Dishonest. Went there to buy a new Iphone; it was already decided. First tried to push all other phones except the iphone saying they were much better...alll of them (Moto, G, Samsung, all) BS. After we let him know we only wanted Iphone, he said we had to buy all accesories because it was really bad for the new phone to be connected with used accessories.....BS. Then, when entering stuff in the system, in a very quick move, he said he had added monthly protection ($11/month!!). I told him we didn't want it; he said it was necessary to protect us because of the period we had to return the equpment. I told him to take it out. He insisted. I told him to take it out. TLDR: Mike M., employee at this store and acting agent of Verizon Wireless, lied to my wife and I during our 02/10/2018 store visit regarding available promotions, contractual terms, and signed us up for services we did not agree to. Verizon Wireless [corporate] (VWC) has mitigated some of the harm done, but ultimately we will not know what recourse or reprimand befalls this employee. It should be noted that this review is a review of this store and the employee Mike, not VWC as a whole. I attempted to call the store during its normal business hours to discuss these issues and received no answer or available answering machine. I called both the phone number listed on Google (781-701-8198) and on VWC' store locator (617-916-5528). 1) Promotions: My wife and I let Mike know that we were shopping competitors. We had already researched various plans, and were mainly in to get information regarding the taxes and fees that are listed as being part of a bill but seemingly never disclosed on bill estimates when cross shopping plans. During our conversation we mentioned to Mike that we were happy Verizon Fios (VW) customers. He told us that we would be able to receive $10 a month off each of our VWC bills and our VF bills, thereby lowering our overall Verizon related bills by $20 per month. We asked Mike to verify that we would be eligible for such an offer as we only have 150 Mbps internet only service. He verified that we qualified and all we would need to do is contact both and tell them to link the accounts. Upon receiving the first bill on 02/20/2018 I called VWC to correct an item (more on this later) and to see about the $10 per month discount. I was then told that we would not qualify unless we had double or triple play service on the home account. I was offered $10 a month off my VWC bill for 6 months if Verizon Home could not help me, the service representative said she would stay on the line while we called the ISP. I was then forwarded to Frontier (not my ISP) to see if there was anything they could do for me, the person from the first call no longer on the line. Frontier, not my ISP, could do nothing. I was forwarded back to VWC, still got nowhere, back to VF (my ISP), and finally told that in order to qualify I would need both double or triple play and gigabit internet service. On a subsequent call (02/25/2018) with VWC our customer service representative, Venosha, gave us a onetime $60 credit to our account thereby honoring the $10 per month for the first 6 months discount discussed on 02/20/2018. 2) Total Mobile Protection: My wife and I asked for quotes about the phone protection plan during our store visit on 02/10/2018. Mike quoted us at $8 per phone. We declined protection. The first bill arrived and we were charged $13 per phone. Mike had both lied about the price and signed us up for a service that we did not agree to. During my first phone call with VWC on 02/20/2018 I was told this service was removed and would be refunded. The customer service representative only removed a prorated $8.36 per phone. On call on 02/25/2018 with VWC our customer service representative, Venosha, provided a credit for $9.28 on our upcoming bill thereby fully refunding the $13 per phone that was added without our permission. 3) Regarding Activation Fees: The salesperson, Mike, made no mention of activation fees. These were therefore a surprise on the bill. Activation fees were neither discussed nor mentioned. It is a $30 activation fee per phone. On our call on 02/25/2018 Venosha let us know that this fee is rightfully charged but should have been disclosed and employees at stores should know this. 4) Further Notes: Venosha offered at our insistence, to send an email to this store's general manager regarding our interaction with its employee Mike. Mike, also works at what I believe is the Newton, MA location on Needham St. (It has the same phone number on Google for this location as does VWC' store locator for the Waltham Tower Rd. location.) read more

My husband and I went to Verizon to get off of our current family plans and start a new one. The associate told us that it would take an an hour or so, but we had nothing planned for the night and said that we could wait. He didn't like this answer... and said the phone number release could take a while to process and it would be better to come back tomorrow. We planned on just getting it done, so we were unhappy when we were persuaded to leave to come back another day. My husband is also active Military so we asked if they had a military discount that he could offer. He said yes, and we asked if we could still make me the primary because I have an active duty Military ID. He said "No... If I could do that I would be able to get a discount because my father was in the military". Umm no reason to be rude, we were just asking. Because we were so upset with the poor customer service we received, we drove down the street and opened an account with AT&T. We walked out the door 30 min later with two iPhone 7's and a family plan. read more

I bought a tablet and was reassured I could bring it back in 30 days. But two weeks later and the tablet still in the box I learn it is a little more complicated. They don't tell you that their "verizon" store is a private retail store with no coordination with the national verizon or other verizon stores. I bought a verizon tablet with a verizon sim for my verizon account but cannot return it to a verizon store but only cellular sales. I am traveling a lot and assumed a verizon store is a verizon store. They didn't tell me that and now I am not in the area anymore and may not be able to return it because they also will not accept it by mail, as well,, verizon would. read more

I should have known to stay far away from this store after reading the reviews. But since I was only buying a car charger for my phone, I thought how bad could it be. So how bad was it - it was awful. I had the most unpleasant experience dealing with their salesperson Candice. She charged me more than she should have and when challenged, she insisted that she was right and that I was wrong. She became belligerent, loud and argumentative. It wasn't pretty. When I complained to the store manager, his attitude was one of complete indifference. My visit to this store ended when Candice said to me - "Get out of my face" and walked away. Can you imagine saying something like that to a customer?? I guess this store, and Candice specifically, never heard that the customer is always right. By the way, the next day I went to a real Verizon store and bought the car charger at the correct price. If you need anything from Verizon, it is best to go to a Verizon corporate store if you can. Honestly, I never write Yelp reviews it seems like a waste of time to me, but these people got me so upset that I feel like I have to. Yes, they do have great customer service, but there's a drawback... they are screwing you at the same time without you even realizing... Well... I called a few times about a recurring issue, and I even physically visited the store twice, both times they fiddled around with some settings in my phone (even though it ended up being the microphone, and defective) so of course I believed them because they're the professionals right? No. After I got in contact with apple and the real Verizon stores I called this store back. They were not knowledgable about any techniques I learned in the meantime and stuttered with almost every word, literally making answers up. I purposely asked them questions I already knew the answer to... did they answer correctly? Absolutely not. When I was in the midst of talking to other professionals I was made aware by an employee that they are "technically not a Verizon store, they just sell apple products".... well IF they are not actually Verizon, maybe the sign should be taken off the building. Future advice: if you do NEED to go into this store (all other options are exhausted) PLEASE go into the store knowing as much as possible. All they want is your money, as does every business, unlike others they just do it very unethically. Please be extremely cautious. read more

This place is not up to par with other Verizon stores. We waited over an hour for service as the clerks waited on people that came in after us. This was due to them having no check in system like other stores. The clerk completely ignored us for the first 45 minutes and as the people they were helping were about to leave he started talking about video games which lasted a little over 20 minutes. Maybe it was an off day but judging by the other reviews of this location, I doubt it. Very disappointed. read more

Buyer beware! I was lied to about my plan and misled about the terms of my upgrade. Understanding that there are fees and small print involved in these dealings, I asked appropriate questions and followed up on my account to be sure everything was handled as promised. It wasn't. Upon visiting the store to correct the error, I found even more fees were tacked on to my account and that my plan had, in fact, not been changed as per our agreement. With promises of "correcting" the mistake, I left feeling confident all had been resolved. It hadn't. Since purchasing my phone I have been to the store three times, contacted customer service twice, and been given many assurances that a manager (who never seems to be in the store mind you) will right all of these wrongs. At this point I have been charged an extraneous $240 in fees, and who knows how many more will pop up on my bill. I have been a Verizon customer for over 15 years and have never had anything like this happen before. If you want to upgrade or purchase a device do yourself a favor and avoid this store. Worst. Experience. Ever. And while most VZW stores are renowned for their up-sell haranguing, this Needham St. location crosses the line to deceitful and despicable. The sales rep, Voury Gong, was unprofessional in his flirting even after I asked him to stop asking me personal questions. He lied when I asked about accessory compatibility for the new iphone I was buying and when I fact-checked him on the apple website and pointed out his error, he just talked faster and smiled brighter. 3 times I asked if my data would be transferred for free to the new iphone I purchased and 3 times I was told yes...of course! Upon paying for my new phone, a $40 charge was added for the transfer. I objected and the "manager" stepped in and asked the problem, which I relayed to him. Self-proclaimed manager, Zach Schwartz insisted his rep would never tell me it was free and stated the charge was "standard". I said I specifically asked 3 times because I'm on a limited budgetd. The rep now stepped forward, put his finger in my face and insisted I was lying. I asked him to respect my space and remove his finger. Then the young flustered manager again backed his rep and stated that I was being abusive in my language. I certainly was not. Two guys double-teaming a female client with nonsense and I'M being abusive. Zach Schwartz is a joke. I hope the regional manager will take to video surveillance and correct this unprofessional manner of VZW employees. I've since checked and data transfer is free at other locations and at the apple store. SPARE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND NEVER SHOP AT THIS VERIZON STORE!!! read more
