I went in with my Uncle to help him get a new phone (his was very old) and the whole experience was just rotten. Felt talked down to and received snark and sass, when just trying to make his phone work (we're both paying customers...). Left after waiting 35min, 2min exchange with verizon rep (apparently the other 4 sitting staring at their phones couldn't help) with a phone number that "would not be a robot" to help my Uncle. Went back to Uncles & we called the number, and low and behold - a robot put us on hold, before directing us to a robot/digital chat assistant. 3hrs later and 2 disconnections, Uncle terminated his contract with Verizon. I will be doing the same. These mega companies need to be cancelled. And if you feel you 'must have in person help' -- don't expect it in-store, you're better off trying the robot and maybe if you're lucky they'll connect you to a call center where you can barely hear the rep because they're likely across the ocean (no slack to them, they're probably underpaid). read more

I was having trouble activating the eSIM on my iPhone 16, so I made an appointment for 6pm last Friday and went in. As usual, the guy by the door checking people in was very helpful and patient, and sat with me for quite awhile trying to resolve the issue. We needed to call Verizon's activation desk, but it closed at 7pm EST (6pm CT). The salesperson called over the store manager, Ramon, to confirm that the desk closed at 7pm. When I asked what the options were, Ramon's tone immediately changed from helpful to annoyed, sharing with me that if I wanted the desk to be open I should have come for an earlier appointment. When I explained that 1) I don't know the Verizon desk's hours and that 2) 6pm was the only appointment available, he let me know that I should have called Verizon on my own since they don't do activations in the store (huh?). He let me know my upgrade order was still pending with Verizon, and the best I could do was restart my new phone every hour to see if it had worked. After 4 days with no phone, I did call Verizon and there ended up being a technical glitch on their end making the process to activate take almost 3 hours. The people on the phone were very helpful, and were even willing to stay on with me beyond 7pm. Maybe the guy who checks everyone in should be promoted to manager. read more

My rep, Manny, lied about the price of just about everything. He also 'lost' one of the phones we turned in so were not given credit for it. Definitely would not recommend this location to any Elmhurst University students. Manager refused twice to assist my son with a phone activation issue, even when I (his mother) came in once with him. even though both our home store and corporate told us to go in to the store. Manager definitely lacks customer service skills. Curt, rude and immediately shut down a simple request for assistance. Added: clearly this location has had multiple issues with customer service before us and nothing has been done to correct this issues, like as simple as having a phone number to call. We got our new Verizon account at this store last year. They set the phones up wrong, set the account up wrong and gave us incorrect information on the rebate offer. It took a day with Verizon's customer service to fix all of their mistakes. Today I called to change plans. Waited 25 minutes, which under the present circumstances wasn't a problem. Woman at the store said she would switch me to Verizon's customer service to make the change. Sure enough, she disconnected me. Do not shop here. read more

At first, I thought I was only talking to a pompous, insulting, condescending, belittling teenager when I was asking a few questions about the new iPhones 11 that they had in stock. (Per usual, they didn't have any of my color preferences and the guy gave no indication of how I could get the one I wanted). After 5 minutes, I was shocked to discover this idiotic young man was the manager! His badge was pinned on backwards, probably on purpose so that no one can report him by name. He was the evening manager on October 14, 2019. I've rarely been treated like a blithering moron - except by this punk. Meanwhile, his two seemingly-earnest and previously helpful employees stood nearby, one helping another customer, one looking at me suffer under the rudeness of his alleged boss. I will buy the phone online and drive much further to get the data transferred from my existing device. Meanwhile, Verizon needs to bring this guy in for some serious re-training or kick him out. DO NOT BUY THE ACCESSORY BUNDLE FROM HERE.....RIP OFF!!! Bought a IPhone and IPad here and then got distracted and bought $148 in accessories here (case, screen saver, cord, and fast charger) and didn't pay attention to the combined costs...until I realized I could have bought all these items on Amazon for ~$60 for as good or better quality. When I tried returning one piece of the bundle, they explained that because the bundle was already at a discount for all items combined, they'd have to unwind the discounts on all 4 for the refund and thus my cord would net only $4 - $5 in my hands because the unwinding of the bundle....Lesson learned - shop around vs. convenience. When you buy a phone, make sure you price out all accessories vs. a one stop shop when you're already at the store. Saves $90 waiting 2 days and actually my charger doesn't work well, but threw out the box during Christmas ($50 @ store vs. $15 on Amazon) so I couldn't return it, so I spent $50 for an expensive paper weight. read more

If I could I wouldn't have given one star Today we went in, as told by Verizon corporate office, to get a credit for the Apple Watch that we sent back to Verizon via ups. Corporate told us that the Verizon ticket information instructed this location to give us a credit. Easy enough, right, wrong. Cleveland Carr the Verizon Assistant Mgr took all of our information, including the ticket number we received from corporate. Cleveland went to the back room and then came back after over an hour of "researching" our claim. Cleveland also told us that he is taking it to his manager, and that it would three days to resolve. When I asked for a ticket number he told that he didn't have one. At that point we knew that he didn't do anything. I told him this and I would wait until I got a reference number. At this point the security guard told me I had to leave because I was disrupting the one customer that was in the store, All I was doing was sitting on the bench waiting. So here I am a senior citizen getting kicked out ofVerizon into the cold rain. My spouse went back into the store got Cleveland's information and was told by Cleveland that "Ruth" from Verizon is Looking into the matter. I was on the phone with Corporate Verizon told them what happened. They informed me that there was no activity on my account all morning. No inquires, no additional tickets, notes, nothing. He helped me get the phone I wanted at a price to my liking. I had strong reserves against the edge program at one point. I saw it as another Verizon scheme. This rep talked me into the edge program, got me a note 4 for 150 wit a ton of accessories that would've cost me over wat I paid & my bill is only going up $10 with full insurance. Apparently there was a problem with his account and the rep continued to help him while the other customer and I looked at each other after about 10 minutes watching this. I went up to the rep and said "maybe this customer can check in and be in line behind the other two customers who are waiting.". We'll I could not believe the rude dismissive attitude this rep had. What could have been an okay experience ended up taking forever and giving us both headaches. First off the sales guy couldn't tell us the difference in features between two phones we were interested in. We just decided to stick with what we know and get Motorola phones again because of the great battery life and the camera has improved, which was the only negative of our old ones. This particular phone has a cool cover on the back but the black ones no longer have it. (We were buying one black and one blue.) The sales guy knew this, didn't say a thing, and started programming phones. This is after we had already paid for them. When we realized it, we confronted him on it and he just glibly told us that's how it comes now. When asked why he didn't tell us, he said "you asked for black" and was a real ass about it. He then told us we'd be charged $35 to get another blue phone. At that point we asked for the manager, who apparently couldn't be bothered. In the end, he finally agreed to set up the blue phone but we're fairly certain he jerked around in the back for twenty minutes before starting. Originally the phones were set up in a few minutes. It shouldn't have taken nearly an hour to fix the problem. Finally, we get home to find out the phones are still running on Kit Kat, not lollipop, which, had he been able to tell us about the phones (Zeus forbid he should know his products) we might have gone with the Samsung we were looking at. Somehow the card is apparently in my name and I called the Verizon Visa credit card company who said that I am responsible for the bill. As a business professional and manager of employees, I recommend someone immediately review Megan Hans' performance to determine whether she is even capable of acting in a management capacity. In less than 24 hours, I have been provided with 4 different "tidbits" of information, all pointing their fingers at Megan for providing inaccurate information with regards to charges, on top of being an utter failure for customer support or employee support for that matter. I visited the Verizon store at 560 W St Charles Rd, Elmhurst, IL 60126 on April 18, 2019 to report technical issues with my phone. Megan Hans informed me that I would have to pay off the device, totaling $345. I asked for other options, at which point her employee looked at my phone again and immediately powered it on. At no point did Ms. Hans offer any assistance or apologies. Upon leaving this location, I contacted Verizon Wireless Customer Support to report the issue and gain an understanding of where Ms. Hans came up with the $345 amount. The representative I spoke to on the phone, advised me that Ms. Hans had provided me with inaccurate information and that I would only need to pay $273 to pay off the device to upgrade to a new working device. I returned to the same store location on April 19, 2019 to follow the direction given to me by the Verizon representative I spoke to on the phone. I met with a different representative, Corey, who carried me through the process and confirmed it would only cost $273 to pay off the broken phone to upgrade it early. I spent approximately 1.25 hours with Corey, choosing the new device and paying the $273 for the old device. Corey informed me he had run into an issue with the account and went to the back of the store to get management assistance. He returned to tell me they could not complete the transaction or provide the services I was there for because of finance restrictions on my account. He stated I had too many devices on my phone plan that maxed out my finance options. While this seems legitimate, I reminded him that I had just paid off the $1,000.00 broken device which should have made financing a new device an option. I then asked him to refund the $273 I had just paid to the store to complete this service, and he informed me that they were not able to refund the money. I expressed my frustration that I had followed their direction in paying off a device that was no longer functional for purposes of using my upgrade eligibility, which four (4) separate representatives had already confirmed I had: Adam, Megan, Sherri, and Corey. Corey informed me they did not have a way to back it out of their system. At no point during this 1.25 hours did Megan Hans come out from the back of the store to offer any apologies or provide additional clarification on the issues. Instead, she had her employee, Corey, running back and forth between me on their floor to wherever she was in the back of the store not caring about her own employees or the various customers still waiting for support while Corey was busy dealing with my issue. Corey was fully aware of my frustrations, and I repeatedly asked for management intervention. It was obvious Corey was doing everything within his power to assist me, but Megan Hans failed to offer her employee any support from the management end, instead leaving Corey with an angry customer who was just scammed out of $273. The issue here is with Megan Hans, first providing me with an inaccurate dollar amount on the first visit and then charging me $273 to pay for an upgrade which they did not complete. I have filed the necessary BBB complaint and charge back request via my bank card, so to some extent, my issue will be resolved with the money they charged me; however, it does not resolve my current issue with a broken device for which I am now stuck with until I hear back on my BBB case and the complaint I filed with corporate. I also urge Verizon to consider a performance evaluation on Megan Hans, as she is either willfully scamming their customers or doesn't have the skill set and knowledge to perform the position of a General Manager successfully. Her employment there is obviously a hardship on their business and reputation. read more

Adam Z is the best guy at this location. He's very straightforward, and tells you exactly on what the best solution will be for you. No bullshit, no upselling, just straight up honesty, with super fast service. We setup 4 lines with him, for new phones, activation, and data transfer and he did all of this super quick with no hassle and no extra charges. If you come here, look for him. TRUST ME, when the guy you're dealing with is honest and understands how business is built on good relationships and honesty, it's worth everything. The manager at this location is also super nice; employees are trained well under her. read more

When it comes to cell phone companies, you could say that I've been around the block. I've had pretty much every cell phone provider. My latest company is Verizon, and I'm satisfied with them so far. However, I wasn't completely happy with my phone and wanted a new one. Off to the Verizon store I go. I won't get into the complicated details of my contract/shared plan, but basically I needed to cancel my contract and get on a new one with my fiance. The guy who helped us was great at explaining how I should go about doing things and was way more helpful than the chat convo I had on the Verizon website. We came in to this store a few times to check out the phones and took careful time to choose the right one. Finally we were ready to sign up. We told the customer rep which phones we wanted and worked with us to get our contract going. It sucks all the things they try to push on you, which is why they lose a few points from me. While he was in the back getting our phones, we were just looking around. He was in the back for a good 10 minutes and we wondered what was taking so long. Well turns out, he was bringing a bunch of accessory crap that we said we didn't want. A whole bag full of covers, bluetooths, chargers, etc. Even after we said we didn't want it several times, he kept trying to push it on us. My fiance then went into a scientific/engineering explanation about the strength of the current backing on the phone and why a case was unnecessary. God bless his nerdiness. After about half hour, we were out of the store. When we got home, we realized that the numbers we chose for our specific phones were reversed: my fiance had the number I had chosen and he had the one I wanted. The guy set it up wrong even though he had confirmed it with us. Whatever. We both received new numbers anyway so it wasn't a huge deal, but it was a slight annoyance. I'd come back to this store for it's convenience and location, but I'm not excited about the possibility of getting hassled again. read more

I went to this location to do some research on a new phone since my plan was about to come up for a new, discounted device. For one thing, no one would help me look at phones, they just said to walk around and decide what I wanted. That's not terrible, I guess. But then when we talked about my plan, they insisted it was up on a later date than it actually was. I had confirmed it with Verizon before I went to the store, and told them this, but the salesperson was very rude about it. I ended up leaving because I was tired of arguing and not getting help. Months later when my plan came up for renewal I got an automated text directly from Verizon - I was right about that date. Guess I'll be going to a different Verizon to buy my phone. read more

I love the staff here. It looks like they know what they are doing not like the employees in Berwyn. So recently i had gone to this location bcus the one in Berwyn located on Cermak n Harlem had sent me to this location bcus apparently they didnt know how to do their jobs. I had received my new iPhone Pro 12 Max from Apple but for some reason it wouldnt activate. I had gone to the one in Berwyn n they had said that apple dosent send iPhones with 5g sim cards n that they didnt have any 5g sim cards themselves n therefore sending me to this location. Well i got here n it was as easy as 123. They have a better atmosphere and exactly knew what they were doing. Turns out i never needed a 5g sim card since the new iPhones come with it already. The gentleman just activated for me n even apologized that the other store which is 10 miles away sent me here when there was no need. I definitely recommend this place!!! read more

I am disgusted by this branch. Went in with my fiancé to add him to my plan and asked the employee what the total cost of everything would be once we switched. He said $132. I was so happy! So we decided to trade in a phone for the $22 extra dollars this employee said it would cost after trade-in, so the total was $154 based on that math. When we finished everything he told us it would be $217/month with insurance, fees etc. I immediately told him how I felt misled and lied to. His response? Shoulder shrug. Then he didn't help us set up the phones because the store was closing. Told us "good luck!" I left my feedback on a survey and the manager called to apologize and offer me a credit of $40 on my next bill. Come to get my bill yesterday and NO CREDIT to be found. Then proceeded to wait 3 consecutive days on hold for an average of 20 minutes per day before someone answered. NEVER GO HERE! read more

Hubby and I went to get my daughter's phone switched from ATT to Verizon. After the lack of technical expertise at the Elmhurst store, We drove to the store on 22nd and Wolf Road. Not only was this store revamped with great products, the technical expertise of the person helping us was extremely good. We were greeted at the door, told how long the wait was, then when it was our turn, the rep knew what she was doing! It was worth the drive. This Verizon location is my husband & I's main store. This is where we got both of our phone's and my husband has been going here for a couple years now. I have only been here twice, and I really have had an overall good experience. The workers are very friendly, and they have a very good system set up for helping customers. I went in one day and there was a really long wait time. The supervisor came over, asked me why I was in the store today, took my name and was extremely friendly! Of course I had absolutely no issue with waiting. She then came to me during my wait and talked with me which I found to be very professional! They definitely take care of you here. Our main guy is Manny, and he is awesome!! I swear this man cannot have a bad attitude towards anything. He really makes the experience a lot better for customers. Any questions you have, he will answer them with no hesitation and work with you. The only thing I am not a fan of is Verizon's high prices for phones. They do give great service deals though! All in all I really love this store, and you won't see me switching to anywhere else any time soon. read more

I went yesterday to Verizon to get new phone.I have contract with Verizon with un-limited everything, data text etc, because according to my 2 teenager kids you need interned for everything in life. We have 4 phones ( 3 smart phones and 1 good old flip phone-mine). I still have old flip phone, but I made my mind ( actually my wife made my mind for me), that it was time to move in in to 21st century and get a smart phone. I went in and got myself Samsung Galaxy S7. The gentlemen name Adam that was helping my out suggested that I get the case, screen protector and car charger (they had some great offer going or so I was told) , you could get all 3 for $89.99. I agreed, why not phone needs protecting. I also added the $11.99 a month phone protection in case my phone brakes. So I paid for my phone , all the accessories and went on my way. Adam was a very pleasant and helpful salesman, after approx. 2 hours I got my new phone. The reason I will only give this place 2 stars is because after 2 hours I have to go back today and spend who knows how much time there. The $34.00 screen protector on my phone is already coming off after only one day and the protection plan that I added to my phone was added to my son phone not mine. I didn't mind spending 2 hours there yesterday , but going back there today to get this 2 mistakes corrected is inconvenient for me at best. It should not happen !!!! read more
