Came by today on a whim and it was very muddy! Bring your patience and boots :) The area we were told to pick from did not have any ripe red Himalayan mulberries so we picked the white ones. Since they are smaller, it takes longer to pick and you have to look up into the trees to pick them. Staff are always very nice and they try to be helpful and answer questions.

I've lived over 45 years of life and the only things I knew about Mulberries were the nursery rhyme "Here we go round the mulberry bush" and one coworker told me a few years ago that they are really good and I need to try it sometime. Mulberries grow on trees, not bushes! Curse you, nursery rhyme! When one of our friends asked us to go fruit picking, specifically mulberry picking, we jumped at the opportunity. We arrived at the parking lot and it was massive. It reminded me of parking at an amusement park - they'll someday need posted signs with characters so we can remember where we parked. Parking is free, but there is an admission fee of $8 per person. Reservations can be made online in advance - we just scanned the QR code on site to get tickets. Our friends remembered a few years back where it was a much smaller operation, there was a fee to park, but no price of admission. Upon entering, they give you some plastic boxes to pack the mulberries you pick. Every case you take home costs $9. They also give you a long stick with a narrow plastic cylinder at the end. We were first wondering how in the world are we supposed to pick fruit with a half open tube. But after the first try, it turned to common sense. The ripe berries are barely hanging on, so if you tap them gently, they fall into the tube. Mulberries really long dark berries. I didn't measure, but maybe 1 to 2 inches in length. We tried to get the darkest, most ripe ones. Some of those were too ripe and borderline starting to ferment. The light purple ones still tasted pretty good despite not looking that ripe. I don't know how to describe the flavor - it's certainly berry adjacent. Our whole family loves berries and three of us were devouring berries while our fourth member stopped at one. It's ok, because the rest of us ate enough to covert the full price of admission. We went in early May and the weather was fantastic. There is some shade for protection, but definitely bring a hat and water. We were outside for over an hour and a half between walking from the parking lot, gaining admission, and the fruit picking itself. Highly, highly recommend Very Mulberry. I'm still thinking about the experience weeks later and it brings a smile to my face.

Very very large farm with both black mulberries and white mulberries! Extremely abundant and super fun jiggling for the fruits using the cup fruit picker stalk things. I do actually recommend just bringing a pair of disposable gloves and wearing clothing you don't mind getting stained. $6 per clamshell (sometimes they do a deal). White mulberries only available starting 1:30pm? Bit weird they don't talk about it on their website. $8 for entrance fee per person. Can be bought online on their website. Also eat the fruit ASAP or freeze them. They do go bad very easily. And yes they have creepy crawlies on them so wash them. Second year going here but this time during Memorial Day weekend and would recommend avoiding coming here during these times as the parking lot was chaotic and took what felt like 20 mins just sitting in the parking lot trying to exit. They had attendants trying to half manage it but they don't seem to have it figured out. Also a lot of people kinda end up blocking the entrance, if you have the QR code/ticket just walk past the people and scan your code. Love that they sell mulberry trees!

Well, it's that time of the year again. And almost three years after my 1st review of this place. Things actually improved after that maiden purchase as they are a seasonal regular at the Ferry farmers' market. I remember buying quite a bit in 2025 on both Tuesdays and Saturdays. On the final Saturday in April, I noticed their stand and decided to buy a couple boxes for a friend who is a huge fan (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=jBczSUlQoHX7A7lgw__JZA). If you are a fan, please note that the season is limited, generally six to eight weeks from what I remember. There are generally only two other farms that offer this and they are even more limited since it is a rotational crop for them. Welcome back to the Ferry farmers' market and I'll be seeing you weekly until the season is over. Look for the stand along the south driveway, just past the food stands (Roli Roti and Wise Sons Bagels).

Super fun experience! This was my first time trying a Mulberry and at a Mulberry farm, it felt really unique and the entire farm is set up to be as easy and smooth as possible. Mulberries are only in season for less than 8 weeks so make sure you try to come when it's open. The mulberries are super sweet and supple, like a cross between a moon drop grape and blackberry! Definitely sample them but be warned, they do stain your clothes and hands easily. The u-pick is easy to find and the Mulberry Train which is included in the $8/person admission is an easy way to get to more trees with ripe Mulberries. They provide picking tools and boxes for you to fill up (priced at $9 per box) and the grounds have portable bathrooms, sinks to wash your hands and a few food trucks on the weekends which is great.

What a neat activity! Def have to try it at least once. Learn what it is, how it tasted, and how it is picked! Very cool. Did you know? Mulberries are stone fruits $8 admission per person Pay additional $8 per box you leave with picking Free parking Free use of the picking tool There are food, cookie and shaved ice stands in the food area

What an awesome U-pick experience if you're a mulberry lover! These long caterpillar-looking berries are so sweet and juicy, and they're even better when you pick them fresh off the tree! We made the drive out to Brentwood on a Saturday and oh boy was it crowded and busy! The farm is big enough for everyone to spread out though and so it didn't feel too crowded if you just go out in the field far enough. It was 8$ per adult entry fee, and then each box of mulberries that you fill up to take home is $9. You do get unlimited sampling though to eat mulberries to your heart's delight! You also get a picker stick to use to pick the mulberries high in the trees. When we went in late April, there were still plenty of mulberries in the lower branches to hand pick. The mulberries here were so sweet and supple! Each bite gushed with that purple mulberry juice and I couldn't stop sampling them until my mouth and hands were stained purple! The mulberries do get moldy within a few days though, so plan to eat them soon after. Such a fun outdoor spring activity, looking forward to going back in a few weeks for more mulberries!

This was so fun. Mulberries tend to be delicate and don't stay fresh for long, so you'll rarely see them in grocery stores. There's nothing better than being able to pick them fresh off the trees! They are so juicy and sweet--I would describe the flavor as something between a cherry and blackberry. Make sure to plan a mulberry picking day in Brentwood before the season is over.

Box of Mulberry's has gotten smaller.

We woke up excited to pick mulberries this morning. We had already paid the $8 per person entrance fee online, but when we arrived, we were given new smaller plastic boxes for $6 each, about half the size of the ones they used to provide. Maybe I missed this information on their website, but the experience is starting to feel a bit too commercial and not as local. To improve, they should be more transparent about the changes...especially the smaller $6 boxes. Clear communication would help the experience feel less commercial and more like the local farm visit people expect.

What a fun time! Our party of 3 had 830am reservations on May 16. It was our first time mulberry picking, and definitely won't be our last. Everything was well organized and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Mulberry Express was a unique experience that both adults and kids could enjoy! We enjoyed the picking experience, as well as "sampling the goods". Highly recommend going earlier in the day to avoid crowds and rising temperatures. Will be back next season!

We reserved in advance and went there on a Saturday morning. Didn't get the VIP parking but the regular parking was good too. The Mulberry express train ride to the trees was cute and fun. There were lots of Mulberries and the process was simple. They gave us 5 plastic boxes and one cardboard box. We took about an hour to fill all the 5 boxes. The staff was friendly and even offered to take pictures of our group. The mulberries are super sweet and delicious. There were some vendors there selling popcorn, cookies, Pani puri and more. This experience is really worth it.

Infested with soooo many worms - fruit fly larvae I believe
    Stephanie W.

Omg! Infested with worms...I brought my kids here for the fun experience and they were eating some mulberries as they picked them. After washing them with baking soda and water, I ate a lot but then saw a moving worm popping out of one. I decided to wash all the berries again with a vinegar soak and saw hundreds of worms come out of the 2 boxes of mulberries that I had. I feel sick to my stomach that I ate the infested mulberries. The berries are tasty but I don't know how I can get past this.

My 1st time U-Picking Mulberries. I had never tasted them before, but thought I'd give them s try! Ok, they have the texture of a blackberry and a bit more of a savory/sweet taste. I'm thinking of making jam vs cobbler, as I don't think they are a proper cobbler taste for me. The farm was clean and they make it very easy to pick. Fun for families, I'm sure. Berries are extremely clean, not one bug or larvae found, just bit of berry and lil dirt.

My daughter and I found what looked to be an unpicked cherry tree and went to work. It didn't take long for us to gather a bounty of cherries, and there was tons of low hanging fruit that was super easy for a petite seven-year-old to reach. Special thanks to the Freitas staff member who told us to pick dark cherries. The bright red ones look appealing but they need more time on the tree! We took home seven pounds of cherries. There was no signage indicating price/pound, and they give you a plastic bag to carry your cherries. When we got into the orchard, we noticed that most of the trees had been either picked clean or had berries that were rotten or too small/not ripe yet. We intentionally walked much further in to see if we could find some trees that hadn't been picked as much, but the orchard wasn't in great shape. We struggled to find cherries we actually wanted to pick, and we tripped a few times on the uneven dirt, weeds, and tubes running throughout. When we left, we weighed our cherries and confirmed they were $4/lb. Freitas also doesn't take credit card, so we had to pay with either cash or Venmo. We've previously been to The Cherry Pit and far preferred our experience there.
