I have been a loyal customer of Verizon since I can remember and today at this store I received the most unprofessional service. The management did not take accountability for the major mistake of their employee that hurt my credit because they didn't do their job. For this reason the only option they left me with is one to hurt my credit. I am now looking for a new service provider due to this horrifying experience as a customer. They get a 0 for not caring for their loyal and responsible customer. 0 for customer service. Perhaps if they had professional skills and empathy for this case I would have chosen to stay with Verizon, however their attitude and disinterest was disheartening. I remained quiet the entire time and explained the circumstances, however was met with demeaning attitude by their "solutions manager." And to top it off they didn't give me all the correct shipping documents for the trade in, so I had to make another trip back here to pick them up and was STILL given attitude as if I had done something wrong. We used the "Make an appointment" feature and were greeted right on time! My son was home from college for just a few days, and I own the family plan, so time was short. Michael, our Sales Rep, was awesome. He was so efficient, explained everything very clearly to us. My husband sent me with a question about billing and Michael quickly pointed out the answer. As well, they have a great inventory. And while you're waiting for the paperwork, there is bottled water and a friendly manager there to make sure you are comfortable. I had just had dental surgery the day before, so the comfort factor was good for me! My husband and I had seen the San Marino Verizon store on a Saturday when we were on the street going to an art framing store, and this Verizon store was practically empty. Empty, turns out, is a bad sign. Michael, our Sales rep, said that I should be receiving a survey from Verizon on his performance, but I haven't received it yet. I told Michael and the manager (Victor?) that I would go on Yelp and give them 5 stars. Having been in customer support in the computer industry for 30 years, I appreciate that happy customers don't call you up and say, "I love your software." My wife and I have been Verizon customers for over 6 years now. This store, in particular, treated us like our loyalty didn't matter at all. Not only is the store always crowded and loud, requiring me to often wait for 45 minutes before getting help, but when I do get help, the representatives at the store have either lied to me or been completely helpless, including the store managers. I will never return to that store. I have spent years in customer service, and this experience was the worst experience of quality customer service I have ever observed of all stores I have ever been in. There was dishonesty, avoidance, and clear negligence on their part. Fortunately, Verizon has a few good customer service agents on the phone and my problem was resolved. If I were corporate Verizon, I would hire a consultant and either do some serious training in that store, or I would "clean house" and start again at that location. Here's my story in short: Recently, when we upgraded our plan and got new phones, the representative misrepresented the deal on the Jetpack. Not only did the representative not tell us the truth about the Jetpack, but then he submitted the Jetpack to a subaccount which is both invisible to the customer and the customer service agents unless you specifically ask for them to look for it. There was a $90 difference per month in what we agreed on and what was charged. When I tried to rectify the issue the store managers promised they would work it out in 2 or 3 days. 3 weeks later and after 4 voicemails that were never returned by Fadia, the store manager, I went into the store, waited an hour to talk with Fadia at which time I learned she had done nothing for my case. She tried to fix it, but was not able to adequately fix my problem. So, she handed me a phone and had me call customer service. I spent 5 hours in the store and nobody would do anything to help. For the next couple weeks I had to call in regularly to speak with managers and those managers supervisors. Eventually I was able to get the problem solved, but not without a lot of headache. My mother lost her phone and needed another. I went into the store earlier that day met and spoke with Jimmy. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and no car salesman approach which I really appreciated. After looking at some options I advised I would pick up my mom and bring her back later. Now, there is a Vz store 1 block from my mom in Burbank and another larger store 10 min away; but, because of Jimmys' demeanor earlier, I chose to go pick her up and bring her baxk to my local store. We had the good fortune to be serviced by Jimmy and he did not disappoint again he was consistent explaining the options to my 88 yr old mom on the new smart phone we were looking at purchasing. She didn't remember passwords so he got her new phone started, helped us reset the password so her contacts etc. Would come over (WE REALLY APPRECIATED THIS)!!! While he helped her with that Iooked around the store. I ended up buying a case, popper for the back, and earbuds! He is exceptional and I'll definitely go back to buy other items I have already eyed for Christmas. I will specifically shop when he is there. My story: I went into Verizon Wireless on Sunday to simply get information regarding my account. The salesman was doing the used car hard sell as usual. I left telling him I didn't want any changes or new services at this time. Left the store and when I got home I began getting notices that my account changed. So I called Verizon and low and behold the slimy low life scum dog altered my plan without my permission. The customer service person changed it back. Don't go to this commission driven piece of $hit store. The sales people are the worst I have ever experienced in my life. The atmosphere is like doing business a black market alley way in Damascus. This place is truly shady. You seem to have to wait 20 minutes to see anybody yet there's 15+ staff walking around the store. Got talked into getting a glass "protective shield" for my new iPhone 6. It's was super marked up, almost triple the normal price, but I was told that if anything happens to the glass shield, chip or cracks, that they'd replace it in the store for free. I had it 4 days, pulled it outta my pocket, and noticed a larch chip and a crack. No drop, or incident occurred. Just a defective product. Took it to the store. They flat out turned me away. Said I had to call company. I did, and I got a new screen, but had to pay $10 for shipping. Now I'm in almost $50 on a screen I could get on Amazon for $12.99. Don't trust these people at all. By far the worse Verizon I've ever been to in the entire country. Terrible customer service, rude employees and dirty store. I went in yesterday and waited outside in the heart for 30min because the store reached capacity. I asked the associate for a 6 plus S Screen protector. I go home to find out he gave me a 6 s screen protector not a 6 plus. Won't fit at all. I go back the next day and explain the situation to - I hate to judge - but the grimiest looking employee ever. Long hair, long nails and smelled terrible. Worse attitude ever. He asks if I knew who sold me it and makes me awkwardly point out the employee. He goes over to the employee and tells me to wait one second. I wait 30min while he goes in the back. Both employees past me multiple times without apologizing or even explaining what's going on. The guy comes back and says he can't return it - DESPITE IT NOT EVEN BEING OPEN - only exchange it. I'm getting a new phone in a month anyway why bother at this point. Wouldn't even credit it to my account. Worse of all with my two hours being there(which made me late to work) I was never even given an apology or explanation. Is it really that hard to say just sorry? Instead he threw the protector in my face and left. No thanks, sorry or have a nice day. Who hires these dirty kids? They lie to make a sale. Went in November last year and Angel told us that they were having a Black Friday special where you can get a mobile hot spot for free and service is $10/mo and you can cancel anytime. A month later we decided we didn't need this and tried to take it back. After waiting for 1.5 hours to talk to someone, manager Jason said it's not returnable and there's a two year contract. This was the opposite of what we were told in person. I've contacted Verizon and they've said that since there's a signed contract it doesn't matter what was told to us in person since they can't verify what was promised. At that time I had also switched my phone line and they had made other promises of a rebate which took me 3 two hour visits to get done. Angel seemed like a nice guy but we now feel duped by this store. Definitely recommend not going to this location. They lie to make a sale and then later tell you something different. read more

This store is an awful cesspool of hopelessness. I really don't mind Verizon as a company; I have been with them for seven years. Every time that I have had to speak to a representative on the phone it has been a pleasant experience. And until today I would have recommended them wholeheartedly for their service and phone selection, but after my contract ends in July, I will be leaving for another carrier because I'd rather eat poison than walk into this store again and have to deal with the smarmy sales clerk that I met this evening. And thus begins a stupid and long story. This afternoon I walked in to have my phone looked at because it was stuck in "flashboot mode." The clerk wanted to reset it to factory condition, but I wanted to take it home and make sure that pictures of my kids were able to backed up before they wiped it clear. During this meeting, the associate, Addee, said that I was eligible for an early upgrade, so that I should go home, double-check that everything was backed up, bring it back and try and reset it, and if that didn't work, being that I was eligible for an upgrade they could replace it with a new one that night. After going home and checking to see if everything was backed up, I went back to the store that evening to see if they could reset the phone. They could not. I asked about the upgrade that the other sales associate mentioned, but was told that it wasn't technically an early upgrade and that I would have to pay some money upfront and I was then offered a number of options that would costs me four to five-hundred dollars extra on top of my current bill. I mentioned that other sales associate -who was still in the store but never consulted--made no mention of paying upfront, but that it would be a free upgrade. I felt like I was being bent over a barrel. The phone had broken as to no fault of my own and felt it absurd that one clerk would say 'do this and come back' where the other was unable to budge or even consult the other clerk to find out what she was thinking. In the smuggest manner possible I was told how my two-year contract only stipulated that the company provide me with a working phone for one year, not two. I mentioned that I had loved ones in the hospital and child care issues that required me to have a working phone, to which again, without hesitancy, or even a look of, ' I'm sorry, I get it, they are not my policies,' but rather in that tone that a security guard gets after attaining some petty level of authority that has gone to his head just continued to offer me the same options right after another. Lastly, it was mentioned that I could activate an old phone, but I mentioned had I known I would have brought the old phone that was sitting in the kitchen cabinet before driving all the way down from Altadena. As I left in a huff, someone sarcastically shouted after me "Merry Christmas." Really? Where is the adult tending shop at this store? Fucking ridiculous. I can understand that a contract is a contract, and that I was upset that the options that were being offered were insufficient and out of my price range, and maybe, just maybe even set aside the fact that the clerk or manager or whomever did not verify with Addee to get to the bottom of what was meant by early upgrade, but I cannot set aside the petulant tone and oily remarks of a clerk that holds himself with an undeserved sense of accomplishment that is beyond sense or reason This is simply not customer service by any stretch of the imagination. This is simply beyond me. Go anywhere else but here. Avoid this rotten, little shit sty. See it for the plague it is. read more

I recently placed a Verizon order for a new phone by calling customer service. I won't bore you with all the ways the order was completely messed up. All I'll say is that I was ready to switch carriers after 17+ years with Verizon until I went to the store on Lake Ave. in Pasadena. I was greeted and signed in immediately. Everyone there was concerned, friendly, helpful and worked hard to fix the mess. Unfortunately, customer service made another error and shipped the phone to the wrong address and I didn't find out until the next day when I got the UPS tracking information. At this point I was totally fed up and drove back to the store in complete disgust and frustration. Thankfully, after much time and effort, store manager Dennis got absolutely everything corrected, got Verizon to issue me a credit for all the difficulties they caused and made sure I was satisfied before I left. I can't praise this particular location highly enough. Thanks to them, and Dennis in particular, I will stay with Verizon and always go directly to the store from now on for all my phone needs. This is the 3rd unfortunate waste of time i spent in there since i moved to the area. This "Customer Service" center is a PRIME example of what has gone wrong with old-school American customer service - somebody before me even wrote that the employees act like the customers owe THEM service! i agree! Terrible, snide service. They take their time, waste yours, act condescendingly, and when they are in fact finally speaking to the customer, it is AT or THROUGH you, w/o eye contact, and with a wimpy repetition of some sentences that came directly from the corporate intro session that must be mandatory to all employees. When i arrived, there was a young woman at the check-in station who mumbled barely audibly, "hello welcome to bla-bla, how can i help you?" i told her my phone was broken, to which she asked "and what do you want to do about it?" what the heck do you mean, "what do you want to do about it? - what do YOU want to do about it - shall i pop open a bottle of champagne and celebrate? HELP ME OUT HERE!!!!" When we eventually got "helped" , the next human being was full of we can't- can't -can't with no offer of options or solutions - yeah if it weren't for the good mobile reception all over the LA area... Come here if you want to experience first-hand the results of our failing education system currently churning out Dumb and Dumbers at warp speed! i recommend avoiding this place at all costs and calling Verizon directly - the customer service via phone is and always has been of the highest quality and i now realize that's what has kept me a faithful customer for many years. Whenever i have called the company customer service directly, there is always somebody courteous and knowledgeable on the other end, who speaks proper English and can use their experience to offer sound advice. I wanted an iphone 6 and was dealing with sales associate Ashton. Before I went there I text Ashton asking if the iphone 6 was available in the store. He said he could "not guarantee" it would be available when I came in. I asked again if the iphone 6 was available right at that time. He said that he had the iphone 6 in the color I wanted but he couldn't hold it for me. Fair enough. The next day, I met Ashton at the Verizon store to get the iphone 6 in space grey. He finally admitted that the store has been out of iphone 6 for weeks but had one yesterday because someone returned it. I couldn't come in yesterday and it was sold. What was I to do? I needed to switch carriers but couldn't do it elsewhere since I wasted time coming to this verizon store. I had to sign up with Ashton. I switched to a family plan with my parents on it. He got me an Iphone 6 for home delivery and told me it might come sooner than the expected date. I go home and check my email. The expected delivery date was more than 3 weeks! Almost 2 weeks go by and I check on the status. Nothing. I shop online verizon store and pretend to buy an iphone 6 - same delivery date as my 2 week old order. WTF? Why is it taking longer in store? I text Ashton to complain about all the dishonesty. He said he "CLEARLY" explained the situation to me beforehand. So if you think "I can not guarantee it would be available" clearly means that the iphone 6 has been out of stock in the store for weeks, then go ahead and give Ashton 5 stars. He was unapologetic, he did not respond to my request for a credit because I am on 2 cell phone plans while I wait for the iphone. In fact he told me that I could try to go somewhere else like the apple store but they would be out of stock too. The next day, went to the apple store in Old Town. Got the exact iphone I wanted there. I just want to warn everyone: Do not trust the sales associates here. They twist words around. Why can't the purchase just be stress free? I wish I was joking when I say that every time I walk into this store, I end up walking out without any resolution to my problem. Tonight was the worst yet though. I literally walked in with the full intent on walking out with a new tablet in my hands. Easy sale. Instead, when I finally got someone to talk to me, they informed me I had to sign in, then informed me that, OOPS, I just missed my chance to sign in and they closed the queue for the night... 45 minutes before the store closed. Had to spend a lot of time on the phone with Verizon Wireless, and they fixed some of it, but I'm still out about $50 that I should never have been charged. Twice in the store, I asked to talk to the manager, and was told she was busy. This place is smarmy. My experience here was negative in almost every imaginable respect. While I was waiting for a customer service rep, I watched 2 other customers engaged in a pretty contentious arguments with Verizon reps. I couldn't help but overhear, and it became obvious that the Verizon reps were pushing services on the customers that they weren't interested in. They didn't seem to be taking no for answer. In fact, seemed to be getting legitimately angry and resentful with customers for not going along with it. I ended up having a similar experience as them. I wanted a simple single line plan, but the Verizon guy kept trying to sell me stuff I didn't want. It was super obvious that he was getting pressure from whatever management is above him to sell this extra stuff. I went with absolutely every intention on signing up for a plan there, and I left with every intention of never giving Verizon a dollar of my money. It's possible that I just had a particularly bad experience and had I started with someone else it would've been completely different. But I couldn't help but think based on the other customer interactions I witnessed and the overwhelming feeling that management pressure employees this way. It seems to me to be just the way this store has decided to try and do business. In my opinion, it's a bad business model and bad way to try and sell things. I ended up switching my plan to T mobile, and it was a great decision. If you enjoy being bullied and pressured in surprisingly antagonist ways then store may be the place for you. If you enjoy obscurification and sales people who do not give direct answers to direct question then this may be the place for you. If you enjoy dealing with people are not transparent and seem to be constantly trying to bully and manipulate customers then this may be the place for you. read more

I'll never step foot in this Verizon store ever again and after reading this you might not want to either. My father and I came to update our phones, he is on the edge plan and I was looking to get on it too. A worker named Darnelle assisted us, he broke down my options...I can purchase the phone on my upgrade or join the edge plan and get this "bundle". With the edge bundle he explained how it cost $265 ish and I had $207 to spend on accessories I did not need, but stupid me thought I had to buy them! My dad kept asking him "are you sure she needs to purchase those? I don't remember spending that much on the edge plan? My understanding is you are just making payments on the phone." Darnelle was very shady and NOT clear I didn't have to spend $207 on accessories! I could have just purchased the phone! I ended up spending over $300 on the edge bundle when all I wanted was the damn phone. After we left my Dad decided he would go to Costco because that is where he bought his other phone on the plan, he called me up after and said he spent way less for his upgrade and Darnelle fooled me into spending way more! So I decided to call customer service and asking if this "bundle" was mandatory and they said NO it's an option. They asked me "he didn't tell you?" I said "NO! I am returning this phone" SO I went to a Verizon store in Upland and the worker there said that was not right what he did and he would give the Pasadena store a call to tell them what he is doing. Thankfully he returned my accessories and just charged me for the phone! Please read reviews before visiting stores. I've heard horrible things about this store! I've been a Verizon customer for over 8 years & pay $240 a month for my cell plan (which I pay on time every time). I went in today to upgrade my phone but since I'm on an unlimited data plan, I was told that I would have to pay retail price or get the contract price but lose my unlimited status. That's fine if that's your rule but your sales rep should not be rude & condensing about it & you should train them. They are on the sales floor to sell phones & customer service but with the disinterested attitude I was so turned off that I left a very dissatisfied customer. My husband got his phone stole and had a problem with the insurance company and we couldn't get process a claim. Long story short I came to verizon to get him a new phone willing to pay full price (we haven't hit our upgrade time). From the time I walked in til the time I left everyone was so friendly and nice. I ended up talking to Cindy who was more then helpful and understood my situation. She was able to get me the s6 with paying less then what I should have. She included a speaker, a phone case (an otter box), a car charger and even a temper glass for the phone. And she even threw in an iPad mini! I ended up paying way less then what I originally intended to pay for the phone itself and my phone bill stays the same!! (It does not go up at all) I am so happy I came here and talked to Cindy she really helped me out and was very friendly! I would diffidently be returning when I want to upgrade my phone or even if I have any questions. read more

If you go into the Pasadena Verizon store avoid costumer representative Christina at all costs. She is rude, condescending, and not knowledgeable enough to help you anyway. I've been at this location before and have been treated professionally and with courtesy. Christina is just plain bad at costumer service. She is impatient, easily exasperated, and gives you terrible attitude. Even after I pointed out that I didn't like her attitude, she continued to talk and give me directions/information without trying to correct the situation or to apologize. I think her manager needs to have a talk with her. He attitude is unacceptable! This may be the push I needed to take up my husband's suggestion and move to AT&T. read more

I had a mess with my "contacts", endlessly replicated beyond the help of 4 other Verizon stores, including the Samsung desks at Best Buys too. Only he understood the problem, knew the cause, and worked tirelessly, relentlessly and innovatively to reduce nearly 8K entries down to a manageable number. He also set me up to do the final cleanup corrections on my own. I had watched him give similar attention to a customer before me, giving undivided attention to each person he served. First of all, the staffs are rude and unprofessional. I was at the Verizon store in Pasadena (on Lake) to purchase a replacement for my broken basic phone. As a long time loyal customer of Verizon, the level of services I have received at this store was totally unacceptable. Jason was the sales associate who came up to me after 15 minutes of waiting in the store. He initially refused to help me even though I was an authorized user of the account with a valid ID and security PIN. We went to his manager, Mark who then instructed him to send a verification code to the main user of the account. After the verification was completed, Jason insisted to send another verification code and was again verified by the main user. Then it took him a long time to bring out the phone and told me that I need to pay the full price upfront and an upgrade fee because I was not the main user of the account. He will and can not sell the phone to me on a device payment plan. I immediately felt there are something misleading and his action was suspicious. We went back to Mark and were told that it is the store policy and there is nothing he can do. He then told me to contact his general manager, Jennifer if I don't agree with his decision. So I left the store without a replacement phone. But I was able to purchase the same phone from another Verizon store on the same day without any problem at all. The associates at the other store were absolutely terrific compared to these 2 folks in the Pasadena store. I really hope the management in the Pasadena store takes this matter seriously. at my 3rd trip there to return a defunct phone, there was a woman hanging with her head in her hands on the counter...saying this was her 3rd trip too...on my 4th (my latest) trip, to return the defunct replacement phone, there was an irate customer, throwing things. So, I was told, again, that FedEx would deliver the replacement, then I have to pack and ship the defunct phone back... so after driving around to find a FedEx store, I saw one w/a FedEx truck and guy right there. He saw my box and said "Verizon?" "That's all our work now; shuffling phones back and forth to Verizon" "I'd never buy a Verizon product and as soon as your contracts over...get out" Flabbergasted that this company stays in business. When this 4th replacement phone blows out (it's a refurbished one and it will), I may not even care about penalties for cancelling a contract. read more

I signed in to their automated system which did not work well at all, but with patience and persistence, I did it and got the notice that my signing in process was complete. Waiting, waiting, waiting..... my name was not on the screen. Flagged someone down to tell them - they said my name must have been deleted. Great. He added my name to the waiting list. Finally called by a guy with a very tight, very lavender button down shirt. He didn't come looking for me, just yelled out my name. No smile, he was not at all friendly or pleasant. He asked for my cell phone number even though I had already entered all of my information when I signed in. Then, get this, he asked me for my account password! Seriously? That's one of the first and biggest things we are all told never to do. He was very cocky and acted very bothered by my declining to give him my password. "Well, I can see it anyway. I need to verify this is your account. Blah, blah, blah, blah blah blahhhhhh....." Instead, I showed him my driver's license. We started the process of getting information about the kind of phone I wanted to order, but I just could not tolerate him or his attitude, so I told him that it just wasn't going to work out for me and I left. Needed some answers as my Droid 4 simply died the night before. Arrived right as store opened, figuring I would get the best service and answers. my agent, Caesar, determined that I needed new phone and since I'm under warranty he would arrange for replacement. When I balked at the FedEx service charge to get overnight delivery, he got nasty. I was seeking a solution to my problem and got a lecture instead. so a year of bad reviews and nothing has changed. i called this store twice today to inquire on how i can upgrade my iphone 5 to the new iphone 6. both sales associates i talked to, one female and one male, were rude and condescending to me on the phone. the guy i talked to also sounded like a gangster, to tell you the truth. no "ma'am" and no "how can i help you" from both of them. there are so many people looking for jobs right now. can't you hire more professional and more educated ones? read more

Went in to buy a cellular booster and possibly a new cellphone. It was after 5:00 PM and there was a long wait time. Gave me time to browse and play. Was eyeing the Samsung Note Edge. Was told by Haroon that it was recalled due to antenna issues. I told him I didn't find anything online regarding the recall. He then said it was recalled by Verizon which didn't really make sense. If the phone was recalled, it would most likely be recalled by all carriers that sell the phone. I'd still like to have one. Then, he said they pulled the phones and they were not available for purchase. Shady! The store was out of stock on the cellular booster. I'm sure they were out of stock of the Samsung Note Edge as well. Double fail. When I went to another Verizon retail store, I was told that the Samsung Note Edge has NOT been recalled by the manufacturer or by Verizon. Called the store to speak to the manager. First time I called, they couldn't hear me? Then, I was put on hold for a long time by Becky. Then, they hung up on me. They knew who I was and had my phone number when I called and didn't bother to call me back. Very disappointed in this store! Will bring my business elsewhere! read more
