If I could give no stars I would! Rude, Ignorant, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and not educated on equipment or service they sell. My husband and son have been with Verizon for two years, we went in this past Saturday to upgrade my son's phone and increase our plan by double. Added insurance, unlimited plan, new phone, case protection....the list goes on. The sales representative was very eager to keep selling plans and devices to us, increasing our bill by double than what we were currently paying. A day later my husband went in to ask for help with his phone and the customer sales team ignored him and told him they couldn't help him, they gave him an 800 number and sent him on his way. He decided to go to the apple store where they helped him within 10 minutes. Two days later we had to go in again because my husband needed to ask a question about restoring his phone and again the sales reps ignored him and gave him an 800 number to call..."Sorry sir, we can't help you". Just today my son cracked his screen...the new phone with the protective ($100) case was cracked. I ran over to the store it was 8:15pm and the store closed at 8pm. I stood at the door in the rain and asked if someone could just answer a question or two about how I use the insurance and make a claim for the phone's cracked screen. As I stood outside, one of the sales reps said..."Sorry, I can't help you we are closed you'll have to call customer service..." The store was still full of customers and when I raised my voice and expressed my unhappiness with the store and how they handle the customers with no support or guidance, the manager raced over and got in my face and told me that the store was closed. That they would be open at 10am the next day if I needed help and if that didn't work to call customer service! I immediately called customer service to report my experience. On the phone they apologized for the store and the behavior of the manager. They also explained that I should of been told about the claim website to register my phone. I was never explained anything, I was sold A TON but no one took the time to really explain all the new features I have added to my plan, and when I did need help or guidance they pushed me away and gave me a phone number. After 4 failed visits to the store for help and one horrible manager that left me with an insulting experience I am DONE! This all could of totally been avoided with better, more educated, thoughtful staff that really cared about what they did. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible - DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. I purchased a phone for my daughter for a present, paid cash for it and told them not to link it to the account. Even though I am the account holder, they sent a text to my daughter with the purchase receipt. The store manager couldn't have been ruder when I brought the complaint to their attention. They also couldn't figure out why it happened. One of the largest communication companies and they can't even manage their own communication. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have gone here quite a few times and regretted it every time. But its close to my work :-( they are so rude! Today was my last straw. I went in and was asking about switching my number off the account I was on and since I wasn't an authorized user he said he couldn't help me. I asked him about getting new lines all together on a new plan and he said he would not help me. He couldn't answer any questions that I had. even when they didn't have anything to do with the other account. I wanted to start new service and he wouldn't help me!! He lost business and good business! I drove out of my way to go to the Verizon in Bloomingdale and they helped me right away! I spent a good amount of money. and got all new service and new phones! Extremely unhappy with the performance of my Verizon phone!!!!!!!! I have had several issues with it and as I use the phone for business purposes it is totally unacceptable to have customers calls go straight to voicemail with no record of a missed call. This is a regular occurrence !!! I often have complaints of call quality from customers. After 3 phone replacements I am starting to suspect it may be the phone model?? I will say the employees have gone out of their way to accommodate me but that only goes so far with the time and potential customers I have lost. The store says they cannot give me another phone till I am eligible for an upgrade. As a side note the BLASTING music every time I go there makes me wonder who owns/manages this location. It is always rap/dance music which I understand taste may vary. However today was the LAST straw when the gangster rapper was screaming obscenities (Kill the Mother F'er) in this EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE song. There was several senior citizen couples in the store at the time and they voiced their concerns also!! Rather inappropriate atmosphere for children. GET A CLUE WHOEVER RUNS THIS STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand I am only one local small businessman with only two phones and you may not be too concerned with my issues but you have absolutely lost my business. read more

Went there to get my phone fixed or replaced after apple said I needed a new phone. The worker kept telling me she was going to help us and kept trying to do things on my phone. She eventually (2 hours later) completely locked me out of my phone. I couldn't get into it or call or text. Then she basically told us have a nice day and sent me on my way with a completely useless phone. read more

This is the second time I have had a significant issue with the service at this specific location. I went in to upgrade my device which took nearly 2 hours to do. I also purchased an IPad under the advertisement that I would save $100 off. When the purchase was completed, the $100 discount was only valid if I paid the entire amount up front which was not advertised, and also very deceptive. When I got home, my new phone was could not make or receive calls or text messages. I had to return to the store where the store manager did not even make an effort to apologize for the inconvenience. He fixed the phone and not even so much as have a nice night-nothing. Today, a package arrived from Verizon at my home. To my surprise, a complete duplicate of my transaction had been sent to me! A new iphone, and several accessories. I did not order anything to be sent to me and have no idea how this even happened. Now, I have to return to the store again, for the third time, to clear up this problem since I do not want to be financially responsible for a duplicate order. The employees clearly do not have adequate training in the current promotions, set up of products, or how to treat customers. I will be switching carriers the first chance I get. read more

my family and I have had Verizon for about 12 years and never have I been to a location that had such poor service. Their customer service is so poor and the workers are so rude I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The gentleman that helped me not only deleted 700 pictures off my phone but also "accidentally" took my insurance off my phone. I told the gentleman I want a new phone and all he said was I could get a refurbished one. I have always been iffy about refurbished phones due to the fact but there was one something wrong with them and they were fixed. I decided to take his word for it because I needed a phone for work and got the refurbished replacement. One month later my replacement refurbished phone stop working and I could no longer get a new phone. He said there was nothing he could do for me it was my fault that I was too cheap to pay for my insurance. When I asked to speak to the manager he said he was not available 15 minutes later the manager walked out of the office. needless to say I left very dissatisfied and very upset. I headed over 2 the Downers Grove store where the manager and other workers were very helpful. I not only found out that I did in fact have insurance but I did not need to get that refurbished phone before I should have been given a brand new one. I not only got a new phone but I also was set up with a Verizon cloud account so I would never lose my pictures again. Associates at the Downers Grove location so nice so friendly I wouldn't go anywhere else. my mom went 2 the Elmhurst location as well and gentleman there told her there was nothing he could do for her he wouldn't answer any of her questions and all she wanted was to get a charger replaced because hers broke. She still had a warranty on her charger and he still wanted her to pay $30 for a new one. He told her she was being rude and when she asked for the manager he quickly reached for his name tag and took it off. My mother and I got his name before he took it off and when she asked him what his name was he told her something different. She asked for the manager and as he was walking out of the office he to take off his name tag. This is by far the worst location I have ever been to with some of the worst customer service I have ever had. Downers Grove, Bloomingdale, LaGrange and even the kiosk in Yorktown mall have better service than Elmhurst. The workers at this location are rude lazy and refused to help anyone that requires a little bit of work. This review is about a particular store employee named Jasaun (I apologize if that's not the exact spelling, I couldn't quite remember his name). Let me start by saying I have been a Verizon customer for almost 10 years now and we ALWAYS pay our bill on time each month. I have always appreciated that Verizon's service is the best which is why we have stayed. Lately however, our bill has been out of control- $260-280 a month for just 10 G's of data. I decided to go into the store to have my bill broken down and understand why we were paying so much and if there was a better plan or cheaper options for us. Well Jasaun could not be bothered. He glances at my plan for about three seconds and said that's the best option and cheapest they can offer it. I asked specifically if there were any extras we were paying for (one millisecond glance down at his tablet) and he said no. I then went on to say in a very nice tone mind you, if we can't get the bill down we are going to have to switch carriers. He again repeated there was nothing he could do for me and let me walk out of the store with the notion I was going to take my 10 year loyalty somewhere else. I was so insulted! I immediately got home and called customer service, at the very least I was going to notify them of my treatment. Thankfully, Gabrielle was so wonderful and accommodating. She apologized profusely for my in store experience and was able to drop my bill (spoiler alert: there were extras on there) and get me an upgrade to both my plan and my phone. Needless to say I will not be visiting this store in Elmhurst or Jasaun again. read more

Ripped off for 649 dollars! My wife and I went in to finally upgrade to smartphones. Salesman Guillermo Reyes told us there is a Motorola buy one get one free offer on the Moto-Z .Guillermo promised me there is no hassle and there would be no problem and we would get a prepaid visa card in 8 weeks to pay off one phone with. So we bought 2 phones at 650 dollars each and upgraded our service. We filed our rebate online and 2 weeks later Verizon notified us that the offer is not valid, that the store was not authorized for this offer and we would not get the offer. Keep in mind this store had signs all over it advertising this offer. We dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. Guilermo is not returning calls and we are filing deceptive practice claims with the BBB and are looking into a civil claim as well. Stay clear of this store as they seem to take advantage of senior citizens. read more

You don't what to go here! Been a Verizon customer for over a decade. Went to get a new phone for my son. I was getting over being sick so my defenses were down. Sales person who did not know how to smile told me the contract price which was fine. Also said I would have to pay $100 for the Black Friday special which included a phone case, phone screen and add'l charger. What?!? Like a total idiot I did. The fact that he made it sound like it was not an option but a mandatory charge was very, very misleading. All this transpired while the store manager stood right next to us hearing the entire conversation. I plan on calling the store next business day to complain. read more

Stay away from this store. I wanted to add a line and update my phones and the first sales person I talked to had no idea of the plans and was completely rude and unhelpful. I was about to walk out of there and another sales person approached me and convinced me to sign up a 2 year contract. She assured me that by turning in my current iPhones, my charges would not exceed $300, but when I got my first bill it was more than $150 what she had told me. I have called customer service and they can't help me because the store never entered the credit for the phones. Fortunately I have the records, but I will have to pay the outrageous bill anyway and hope they can give me a refund. This is borderline fraudulent business practice. I wish I had walked out and gone somewhere else. I will definitely take my business somewhere else when my contract is up. I hope this review will save other people aggravation and money. read more

Went to the Verizon store to inquire about upgrades. After a very long wait, I explained what I was looking for so far as service and a new phone. The salesman said he was going to "run some numbers." I have had the "let me run some numbers" at car dealership that did not take this much time. He returned noting that I was a twenty year customer, and as such, had the following plans to offer. One offer included a "free" tablet, which I was not interested in. The second offer included road service. Road service.....for my car. Thanks, but no, I am looking for a phone, not auto coverage. Either plan would have more than doubled my current bill. Thinking we had a misunderstanding, I explained again what I was looking for. Nope, not possible, not available through Verizon. I went home, got on the Verizon website a got exactly what I wanted. Don't go there. It is all a bait and switch, upgrade scheme. read more

Terrible service! Went into the store in the midst of a rainstorm, and walked in to ... nothing! No greeting, no acknowledgement, no eye contact ... absolutely nothing! There were about 4 to 5 associates each helping someone, but unlike any other store nobody even acknowledged my presence. There was one more person also standing near the door, and so stood and waited literally for about 15 minutes. My son got antsy and started walking around the store to look at the various phones and tablets, and one of the iPad security theft cords was faulty and sounded an alarm when my son touched the device. Thinking at least this will get someone's attention, I gravitated over there .. and literally the associate walked over, disarmed the device, and walked back - again no greeting, no smile. I finally asked the associate if there was a manager in the store, and her response was "he's over there", and she walked back to the customer she was serving. Finally just left the store - it was still raining, but definitely felt warmer outside then in the store. Was so upset that I called Customer Service, and thankfully the gentleman who took the call understood what happened and took my complaint and filed it to Corporate. Still amazed how a store can be this rude and inconsiderate .. yes, you guys are the largest wireless carrier and dont need to take much effort to get people, but the AT&T store in the same town was twice as busy and their manager took the time to smile, apologize for the wait, and ask if we were OK. read more

I went to this store after thanksgiving to buy a new phone. On Verizon.com it said I was eligible for a payment plan, so I was like well, that's better than paying the $800 or whatever upfront. When I arrived, they told me I could not do the payment plan, I was a little perturbed because with my current job, I could not afford the full price of the phone. So they spoke to a manager who told me I could get a discretion upgrade for $249.99 on a specific phone. I was happy with this and agreed to it. The sales person told me that because it was black Friday and I was purchasing a phone, that I could get the black Friday gifts which were a car charger, a phone case up for $40 and a portable speaker. I picked out my gifts and was interested in a mophie case that was $129.99, he said I could buy that and it would take the $30 off from the free promotion. I agreed to buy the more expensive case due to them helping me out with my new phone. He rings everything up and it ends up being $300 or so dollars. I ask him to add insurance to my plan as well. He says he adds this. I say to him, so I am paying you $249.99 for the phone and the difference on the mophie price, he says yes, and I agree to pay. When I see the receipt, it does not make a ton of sense but he explains the breakdown, so I say okay and seem to understand it. A week or so goes by and I see on my bill that there is a monthly charge/payment plan for my new phone. I go into the store at my work, and they explain to me that I bought a phone on a payment plan and will be charged monthly for 24 months. I show them my bill from my day at the store and they pull it up in their system and tell me that I ended up paying for the speaker, charger and full price for the mophie case and that none of it was indeed free and that I did not pay for the phone at all yet, they asked me if I had a contract for the payment plan, I said no. I was not given a contract and I was not asked to sign anything, nothing was explained to me. They offered to return my "free black Friday items", which were not free at all. So much for not being eligible for a payment plan huh? Looks like this guy knew exactly how to take advantage of me and how to abuse a customer. I have since called their corporate HQ to submit a complaint, submitted a BBB complaint on this store and this incident and have also submitted a complaint to their customer service number. read more
