National City. Highland Ave. First time at this location. Been with COX for years. Overall the best cable & internet service in San Diego. Nice & friendly staff. Special mention to Ari for her OUTSTANDING customer service. Explained everything in a easy to understand manner. Team player that really cares about her work. It's people like Ari that exemplify the COX communications mission statement of "committed to creating more moments of real human connection". As a 20 year military Veteran, I salute you. Thank you.

At the time, I had one phone line and my Apple Watch and simply needed to add my son's line. Antonio repeatedly encouraged me to switch to a four-line promotion because he said it would be cheaper. I told him multiple times that I did NOT need four lines and only needed my line, my son's line, and my watch. I also made it very clear that maintaining my existing coverage, including international data in Mexico, was important to me. During the transaction, I received a notification that my unlimited plan had been removed. I immediately questioned Antonio about it because I was concerned my coverage was being changed. He reassured me that although my plan was changing, my coverage was not. I asked again and trusted his reassurance. Unfortunately, when I traveled to Mexico, I discovered that I no longer had the international data coverage I specifically told him I needed. I called the store and spoke with Antonio again, hoping he could help correct the issue. Instead, he told me that I had signed for the plan and that he had given me the cheapest option. When I reminded him that I had repeatedly said I did not need four lines and that I needed international data, his response was to tell me to call 611 and "leave me a bad review." When I explained that leaving a bad review wasn't the point and that I simply wanted the issue corrected, he essentially told me to have them cancel the lines so I could pay more. Thankfully, I contacted T-Mobile customer service directly, and the representative was able to identify the problems with my account and is now correcting them. The unnecessary lines are being canceled, my plan is being corrected while maintaining my coverage, and because some changes cannot be completed until the next billing cycle on August 20, she documented what still needs to be done. T-Mobile even provided complimentary international service to address the immediate problem while I am traveling. My frustration isn't that I simply disliked the plan Antonio gave me. It's that I clearly communicated what I needed, questioned the changes as they were happening, and relied on his reassurance that my coverage would remain the same. It didn't. I went into this store because T-Mobile sent me there for help. Instead, I ended up spending additional time correcting unnecessary lines and changes to my service that I never asked for. Customers should be able to trust that when they clearly explain what services they need and specifically ask whether their coverage is changing they are being given accurate information before signing anything.

I haven't been in to the store in over 2 1/2 years but I decided to upgrade my iPhone X to an iPhone 11 Pro Max Because we're moving to Hawaii it couldn't be shipped to my house in time... We were four days out from our Hawaii move so I called into the store and told him what I wanted and I had an appointment scheduled first thing in the morning for the next day I went in and was helped by Gerardo. The experience was super super good super professional and I got everything taken care of and handled. Literally I was surprised that this is the best experience that I have ever had in store and I wasn't there for more than an hour... Usually it takes me anywhere from 2 to 4 hours in there and it's so dreadful... But this experience was so different!

Disengaged staff, escalating behavior, and zero accountability…read moreI recently switched from AT&T to T-Mobile, hoping for a better customer service experience. Unfortunately, my very first in-store visit was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional interactions I have ever had with a business. I was directed by T-Mobile's phone support to visit this store to activate my SIM card. The visit the day before had already cost me unnecessary time. I was incorrectly told to go back to AT&T to fix an issue with my mom's phone, only to learn from AT&T that the problem had already been resolved. When I returned to this T-Mobile location, the issue was confirmed as non-existent. Two wasted trips. From the moment the associate supposedly named David began helping me, his demeanor was disengaged and dismissive. Rather than working toward a solution, he repeatedly deflected, telling me to call AT&T despite me having just come from there. When I calmly expressed that I was frustrated at being given the runaround as a brand new customer, his response was to tell me to "calm down" and to deflect responsibility by pointing out that he wasn't the associate who had helped me the day before, as if that somehow meant my frustration wasn't valid or wasn't his problem to address. That is not how customer service works. When you represent a brand, you represent the entire experience a customer has had, not just your individual shift. What followed was genuinely shocking. He walked to the back of the store and refused to continue helping me. When I followed up to ask for a manager, he slammed a door in my face. He then returned to the floor and began mumbling in a way that felt deliberately antagonizing. A second associate abandoned her own customer to insert herself into the situation, and a third used outright profanity. Not one of the three would provide their names when asked. What concerned me most was that all three associates demonstrated a complete lack of the basic customer service skills needed to handle a frustrated customer. Rather than de-escalating the situation, each one of them escalated it further. They fed into the tension instead of diffusing it, and behaved in ways that were deeply unprofessional. And what baffles me is that all of this happened on the sales floor, in front of other customers. That alone speaks volumes about the culture at this location. I want to be transparent: I was frustrated and I raised my voice. I can own that. But I was not aggressive. I was a new customer who had been sent on two unnecessary trips and was finally asking for someone to simply help me. Expressing that frustration is not the same as being out of line, and no level of customer frustration justifies a door being slammed, profanity, or a flat-out refusal to help. The manager who eventually came out, only after I specifically asked, was the only person in that store who actually had the skills the job requires. He was calm, professional, and de-escalated the situation almost immediately. And here is what is truly baffling: he was able to resolve the issue quickly and without any trouble, the very same issue the associates had claimed they couldn't help me with. That tells me the problem was never a technical one. It was a willingness one. I left AT&T because of poor service. I did not expect to be greeted by something worse on day one with T-Mobile. I hope corporate takes this seriously.
