Great food and friendly customer service at Vero's Hero's. They have an extensive menu offering several dozen food items. The staff never smiles and orders are ALWAYS messed up. After Ex-Owner Larry M sold his half of the business this company took a drastic turn down hill. 10 years ago you could have had a wonderful meal with a smiling service. Now you walk in to see frowning faces. Food under/or over cooked. Typically taking 25 minutes for a quick Wrap. You DO NOT want to waste your time. We're in this place at least twice a week, glad we found this amazing hole in the wall of a gas station. Don't be fooled by the location, the food is delicious, sometimes you have to wait, but it's well worth it. The owner Frank is quite friendly as are the staff, we usually have a laugh or two everytime I'm waiting for my ATW gyro. Seating is limited and it gets real busy, you can also call in your order and pick it up. Lastly, you can enjoy VH's food delivered to your door via services such as Door Dash. read more

First time ordered gizzards was a decent amount for the $ the next 2x there might have been 10 gizzards in the box if you were lucky. Definitely not worth the $4.99 I will say they have excellent flavor tho and would order them more often if it was worth the amount you pay for. I go to this Shell regularly and just about every time I go there is a line of people wait and ordering food. Staff is always friendly and attentive to both businesses. I was in the other day and as I got what I needed from the gas station I finally decided I would order something, and I wish I had been eating here way sooner. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and they were out of their sub rolls, (I was bummed at first, since that just ruled out about the half the menu) but I was craving that cheesesteak. So I ordered it on a hamburger bun, the guy who made it brought it up and told me to take a bite and make sure I liked before I left he would make something else if I didn't. And it was better than any cheesesteak I've had anyway in or near Vero. I went back the next day and got one when they had there sub rolls in. And it was just as good. Definitely recommend to anyone. Some negative reviews referenced just blow my mind and definitely don't agree. read more

This little walk up counter restaurant with a few seats inside of a gas station has much better food than many full-service restaurants. I'm not kidding! I've had several mediocre or worse meals around town, and more disturbingly, the beach and other ritzy areas. Then, there is this place, hidden inside of a Shell gas station. I first heard about it on Real Radio about a year ago and popped in. It was crowded then and has a brisk business no matter when you come. Everything that I have ever ordered has been excellent. They make one of the best cheese steak and Cuban subs that I have had anywhere. ...Real roasted pork in the Cuban and perfectly cooked, stuffed & non greasy cheese steak. Other sandwiches are also excellent. Try the BLT sub. Crazy bacon loaded goodness! Don't think it is worth the reasonable price, that it may only contain a few slices of bacon? Fear not, although your cardiologist might not agree. I have had a few meals there also, plus wings. Everything has just been excellent, fresh, carefully prepared and reasonably priced. The wings are always fully-cooked and crispy. In my opinion the only way you can ruin wings is by under-cooking them. It is amazing how many places can't figure this out, especially the restaurants that specialize in them. The wings are always perfect at VH. I've never had a mediocre meal or sandwich! I popped in there for a quick bite on a crazy day and ended up going there regularly for the family when we want a quick meal. Plus, they are open until 9PM! read more

Their burgers are the best in town in my opinion. Very good food. They however have a bad and consistent habit of getting orders wrong. I'd say 7 of the last 10 burgers I've ordered over the last 2-3 months have been missing something or haven't been cooked as ordered. I would recommend trying them out, just check your order. read more
