With a few brief instructions on timing and where our serving pieces were I was completely free to concentrate on our guests and enjoy myself. She inspired confidence from the start and followed through. Her sense of timing and service was great--she kept the buffet table well supplied as people came back for seconds & thirds and she was engaging and friendly throughout. Now to the food--in a word, FABULOUS. All vegetarian; healthy, fresh, delicious & beautifully presented; her specialty. We started off with a wonderful Cheese Platter that was accompanied with dried figs, maple tamari glazed nuts, buckwheat chees straws and fresh fruit. Later, on the buffet table, we had Rustic Pizza Bites with goat cheese,butternut squash, camelized onions & fried sage, Sweet Pea Dumpings with Mint dipping sauce, Corn & Black Bean Cakes topped with a dollop of Guacamole, Vegetable Spring Rolls with a Thai Almond dipping sauce, and the best warm Artichoke Parmesean Dip EVER (so light & delicious, not heavy & greasy like the ususal). Everyone is still talking about the food. Even my meat and potaotes brother was happy! It was a filling yet light meal and so different from the usual buffet fare. I'd purchased a birthday cake and when it came time for that, Lisa jumped right in and took charge of cutting and serving. Her energy was boundless and I was left with a clean kitchen and leftovers that were placed in my fridge in well marked, tidily prepared containers....for a few days we happily ate that lovely party food and had fond memories of the day. Working with Lisa was comfortable and easy. She responded promptly to emails and phone calls. Though we repeatedly changed our menu, and increased the guest count, Lisa never once declined a requested change. Since we had no official wedding coordinator for our small affair (40 guests), Lisa wisely requested that we provide her with a point-person who could answer any questions during meal preparation. My aunt served in this role, and said that Lisa was very pleasant and easy to work with. The food reviews by all of our guests were overwhelmingly positive. Many people said is was the best wedding dinner they had ever had (that was certainly true for my wife and me). Considering that the guests comprised a large range of dining preferences and dietary restrictions, the positive reviews are that much more impressive. Despite the small size of our wedding, Lisa and her helper were never intrusive. In fact, had she not found my wife and I to complement us and say farewell, I hardly would have known she was present. I would highly recommend Fiddleheads Cuisine for any small event requiring catering. Also, based on my experience, I suspect that the community-supported kitchen service, cooking classes, and in-home cooking service provided by Fiddleheads are all equally meritorious and excellent. The cream cheese is the perfect accompaniment and they have so many flavors. I got a breakfast sandwich with a bagel, sausage, egg & cheese. They crack fresh eggs and griddle them up in front of you. The new owners have done a wonderful job restoring the architecture and updating the store. They scratch make sammies each day and just found that Sandy who used to own the Bobcat pub (Bristol) a few years ago makes burgers on Fridays here :). I used to eat one after my hikes nearby and GTK since Bobcat closed permanently a few weeks ago! LGS has a bit of everything, bevies, caps, groceries, candles, cleaning, fishing supplies etc., and decent gift section too. It's a great stop for the residents, visiting explorers and hikers too as the Long Trail and Mt Abe are close-by. When I visited many residents and kids were coming and going. I saw a young boy putting out ca$h for his candy which was so cute. Sharon behind the counter was friendly and helpful. With many old VT disappearing, I was thrilled to find LGS thriving! The desserts are always luscious! They have fresh coffee, Glen's Pride bread made by our local baker who lives just down the road. I even saw my all time favorite caramel sauce = Fat Toad made with goat´s milk. We ended up getting several local cheeses, ciders and beers, and meat from nearby farms. Staff were friendly and even helped me out to my car cause I had too many bags to carry on my own. Next time we are in town, I will be sure to stop by during the hours the deli is open to try one of their yummy looking sandwiches.

We were greeted by Judith's 3 dogs, what a welcoming! They wanted their ball to be thrown. One of the last reviews stated they were generally there 10-4 on weekends so we took a chance, and I am glad we did. Judith shared their story, invited us to check out the production facility just over the ridge and even go see the goats a few miles away at the goat creamery / dairy. I have always been a fan of caramel, but had no idea you could take it to this level of flavor. We bought the 2oz jar sampler packs to return home to Pennsylvania. The salted bourbon and Vermont maple caramels were my favorite, my wife enjoyed the cold brew caramel and cinnamon. We plan to cut up some fresh apples when we get home to enjoy of new found heaven and remember just how nice Judith was and how she shared a piece of her life with us. Vermont is a beautiful place!
