After 25 years of 5-star, stellar service from Verizon, the last 5 months have been so bad that I would leave today if I weren't locked into a trade-in credit on my last cell phone. They have shifted into some shady practices all of the sudden. After this phone is paid off, I will definitely be leaving Verizon. In March 2024, I went into a Verizon store (7790 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236) just to explore the cost of a phone upgrade so I could begin saving for it. They told me that with "loyalty rewards" they were able to apply, they could upgrade me to the latest iphone right then and my bill would not change. I questioned it because it sounded too good to be true. I should have listened to my gut! However, In 25 years, I had only experienced outstanding service, so I had no reason to doubt them. To start, they didn't tell me they were changing my plan. I still don't know what the change in plan accomplished, other than it created issues with my apple music and it enrolled me in and began billing more for Netflix, which I already have through another account. Those were a pain to correct. However, this change caused my bill to be several hundreds of dollars more on my first full bill after the changes. It went from about $430 a month to $737 for ONE MONTH. I have made multiple calls to Verizon. They said that something was done wrong and they corrected my plan so my additional billing is back to "mostly normal" (still a bit higher). However, they still have not credited me the $300 overchange from March. Each phone call to them is over an hour, there is never a supervisor available, and they always promise both to credit the issue and have a supervisor call me back (or they will call me back), and nothing ever happens. It's been the same for the last 3 calls (not including the calls prior to get the plan and apple music corrected). Around the same time that I upgraded, my niece did the same thing and had the exact same experience. Her issue was eventually corrected, but she got the same runaround with multiple store visits and the same empty promises. Lastly, my sister-in-law recently passed away. She had a family plan that I was working with her daughter to cancel. Verizon made us transfer the plans into her daughter's name in order for her daughter and son to keep their device trade in promotional credits. They could not just cancel and start new individual plans without losing that credit! The problem is that they promised an instant transfer credit to her daughter, plus a refund that was to come a month later on my sister-in-law's account, neither of which ever came. Across my issue and this issue, I have spent probably 5+ hours on the phone with Verizon to no avail. Given that this is 3 separate issues that I am a part of/aware of since spring of this year, I can only imagine that there are more. Something significantly changed with Verizon. Since my last review, Verizon has improved so I'm moving to 3 stars. I did receive help with an issue which was appreciated. But a lot of improvements are needed to reach 5 stars. A complete retraining of all staff, to include all management, is imperative. Five different answers to the same question is not acceptable. Yes the staff are all wearing masks. My husband and I have been wearing our masks since we got into line. At the peak of the afternoon why would you only have 3 people on the floor? After 35 minutes of standing in line my husband went in. I got to wait outside - too many people inside for me to go inside. Number of people is based upon square footage. Seriously??? There were 7 people in the store including my husband and the salesperson. My husband commented about the time he had to wait - the salespersons response was - "well, she was my 12:00 appointment." During the 35 minutes the line went from 4 deep to 8 deep. I The salesperson was very good and courteous. Didn't try to oversell him in other things. He was very helpful and attentive. He got a new phone and they put the new screen protector on. My husband asked why only a few people in the store at a time. They only allow 1 person per salesperson and only 1 salesperson can have a couple. It's a policy and he can't change it. At that point we did understand - but they post that on the door though. So I have to tell you about this one and a manager name Joe Jones. Please stay away from this store. He is rude and acted like he owned this branch and was independently wealthy. He told me I had to locate the original packaging to replace a defective part and when I got back and asked for his info so I could go over this with customer service I was told to leave the store and go elsewhere. I did, and went to the Fields Ertel store where I have consistently been treated with amazing service. So, drive the extra distance and avoid the hassle. I am so shocked that this location has such bad ratings. I had previously been going to the Newport location and had terrible service there. Their solution to any problem that I had was just to buy a new phone rather than trying to resolve my issue. I then came to this location where the gentleman who assisted me tried several different approaches to fixing my device. When those did not work, he saw I had the extended warranty and suggested having a new phone sent to my house. ONLY after all of that did he suggest that I could upgrade to a new phone. So sad to see such an awful service. While Verizon is a good provider, such a store smashes their equity. Last year they screwed up a promotion and after 2 months verizon charged me the value of a full phone because they did not process the promotion. At the end it cost me a full phone. Today I went to check for a trade in. Waiting line was supposed to be around 45 min and you have to wait in your car until they text you. My family and I have been a long time customer of Verizon. We have been happy with their service. I wanted to specifically leave a review regarding my experience at the Cold Spring KY store. My dtr and I went in to take advantage of the holiday offers that were being advertised. I was interexted in a smaart watch due to medical conditions that i have. Our rep, Hanz, greeted us professionally as we arrived. To say the least, he went above and beyond explaining options not only a watch appropriate for my needs but also finding one that would fit the holiday promotions. He was very patient, even calling in to the customer service dept for us to make sure that my family of 5 cell phones xharges were at the most beneficial financially. We did spend some time at the store to achieve our goals, but it was absolutely well worth it. Hanz took his time, patient and kind the entire time making sure that our needs were met. The company Assurion that they use as their insurance company is awful. The customer service representative at Assurion are unprofessional, uneducated and unreliable. The customer service agent told me that the deductible to replace the front screen only would be $149. I had the screen replaced on my own. Meanwhile, I was in Minneapolis buying an Apple Watch and mention that I cracked my screen. I told him I paid out of pocket. He told me that a screen replacement with Verizon through Assurion should be $25. Verizon what's up! Is this true? read more

I've been a loyal Verizon customer for years, the coverage is much better than the competitors (my AT&T work phone drops calls versus my Verizon personal phone). Regarding the service at this specific Kenwood retail location, it was extremely subpar. I've had better service buying a $40 pair of shoes versus a $800 iphone at this Verizon retailer. I asked if I could pay the entire cost of the 2019 iphone XR that day and they said no - to do so I would have to go to the Apple store and buy independently. Dishonestly the sales person further explained that the cost of my phone plus the screen protector and case would be divided over 24 months. I firmly told him that I did not want any of the accessories. He continued to try to sell me apple air pods. After the transaction went through, there was no receipt or instruction on how to transfer my old phone to my new phone. Zero. When I asked, he responded turn the new one on. I am 30 years old, good with technology, but appalled that given an $800 purchase you can't even give me a quick explanation of how my cell number goes from one phone to another. I understand that Apple ID takes care of the rest. Extremely disappointing, will be watching my bill like a hawk to ensure that nothing else was snuck on there. At the end, the salesperson laid on the guilt trip that anything less than an 8 on the Verizon survey would result in his manager taking him outside to beat the crap out of him. The Verizon store put me through absolute hell today. I went in around 1:45 PM because my touch screen just stopped working. (I already spent 2 hours with Apple online trying to get it fixed!) When I got to the store the employee first took my phone to see if he could fix it. He then walked away to help another customer (while he still had my phone!) So I asked the other employee standing there, I believe his name was David, was he going to help me or the other woman? You don't start helping one customer and then turn around to help another! That was the first red flag. So after David determined that the phone wasn't fixable, Christian the "Solutions Manager" (his title is a JOKE!) came out. He told me my phone, an iPhone 5s was not on hand. But I have my phone under 100% warranty and it should get to me by 4 PM tomorrow. I explained to Christian that I have to have my phone today. I run a business completely from my phone. We don't even have a landline at our house! So Christian came back to me and said that he would upgrade my phone to an iPhone 6 for $150, which would renew my 2 year contract (that would be up this upcoming July). I was fine with that, but NOT fine with my bill going from $99 to $155! WHAT? I said that was crazy when A) I wouldn't even need an upgrade if my phone would work and B) either way, we still have two iPhones on our account, so the plan shouldn't change!! A week ago I called into customer support (who have always been amazing) and they were able to get our bill down to $99. We originally were paying $140 for 4 GB, unlimited talk/text. For $99 we are on the "medium" size GB plan (which is 3 GB), and includes unlimited talk and text. (We also have a discount because my husband is a teacher and we have a loyalty credit.) Christian told me he couldn't do that. I then said, "How are you the f***ing solutions manager then?" and that set him off and he told me I couldn't curse. So I said, okay, "How the freak are you the solutions manager?" He told me he would take the deal off the table if I didn't calm down. I apologized (I am very sick and at this point dealing with this phone issue for nearly 3 hours!) He then told me that I could call the verizon customer service (from their phone as mine won't work!) and talk to them about my plan. So I spoke to them for 15 minutes by phone. Verizon call center is going to pull the phone call where the rep told me about the $99 price for our monthly bill. And when it comes back that I was quoted that, they will honor that price. Okay cool. That should have solved that problem. WRONG! So when I go back to Christian and tell him that the call center is pulling the call and will take care of billing issues, I also tell him I'll go ahead and upgrade to the iPhone 6 for the $150 that I was quoted. Then Christian the "Solutions Manager" tells me that he can no longer do that as he can't be a "part" of the billing issue. WTF? I demand to see a manager above him, which happened to be Jake the General Manager. So Jake comes out and walks me away from customers. This was of course after a good 10 minutes that Christian can manipulate the story, which including me supposedly yelling, which is NOT true. I am sick with a sore throat and it is hard to talk, let alone yell. Yes, I dropped one f bomb and apologized. But with that the store is putting me through at this point, who wouldn't be angry and drop an f bomb? Anyway, so Jake starts telling me I have 3 options. 1) Pay full retail of $650 for the iPhone 6 2) File an insurance claim online 3) Go to the apple store (I think was the third option) I then said, no, I wanted what was told to me when I first came into the store. iPhone 6 for $150 which renews my contract. He then tells me that can't and won't happen because I yelled and cursed at his employee, in front of customers. I told him if he wouldn't honor it I would file a complain with the BBB and leave a bad review (which is what I'm doing). He told me I needed to leave and I said not until I have a new phone. He told me I had to call customer service at which I said, "How? My phone doesn't work!" Jake then walked me over to the customer service desk and called verizon customer service where I would spend the next hour trying to deal with this. Of course a large part was filing what verizon calls a "360" (complaint against the store) as well as hold times. At least the customer service agents on the phone are always nice and helpful! 35 minutes into the phone call, I was disconnected. The agent was going to talk to sales and see if he could get me the iPhone 6 for $150 like I was quoted. Although both Jake and Christian lied to me and told me they put that in the notes. The customer service rep told me that wasn't in the notes. Good thing the store has video cameras and my story can be verified! The first man I worked with was nice and informative, not pushy and took his time with me while also being efficient. He helped me order my new iPhone and I walked out satisfied, expecting to come back in a few days and have it set up in minutes. When I came back I had to wait for a bit to be helped by someone who didn't understand my situation. After I explained, he said another employee made a mistake and continued expressing that instead of trying to fix it. He really made it sound like the end of the world... I ended up taking my iPhone's lifeless body home, hoping I could figure it all out on my own so that I didn't have to talk to him anymore. He clearly did not want to deal with me either. Horrible service! Went to have an apple watch unpaired and the phone switched to another family member. They unpaired the watch and switched the sim cards and sent us on our way. Now I am locked out of my husbands apple account for 24 hours and found out the watch MUST be paired with a phone to work. My husband has Alzheimers and I use the watch to track him. Now I will be without that ability for at least 24 hours. This Verizon store and Apple have been less than helpful. Of course if I try to call they do not answer their phone! read more

I hate Verizon stores. Everything about them is pretty terrible, but that is not the the fault of the location, it's the corporate model. I hate the layout, the format, the waiting (with absence of appropriate waiting space) the appointments which don't really get honored...everything. So, I have to a) have a REAL issue and b) amp myself up to walk into one of these places. Further, the experience is nearly 100% dependent on interaction with one person in the place. It's often a young man who might be condescending and less informed than me. I recently walked into the Kenwood location after scouring the Verizon website and determining I needed to actually speak with a human being to a) understand the changes to my contract when I upgraded as my plane was obsolete and b) understand options for an international/expat situation. Admittedly, I strategically planned to go here in the morning, during the week. Going in here on a Saturday would not be advisable. Finding parking would be your first problem. The fact that Verizon, Trader Joes and David's Bridal share a small parking lot is poor planning as all three have high customer volume on Saturdays (I've circled this lot many of Saturday to go to TJ's). I think day/time makes a HUGE difference in experience, and I would even take a half day off work in order to save my sanity on this one. I was lucky enough, on a Friday morning, to have Ken help me. He.was.awesome. He was so patient with me as I talked through my international situation and explained what I thought my options would be and his knowledge of international options exceeded my expectations-far exceeded. While the solution is not super straight forward, it's not going to be super expensive. Ken was well informed, not pushy, and was very honest. I actually had to ask him if I could make a purchase after asking he explained my options, and he was straightforward in saying that if I wanted to wait and do it all online, that it made no difference (isn't he working on some type of commission?). My expectations were so low walking in the door, that the fact that I didn't have to wait AND I got to work with Ken made my day. But, again, I feel like experiences and service at these places are prone to inconsistency. read more

I've been here 3 times in the past week or 2 and the service has been extremely inconsistent. The first time, the person who took our name to put us in line and the person who helped us were extremely friendly and helpful. The second 2 times, we weren't so lucky. HOWEVER, as this is the closest Verizon store to us, my family will continue to frequent it. I got my new iPhone 5 here on the 3rd visit and I am VERY satisfied with the phone!! I was told directly from Verizon corporate customer service that stores will upsell you on accessories, plans, etc. that they cannot honor, and will charge you after the fact. I came in for a new phone, after disabling the "find my iPhone" feature and they began to transfer my information from the cloud; due to how long it was taking I stopped the transfer, took the phone home and finished on my WiFi. I received a text from Verizon saying that I had less than 10% data left, although I had 44% prior to walking in to the store. After speaking with a rep at Verizon I was told that a large data transfer had occurred in the same time frame I was switching phones. The rep was using my data to transfer my info and not the in store WiFi. "Irritated" does not describe how I feel about Verizon not assisting me further with this situation. read more

We stopped by this store because we had received an email promotion. It said that we could save a certain amount per month because we have been customers for so long. The guy we got was terrible :o( He seemed upset and in a bad mood. He mentioned that we could have done what we wanted on-line. He also said that we didn't need to wait around for him to finish. If Verizon were evaluated solely on their cell service and telephone customer support, they'd get four stars from me. Based on my store experiences, I'd give Verizon less than one. I visited this particular store for a simple task. By the time I was leaving, I got talked into going home with a couple devices that the sales associate managed to convince me would not only cost me nothing, but that I would see a credit on my account. Shame on me for believing such a thing. On my next very inflated bill, I saw no credit, but instead two $20 charges. I called customer service to rectify this, and they confirmed that this happens very often: store associates upsell customers using false claims. Then customers call in to resolve the issue, and they can't do anything for the customer in certain cases. I visited Verizon Wireless on August 10th 2017 to purchase an accessory for my phone. At the same time I purchased a $100 gift card for a friend as the associate told me it could be used as payment on a pre paid account. Nothing could be further from the truth I went back to Verizon with the gift card after I was completely humiliated when my friend told me it didn't work I tried to explain this to the manager Joe and he said he didn't need to hear all the details and that is absolutely the worst display of customer service I have ever seen in my life. Verizon's customer service is despicable. Have you ever called 611? Watch out if they say "may I place you on a brief hold". After about 30 minutes you'll come to realize they're not returning and the call gets dropped. yes they have the best phone service but they have the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. The manager Joe gave me his personal cell phone number and assured me that management was working on the issue. Joe blocked my number so I went back to Verizon only to find Joe had left. I walked in the store and told the rep that I would like to buy a new Apple I-phone 13 pro max. I was told to give them my name and number and wait in my car for them to call me as I was next in line. I waited i my car for 30 minutes and received no phone call. I then walked back into the store and a few sales reps were just hanging out. They asked my name and I told them I gave them my name and number 30 mins ago. They then replied, oh yes, we were about to call you. I told them the phone I was interested in purchasing and then was told they do not have any in stock. In which I replied, it would be nice if you could have told me that you didn't have any in stock before you made me wait for a half hour. The rep replied that it was for security reasons that they do not tell inventory when you first arrive. I said that it doesn't make sense, how is security safer if you make the person wait for 30 minutes before telling them you don't have it in stock. Either this is lazy customer service or poor Verizon policies, either way, it was very frustrating and I'll have to look elsewhere. read more

The wait is long, but it is due to volume and not necessarily the employees not working hard. I expected that, but I considered the customer service that you are supposed to get with a corporate store worth the wait. It was not. I suggest going to another location or a Verizon retailer. This location is good at answering questions and resolving issues; however, the salespeople are overly aggressive. I witnessed it as they pushed product on the customers before me and with my own experience. They do not stop pushing and I caught them exaggerating my usage to sell a bigger plan. I had done my research online and was counting on the Verizon store to help me discuss the nuances of their plans that would best fit my needs. However, the salesman had no interest in helping me. When I grew so disgusted and frustrated with my experience and asked him to cancel the order, I got home to discover it was not canceled and I could not get out of it. We had ordered iphone 6s plus three weeks back for my roommate but still haven't got any responses back. I am waiting for my shipment which was actually due by 12th october. Your store do not respond to calls and yet Verizon is best service provider and I wonder how this is possible. This is second time I am getting a frustrating service from the same store. First time I got completely wrong information about bonus of $100 if I switch to Verizon but after two months they say I am not eligible for this and now this time it's about delay. My experience at the Verizon store was a nightmare. My original iphone order was lost by FedEx, after an hour on the phone with customer service sorting out the situation I was told to simply walk into a store and grab a new phone, that online sales would take care of the rest! But nope!! That would be too easy. Lexi immediately assumed she understood the situation, made things way more complicated than they needed to be, and forced me to call online sales again while I was sitting right in the store. She was SO RUDE and I got the impression that since the sale was already made online, she didn't care about the customer (ei the commission was already spoken for). Worst experience ever and I just now got an email confirmation about a warranty she had me sign for without explaining she snuck it into the papers. So I'll have to call back AGAIN to deal with that. Thank God for the business sales lady who did actually help me and had a great attitude.
