As I reached my 600 miles in my Vespa, I feel like it's a good time to share how much of fun has been driving around town. I am a young professional who just refused to start my day with the headache and inconvenience of a rush hour subway commute, specially during the summer time when MTA decides to work on maintenance every night and every weekend. My solution, got a GTS Vespa to try and see how easy it gets to commute to work every day. Well... let me tell you about it. It is really lovely to drive to work, make a few stops before if I need to, get my morning coffee as I park right in front of the store, any store.. finding free parking it's never a issue, as a matter fact it's been 6 months I haven't used the subway that all. I am happier to make my own commute, gas is supper cheap.. I ride my Vespa every single day 10 to 20 miles around town and gas is about 4 dollars a week. Yeah! Bit that. I was really please with everyone who helped me at the Vespa Piaggio Store the team is really friendly, specially Luis, who found exactly the model of Vespa good for me.. and gave a all the sweet tips that has been really helpful since he owns him self a Vespa. The Grand Street location is very convenient for Manhattan residents and the staff is friendly and chill. Lots of models to choose from. But there is a real drawback. They do not do any repairs or inspections at this location, only at the Brooklyn store which requires you to drive over a bridge to Brooklyn or pay $50.00 for them to pick it up in a van and take it to Brooklyn. BUT there are times when even that transport service is not available. read more

When I relocated to SoHo NYC from Paris a number of years ago, one of the first things I did was to pop down to my local Vespa store (Crosby street at the time) to pick up a new Vespa, unfortunately I had to leave my old toys, Vespa, BMW GS, Yamaha, some 911's etc, back in France... I did not consider the "we don't let you test ride" an issue as I already had owned a few Vespas, so I ran my credit card and drove away. A year or two later, I saw a Royal Enfield in their retail window and thought that would be a great complement to the Vespa, alternatively, it would look great in my apartment down the block... "Sir, we appreciate your business but test rides are illegal in New York..." What...? Since when...? I won't buy the bike unless I can try it and for the record, I have had a license for a few decades, ridden a few hundred thousand miles, on all continents & all terrains, irrelevant in this case but I also land big planes and believe I can take a bike around the block without destroying it... :))) So, I ended up buying a Harley Davidson that day, after a, perfectly legal test ride, in NYC... Anyhow, along the years I have popped in a number of time with the intention to buy something to 'fill the holes' in my current rides & locations (need rides in the country house also...), a Aprilia for fun on the track, a new Vespa, Moto Guzzi, etc... every single time I walk through the door I'm greeted with the most incompetent sales people, I seem to know more about their products than their sales people do. To cut to the chase, no serious rider would ever buy an (unfamiliar) bike unless he or she do a test ride. I popped in to pick up a Guzzi Bobber this spring for my summer house and was greeted with the same BS as usual (no test ride, insinuating that it is illegal in New York & no clue about the product) and ended up test riding a competitor's bike in the city and rode it out to the Hamptons that same afternoon. Finally and permanently done with these people... That being said, the service/repair people at their BK location are really nice. read more

This fall I decided to get a Vespa! I was looking at vintage used ones online but since it was my first bike I decided to get a new one since I wanted the warranty and service. When I went into Vespa Manhattan I was there over an hour asking a ton of questions about the different kinds of bikes, gear and even how to get my motorcycle license. Shain was very helpful and patient with me and answered everything and I felt comfortable because he was a seasoned rider so he was very knowledgeable about the bikes. The owner Andrew even extended to give me a lesson on the bike in Brooklyn after I purchased it. After I left the store I emailed Shain a few times with more questions which he responded to in a timely manor. I feel like they really held my hand through the whole process since it was my first bike purchase and I'm confident they will continue to do so during the duration I have the bike. All in all I'm super happy with the purchase, customer service and can't wait for the spring! read more

I was searching for a reasonable priced Vespa, i had a quote from few places including New Jersey and Brooklyn but this store reached me out on a Monday morning and by Wednesday i was on my scooter. Andrew, owner of the store, and his employee Shain they both understand from motorcycle. There are some other brands including Moto Guzzi and Piaggio too. Both of the men are customer friendly, there is a good vibe in the store that drags you to browse each bike even though you are not interested. They have the most opportunity right now if you are searching for a 300 gs, also they have more color options than all the stores i asked. Originally we stopped by to just get information on a Vespa. After speaking with one of their excellent sales reps, Luis, we purchased, on the spot, two new Vespas. Luis was personable, knew the product and patient in answering all our questions. Largely, as a result of his excellent help, we are now proud scooter enthusiasts. We then picked our scooters up in the Brooklyn location and thanks to Andrew and his father, got the scooters safely loaded into our cargo van. Worse service ever. I was driving my Piaggio scooter in Manhattan on Sunday when I started to feel like something was kicking underneath, I stopped to check and found out that the full engine was moving. It was too dangerous to drive it and I didn't want to make it worst that it was, so I googled and found this store, I first drove slow and I finish by pushing it to the store but they were closed and will open the next day at 11am. I parked my scooter in front of their windows, I wanted to leave a note but I didn't have any paper or pen so I planned on coming there at 11am when they open. When I arrived at 10:50am the next day and told them that I was the owner of the Typhoon, they all jumped on me to tell me that I should not have parked my scooter there without a note or a call (how I was supposed to call a closed store). Then after they called their garage they told me that they won't be able to take care of my scooter before Nov 5th (1 week and a half later), I was ok with that but then they told me that they won't be able to keep it until the 5th because they don't have space, I answered that I am not able to drive it and then was told that I would have to find a spot to park (We are in NYC easiest place to park for a week and a half) and that I should take an appointment like everbody. (Next time I will plan when the scooter that they sale broke!) I left the store really made pushing my scooter. I was thinking buying a motorcycle to replace the scooter I can tell you that I won't buy it here. I read their reviews and apparently they are really good at selling motocrycle but when you have an issue with it you are on your own. read more
