Rather than going through the basement and hooking up to the modem in the kitchen, they ran black wires on the outside of the house, up around the door frame and into the house and significantly damaged my house by drilling 30 holes into the clapboard. They can back and redid the installation the right way, but I had to have a painter come to repair the holes and paint the clapboard. It cost me $300 for this. I was told I would be reimbursed for this and have called numerous times. I get the run around. I've called many times, spoke to all different people and have been told that "the installer who did the botched installation will have to pay me out of his own pocket" -- meaning the technicians who come to your house do not work for Optimum but are subcontracted out by some other comany. I did not know this. But no one will tell me the name of the technician who came or how to get in touch with him. They continue to skirt this issue and I have not been reimbursed for damage they did to my house.
