Yesterday, I had an extremely disappointing experience with Verizon's customer service. I recently switched from T-Mobile to Verizon less than a month ago and purchased my cell phone online, which I picked up at the Rockville Center location. During the in-store pickup, I also bought three additional devices: two watches and another phone. One phone and one watch were shipped to my daughter, who attends school in Virginia. Shortly afterward, I learned about a promotional offer for an iPad, available within 30 days of purchase. I attempted to order the iPad online to be shipped to my daughter at her university. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the purchase, so my daughter placed the order herself online. Despite our efforts, the device never arrived after a week. Then, I was asked to upload my ID and a selfie for verification, which I promptly did. However, just hours later, all services for both phones and the watches were turned off--without any prior warning or explanation. When I called Verizon's 611 for help, I was redirected to the fraud department. When transferred, I couldn't proceed because my service was disabled. After waiting over an hour for a fraud representative, I finally reached an agent, provided all my verifiable information, and minutes later, the call was disconnected. No one called back, emailed, or provided any updates. In a desperate attempt to resolve the issue, I added my older child to the account so they could speak on my behalf. Despite this, 12 hours later, I remain without service, as does my daughter in Virginia, leaving her disconnected from home and vulnerable. This is unacceptable customer service. I have to drive 13 miles to the store just to plead for help. I can't contact Verizon directly due to the lack of service on my phone, which I rely on for work after hours. The inability to reach the fraud department except by calling is highly problematic. Interestingly Verizon responded to my review by saying they would look into it. It's been weeks now and nobody bothered to contact me so how are they looking into it???? NEVER believe their promotions!! They lie. They don't help you and Verizon wireless so t help you. They are the only carrier I've been using for years but I'm fine with them. The RVC store screws everything up, dies not honor appointments or promotions. Check your bills from them too. Verizon wireless won't help you either. Just have to add to my previous review. After the person helping me walked out, the manager said - "he felt I didn't appreciate his help enough." Then I was handed packaging to mail the phone I was trading in. The manager said, "just run across the street and give it to UPS." When I got to UPS I was told, "the mailing label was for FED-EX." read more

Verizon Fiber installation: For a company based in communications Verizon was not interested in communicating with me. Verizon just wants to send a tech out to punch holes in your house near to where you want a modem and where there is power to plug in an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to and hang a cable on the nearest pole. - no concern about wall finish, insulation, exterior wall siding ... except for caulking holes. I had an underground copper line and did not have a mast to run a cable from. My modem location was not near the comm entry point. I spent hours calling and emailing to get next to no information. The results of my installation experience: - I had to do all my planning with the first tech who came out to find out what work needed to be done. - I prepared (3) 1/2" holes thru my masonry walls with 1/2" copper pipe grouted in. 1 hole for power to the ONT, 1 hole to run the ethernet to the modem, and one extra hole in case sometime in the future a television service is wanted. - I prepared an outlet in my crawl space within 6 foot reach of the ONT on the outside of the house. - I located the ONT mounting location so brick was not drilled. - I prepared a pull box in my office to pull cable up from the crawl space into my office, used 1/2" vinyl tube as conduit, otherwise a hole would have been punched in the floor. The initial installation was temporary with the cable from the pole laying on the ground. - I had to do all the work required in the crawl space to pull the cable because the tech did not want to get dirty. -- This included the power transformer mounted inside the house that plugged into power and then run the wire out to the ONT. The second phase was to under ground the cable. - For this it was necessary for me to dig holes to access the open ends of conduit already in the ground. Verizon does not dig. - The Verizon Techs came plugged in a different underground rated cable and ran a length to the pole and plugged into the temporary cable. - All they do to put cable in the ground is to punch a slice into the ground with a spade and push the cable into it. It is not so deep as to be below any landscaping that might occur. I chalked the ground for the install to follow so I knew where it was in the future. The third phase was to connect the permanent cable to the box on the pole. - The tech comes out runs the underground install cable up the pole to find it is TOO SHORT to reach the box location. - Now there is a junction box and a coil of cable mounted to pole where the too short cable is terminated. Through the whole process Verizon personnel told me: - we do this all the time - we are skilled contractors - we do it right They have no clue what a good job is except to plug it in and start billing, which is good for them but not for my property. ... If I did not fight for information and was not standing over the majority of the work it would have been a crap shoot as to how it would have ended up. read more

The people that work here are rude and inconsiderate. I was waiting for the store to open up and decided to have a cup of coffee at the breakfast place a few doors down. While I was sitting at the counter, a verzion employee walked in, I asked her what time they would be open and she said " it says it on the door, didn't you see". So much for conversation. She proceeded to place her order, grits with cheese and sausage, and a juice or something else I believe . The girl behind the counter placed put her order in. When it came time to pay, the verzion employee was baffled at the total. She proceeded to yell at the employees saying " this is not what I wanted ". Girl, that's what you ordered. Her behavior was disgusting. If a mistake was made it could have been handled correctly. I went into verzion once they opened, and to my surprise ( not really, I was praying I wouldn't see her there ) I get the same girl that had a hissy fit over $3. She was rude again, wasn't helpful, and found it more interesting to have a conversation with her co workers about some club then help me. This particular location has switched out employees so often, maybe they should look into who they hire to begin with. read more

had to get a new phone on new years day. I was sold a tablet and a phone for what was supposed to be cheaper than just a new phone price. Just getting the bill now. Seems not only did they screw that up they started charging me for a smart phone that we don't own as well as disconnecting my grandmother's phone that she has for emergency without telling us. Everything I was told that day was a lie and had to spend hours on the phone trying to fix it. Which it still is not fixed The plan that was supposed to be better and cheaper was worse and more expensive. read more

I went to this store after having a negative experience At another Verizon store. I came in rather late, but that did not stop the Staff from giving me excellent service. The solutions team did an excellent job of helping me find the right phone, after the previous store I dealt With sold me garbage. I would say this store is Very efficiently run and big on customer service. read more

Worst store and worst experience ever, even the sales manager there was incompetent, John Walker I believe his name was. Seemed to be focused on other things and people vs. helping me out. I think the staff must be writing the 5 star reviews, if I could give minus score I would. I have been in the place many times and every time the service has been HORRIBLE. The wait is long and then you usually get an attitude served along with lack of manners in general. I went recently to get a new phone. I sat with only one other customer with our names on a list for at least 20 minutes. There were 2 guys who were actually working and four in the back chatting, laughing and talking about their dates, lunch and assorted other personal details. The woman who appeared to be the manager was one of them. Then, four or five people walked in at the same time and she got the people out of the back and told them to take care of customers. She had the nerve to ask one of the two that were working the entire time, how much longer he was going to take even though his customer clearly was buying several items. I had the misfortune of getting her to "help" me. She was not happy, never made eye contact, kept walking away without saying anything and was generally rude. If it was not for Verizon coverage I would switch. I left, I got to frustrated and did not want become as rude as her so I left. I strongly dislike this store and have never had a good experience(been here 5 or 6 times) and a have never waited less than 20-30 minutes for questionable support. Why does Verizon hire such rude people and then not monitor the goings on of these stores. I wish there was another alternative, I would definitely change carriers. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. The worst customer service ever. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. The woman "helping" us, Sunal, was on her personal phone texting the entire time and it was very obvious she was annoyed we were interrupting her personal life. She was completely unhelpful and extremely rude. The other woman we dealt with, Yolanda, was also extremely disgusted we asked for assistance. At one point Sunal walked over to ask her a question about one of the phones and Yolanda became visibly frustrated someone was asking her to do work. We were the only people in the store for a large amount of our time there and we had to go out of our way to get help and ask questions about new phones. We walked into this store ready to buy a new phone and walked out considering switching providers. Someone at Verizon needs to do something about this location. They are costing you money. read more

Bought an $800 phone + case + screen protector. Case broke next day. Screen protector was installed by an associate which had a lot of bubbles. Was told they will go away in few days. Manager said it was a courtesy that it was installed in a first place and it will not be replaced - you just lost a customer over a $10 plastic screen protector and 10 min of your time to properly install it which should have been done in the first place. Do your self a favor and go to another store - plenty of options around. read more

Had such a great experience when I came in a few weeks ago with my friend for a new phone. Larry helped me backup my old phone and walked me through the process of setting up the new phone (no easy feat since I'm the least tech savvy person you could meet). He also took a look at the plan I was on and suggested updating it to something that would better suit my needs and save me a few bucks in the process. Usually having to spend a Sunday afternoon at a phone store isn't high up on my list but Larry and the rest of the staff made it a pleasant experience. I don't live in/near RVC and only went to this Verizon location because I was in the area and desperately needed to get a new phone but based on the amazing service I'd make the trek out there for any future wireless needs! read more

I dropped my iPhone down a flight of concrete stairs. FML! I needed to replace the smashed one pronto and being I had a contract and was ready for an upgrade, I was set! Shipped to the Verizon store in RVC. Simple and easy right?! My mom picked up the phone and I tried setting it up on a Friday night. Couldn't figure it out so I was like, lemme just go to the Verizon store in the AM and they will help me. I figured since the iPhone was delivered to this particular location, I wouldn't have a prob. WRONG! I couldn't get the phone to connect to my existing phone number. I went to the location only to be told "there's nothing I can do for you since you didn't buy the phone here." I was like WTF? The sales person who did "help" (if you want to call it that,) said all I'd have to do was take the sim out of my old, smashed phone, and transfer it to the new one. I had no idea how to do this and asked if she could assist me. She semi-rolled her eyes and wasn't happy she may wreck her manicure trying to pop the sim out. I thanked her and walked out. Went home and nope...phone still isn't working. I called the store and after 7,500 press this, press that, explain your issue, I was told just call Verizon. I was furious. I will never deal with this shop again and based on the reviews, I agree. This place is a joke. Worst customer service ever. read more

Don't trust the reps or manager at this store. Go to a different Verizon store to purchase a new phone. I was sold a bundled package and quoted $140 for a phone case, charger and portable charger as part of a package deal in addition to my new XR phone. He said I would be saving money and would also waive the $30 upgrade fee. Let's start with the complete b.s. upgrade fee... how do you let a long time customer walk into your store to buy a very expensive phone and say you are waiving a $30 fee to make it seem like they are doing you a favor? What company puts a policy in place but tells the managers you have the ability to wave it? It's a slap in the face to even mention it when someone is buying a $750 phone. But what really bothered me is the integrity of the rep and manager who over sold me - and on the 15th day of trying to return something (I thought I had 30 days and the weather was unbelievably cold during those two weeks not too mention I work in the city) and then say sorry we can't do it. ATTN STORE MANAGER: #1 - have your reps know what the pricing is. Don't tell someone they are getting a bundled package for $140 and then change it later to $170 after they charged your credit card. #2 Charging $50 for a phone case that probably cost less than $1 to make in China is a crime #3 - when a customer tries to return something on day 15 and they tell you they felt something isn't right and felt oversold - don't tell them too bad you had 14 days. AND finally, tell your corp office that the $30 upgrade fee is disgusting for long-time customers. THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE BUSINESS. I can't speak for the other Verizon stores in the area but the Rockville Center store is a disgrace and so is the manager. read more

Came here to make monthly payments on 3 pre-paid cell phones on this store's payment kiosk. The kiosk did not print any receipts for all three phones despite selecting the 'Print Receipt' button on the screen. [I was here last month and receipts were successfully printed.] I waited 8 minutes before someone could help us. This person says there is paper in the kiosk and he will ask someone else to help us. After 15 minutes, another gentlemen offers help but he did not know how to print a receipt from his tablet. He asked me to wait. The third person was able to generate a receipt but the receipt did not show the phone number for which the payment was made - the receipt in the kiosk shows this. This employee says I should have requested the kiosk to print the receipt. I informed him that I tried but the kiosk was not able to perform this function. This employee appeared to be annoyed by my response - instead of being sympathetic. After thirty five minutes in the store, the store staff could not generate a receipt showing identical information as the kiosk receipt. Customer service is terrible. read more

Disorganized, rude staff. They clearly have no understanding how waiting in line works. The average time per customer is too high; I was there 30 minutes and no one had finished in that time. I never have taken the time to feel compelled to write a review but that quickly changed when I had a negative experience recently at this Verizon store. I work in healthcare and thrive off the customer service that I have to provide on a daily basis and was appalled about how rude I was treated at this store. Out of the 10 or so associates there, only 2 had a pleasant demeanor and were helpful. The others were RUDE, arrogant and gave off such a negative vibe like they had better things to do then actually do their job which is to HELP the customers!! Don't bring your troubles and attitudes to work! Sad to say that I can't even go to my own Verizon in my town due to such poor customer service I received!! read more

I have to agree with the negative reviews!!! I got an iPhone 6 that I needed to activate and transfer my pictures from my iPhone 5. I understand it was after the holiday and the weekend, I get that. I asked the worker that answered the phone about the how long the wait was AND about transferring pictures over. He told me it would take an hour or so to transfer pictures and that there was a 45 minute wait. Once I heard this I started to delete pictures off my phone and I left about 100 on. I called the next day which was a Sunday and was told once again there was about a 45 minute wait AND they can't transfer pictures over. I said to the worker, REALLY? yesterday I was told that wouldn't be a problem and today it's a problem? Needless to say the worker was at a loss for words when I called him out on it and that's when I decided to call the Lynbrook store and go to them. There was no wait AND believe it or not they were able to transfer my pictures onto my new phone! I was in and out of that store in 20 minutes! It doesn't get any better than that! Don't waste your time dealing with people that don't want to work, go to the Lynbrook store! read more

There is no negative number low enough to reflect the abysmal customer service consistently provided by Verizon throughout the years I've been a slave to their admittedly superior phone service. Tonight's nightmare included 4 hours on the phone with 6 different reps, none of whom had a grasp of what had gone on before they got involved. Each one was ruder, more dismissive and less helpful than the one before. None of the things they said would happen e.g. "just confirm the change on the email I'm sending" was true. None of them could solve the problem and they all just dumped me off on someone of equal or greater incompetence. It all culminated with me calling the "direct line" provided for further support which ended up being a general service line and the necessary department was closed despite the previous rep telling me specifically that they'd be available at the time I called. I've been a Verizon customer for at least ten years but enough is enough. I'm switching and you should too. read more

Do not trust the workers here. Set up a new line on my account and chose to pick up the phone in store. Arrived 1.5 hours after I was told the phone would be ready. The store workers told me the new phone number I was given was already being used by another customer. This is IMPOSSIBLE according to the reps over the phone. Would not give me the phone until I canceled that order and placed a reorder with a new phone number. This was apparently just to receive a commission. Then the new phone was supposed to be 100% free, however when I called up to confirm everything was done correctly I was told I would pay $5 per month. The rep over the phone fixed everything, I hope. Just have your orders delivered to your home. Forget this store. read more

Terrible service from uninformed associates who rather brush you off than give you quality service. If you want to wait a long time, be lied to, and enjoy the worst service ever....come here! I purchased a phone and was informed it would be shipped to me within a few days, and that I would received order confirmation and tracking information via email before hand. When I didn't receive them I called the store - no answer(despite it being 6pm) so I called Verizons normal customer service number. It was very clear to the agent on the phone that the store had messed up, and she did all that she could but told me I had to call the store or go in person. I called the store the next day and the associate I spoke to me told me they were busy but I requested a call back. They did not bother to call me back at all - despite handing me their card previously and telling me that I could call them if I had an issue. Finally I went into the store to get help - they refused to let me talk and tell them the issue I was having, instead they kept brushing me off before an associate finally went into the back and came out and told me that it was on backorder for the next month. He told me I could look up my order information online. When I went home I tried to look up my info online and couldn't, so I called customer service. and here is the TWIST - my phone wasn't on back order. Verizon is having an issue with orders disappearing - this happened to my order. The associate at the store didn't even bother to look up my order to see if this was the issue. Instead he lied to my face and had I believed him I would have never gotten my phone. Thankfully the verizon customer service reps on the phone cleared up the whole manner after 90mins. Aside from this terrible experience I generally find the wait here is long and I would recommend people avoid this location. read more

The store is very crowded on the weekend and the customer service agents working in their make the experience as miserable as possible. Not only do they move slower than a slug but I witnessed three of them have no idea why they were doing and call the manager over "Fara" who also wasn't sure how to apply a discount to a customers order. After waiting an hour in the store they then told us that We would have to wait another 20 minutes in order to complete the purchase. Do not go to this store. They sell defective products and don't care about anyone. Like many of the other absolute negative reviews - I will add mine to the list and make sure everyone knows how horrible their service is. Less than 2 weeks ago, we went to the store and was talked into getting a Samsung s6 which was cheaper that the iPhone that we originally came for. Anyway, since it was cheaper (what a mistake) we decided to give it a shot and they told that we can return for an exchange if we don't like it (never ever did they say that its a 14 days return - no exchange policy). We got the phone and they of-course forgot to put the charger in the box. The Samsung phone is apparently defective and does not hold the charge. if you google Samsung s6 battery depletion or battery issues you will see all the horrible results. none of this was ever explained nor disclosed. I got fed up with the phone and went back to the store for what i thought was a simple exchange to the iPhone 6 plus that i originally wanted to was willing to pay the difference. they took me to the side more to the back - i assumed to do the exchange. this guy came back with an iPhone box scribbled in magic marker 6 plus (lol). So they proceeded to check my account. so i tried explaining why i was returning - they lady behind the counter didn't seemed like she cared and didn't responded to anything i was saying. no problem, then i this guy came in and he said "o, your outside of the return policy." really. "o yea, you were supposed to return on 9/5". he proceeded to show me a receipt. i immediately felt like they were about to give me a major screw over. which is what exactly happened. they guy didn't care about anything. he had zero solution and was cold as they come. i was upset and i said" why would you guys knowingly sell a defective product and didn't thoroughly explain the return policy - and worst yet don't even allow me to exchange." bottom line - don't waste your time nor money at this Verizon store in rockville center - nothing but aggravation and they are worst as they come in the cell phone sector. they knowing sell defective or inferior products and stuck with some ridiculous return policy. Absolutely stay away. 9/8 - Update So I called VZ customer care division and spoke to Sara - She explained that the Lawrence "Larry" did not handle the situation correctly and she will be sending the "365" complaint for that store. However, she clearly laid out some options to return the phone which was sadly missed by the VZ store in RVC. We live IN USA, and understand that the customer is always right. Here are some quick tips as to how not to aggravate a customer. 1. Don't sell defective or known phones with defective issues. 2. Clearly explain that return and refund policy. 3. Don't take it personal and then have everyone gang up the unsuspecting customer. 4. Listen and offer solutions. Don't wonder why your store keeps getting negative feedbacks - Just do the right thing. read more

Just wanted to say thanks for the lovely text you sent me thanking us for our visit after misleading my mother into leasing 3 Samsung Galaxy S7's. You knew damn well that all 3 of our phones were eligible for our 2 yr upgrades. You also knew that my mother was aware of the total price of said upgrades so you added in "free accessories" (that she paid for in full by the way!) to compensate for the price difference of the leases making it resemble the total she originally came in knowing, clever trick (quite the salesmen you are huh? I'm looking at you too Guillermo!) I haven't personally, but I'll make sure no one I know will ever do business here again after my mothers deplorable experience. It's a pity there's no assistance/oversight on these sort of issues, this is horrible business practice Verizon. Shame on you all! read more

I live in RVC like to frequent the local establishments.....except Verizon. I have never, ever had a positive experience here. EVER. No customer service and the information provided is usually wrong. Even this week. I asked about transferring a SIM card and the instructions were totally incorrect and delivered in a non-customer focused way. Couldn't be bothered, barely looked at me and the subsequent eye roll, like I was bothering them at work, was just incredible. Even when I tried to buy a new phone, drop $$$, and they could not be bothered. It has been like this for years. I guess the manager and the company do not care or something would have been done ages ago. Never go there again....there are other Verizon stores that are much better managed and actually offer a solid customer experience. read more

Do not under any circumstances go to this store for any of your wireless needs. Customer service is non existent and no one knows how to help. The manager did nothing except try to sell us a feature which we did not need. He did not intervene when no one was able to program our phones. The excuses for not being able to help us were endless, in the end we called Apple and they helped us do in 20 minutes what no one in this store could do in 4 hours. The entire staff needs training or needs to be replaced with people who want to help and CARE. read more
