My old phone's firmware got messed up and Verizon sent a replacement phone under warranty. Verizon's online tech staff were unable to help port data from the old phone to the new one (that's after making me wait on hold for HOURS). In desperation, I took phones into this store for help, and Timothy fixed me right up. Victra Verizon in Steamboat is awful. Was fine when it was solely the Verizon store years ago with knowledgeable and helpful staff meeting the needs of customers. Now the staff are young and clueless. Not at all helpful. They either do not help at all or push to sell you an upgrade when you just want to buy a new adapter. read more

This store does not have a good relationship with Verizon Corporate office. We had a phone ordered to be picked up at their store. Despite the phone and all the purchase detail being on our account; they refused to give us the phone. The reason they stated was Verizon Corp shipped it to them wrong and it wasn't in their system. Instead they said they could sell us the same model of phone but it would reduce our trade in from $830 to $415. All of this was blamed on the Verizon Corporate office. Having a bad relationship with Verizon will only end poorly for the customer. I would recommend working directly with Verizon and waiting the day or so to get a new phone shipped to your home and staying away from the toxic third party relationship. read more

Use to be great. Do not know what happened since I was there last. I don't know if there is new ownership in past 9 months. I went in and was told I had malware. Only 1 guy there and pretty much dis-interested in helping . Said I probably needed to go to big city for help. Assumed I was some second home owner in SS. Told me to see a guy next to the drug store. Did not even bother to tell me to put my phone in safe mode. He is right, I need to go to another town for help. Don't go here if you can avoid it. Said it was the same to upgrade a phone in the store as it was online. But there was an extra $39 fee for them to access your account and do anything that Verizon does not charge online. That's in addition to the Verizon fee of $35 that is also charged. When we called the rep complaining that they didn't mention this he said there was nothing they could do. This store is not run by Verizon. It's a completely different company. It shouldn't be branded as a Verizon store. read more

We damaged our phone on a bike ride, got a replacement mailed to us when we arrived in Steamboat. Found this Verizon store and I was up and running in about 15min!!!! I gave Tim Miller (Verizon guy) my new phone and he swapped things over in minutes. The beauty was ..... he was helping 2 other customers while jumping in to help me as well. I could have been there for an hour or more, but his "service mindset" got me out of there quickly!!! He was the only Verizon employee there ... it seemed like everyone knew him that entered the door!! Super guy ... would like 100 of "him" in my business!!! read more

Zero Stars. Terrible Service in Steamboat. This company sold a few years ago. The previous owner (My Wireless), offered one of the most consistent customer service experiences I have ever had. I went into GoWirleless, Central Park Location, several times in the first year they were open. I had consistently bad experiences. Yesterday, it was more convenient to go in there than to drive downtown. I went in there with a small problem - I needed my new phone switched from my son's number to mine. I thought "I will give them a try, maybe it's changed". Unfortunately, from the moment I walked in, I could FEEL the hostility. A few people waiting, the manager, Courtney, at the counter being horribly abrupt with the 2 people there before me. The woman in front of me was choosing a phone for her daughter's upcoming birthday. She was smiling and asking questions. Courtney never once smiled. Just answered questions, looking bored. As the woman was leaving, I smiled at her and said "that is a great birthday present!" The woman's face lit up and she replied "yes! And she's only 11!" (It was SO SIMPLE to engage and affirm her gift idea.) It would have been so simple for the rude manager to do this, but she didn't. I walked up to the counter, she made no eye contact. Looking at a screen, asked what I needed. (wow...bad start) I ignored her behavior and smiled and explained I used my son's upgrade and just needed help changing it to my number. I said he's at college, and I'm worried if I do this without help, I might turn off his phone. I just wanted to be sure I did it right. She never looked at me during the explanation. Finally, she glared and said she couldn't do it. Rolled her eyes, looked disgusted, as I explained an online Verizon person said it was very easy - and had instructed me to stop by a Verizon store and it could be done in 5 minutes. She literally "snarled" at me, and said "Fine, I can do it, it's a $20 fee." Now, I understand that I did not buy the phone from her store THAT day, but she had NO idea where I bought it. They have TWO locations in town. I understand service fees need to apply sometimes, and that local stores are frustrated with Verizon selling direct to customers. I understand local stores need to make money. But her attitude and lack of willingness to even LISTEN to my story, let alone help me? THIS does not grow your business. She never engaged me. Never asked where I purchased the phone. Never showed any desire to provide service. It was not the ACT of charging $20 that offended me. It was the hideous customer service I witnessed prior to my engagement with her. It was her terrible body language. It was her obvious distaste in having to listen to me. I was so shocked. Steamboat is a very small town. I have only written one other bad review here since joining yelp years ago. This woman should not be working in customer service, and she certainly shouldn't be managing a team. I noticed another negative review this year for this location, and the person said "the manager was not helpful and took no responsibility..." I highly recommend you purchase your products online from Verizon, and call them when you need help. I called Verizon today - it took them 4 minutes to help me, and the gentleman was so pleasant. What a stark difference I experienced between those two experiences, and what a memorable negative impression Courtney made on me. I will never go in that store again. read more

Just wanted to drop a line to say what a great job manager Tim did while working on our upgrades today! After waiting for a month or so for our order of the new Note 9's for me & my GF to come in, we were excited they arrived earlier than expected. Tim spent most of the afternoon today working hard to get our new phones activated, and ran into a number of time consuming issues he had to solve. In addition to helping me with our new phones he was also able to simultaneously help a number of other customers all while maintaining a cool & friendly attitude in what I'm sure must have been a frustrating situation for him. So happy to see a new store manager here. Tim was excellent! I've never had an easier experience upgrading my phone. My husband and I were both dreading going in because it is always such a hassle. Tim was the only one there, but he brought the customer service. He got us the phones we wanted, he switched them over for us with GoAdvantage. The salesperson lied to me about the terms and conditions of trying out a hotspot. He told me if I returned it in 2 weeks I would owe for nothing. Ended up paying over $100 in restocking fee and data charges. Store manager was not helpful and took no responsibility for her staff's misleading sale. Absolutely the best Verizon store we have ever been in. Courtney Sommers, the manager, is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and very patient. Everytime we have been in she has answered our questions very respectfully. They have enough clerks that we have never had to wait to get questions answered. This is the most amazing for rising store I have ever had the pleasure of using. Kevin was absolutely wonderful in every way. He made sure that content and files transferred to the new phone and that my phone was as closely set up as possible to my old phone. His attentiveness and training made it so much easier for someone who has had a stroke and has limited ability. There have been other times in the past where we have driven from other towns where there have been Verizon stores in order to come to this particular one in Steamboat Springs. Their service is astounding and they make sure that they can find the best phone to meet your needs at the best price. Every time I go to this store I say that the service person was better than the last one and it continues like that every time I come back to the store, but, Kevin was the best ever. He even followed up with me by phone the next day to make sure I was not having any problems. I am a customer for life! read more

I have been sitting here for 40 minutes as I write this review. 25 minutes ago, I was told the manager was going to be here in 5 minutes to help me. He walks in. Does not acknowledge our presence. A customer he was previously helping then walks in and he continues helping her which I completely understand. The manager continues to avoid eye contact with all the waiting patrons. Refusing to simply tell them that "he will be right with them." This took me a few minutes to write and I am still sitting here unacknowledged. Some of the worst service I have ever seen. I was at the same store yesterday and Mandy was responsive and handling multiple customers at once. She should be the manager...not the guy that is avoiding eye contact with me right now. Finally was spoken to rudely and informed that they were closing soon so we better explain our situation. He referred us to a 1800 number for our issue since he had little authority to help.
