizon Retail store to pay my bill. The folks were welcoming and helpful. They took care of my payment and then proceeded to save me a few dollars a month on my next bill by working their magic. I prefer the main Verizon store on Broad, but since these employees were so accommodating, I may frequent this location more often. By the way, am I the only one who is livid that the guy who used to do the Verizon commercials became a traitor and now is the spokesman for Sprint? Came to the store to solve issues beyond my control and the associate, Greg, was disrespectful and confrontational. Store manager had to step in and back him off. Not sure what his problem was but I recommend avoiding him, or even the whole store, altogether. On a positive note, Darrell gets 10/10 for stepping in and solving my issue smoothly despite the nuances and coordinating solutions with remote customer service reps. My old Samsung phone was having problems, so I headed into the closest VZW-branded place to see what's up. I did wind up w/a new phone, but the guy I worked with was super at figuring out a smokin' deal for me, with trade-in on the old phone and some tweaks to the unlimited plan I have. Now I can even stream Disney+ on my phone, and my monthly bill will be around $10 lower than it was. If you head in there, all the folks working there seem really nice - I worked with Archie Ruffin, who was outstanding. read more

I had a horrible customer service interaction in this store. I came in due to having trouble setting up my Apple Watch that was purchased at another store out of town. I was told in order for them to correct the issue they would have to charge me $40 because It would take an hour. I'm a Verizon customer so I didnt understand and the associate said its due to them being an individually contracted store. I then asked if I could trade in my old Apple Watch, the guy looked at it and said "yes you can but you won't get much for it because the screen is cracked". I had a screen protector on it which was peeling off on the side, the screen wasn't cracked at all... just seems like he wasn't paying any attention and just didn't want to do much except sit there at his desk. I peeled the screen protector off and showed him the watch again and He just stared at me. He was also rude to my mom who was looking at the display phones and inquiring about the prices with another associate who didn't have any customers. He yelled from across the store "ma'am I can help you over here, we have a rotation". There was no one waiting and she was just asking questions separate from the situation I was dealing with. I went to this store to get my last phone upgrade a couple years back and had no issues but this situation will cause me not to return in the future and advise friends and family in the area to chose a different store. I don't buy new phones often so I had lots of questions about features, prices, etc. I wasn't even sure I'd make a purchase. I worked with Bill, who couldn't have been kinder. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He's an excellent adviser, instructor and representative for Verizon. I did purchase a new phone with no qualms or questions. It was his patience and professionalism that allowed me the space to make the decision. On the rare occasion that I do want an updated phone, I go to this location and have always been satisfied. This time I was really impressed! I highly recommend this Verizon store and Bill, in particular. read more

I'm a longtime Verizon customer and am reasonably tech-savvy. Came in several months ago with a software issue on my iPhone. I had just updated to the new iOS the night before and there had been some issues... eventually the new iOS was installed but I discovered later that my cell service was not reactivating like it should have. Went in to the store at the corner of Parham and Patterson to see if they could do anything to get my cell service reactivated. The guy I spoke to looked at my phone, said it was in bad shape (it wasn't really) and there was nothing that could be done to fix it, I just needed a new phone. I told him I couldn't believe it was a hardware issue because the thing had been working fine, no issues whatsoever, up until the update. He said I just had to buy a new phone. I was skeptical and decided to try again to fix it myself. I went home and retried the iOS update and it worked just fine, cell service was established and I didn't have to buy a new phone like the guy said. The phone is still working well today. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he was just lazy. Maybe he didn't think about retrying the update. Maybe he was just looking for the commission. But I came away thinking there's probably a lot of people out there that just go ahead and buy the new phone because the expert at Verizon told them that was what they had to do, and in this case anyway, the expert was wrong. That by itself would be OK -- we all make mistakes -- but he diagnosed my problem so confidently and curtly, it left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Worst customer service ever! The people who work here don't even acknowledge your presence when you walk in. If they are busy helping other customers, they could have at least say, we'll be right with you! I just walked in to pay a bill, in cash. The only reason why I come to this location is because it's close to my house. I prefer to use cash, I don't use credit cards and only use my debit card when needed. Cash is my prefer method of payment. I will be contacting management in the morning! I have been a loyal Verizon customer for years and would expect a little common courtesy and better customer service for the amount of money we spend with this company. read more

Last spring (2015) I came into this store with a specific question in mind. I spoke to one of their agents and asked this question, "If my daughter leaves my family plan, will we encounter any fees or other charges if she takes her phone and number to another carrier." The agent didn't even look at my account and said No. I assumed that this was Verizon's policy and walked out the door. Within two months, I had a termination fee of $350 from Verizon and another two months a fee from Verizon Cellular sales for $438 for my daughter's phone. Despite my complaints to both Verizon and Verizon Cellular Sales (this included phone calls, letters and a visit to this store-the manager told me I needed to speak to the main office of Cellular Sales), I was stuck with these fees. When one walks into a store and asks an employee a direct question, one expects the information the employee gives them to be correct, especially when so many funds are at stake. One would also expect a company to attempt some sort of compromise. I wrote a detailed letter to this store with the facts of my situation and no one from this store responded. Prior to this encounter, I had frequented this store often as I have family and friends who leave in this area. Up until this time, I had great service and had recommended this store. I found this incident not only disappointing because the agent gave me incorrect and costly information, but also because no one made any attempt to rectify this situation despite my complaints. read more
