I went to the Verizon store in National City and while the staff's attention and attitude were good, the experience itself was extremely disappointing and misleading. What they tell you verbally is very different from what actually happens. They added warranties I never asked for, subscriptions I never agreed to, and on top of that, I was not even allowed to sign my own contract, they signed it themselves without clearly explaining anything. That alone is unacceptable. Based on what we specifically requested, our total was supposed to be around $190-$220. Instead, we were shocked to see a charge of $490, filled with random add-ons we never approved. To make things worse, we did a trade-in. After seeing the $490 charge, I had to call Verizon customer service and wait 30 minutes just to find out what was going on. That's when I discovered all these extra charges, and also found out that the trade-in was never initiated. The store took my phone and told me it wouldn't show up for a few days, but we are now talking about more than one month, and the trade-in was still never started. So now I'm left wondering: who has my phone, and who benefited from it? Be very careful at this location. Ask for everything in writing, review every charge line by line, and do not leave until you personally sign your own contract. Transparency and honesty are seriously lacking here. read more

Worst customer service. My wife and I were in the area because we were shopping around for a new cell phone provider. We arrived to the location around 5:45pm. As we parking, we noticed there was one customer and one store associate inside, and jokingly said, "No one's here, probably because the ratings are bad." As we entered the store, we were never greeted by the store associate (male), who was sitting at his desk. We began looking at the plans on the touch screen ourself. After about 5min or so, my wife asked the associate for some assistance with the plans. While he continued to sit, the associate said he was waiting for the customer (who was on his phone) to finish, and he pointed at the phone plans on a table for us to view on our own. Further, the phone plan he pointed us to was entirely in Spanish. Despite my wife being Hispanic, and me being Filipino, we found another plan with English wording. We then sat and waited for maybe another 5min before we just left, as the associate still sat at his desk. As we were backing out of the parking space, we noticed two additional associates had came out from the back. We wondered why couldn't the male associate call his coworkers to at least help us if he was too busy sitting down? Or maybe, he could've assisted us while his customer was on the phone? Or maybe, get up from your chair at least? If you are working in a customer service environment, do your job. If you don't like helping people, then do something else please. Horrible service from all the staff! They literally upsell you on everything without you agreeing! One of the girl employees signed the contract on my behalf and when I asked why she did so, they replied with "we do that when it gets busy." That is the most illegal thing iv heard in my life. They told me apple one was free but it actually wasn't, and they added on additional insurance to all my lines that I never agreed on getting. This place is sales driven and does not care about customer service. They only thing on their mind is selling you everything without your agreement and making commission off of it. I forgot to mention my trade in was never accredited to my account. I have no idea where my phone that I traded in went, could either have gotten sold online by the employees and stolen. Do not come here! This place scams people! We came in a couple months ago to look at new phones. To make a long story short, we were told that there was a buy 1 get 1 free offer for new customers. I chose a samsung and my wife got an iPhone. The salesman, Joey, did a break down of discounts and explained the BOGO offer and everything. The entire reason we decided to join was because the price was pretty close to our current bill with our old provider. Fast forward to 1 month later. I get the bill and realize none of the discounts were implemented and the BOGO wasn't applied. So we go back to this store to try to find out what's wrong. First off, this store doesn't even open when it says it would be. Website and store says they open at 10am on saturdays. We waited until 1030 and then left. We came back at 1130 they still weren't open. Then when I called later the afternoon and asked why they weren't open on time, the salesman told me I am wrong and they were open at 10. Once I got to the store, the salesman was severely unprofessional. Then laughed at me when i told him about the BOGO deal because that wasn't real. And said that even if it was real, it wouldn't work because i got a samsung and my wife got an iphone. When I asked about "Joey" and why would he lie to me, all he said was that Joey doesn't work here anymore. I asked for a manager to explain to me how this was even allowed, all he said was the 1 manager will be in the office on tuesday at some random hours and to figure it out with her. So i asked for the managers number (later i realized it was just the store's office number). I work weekdays but the manager only comes in on weekdays. So until now i have been unable to get a hold of the "manager". In summary, this place is a scam. I am locked in with 2 new phones i was not planning to have because I was lied to by a salesman who conveniently doesn't work there anymore. The other salesman is flat out rude and the management is non existent. Verizon itself is a great service provider but this place is not Verizon, they are just an authorized retailer, so all they care about it making sales, no matter how unethical it may be. read more

I waited more than 7 min outside knocking on the window attempting to open the door and no one came out to assist until I called the store. No one should leave the front unattended without reason. And then the girl wasn't very helpful. She said was limited on being able to help me with my bill but she couldn't even do that. So I left unhappy and not helped. I'm currently sitting outside in my car since I got kicked out of Verizon, trying to receive the phone I ordered. I see on the door that they are out to lunch. I got here at 430 pm & the sign says they are returning at 540. I couldn't help but think if employees here got longer than an hr lunch, 20 minutes BEFORE CLOSING. The picture I included says open at 540 and they close at 6. I'm still scratching my head. I see a woman inside so I enter since it was unlocked. She said, "Excuse me, I am on my lunch so you have to leave. Didn't you see the sign?" EXTREMELY RUDE. I asked if she was the only one working and she replied with yes. Alex Silva. The most rude, nasty, unhelpful individual I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with.  This was my 2nd attempt to turn in my phone.  First time he told me he couldn't do it, which I found out from Tati that isn't true, it's because he's new.  It could also be he's lazy, doesn't really like his job, or people. Management needs to have a serious talk with him.  I'm a very busy person, and I spend a lot of money on my Verizon account, and his actions were deplorable and unnecessary. He snatched my phone, cut me off from talking. I'm nervous leaving it with him. I didn't get to wipe it, and he seems untrustworthy. I was there at 11, when they supposedly open. He had the nerve to tell me he wouldn't open until 1115 am, and I was bothering him. On another note, Tati is an amazing customer service representative, she was everything you'd hope for in purchasing a new phone, and for service.  Promote Tati, fire Alex is my suggestion.  He needs a job where he's not dealing with the public.  I would NEVER go back to this location or recommend this store. read more

She was wearing yellow crocs from asian market as they stated and no name badge. No hello my name is. I went in becuz i got cut off from the verizon tech on my phone after a restart he asked me to do. She then told me my phone was in factory reset mode. She walked away. I then asked her if it was fixable? I handed her my phone. The issue was the messenging app. She is a great tech. But the customer care part is lacking. We purchased an IPhone 8 last week from this Verizon on Sweetwater Road, National City. Our sales representative was Albert. We wanted to pay $200.00 down on the phone to help bring our monthly payments down. The phone cost $700 and something. He said with out the $200.00 down the monthly phone bill would be $129.00 a month. Before the new phone we paid $99.00 a month for 2 phones. He said with $200 down the bill would be $121.00 a month. He said the first bill will be about $137.00. And every month after that the bill will be $121. Well he attempted to take the $200 down payment with a credit card but he said it wouldn't go thru. He said we would have to now pay it in 30 days. Well I went back to Verizon next day to ask questions and the sales representative said if we pay the $200 in 30 days the money would only go towards the interest. I asked if I can pay it the day I was there. He said "no you'll have to wait 30 days now". I explained what Albert told us and he said "I don't know why he would tell you those things". So in other words he was saying Albert lied to us. Now the first payment is $174.18 NOT $137.00 like Albert told us. And our future bills will be $143.68 NOT $129.00 like Albert told us. Albert is a down right lier. I will never ever do business with them again. I put one star because the review would not post with put at least one star. It is really a Big Fat (0) ZERO STARS. Worst customer service I've received at a Verizon store by far. The manager Mariano was incredibly dismissive and rude. Told me he would only help me if I calmed down when I got upset over these guys throwing in 2 HUM driving devices and not answering any of my questions. Kevin, the sales associate, claimed he was saving me over $100 per month on my bill, but when I had finally been charged and the calculations were done the savings were less than 50 dollars. Also waited over 30 minutes while he kept telling me he was "basically done" and simultaneously asking his manager how to do something. Over and over and over again. I was at the store for an hour in total, walked out with 2 devices I didn't ask for only to realize later I had been conned. When I came back to return the items I was treated as if I was unreasonable for having been upset about the lack of transparency. Pretty much decided I'm switching providers after this. read more

First let me tell you this store is not a Verizon store! I stopped into the "Verizon" store in Hyde Park, Tampa, FL... They were having a promotion... Get a new IPhone 13 and get $800 for you old iphone. I went in with my boyfriend who was going to switch to verizon and get the deal. I told the sales guy Ron that you should have this for existing customers, he said I could get the deal to and get the IPhone 13 free. So I traded in my Iphone and my daughters IPhone and we both got the Iphone 13. I asked Ron multiple times that this phone is free, he said yes. I asked multiple times, so the only thing I will see on my bill is the one time charge of $35, he said yes. He said all I had to pay was the taxes ($200).. So... I look at my bill.. I now have an equipment charge of $45 for the next 36 months. I go back to the same store to see why I am being charged this and it just so happened that a district manager was there Anthony Kreis. (and the sales guy Ron that did my sale was there) I told him my complaint, he said he had to look into it and would call me tomorrow. He called me. He told me that the phone is not free and I was only going to get a $400 credit per phone and I would not see this until 3 billing cycles. I told him that is not what I was told or agreed to. After going back and forth.. he basically told me that I should be happy ... I have a new phone.. he was rude and condescending! I gave a review on Verizon... thinking this was Verizon.. after multiple phone calls I found out its not a Verizon store... and Verizon cannot do anything about it because it is really Victra 1. Victra is a scam 2. The "Verizon" store in Hyde Park (which is just a verizon dealer) and the sales guy Ron is a scammer 3. $200 in taxes??? I should have questioned that.. VERIZON CON ARTISTS Run far far away! Go to Costco! We jumped ship from Sprint thinking we'd get better coverage, boy were we wrong, same crappy coverage if any at all. We walked in with brand new looking iPhones and were told they would only be able to offer us "Store credit" and calculated what our phones were worth and showed us really cool gadgets from around the store, the manager, kept saying he was "hooking us up" and was going to "throw this in too". Now 6 months later our bill is damn near $300 we were told of an awesome deal Costco T- Mobile has, called to see about canceling with Verizon, come to find out we owe money on the "free tablet for the kids" as well as the "amazing wifi jetpack that's great for road trips". The crappy little phone we got so we could contact our 14 year old, we were told would be "$9" also has a large fee on it as well. LIVID is a complete understatment, swindlers and con artists are the words that come to mind. read more

Horrible and I will never return again! There liars and scammers! I wish I would have read these reviews first before I walked in. They start throwing items in on the counter like accessories and tablets without asking if you want them thinking your getting it "free" so they can rack up there commission not realizing that till later when I left. Still having second thoughts went and confronted them and not allowing to return the items only if I paid the restocking fee which he said he would waive the fee as their story changed several times on what I was charged for and what the fees were for. Next time I will order over the phone like I usually have. I was dumb and naive but not anymore sad people are just out there to get your money. Sunday, 7/8/21 @ 12:30 went to Verizon store Sweetwater Rd. My elderly father has a flip phone, we needed help accessing his contacts after another family member played with the settings. We opened the door to the store and the attendant didn't bother leaving his seat or look over the screen to offer help. From behind the screen he said "can I help you" I approached the counter to find a guy with a scar on the right side of his eye, bleached yellow hair and tattoos. I describe him so you know who I'm talking about. He was the rudest most unprofessional attendant I have ever encountered. I told him I knew about the phone afterall I set it up for my father. He basically smirked. He is so unprofessional and I'm sure he has been told this before and doesn't care, because he still has a job. The last time we were at this store the attendant was wonderful which is when we got the flip phone. But this guy is certainly not an asset to the store. His entire demeanor is rude, arrogant and oozes unhappiness at being there on a Sunday. He certainly is not worth whatever he is being paid. I would fire him, I don't care if he's having a bad day. Worst place ever. It was my first time with Verizon. Signed me up for 24 month contract on a tablet that I don't even need. Never told me that in store and just presented it like a gift. Now they cant do nothing at all. As a result, I have two lines to pay for when I only needed a phone. They just sign up customers and trying to bring sales up, without telling people. I first came to this store to pick up a new phone I had placed through the VZW website. That was convenient. Tatiana who was present at the location allowed me to stop in prior to receiving the confirmation email that my device was ready. I happened to be in the area and she was accommodating to check for me in which it was ready. I ordered a screen protector and case which she even installed for me, and even redid the screen protector that had an air bubble in it. She was polite and understanding the entire time! Great experience! However, the case I bought had issues with wireless charging and a week later I had decided to return it. The store advertises its hours from 10a-?. I arrived well after 10a to find the store closed. I left to do some errands and returned about a half hour or so later to still find the store closed. There was even a UPS missed delivery sticker on the door. So I left. Decided to give them a call after noon and someone picked up. I asked if they were open in which I was assured they were. I confirmed that they were not a call center and that I had been to the location twice in the past 2 hours to find no one there. The gentlemen assured he was there and that my calling actions and questions proved so. No apologies for no one being present initially or anything remotely. It felt condescending. When I arrived, I can see that someone was present so I tried to open the door but it was locked and monitored as there was a sign that said to wait for assistance outside. The guy, A_ _ _, came to open the door to allow me in and was quick to point out the sign outside the door. This also felt condescending. Not a, "How can I help you?" or any type of greeting you'd expect to hear as a customer. He didn't have a name tag on, so I had to ask for his name. But, the return went as expected and didn't take long. I'll give credit for that. But 2 entirely different experiences. read more

I went in last Thursday on May 24 hesitantly wanting to purchase the new Galaxy S4 coming from and iPhone4. To make me more at ease with trying out this new S4 Anthony took the time to contact his manager to see what they can do to let me give it a two week trial run; 4 days later (today) I made the confident decision to stick with the Samsung Galaxy S4. I highly recommend this Verizon Wireless store specifically for Anthony's stellar customer service. I'm one happy customer with confidence in my purchase and satisfaction in my overall experience purchasing my new smartphone. Anthony was extremely knowledgeable about both operating systems and explained the pros and cons without a biased opinion of one over the other. Do not go here. [Edit 9/14/16] - It might be okay if they have new management. The name is a bit misleading, "Verizon - A Wireless Premium Retailer," sounds like a sentence describing Verizon, but it is not an actual Verizon store. The name should be, "A Wireless - A Verizon Premium Retailer." In my 15 years and 5 lines with Verizon, I have bought phones at actual Verizon stores, Costco, and Best Buy. The worst experience I've had was at this location, and the best experience has been at Best Buy. Compared to the others, this location seems to have less selection of phones, accessories, and cases, but plenty of incorrect information. In May 2016 I went to upgrade an iPhone and was repeatedly asked by the store manager about signing up for a "free" tablet and home phone. After declining several times, I finally agreed because I was told that there would be NO COST for me to get the tablet and home phone, since it was a "bundle" deal. After receiving the "No surprises" email from Verizon, calling customer service, and talking with a manager at a Verizon store, I found that there were charges for the other devices, like line activation and monthly fees (NOT prorated charges), and I had to pay "set up and go" fees that I have never paid at Verizon. I also found that the "free" accessories I received were charged on my receipt, without the discount I usually get from Verizon stores. My visit here was a waste of time and money. It took several additional visits and arguments to finally get higher management involved and the items returned. Even after the return, I had to call customer service again to remove the line activation and prorated fees. Luckily I was able to discover all of this 2 days before the 14 day return policy passed. Verizon phone customer service was extremely helpful and informed me that I did have a right to return the items, and that I could make purchases by phone if I didn't want to go to a store. My future upgrades will be done at Best Buy, or maybe an actual Verizon store. Posting this late because I have since visited other stores and talked to other people, and even considered changing service providers. Sounds like it's still business as usual. read more

BAD service I paid my phone and they didn't process my payment until I got a notification that said I was way overdue. I called them and they were rude and not helpful at all I had to call Verizon directly for them to help me get a time frame of when I walked in. They swore that they didn't have much payment I asked for them to look at the security cameras and I told them I had spoken to Verizon and they indeed had a check in to my account from their store when I told them my money magically appeared and they had put my money on someone else's account. I suggest if y'all make a payment make sure it goes through or pay by phone or a real Verizon not a retail. As soon as we walked in I told my husband that I wanted to leave, but we waited. The store looked .&' felt dirty. There was only 3 employees and they were all busy. Only 1 of the employees acknowledged us. He said it would be about a 15 minute wait. We were there for 30 minutes and still nothing. They didn't even have any phones on display.
