I went to the Smithtown Verizon store, where I had originally purchased my phone, because I had an issue with retrieving my emails. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. It is not a corporate store. It is "Wireless Zone", in which they can manipulate the charges and in the end over charge you and then pocket money. Did not realize that until we compared our store receipt to the Verizon bill we received in the mail. Called Verizon customer service and they confirmed there was $100 unspoken for. They also confirmed "Wireless Zone" did not upload our receipt/transaction to our Verizon account. Had they, Verizon CS would have been able to review all said charges without us having to go through the itemized receipt. Long story short, the plans we were promised (2 new cellphones and 1 Ipad) were not at the monthly discussed rate and our FIOS account was $20 more dollars than discussed. LUCKILY, the lovely Verizon CS lady refunded us the $100 overcharge and adjusted our packages to the CORRECT monthly amount. read more

Alright, here's the deal. The personnel at the store are helpful and attentive, though I did need to track the status of my cell phone shipment and call them when it arrived (a day earlier) rather than them calling me. There is a decent selection of accessories and phones on display, and I was in and out of the store with my new phone activated and my old phone wiped and ready for return to Verizon for trade-in within an hour. All that being said, what really pissed me off and resulted in such a bleak rating was primarily the fact that I realized, after getting into my car, that I was charged a Ready Go (aka Set Up And Go) fee of $29.99. At first I thought I was being charged that because the salesperson helped me prep my phone for wiping and set up the new one, which pissed me off enough given that the "set-up" consisted of telling me how to prep my phone for wiping and logging into my iCloud account. Imagine my lividness when I did a Google search to find out that it's a fee charged by independent authorized Verizon retailers that aren't actually Verizon corporate locations. I suppose I would've been less angry about that if the location actually identified itself as it's true name, TCC. But it doesn't. There's a giant Verizon logo on the front of the building and nothing else. Couple that with the fact that I asked the salesperson multiple times to apply my accrued device dollars to my total bill and told that he did, only to find out when I got home and logged into my account that my device dollars are still there and they weren't applied. Impartially, one of these two issues is on Verizon as a company for allowing authorized retailers to portray themselves as corporate locations and charge a hidden fee. The other issue is clearly on the salesperson. I reluctantly give two stars instead of one, just because at the end of the day the service that I did receive was timely and my sales rep was nice. read more

If only 0 stars was an option... my iPhone is having issues with the sound. My alarms won't make any sound and when put on silent the phone is still ringing. When restarting the phone it works at first then goes back to not working correctly. I walked in and a man and girl were sitting there, I tell them the issue and he restarts the phone. He goes to set an alarm to try out the problem AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SET AN ALARM what a joke. From that point they tell me my only option is to upgrade and I walk out amazed that a person working at Verizon can't set an alarm or even attempt another way to solve the issue. He didn't even check the sound settings in my phone. To make it even better, while driving away I see the man washing his car out front of the store!!!! read more

I was told $175 one time charge would cover a new phone with my new contract. Later found I was being charged $26 per month x24 months in addition to the $175. Total scam. STAY AWAY! I would give negative stars if I could. Sales rep made up lies to close the deal. 1. Said if we bought the tempered glass screen protector and register online that the company replaces it for free no matter the reason (also said it was the best screen protector). It fogged up next day and when we went to take it off it broke...guess what no such thing as free replacement unless it's a manufacturing defect. 2. Said for each iPhone 6 we bought we are emailed a code for $100 vzw store credit. After we paid we were told that would not be until the first of the next month. When we didn't get said email we called Verizon who called this store and they denied ever offering that! I cannot begin to explain my utter shock and disappointment in This "Verizon" Authorized Retailer in Smithtown. Heed my warning Stay Away!! Walk in there on a Saturday morning and you'll find 1 yes1! Sales Associate. This is the least of my concern but? Do notate it. My i phone was having issues for 3 weeks where I was unable to log into my "Apple ID". After an hour and a half of the sales associate being on the phone with Apple Customer Service I'm told " your phone was hacked" and "Go home and call this number" Guess what number I was given? Apple customer service. Wow! What amazing customer service this store provides! NOT Fast forward 4 weeks: I go into the store having done an early upgrade at the COMMACK store on Jericho Tpke outside Mayfair who provides Fantastic customer service!! I misplaced the original return label for my now old iPhone. I call Verizon 800 number and was told On A Recorded Line I was told I can go to ANY Verizon store to have them print out the return label. So? I went again to This store ask politely for the label to be printed with old iPhone. Wolah!! Guess what? They can't do it?! I drive back to Commack and simply explained I need a new shipping label show my old iPhone. No questions! I'm given the label and off I went to the post office. And?Yes! Just a heads up: I am very disappointed with the way Verizon Wireless in Smithtown, NY on Main Street dealt with a customer service issue since July 2014. I was told by the sales person that sold me my upgrade phone that it was only going to cost me $30. Well he lied and it cost me over $200. Then he told me that I was suppose to get a $150 rebate but never told me to fill out the form. When I saw the form at a much later date the rebate was only for $50. I decide to wait for the rebate prior to finding out the rebate form was needed and I did not get it. Well two more times with rebates forms filled out by management, still no rebate. The District Manager said that I could get store credit to spend it there. Well that doesn't help me out since I already bought a phone from them for over $200. This took over six months to come to this conclusion because of my persistent follow up once a month. Also don't ever wait for them to call you back when they say they will. I just wanted everyone to know about this because they may pull the fast one on you, like they did to me! read more
