Joyy, had helped us over the phone with questions about the holiday specials. She was so thorough we decided to go ahead with the deals. She helped us again with Emalie in person when we picked up our new phones, plan, accessories and modem. They are pleasant and have great attitudes. They welcomed all customers as they walked in the door, even though they were very busy. The place was clean, organized and well stocked. They both had great knowledge and worked very well together. Joyy then took over the rest of our sale so Emalie could help another customer. Joyy had great conversational skills on all topics! Note: This is not a corporate store, which I knew, but I live close, so I went in and the only question I asked was, "Where is the nearest corporate store?" (That's where they SERVICE existing customers, not here). The gentleman told me "Oakbrook" and Emalie asked what we needed. I told her, "I have Verizon phone. I have Verizon internet. I want to merge them onto one account." Emalie said, "Oh, I'm sure we can do that here." Take note, folks. Emalie LOOKS nice, ACTS nice, and there's no reason to think otherwise. Until you get home, and your internet drops 11x, and you notice that she DOWNGRADED your plan and ADDED A PERK (commission for her). You drop the $25 perk the same day (you caught that), and get some extra bandwith hooking things up differently in the house, cuz you know how, but now you have to go to Oakbrook anyway. If you go there, please, just (1) read exactly what you are signing up for, don't just sign the signature pad and think she must be honest, and (2) go home, go online, and make sure it shows the same thing with no perks you were unaware of. If you do those two things, then Emalie is still a snake, but you are sure she didn't get one over on you. She even badmouthed ALL the people at the Villa Park Verizon location, but I'm not sure how much worse it could be than getting scammed by the 63rd & Main, Downers Grove location. read more

I think I ended up having the most difficult phone experience, but the team at this Verizon store made it as pleasant as possible. They weren't pushy for me to buy upgrades, and were straightforward in letting me know that transferring things takes a while so I should leave and come back, which I did. No need to keep me at a store while they just babysit the phone! For some reason my old phone didn't cooperate with the new phone at first so the process for me went much longer, but the staff was so friendly I didn't feel uncomfortable or awkward being there. I have spent hours on the phone trying to straighten out my bill with Verizon and kept having problems and getting disconnected. So I decided I would go into the Verizon in Downers Grove, 63rd and Main St. Saturday, October 2 at 10:30 am When I walked in the man was sitting by himself so I sat down and started telling my problem. He kept looking at his watch and never looked at me. When I was finished he said, in a frustrated voice, what do you expect me to do about it? I told him he needed to try for me because it wasn't working at home. He did and he was having issues trying. When I would ask a question he would give me a very short, inpatient answer. Just a friendly reminder. Don't order food on the phone when the customer is there. Don't talk about your food order to the young lady you are working with. It was rude for the young lady to leave the customer to pick up the food. You needed to wait until the customer left. Yes, I was waiting for something to go through so I could pick up the modem. Came here on a Sat and was there for almost three hours because they only had one employee working the entire store. I was also double charged $167 and had to wait 10 business days for a refund after calling about it. I was mistakenly charged $10 for a sim card that they could not refund without me coming back into the store. Also this is a Verizon RETAILER, not a corporate store. They charge more for phones here than if you purchased directly through Verizon, and if there are any issues with the store Verizon cannot help you out. read more

There is no better feeling in the world than having your mind set on something only to be adamantly ridiculed into feeling like you are making the worst decision ever. Such was the case when I visited this Verizon store the other day. I was set on upgrading from my old android phone to a newer iPhone 7. I actually walked into the store with my mind already made up that I was going to purchase it....until I started talking to the rep/manager who worked there. Albeit, the rep was helpful in reviewing my account and letting me know of the deals for android and even let me handle an iPhone 7 which he had to take out of the box because there were none on display. At that point I was getting a little turned off because I wanted to just confirm my selection by playing around with it...which I could not do with a powered down iPhone. My dedication (whatever was left) to buy was quickly put to rest when the manager (Jay I believe) of the store came over and started ridiculing my selection of an iPhone as my upgrading device. In fact, he went so far as to say that a year or so down the road, I will regret this purchase since it will start crapping out on me. He kept trying to tell me that android was far superior and that Apple makes overpriced and outdated devices. I kept referencing the fact that I have been an android user for many years and was just looking to something simple. All in all, my experience at this store was terrible. I went in as an almost definite customer but ended up being a never-returning-customer. The employees kept saying how they are proud of their store's 4.5 star rating online and how the "corporate" stores, namely the one off of Butterfield road have much lower reviews..... Well, jokes on them I guess because the next day I went to the store off of Butterfield Road and got myself an iPhone 7 plus. I am even using it right now to write this review and have been perfectly happy with my purchase so far. Maybe Jay or whoever else works at this Verizon will read this review and regret their lost sale because so far, I do not regret buying an iPhone from another store. Fun fact, on my way out I shook the reps hand and said thank you. Then said goodbye to the manager who didn't even look up from his phone but said "take it easy boss". Stay away. Lying cheating thieves. Do not believe a word they say. Told us we were getting free phone cases and chargers because of some promo they were running. Turns out they were free because they used our $500+ trade in credit towards $30 dollars worth of accessories. Then he added phone protection($30 a month) to our account without our knowledge. He was incredibly helpful and patient showing me all the upgrades on the phone. Unfortunately it was his last day there. He was being transferred to this store at 6238 Main Street in Downers Grove. I recently stopped into this location to pay off the remainder of my bill. I have many of times visited both the locations on Bolingbrook road, in Bolingbrook, as well as the location on 75th in Woodridge. At both referenced locations, I paid my bill in cash as I do with most of my bills. Never have I been charged any sort of extra 'fee' for paying in person, nor for paying in cash. However, two nights ago I was doing Christmas shopping in the downers grove area for my kids and realized I might as well pay my bill, seeing as how there was a location across the street from the Jewel I was at. I drove across Main st. and stopped in, I had to wait a little bit which was no big deal, what appeared to be the 'manager' was training a new employee and was dealing with another customer which was fine with me I was in no rush. The manager eventually came over and asked if I just had a question or needed something else, and I said, "I'm here to pay my bill." He said 'ok' and went and got the 'trainee' and had him leave the woman they were working with and come to the computer I was sitting near, and log-in using his (the trainee) credentials. Now the manager asked if I was paying in cash, and I said yes. He then proceeded to tell me that there is a "$3 processing fee for paying in cash" I bust out laughing and said "excuse me? you cannot be serious????!!!!" Oh but he was! When I asked what exactly the "process" was for the processing fee, he told me it was because they have to take the money in a bag to the bank!!! I said that's odd, because on many occasions I have paid my bill at Verizon locations and NEVER have been charged any sort of "processing" fee. In fact, I'm almost positive on the few occasions that I have used my debit card, I don't even recall them charging me a "Processing" fee for using my card, which would be reasonable. I just laughed and said ok, because clearly I was gonna get no where and it would just end up getting me nowhere, scum bags like that, not worth my time. Now, granted this is only $3, and when I contacted corporate they were kind enough to refund me the money back and even gave me $5 rather than $3. You might be thinking whoopie do $5!!! However, nowhere on my account, no where on my receipt, is there any extra charge equaling $86, instead it only stated I paid the $83 that was owed. I then checked my Verizon app, and viewed my payment history, and it oddly was NOT on there either. My issue to be clear is clearly not the $3!! My issue is that if they were willing to do this to me over $3, who knows what they are scamming other people out of, especially and specifically the people that are coming in their paying cash. It could be for anything, accessories, chargers, cases, PHONES!!!! who the heck knows, if they're willing to swindle $3, out of me with just such ease, its clearly not their first time. I advise anyone that frequents that store to check your receipt carefully, because I contacted corporate and they said there is no such thing as a "processing fee" for paying cash!!!!! Customers beware, and to the store manager, you may have thought I was just another dumb blonde, but what you didn't account for is that I'm actually a graduate of De Paul University, and I don't have a job, because I have three kids in school, all day. Needless to say, I have nothing but time on my hands, and I like to keep my schedule open in the event something comes up For example, some moron trying to scam a mom of three out of freaking $3!!!! THAT'S PATHETIC, and two days before Christmas!!! Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourselves, and then training the poor new kid to do the same and scam people. Not only did I call your corporate headquarters, I emailed the CEO of Verizon, made a consumer complaint with the Illinois Attorney Generals Office, as well as the BBB. So maybe next time, I think the lesson here is, DON'T EVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!!!! I cant promise that I'm gonna stop there, I know NBC5 Chicago likes to investigate "consumer complaints." I highly recommend going to this verizon! Clean well maintained and the staff is always helpful . My son and I were there this past weekend. My son needed a replacement shock shield for his phone Adrian Ang helped us. He is very knowledgeable about everything, the different plans, phones and all the new apps. He also checked to make sure we were getting the best plan for our money and needs. He is honest, friendly and it's obvious he enjoys and takes pride in his work. I was there Sunday looking at the new I phones. I was not ready to switch to Verizon just wanted to see how the new phones looked like. We started talking with the associate who was there and he offered us a really good deal. So I switched my phones from Sprint to Verizon. When I got home I saw the email from Verizon congratulating me for getting the new service and showing me my service summary. For my surprise it looked completely different than what we agreed in the store. So I went back right away and talked to that associate again . He told me not to worry, he was going to fix that and call me on Monday by 11 am. So I went home and on Monday I was waiting for him to call me. He never did . Finally I decided to call . The manager answered the phone and told me that that guy was sick. So a had to explained to the manager everything and he told me that the his associate was wrong promising me that price for the service and he can not honor it. We set up a meeting on Tuesday to try to resolve the issue but we could not. I was told that the associate made a mistake like we all do(?) and unfortunately there was nothing he can do. So I lost 3 days and achieved nothing. Now Christmas is ruined for my daughter and I can not decide if the people that work there are liars or just incompetent. Either way horrible experience.
