Went in looking for a screen protector replacement & wanting Verizon to replace/apply a new one. They did not have one available. I asked about what I would have to do to get that done. I thought it was part of the protection plan & pointed out that I went to that location specifically due to it being a corporate store, as opposed to a TCC location. One man (black) was confrontational, making a demand that I show him where I was reading that information online. His counterpart, a white guy, simply said that I could buy one from Verizon.com, bring it to their store & that they'd replace it. The black guy spoke up again, in which I said (paraphrase) "hold on, I'm talking to him now", & the black guy pulled "the racist card", & I called him out on that. I then demanded to speak with the manager, in which the black guy became more confrontational. Eventually, the manager (a black woman) came out and asked me to tell her about the problem. As I was speaking to her, the black guy interrupted & made a demand that I "tell the whole story", in which I was. (With all due respect, he needed to see his way out of that conversation, & allow me to speak with the manager) He became more confrontational and referred to me as "boy" in a statement of "listen here, boy". I looked right at him and said "who the f*** are you calling boy". The manager spoke up, saying that she wasn't comfortable with confrontation & said she wanted to de-escalate the employee & situation, & asked that I step outside while she does so. I agreed. She came out later & apologized, stating that he would be escalated to HR, provided me a number, & said to expect a call. I have escalated this incident to corporate & filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. With respect, although the 2 guys involved have different skin colors, 1 used "active listening" and got me to a "yes answer" while the other remained confrontational, blamed it on racism, and then proceeded to refer to me as "boy". I went to a different location & got my screen protector replaced. While speaking with an associate there in regards to the issue at the Apalachee location, they stated that this store is known for being rude/mean-spirited at times... and I wholeheartedly agree at this point. I understand that "bad apples" exist, so I try not to blame Verizon as a whole, but from someone who worked for TeleperformanceUSA in a billing department, the "bad apple" at this store was certainly "out of line", & provided an inappropriate response to the wrong person. I hope that this gets addressed in an appropriate manner. Edit: In addition to this review, I would like to add that at one point in our "spat", another black man confronted the problematic employee by stepping up to him & pushing him back towards the office as though the employee was going to confront me "face-to-face". No response from anyone at this location regarding my service or the shortage on my refund. Received my replacement phone from corporate. Went to Best Buy and had their Verizon rep put on the new screen protector and it worked perfectly. Further proving that it was not my issue but a warped phone. Would highly recommend avoiding this store location. read more

I purchased a burner phone, as my retired FBI agent brother jokingly calls it. Yet, my budget and salary class calls them month to month no contract. Pay it--keep it. Don't pay it--lose it. I purchased a new phone and was having great difficulty activating it. I went in the closest store for assistance. The screen message stated that I had to. Despite the phone being purchased from an outside seller, the Verizon employees worked with me and my phone for over two hours, very near Christmas. I was humbled by their kind service. I was also most happy to watch them work kindly with and towards each other. They were true IT pros. The computers cannot think like humans. AI was the problem, the people fixed it for a person. Carlos the Governor was the best customer experience and service I've ever had . Answered over 50 or more questions I answered. Extremely Nice and helpful . If I could have waited to get my number ported till Carlos was in because the customer service I got 4/2/25 the next day around 6pm at the 4210 West Tennessee store needing a little help and was ignored and denied customer service number . Thankfully Carlos gave me his number I called him and he helped me in 15 mins over the phone . The service I received today I will never come back in unless I can see Carlos even if I have to book an appointment. He helped 1000% over and behind great customer service. I will be calling Carlos for any of my needs or help through Verizon . Carlos saved me from canceling my plan because that was terrible customer service I received on 4/2/25 . They locked you in this 3 yrs contract and they charge whatever they want. I will never sign up for any phone contacts. Buy your phone and find a good company and get a server. Anytime I have to walk into these stores I'm not happy. So sucks to be them. But I hate all these people that are trying to sell me crap but are no help when the crap fails. They have no additional information about the equipment and just want to me to a costly upgrade as a means to "solve" my issue. If I'm not interested in making a purchase, then they move you over to a long line. You wait for another ditzy face that has no clue how to help. Zero customer service. My mom is elderly and wanted to disconnect a line. She is not computer savvy so she thought to go into the store for help. Nope. They gave her a number to call instead. She was on hold for 35 minutes. And they still directed her to go online. They can sell and set up a line in store; seems to make sense to be able to disconnect. I don't have this issue with my AT&T-they helped me disconnect an extra line, no issue. Time to switch her over. read more

Seemed like the upgrade would be easy. Store rep said turn the phone on and follow direction. Well.....it's not that easy. We are a family of 5 with me being the account holder. My husband was upgrading his phone. The store knew this because he had to get me on the line to give authorization To the Verizon rep. They should have told him I needed to authorize the activation to, which they didn't. So when he attempted it several times it would not work. After an hour wait to get Verizon Tech support on the line they tried to activate and couldn't. Then disconnect and NEVER called back. All the while I was at the grocery thinking everything was fine. When I finally heard of the problems and called Verizon they said there had been to many activation attempts on that line and it was locked for 24 hours. NOTHING anyone anywhere could do. Ugh. Verizon train up your staff to pay attention to the details! Beyween going to pick up the phone at Verizon and trying to get it to work my husband lost an entire day of work and haa to go back at it with Verizon again tomorrow to hopefully get this phone working. Visited this store yesterday with a few questions. Was greeted by a saleswoman who cheerfully answered my questions (though several of her answers were rather unclear). Talked to her for about ten minutes. She then proceeded to inform me that to get any real help, I needed to sign in to the computer. Well, four other customers had walked in behind me while I was wasting time talking to her, so if I bothered to sign in it would have been another ten minutes of wasted time. Picked up my phones from this location on 5/21/20 to find that not only were they not able to be activated but one of them was actually registered to a different account. Went back to the store to get assistance was told by your "floor Manager" Diamond( arrogant, rude, unfriendly are the only words that come to mind) that they don't port numbers at the store and gave me a number to the port assistance. Once on the phone with them they advised me that the phone needed to be returned to the store because they cant port it because its already associated with another account. I placed the representative on speaker phone with Diamond which Diamond proceeded to tell the representative that they were wrong and that they don't need to issue a refund. She takes my box from me and goes inside and disappears for at least 15 mins and comes out to say we don't have that phone in stock are you going to ship it to her.... no apology for their mistake in the first place, for making me wait and then proceeds to state I need to pay a restocking fee.... and I need to go home and get the charger because they wont issue a return without it.... I was appalled at the lack of customer service , no apology, no compensation, no solution nothing. So I had to make 3 trips to the Verizon store for VERIZONS mistake and then be told that I NEED to pay a restocking phone for giving me a phone that was registered to a different account.... I returned the phones, have terminated my service, I have terminated the 18 line business account I had opened with them as well and will let my colleagues know as well not to conduct business with them. This is by far not the busiest verizon store I have ever been to, however they are extremely slow and seem not to be able to manage the customer flow. My experiencetoday was approximately 30 minutes of waiting although I was the second person in the store. The gentleman logging me in somehow lost my number after telling me I would be waited on first. I watched as several customers were waited on and then asked what was the problem. At this time, he re-entered my phone number and said I would be waited on next. Two customers later. I left this store without being helped. I will not be using this store again. read more

Suggestion: Call Verizon's customer service line instead! These folks are still a waste of your time. I received more help on my phone issues with their tech support line and customer service folks via their 800 number. Yes, I called customer service after visiting this store to complain about my bad service. These guys (ANTHONY) only want to SALE you a new phone -- not assist you with any current problems! I've been to this Verizon location twice. On both occasions my issues have been addressed politely, thoroughly and efficiently. I drive way across town to this location because I don't think much of the location on Monroe Street. I'm a devoted Verizon customer because of the number of times that I have had service when friends and family with other providers did not. read more

I've had to go in this store twice now, and both times I've had terrific service. George Goodson helped me on both occasions, once in March 2015 when I purchased two iPhone 5's, and in June 2015 when I purchased an iPhone 6 and added a line to my plan. On both occasions he was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, and helped confirm that I want to remain a Verizon customer. He also offered his phone number and help should we have trouble after the store visit. I did have to call him about something and he was just as friendly and helpful as he was in the store. read more
