On Monday, May 22, 2017, I stepped into Verizon in Pasadena, the Lake Avenue store. I had only two minor issues and left with ALL MY CONTACTS, MESSAGES, PICTURES AND VIDEOS DELETED!!I came across 4 individuals. ANGEL, the first guy who handled my phone, a second guy whose name I didn't get, RAY the manager, and LOU, a very pompous salesperson! Lou kept questioning what buttons I pressed to mess up my phone. He absolutely refused to accept that anyone else would do a factory reset to delete all my information because I would have to formally give my consent. He told me that I need to be accountable for my phone and then added that when Angel handled my phone, all my contacts, messages, and pictures were already gone. However, I stood next to Angel, watching what he did to my phone. He never checked my messages, contacts, or pictures. In fact, I had just reviewed all my pictures, messages, and contacts before I entered the store. I even sent my daughter a text just a few minutes before and she also responded. Angel pressed a few buttons and a green android monster came on screen. He then tried pressing a few more buttons and quickly set my phone down before referring me to the next guy, who took the phone directly from him. By the time the next guy had the phone, the phone was stuck and had a number on the screen that I needed to call. He referred me to Lou who showed me which display phone to use. I call the number and speak with a technical support person, Dominique. Dominique instructs me to first go to my messages. Before we could move forward, I suddenly realize that all my messages are gone. I then go to my pictures - all gone, and my contacts - all deleted! I try to ask Lou for his assistance but he was very defensive. In order to help me, Dominique asks to speak with Lou. Lou refuses. Dominique then explains to me that very specific buttons would have needed to be pressed to reset my phone and delete all my information. I relay this information to Lou and Lou agrees. Lou continues to question me regarding what specific buttons I pressed. Before I entered the store, I pressed send (to send a text message to my daughter). While I was in the store, I only clicked my "messages" app only to find everything gone. Those were the only buttons I pressed. Dominique can tell I'm very upset and he again requests to speak with Lou. Lou refuses, shaking his head and saying "No", so I tell Dominique that Lou refuses. Lou then finally takes the phone and says to me, "I didn't say that! Did I say that I refused?". He FINALLY takes the phone and speaks with Dominique very briefly and hands the phone back to me. Once again, Dominique is very empathetic and apologizes for what I am experiencing. I tell Dominique that no one wants to take accountability. Lou blurts out, "That includes you mam! You need to take accountability!" I finally go to Ray, the manager to explain what happened. He tells me there's absolutely no way to back track what happened and there's nothing he can do. Later that day, my daughter calls to speak with Ray. She mentions the green android monster that I saw as Angel was handling my phone. Ray explains that sometimes that happens unexpectedly so he still can't prove his employees are responsible. Why didn't Angel say anything? He didn't seem alarmed at all when the green android monster appeared after he pressed a few buttons. In fact, he looked at it for a few more moments, pressed a couple more buttons, then quickly placed my phone down as he quickly referred a second guy to look at it. When the second guy quickly picked it up, the green android monster was gone and a message appeared instructing to call a specific number for more assistance. Final thought: If you have a problem with your phone, DO NOT GO TO VERIZON ON LAKE AVE. DO NOT LET ANGEL TOUCH YOUR PHONE. DO NOT COMPLAIN TO RAY. (He will tell you that there's no way to back track). AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONVERSATION WITH LOU. My minor issue was that I didn't have enough data. That is why I couldn't access internet. Also, Google maps was acting up. If you come in with a minor issue, and, before you even leave the store, you find that all your contacts, messages, pictures and videos are deleted, LOU WILL INSIST THAT YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE. He's a really special guy, overflowing with integrity!! read more

The last couple of times that I have gone to this store I have not been happy with their service at all!!! This last time was no different. I was trying to upgrade one of my lines by using an upgrade from one of the other lines, which I did for my line a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember the name of the man who "helped" me, but he was African american with an accent. He was actually no help at all! He said that I couldn't do an upgrade unless that line had an upgrade available. I told him that I had just gotten my upgrade there on my line from another line a couple of weeks ago and he just said well I don't know how you did it but you can't do it! It was so frustrating trying to talk to him because he just wasn't and didn't want to listen to me. So after waiting about 35 minutes for someone to "help" us, this is the answer we got! I called customer service as we left the store and they told me that it is not true, that they are able to do it. So, I put in a formal complaint and I headed over to the Glendale Galleria Verizon store and they were able to help me do what I needed to do. Seriously, this Pasadena store sucks! I really wouldn't recommend going there, I know I will no be going there again. read more

Worst customer service ever! If possible don't go to this Verizon store. I love the Verizon network but some of the employees working at this store need to be re-trained on how to treat customers with respect. Sales rep Stephen Kajerkian refused to help me change to a prepaid plan said it couldn't be done. Then he put me on another 1 year contract without even telling me. Never once did I hear an apology from him or the manager Richard who didn't seem to care how his employee treated me! Instead a great employee named Jessica Sanchez took over for Stephen and called the right department to get the contract reversed since it was never authorized. She apologized even though she never did anything wrong and guess what? She changed me to a prepaid plan and I got to keep my number which is all I wanted in the first place! Got to this store at 6pm and left at 9:15pm after there closing time of 9pm!! Thanks to Stephen Kajerkian's horrible customer service I spent over 3 hours at this place.. I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 10 years and I have never had such a bad experience! Don't shop at this store if possible!!! read more

Have been here a couple of times and the reps are very helpful. My husband had an issue with his phone and they resolved it quickly with no problems, while a different Verizon store we went to previously was unable to help. Holy WoW!!! It never fails when you have a gripe about a bad experience with a company and want to tell the world, people have already beat you too the chase. I mean look at the bad reviews. My issue unfolded in the last few days after buying a phone here about two years ago. The so called great Google Pixel - at a discount! Imagine that. While religiously paying my bill as any customer would, I ignored the slow mishaps that started to happen. Apps freezing. Playing a video on Youtube and getting all pixels in different colors. So finally, I had enough and decided I want this mess fixed. So they send out a replacement phone. Guess what? It's defected too. Doesn't shut off properly. The mic doesn't work. Sometimes it won't unlock.... So with a little internet search - apparently the ole' pixel phone is a hot mess. Now I want out of it, but oh wait, I haven't paid off this piece of crap yet, so either I pay out the contract on a defective phone or have them keep sending me another phone of the same brand. No thanks! On the phone for nearly two hours. Back and forth. I left Verizon with a great cancellation. Horrible company. Funny thing is...look at how they are setup. Everything is via chat, you rarely can get to a live person. They know you need them. The only way you can break away is to go somewhere else. I cant believe that verizon claims it is the best network and then they have the worse customer service on the planet. Was planning to buy iphone 7 went there 4 different times I saw them walking around freely but nobody even asking if I needed help. They were acting like we are waiting to meet with celebrities and they don't have time to look at us finally when I had the chance to talk with them he event didn't bother to explain what options d I have. Just repeating you have a lot of options and yea you have a lot of options. OK what are those options???? Just an aweful waiting room most of the time. Sometimes you just have to go in and pay a bill and ur good, but sometimes you need to talk to a rep and its like the dmv, you're just waiting, and you see them just messing around in the back. If u have a question i'd try to figure it out over the phone with a rep, but if you have to go in and change your phone or something, bring something to keep yourself busy as you wait for the reps to finish chatting before helping you out. read more

I guess I am just confirming the overall reviews of the place but the service here has not improved despite the "hip" "Apple store looking interior and customer service reps with cool mobile devices to check people in. This was the second Verizon I visited in one day and each had a problem--one did not have the SIM card I needed, the other could not access my account. One blamed the other store and so on. I guess I would adopt a glib attitude myself if I had to work here and spend the day fixing situations that are probably due to Verizon's dysfunctional information management and inconsistencies. This store took a lot of time out of a busy Saturday afternoon to fix a mess created by the horrible franchise Connect store on Colorado. And I was not in the nicest of moods when I first got there either. It took some time, because I had a defective phone that they didn't carry anymore, but after talking to corporate customer service (who sent me there in the first place), and the manager, they worked out a deal that allowed me to leave with a better, working phone and a new contract. While the previous retailer kept giving me defective phone after defective phone, I am confident that if I have any problems, this store will take care of it. read more

I had such a pleasant experience at this location that I'd like the take the time to write a review on how great the customer service here was. I came in last Thursday with an issue on my data plan that I had been having all month. Basically my phone was dead and I wanted to activate an old phone. Well since Verizon has their new data plans, they wanted to remove my unlimited data. For the last month I was being told that I had to remove my unlimited data. Then I was helped my an employee at this location named Brianna. Kudos to Brianna. She put the time and effort into helping me out. She thought like a customer. For almost an hour she was on the phone with different people telling them my issue until she was finally able to reach someone that was able to help. I knew I was in good hands. She took the time to listen to what I was telling her and I finally felt like someone was on my side. It turned out there was a system glitch and they got it all figured out at the end. I always thought that it was a better idea to go into a company owned store so that you didn't have to deal with a bunch of BS. Well I stand corrected. This place is horrible. What they did is actually border line illegal. I went in to buy two additional iPhones to ad to my account for two employees of mine. The salesman named Donald took care of me, I thought. He took care of me alright. He proceeded to tell me that he would give me a piece of equipment called a "hotspot", which I didn't want or need, but he said it would be free as a special and make my deal work better. Well after getting my bill, I was charged $159 for it and I was put into a contract for it as well. That's not the only problem, he activated this thing and then deactivated it three times under three different phone numbers for some reason and I was charged activation and deactivation fees each time on my bill. I come to find out later that this is done as a way to get commission for each line, and some salesman do it to people that have a lot of accounts because they assume they won't see it. Well when I called Verizon, they said to go back to the store because this absolutely should not have happened. So I call and tell the manager Ryan the story, he says to come on in. I drive to the store right away, which took about 20 minutes, when I get there they say that Ryan supposedly had to leave because of an emergency. Come to find out that he was actually there and didn't want to have to deal with me. He comes walking out from some downstairs door and an employee says hey Ryan, and everybody gets all weird. Then they say he is a different Ryan. Finally the guy that scammed me helps me after I wait 45 minutes. He try's to say that he explained it to me that he was going to put a credit on my bill in a few weeks, which makes no sense at all. I ask why he activated and then deactivated 3 different lines, that I was charged for in addition to the two new lines I added and he said it was just a simple mistake. I have now been standing here for two hours and he is still moving from computer to computer saying that he is trying to figure it out! Isn't it funny how friendly these employees are when your buying phones, but how everything changes when you catch them doing shady business. read more

First of all Verizon and probably all other phone companies are the worst. They know you have to use them and they use tricky fees and bait and switch offers to screw you over. So already going in it's not a good company. As for this particular store I went there because I ordered a iphone and selected in store pick up. You'd think that if you payed in advnce for a phone it would be really easy. You should just go in, give your name and take your phone. NOT THIS STORE! I had to put my name in for an estimated 30 minute wait. I wandered around the area (there's nothing cool to look at so I ended up sitting in my car listening to the radio). When I finally got back they got a person to talk to me. He then proceeded to try to sell me something else! He insisted for several minutes that I had to finalize the purchase through him before I could get my phone! WHAT? I said no, look at my confirmation order here in my email that I already paid for this phone, please give it to me so i can leave. He still was trying to talk me into some kind of payment structure change! After pointing to my email several times I finally got him to go back to look. After another 10 minutes of waiting he finally brings out the phone but says my credit card didn't work. At that point I was just done with this place and decided to stick with the phone I had. I checked my credit card and the charge went through so I guess he messed it up somehow and I'll have to cancel it. So in conclusion I recommend that you just send your phone directly to your house and also consider just not going with Verizon but in all honesty, there's probably not any nice phone companies so any way you go you're screwed. He was obviously trying to get through the long list of waiting customers. Oh and he was extremely rude and either wasn't listening or couldn't understand my issue. Since this is 'corporate' store, I expected top notch customer service, not! My wife and I came in to request a print out of our final bill. We called customer service several times and got the run around. It has been over 2 + weeks since we've terminated our plans switching to T-Mobil. I have been a Verizon customer for over a decade. Michelle was not very helpful. We were told it cost $5 to print our bill, really??? I would think as a long time customer (Michelle said she has no info on this), Verizon will train their staff to value their customers ... and at least show some empathy of the fact that I had called customer services many times... and took the time to drive there... to issue a complimentary bill without charge. Nevertheless, if I could give zero... that would be my rating. So far, I'm very happy with T-Mobil service and price plans... Verizon need to stop thinking that they are the 'best' ... because eventually just like American Express thinking Costco won't drop them... customers will leave due to high cost & really bad customer service. In addition, before switching... my wife had called Verizon customer service several times... we even went into their stores... I'm surprised they (corporate) had no motivation to retain their customers with competitive pricing or 'deals...' Of course no Verizon is great unless the person you're dealing with is. Once again I have to give kudos to Julio. He used to be in the Burbank location but moved to Pasadena and I had to follow him. And so we did. My daughter wanted to upgrade her phone and to the IPhone 7 and we ended up getting the IPad Pro and the Pencil for my mom and the Go Pro for my hubby. They had a good Christmas. But none of it would have happened had we not had Julio. He's very knowledgeable and patient and explains everything and answers all your questions. You just can't go wrong with him. They never pick up the phone when you call, which routes you to the equally useless Verizon automated national call center. And when you miraculously get through, they aren't helpful at all (i.e., not knowing details on phone availabilities). If you can spare the time and resources go to another corporate location that actually has its stuff together and seems to care about decent service, like the one in San Dimas. read more

I walk in the store more than five minutes with no one willing to help ... was the worst service experience trying to trade in my old Iphone to get the iPhone 6 , the process of buying the phone took 50 minutes, and was not in stock and on top of that , the store did not accept his offer of $ 200 for returning their old iPhone in working condition . Just wanted to give me $ 30 Now I 'm stuck in a two-year contract , because they are liars, and still waiting the iphone 6, is so disappointing because I've been a customer for six years, please never, ever go there. Been a Verizon customer for years. I've visited this store before, and have never been disappointed with the face to face service--I have no opinion on their phone service centers. As an example, my mother had purchased an iPad, but passed on getting a screen protector. Apple employees told us they do not sell or install screen protectors, and to go to another vendor. Having just upgraded my phone and getting a protector put on my own phone, I called and asked about them having the item--I was assured they had it, and would install it no problem. Came by the next day, and they took care of me within 30 minutes even though the store was packed. 10/10 would use again. read more

If there was a negative star rating, I'd use it. This store used to be a gem run by a fantastic manager. But that was three years ago and obviously she has moved on. Too bad. This is the worst run store I've ever been in. Staff have no energy and couldn't be bothered to help you, or to tell you the truth about anything. I bought a new phone a month ago and am still being harassed with phone calls about turning in my old phone - which I am not required to do, according to Verizon corporate. And the amounts that I'm being told I will be charged range from $20-$100, depending on who is calling and the day of the week. This is a review of verizon in general, not the store on Lake. Be aware that when you switch to a different carrier, it seems, even though the phone is unlocked, that verizon does something so that the phone does not work on the new carrier. When you import your number to the new carrier, don't make the mistake of letting verizon know. I switched and everything worked fine until i let them know that i was canceling service. Verizon is expensive without any evidence of better network that they always advertise. Cutthroat pricing, data overages, and then they make it hard to use the phone you have bought on other networks even though it is fully paid off. read more

I went to this store on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. I was checked in rather quickly when I first arrived, but then had to wait for an employee to help me with my question about getting a new phone. The lady that helped me (I didn't get her name) was very helpful and I found out I could get a free phone (with a $30 upgrade fee) if I purchased the new phone online. I have had some bad luck with the phone I upgraded to in December which has led to my having to visit this Lake Street branch more in the last month than I had in the previous two years. I have nothing but good things to say about the help I've received. I have not felt hurried. Each employee I've dealt with has been pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful no matter how long it took. Twice, in response to a special request I made, management personnel were consulted. In both cases the result was all I could have asked for. I know I'm sounding like a corporate shill here, but in both my dealings with Verizon at this office and also on the phone with customer service, I've been very pleasantly surprised with the lengths to which Verizon has gone to keep me as a satisfied customer. This review may run contrary to other customers' legitimate complaints but my experience has been very positive and certainly warranted this praise. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Cindy Medina who was professional, knowledgeable and kind in helping me navigate changing my wireless service and ordering a new phone. In February of this year I purchased two new I phones from Verizon on Lake street. The worse decision I ever made. I was told by the sales rep. That the car charger, speakers, protective cases were FREE with the purchase of the phones. That is a lie, I was charged $384 for the accessories. I tried to return the items to the store, was told by the sales rep and the store manager that they couldn't accept the items because it was over two weeks. Went home called customer service to cancel my service and was told by the representative that she would help me with my problem. What a load of crap that was. After 2 months, speaking to Verizon reps over 10 times, wasting over 17 hours repeating my situation, being told by the reps tthat a credit has been on issued on May 8th (was sent a text to confirm) talk to a rep on May 18,she said she would fix the problem (nothing happened) On May 20 had to call Verizon again because no credit had been issued. On May 21 had to call again because no credit had been issued, had to call again on May 22 because only a partial credit had been issued. This has to be the worse service I've ever encountered. They don't try to help or they tell you one thing and then ignore you. Regarding the store it's a scam regarding the accessories that are free. I Will never return to that store they are the worst ever, customer service is non existent and I would go to another carrier. They don't deserve one star! read more

Best service and products in the area! My husband and I tried to upgrade our iPhones at the Alhambra verizon wireless retailer and were unable to get proper assistance there. So we went to the Pasadena Verizon wireless store and were delighted to find friendly, helpful employees who were knowledgeable about their products and efficient in getting the upgraded phones and contracts. I don't think these employees enjoy their job. Walked in before 6 pm tonight. There were one person ahead of me per the guy to took down my name. I see other people checked in after me and were called. I inquired regarding my queue. He says my name was not on the list and asked me who checked me in. During the 30 minute wait, I see these employees with their pads talking in the corner giggling at times. I see them walking a lot and talking to each other without helping waiting customers. I hear one employees ask if he can go to dinner. All the customers sitting and waiting can hear their conversations and we are looking at each other thinking wtf? So unprofessional. When it was my turn, I wanted to get the advertised plan of 4 lines for $160. She told me my current plan is good and I should not change. I brought my current bill and asked her to itemized and compare the plans. Looks like I save $23 a month if I switch. Good thing I proceeded the switch and not listen to her initial advice. I feel she didn't want to spend the time to get a better deal for me. If you are the manager reading this, you need your employees to take a course on customer services. Came in on 1/20/15 because I wanted to cancel my contract that I had just opened on 1/15/15 (we were misinformed by A LOT of verizon associates about the contract). I was advised by verizon corporate to go to a direct store to cancel it since I had ordered a device with it. Got there and was helped out by a gentlemen named Donelle. Told him our situation and he said that we can't return it at the store since we opened the account online. Gave us some bull crap explanation of how the device came from online and not from a direct store, then if the store take the device back they will have "negative inventory" then he proceeded to give us some numbers to call. I thought it was strange because what is the point of having a store?? so we left and after we got home we called corporate, talked to a gentleman named Brandon and he basically told us that the associate at the verizon store was WRONG and he have never heard of a NEGATIVE INVENTORY. Then, he contacted the store and told us that we CAN return it at the store. At this point, we were so frustrated and just wanted to end this contract. Went back to the store and the manager there helped us out. But not once did he apologized for our inconvenience and with all the trouble they've caused us we still had to pay the $35 restocking fees. He even tried to say "oh because sometimes we can't access the online account" smh. I just told him that we are not coming back cancel our contract. Overall, people at this store have no idea what they are doing. If they tell you that they can't do what you are asking, make sure to stay at the store and call corporate to confirm before leaving. The Manager "Peter" is ethically challenged. After waiting in line for over 4 hours to buy a new iPhone 6+, and being told by Peter the manager that they still had phones in stock, we were told by customers who were leaving the store that they were out - yet he continued to tell the line that they still had the phones. Finally, one of the guys who had been waiting with us for the four hours reached the front of the line and entered the store. He came out five minutes later fuming mad. We had been lied to. Apparently, Verizon thinks it's okay to waste customers' time in the hopes that they can switch you to another phone (iPhone 6 in this case) or get you to order the 6+ from them so that they can get the credit, commission and/or hit their numbers. If I wanted to wait until October for the phone, I would have ordered it online and not waste time in line for 4 hours. Very shaddy, Verizon. My first time dealing with this place will hopefully be the last. I entered the store and there was no one available to help me. I had no idea that I should "register" to get assistance as I am used to standing in line for assistance...there was no line to stand in nor was there any written instruction to register. After about 10 minutes an employee in the middle of helping a customer told me that I need to register and pointed another employee out with whom I should register. The employee was busy with another customer and I could NEVER get his attention to register. After standing in the middle of the store at least another 5 minutes trying to catch someone's eye and hopefully get assistance, another employee approached me and asked what I needed. I advised I just purchased 2 phones and needed cases (there were numerous cases on the wall display however I could not see where any would fit my phone). He said ok and walked off...left me standing in the same place unassisted...as he greeted another customer who had just walked in the door. After he helped another customer I was ready to blow up. He finally made his way over to me to ask what type of phones I'd purchased. I showed him the phone and he again asked what type. I had no idea of the name so my son went to the display to get the name and the employee walked off again!! By this time I was ready to spit fire. The man, after obviously seeing my frustration, came back over and handed me 2 of the worst phone cases I have ever seen (rubber that wraps around the edges of the phone) and says this is all we have. I was outdone. Turned around and left the store. Now, I switched carriers and purchased my phones at Best Buy and was referred to Verizon for cases that Best Buy does not carry. I was told that the Verizon store employees work on commission so maybe I would just want to purchase phones with Best Buy and activate them with Verizon. It wS suggested that I may get a break on the cases if I paid them to activate the phones. I found it odd but decided to go to Verizon for the cases only. I have to assume commission is their only compensation because my purchase was not significant enough to be treated like a valued customer. After today's treatment I wouldn't give them one red cent of my money and I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone. read more
