One of the best things about being a local is knowing where to go for both the best and worst service. I'm happy to report that I come here for all my phone or plan needs. Chad Scharnhorst has been most helpful each and every time, (except on Monday's, his day off). He has helped me transition from a flip phone, to a Note 3 and now a Note 8. In addition my mom who is 77 and old school, comes up nearly every Wednesday with new questions on how to operate and make her phone friend not foe. Which is partly the reason for me posting this review, Chad doesn't need to spend an hour or two with her each week, but he does. He's never made her feel like a bother or unimportant. And trust me, I can only help her for a few minutes before I'm on sensory overload. Chad has even given us his personal cell phone number in case we screwed something up. And yes I have called a couple of times, because in the beginning I thought I had a smart allick phone and not a smart one. However soon realized it was operator error. Living in a small community has its ups and downs, but when you find a place that pays such close attention to customer service and satisfaction you feel very fortunate. I've tried the stores in Redlands and San Bernardino, and if feels rushed, that I'm only a number to make money off. Which in reality is why the store is there right, to turn a profit. But in Big Bear, its different, I feel they make a profit by having such a noble reputation and being above board. They take the time to be nice, sync your phone with your car, headphones, and anything else that might confuse a novice smart phone user. If Chad isn't there, the other employees are most helpful also. All in all I've got nothing but praise for this store and its employees. I'm sorry that all stores associated with Verizon aren't like this, because if they were, it would eliminate the competition altogether. I arrived to get a new service plan,when I arrived another couple was being helped by a rep with glasses.i didn't get his name . But was not acknowledged. I waited patiently anyway. Another man entered the store from another door and immediately, the rep stopped to welcome him to the store and let him know he would be helped as soon as possible. I felt like I was invisible. Then another rep came in arriving to work, and immediately noticed I was waiting and made sure I was being helped. I told him no,and explained the new plan I was looking for. I had a great experience because of Liz. She was so helpful and listened to everything I said. I came in wanting a new s10 however I missed the promotion and Liz worked with me until I found the phone I needed. She moved all of my photos, apps, and data to my new phone perfectly. It took some time to figure out since my last phone was pretty old but Liz figured it out. She got me a good case and screen protector, she even put the protector on for me with zero bubbles! I would give this place five stars but another sales person named Austin was talking loudly about infidelity with his wife, it was super gross. He tried to activate the phone to no avail. Then, working with Verizon customer service, and later a technical rep he was able to to successfully activate my phone. My phone died in Big Bear and I went to this place to replace it. I'm just going to make this simple, as with one other reviewer, I was left with a bunch of hidden charges and discrepancies on my bill. When I had trouble receiving text messages (exactly at the point that the two week warranty was up...warranty was up Aug 6, texting failed Aug 7) I took it to my local Verizon to determine the problem only to find out that this Big Bear store is NOT a Verizon store. It is independent from Verizon, making my transaction to fix my phone problem difficult. Verizon worked with me..they are great and I am able to return a faulty phone after the warranty because of all the hidden charges in my bill. read more

Trying to setup a phone I was given, planning only to use it as an iPod for now. Unbeknownst to me, Apple requires a SIM card to activate a phone even if you're not going to connect it to a cellular service. I was told by a Verizon employee that any SIM would work, as long as it wasn't a Verizon SIM. Walk into the store tonight and speak with Evan, give him the backstory and boom, he gets me squared away in short order with the proper information in hand. Went to Verizon store today to see if they could look at my S9 plus cause when I send videos they are very grainy. Employee put me on with tech support for 2 hours with no solution to the problem. Finally one of the salesmen finally came over to help instead of walking by and not trying to help. I ask why he didn't help earlier and he said cause this is not how he makes money??? He could of saved 2 hours of my time and he was kind of a smart ass. So now to send a clear video I have to go thru a process????? My phone is under warranty I would like it fixed or replaced. Should have read the reviews before I wasted my time trying to Purchase a phone outright - I went into the store to purchase a phone outright- was told it will be ordered and will be in by Friday (same time frame Amazon told me). Well it was late, I went to pick it up on following Tuesday. And was informed I can not buy it outright ??? So I declined . I went on the Verizon app and purchased it on their, and set up curb side pick up- well they told me the phone was sold. Called Verizon - they told me that they wouldn't have sold it to me if they didn't have it in stock, they had no idea why Vectra wouldn't sell it. I called Vectra customer service and they told me they will have it in next day - went in store to confirm, he said I should get it down the hill cause they don't have any. Don't waste your time here - cause they will waste your time ! Verizon offers two day shipping and the activation was 1/2 the cost Vectra wanted to charge - the phone was cheaper too.... The Manager was no help- I purchased 2 phones here in the past and will never return. read more

These guys are awesome! I already have a Verizon iphone x and plan, but they don't only sell phones. After being stranded in a winter storm, I decided minus as well go snowboarding and capture it on Go Pro. I called in to see if these guys have Go Pro SD cards after desperately trying to find some at Kmart that somehow still exists, and was relieved that Verizon carried them. Talked to Austin on the phone then was helped by Evan. Evan was extremely helpful, and even help us flatlanders jumpstart my car because my boyfriend left the headlights on. Good thing we didn't get stuck AND have a car that won't start. Now that's great customer service! Oh, and they are located in the same parking lot as Stater Bros. The address listed on yelp is their old location. Don't go there unless you want to look for a non-existing ghost ship. read more

Customers beware. I visited the Verizon store because my brand new LG was having issues. I was met with enthusiasm and kindness, as the technician listened to my problems, and quickly provided steps to try and resolve. I sat there, as they backed up all my contacts, photos, videos, and texts to the cloud (so we thought). Then proceeded with the factory reset, which promptly followed with the download from the cloud. My first question was, are you sure ALL my photos will be safe ? I was answered with "of course". The process completed, and off I went. A short time later, I went to re-organize my photos, and noticed two years missing 2019-2020. I went back to the store, and asked why. The technician Austin, took a quick glance at the phone, and said, just be patient, that many files can take 24 hours to download. I was thinking BS, but decided to leave and wait. Surprise ! 24 hours later, no pictures - NONE. I went back once again, this time to be told "Well, there must be something wrong with the cloud - It's Google's fault, you will have to call them. Austin then gave me a number (which is now out of commission due to COVID), another Surprise ! - bottom line, instead of them owning the mistake, felt it was much easier to blame someone else. Now I have two years of missing photos that I will never get back. I must take some responsibility myself. I knew that they were pretty much incapable, but rolled the dice, instead of traveling to the valley and seeking professional help. my bad ! in short, if you are visiting this store for any other reason beyond getting a new screen protector, or some accessory (where they have no chance of touching your phone), then quickly turn around and get the hell out. This was the last time they will see me anywhere near. You have been warned. read more

I went in with my I phone 8s - I told the young man it wasn't charging - he sold me a 35 dollar charging cable. A little pricy but I thought if it fixed my problem it would be worth it. By the way the cable was not even made by Apple. No pricing on any items in the store (they don't want to scare you) The next day It worked in the store and then didn't work at home. My ex wife and I spoke and decided to save some money by joining our plans. We went back the same clerk who sold me the cable helped us. I discussed my port was not working. No discussion of having it repaired, no discussion of costs he just went to get me a new phone. By the way the upgrade to a new Apple was over 700 dollars, He didn't even discuss costs he just kept saying that it would be spread out over my payments. He then was ready to just hand us over to a phone to talk to Verizon to combine our plans. I kept asking how much it would save us and all he would say is it would save us money he knew because he just did it for his brother. I asked him if they have a way to give us the numbers and he told me he didn't need to do that he knows. He even told me that Apple phones are designed poorly and people replace them often and went into detail on how bad the product is. He got busy and a second clerk came to help us at first he was a little better. He used a pick tool and took come lint out of my phone charging port and told me it was fixed (it isn't, it still won't charge and he didn't check) He did use a pad to run some numbers. We were going to get a discount my being a veteran. They failed to mention that I needed to send in my DD214 separation documents and that if they did it since they are nor a corporate store just an authorized dealer it would take up to two billing cycles for my discount to take effect. They did state I could drive over an hour away to a real Verizon store and they can do it there. (really) I even showed them my VA card at the beginning and they didn't mention the process or inconvenience . I kept asking about the costs. I got very few answers. Now we were working with another clerk who got on the phone with Verizon. My ex wife spoke with Verizon and changed the plans. It turned out that we would only save pennies and I was not happy I asked to be put back the way it was only to be told we have already signed up and will have to wait at least a month. They would not have known this so I will cut them some slack but I am a disabled veteran with PTSD, I had been there for hours and was getting very agitated. I did make the mistake of telling my ex wife and the clerk to Fuck off. I apologize for that. I started arguing with my ex in the parking lot and the male clerk came out and puffed his chest in my face telling me he was going to call the police. Long story short --- No pricing to be found anywhere. The clerks are on commission and don't work for Verizon. They want to sell you products and services. NOT A VERIZON STORE - only an authorized sublet dealer. When I go see an Apple store I get service. I am sorry I had this experience and will never shop in that store again. read more

Travelers break out your wallet and beware to pay for thing without being told . It's been about two weeks since I've been here and to this day it really bugs me. I lost my phone prior and I headed up to big bear to go snowboarding for the day so I figured I would go here after snowboarding. I wanted to buy a new phone but I wasn't quite sure if I want to upgrade. I walked in the store and I asked him what phones they had because nothing was displayed and I was told they only had the eighth and the x iPhones in stock. I never buy anything for myself,so I was telling myself I deserve it. OK I'll look at the phones. After comparing I fell in love with the iPhone X so I asked how much it would be out-of-pocket that day I was quoted 180 and 40 something added to my bill which is fine but I asked them I just wanted the phone how just phone and repeated again 180. He continued to say it came with a case and the screen cover , I said that's fine as long as I'm not paying extra I'll take it I don't want to pay a lot of the pocket today. he asked me if I wanted to set it up there at the store since it would be so easy because they had Wi-Fi and I agreed because it seem like a great idea. After being rained up I seen him scanning everything and again I asked him How much was the screen protector and he repeated to say it has a lifetime guaranteed and say I shouldn't leave the store without it. So I asked them again well if I didn't need to buy it how much is it again. He said 50 something dollars just for the screen cover and then another 50 something dollars for the case . After asking him continuously how much everything was and telling him I just wanted the phone he did this behind my back until I pointed out when I was ready to pay. I only bought the phone which came out to $90 which is $110 less then he quoted me when I asked him many times how much was the phone only. After paying for everything locals came in and needed a phone and I heard the other employees say that they had 6&7 and in stock they just need to bring it out the back I was kind of upset because I asked prior and this was not even offered to me which is fine because I did have the seven so I look past that. As I was walking out I looked on my bill and caught a charge an extra $20 for setting up the phone and all he did was connect to Wi-Fi and I sat there and said at the phone my self . Not once did he say I was being charged . I understand sales, but there is a way to sell things the costumer wants . It's horrible quoting the wrong price so u can have more of a sale . read more

My husband and I and our kids came up to stay for a few nights at a cabin. We decided to go to the zoo yesterday where I accidentally dropped my phone on the asphalt and it shattered my screen. We were going to wait till Friday to go get a new phone but decided to check out this Verizon retail store. They are amazing at this place. We were greeted by Elizabeth and she is the best! She helped me pick a phone that would work good for me based on what features I like. She was upfront about prices and everything from start to finish. Upon finishing our purchase she informed me she would transfer everything from my old phone to my new one and we were welcome to wait there for 45 mins while she did it or come back and pick it up. We left happy and came back to pick it up later and my new phone was all set up and ready to go with ease. Austin did good to he came and checked on us and chatted with us for a few mins.
