As we walked in, we were met with the great aroma of coffee and baked goods. The place was very busy and there were a lot of staff moving around and customers having conversations or in line to order take out. We sat in a separate area downstairs and we were the only guests there. It was somewhat dark but it was private and there were bathrooms downstairs. We tried their tiramisu that was one of the bests I've ever tried. We also ordered their pistachio martini that was a super treat as it also had pistachio gelato. I'm not a regular here so I don't know if this is always true, but based on the behavior of certain wait staff it seems like Vittoria does not like to accommodate larger groups and actually prefers them to stay away. Our party of 9 chose this cafe as a convenient midpoint location and had a terrible experience recently, which is why I'm updating my prior review. When about 2/3 of the group had arrived, we asked if we could be seated. The woman we asked said yes and started putting two tables together. While another woman was bringing chairs over, an angry male server who was not involved at all, suddenly began having an aggressive outburst that made very little sense to us. Even if we didn't fully understand what he was saying, the nonverbal communication was clear enough. Our group felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected, so we left immediately. I don't know what their internal rules are about seating, but offending customers should not be one of them. Thankfully we were able to salvage the evening elsewhere, but service here could be a challenge, especially for larger groups. I'm fortunate that the cafes in my own neighborhood are always kind and welcoming, which makes them a joy to support. I'd hope Vittoria could do better in the future, but personally, we are unlikely to try them again. read more

I loved the cannoli here. Don't sue me but I think cafe vittoria cannoli is better than Mikes pastry cannoli! The cannoli is smaller and has a more cheesy taste. A friend recommended this coffee shop; it's affordable as well as delicious. Tiramisu: Their signature dish, absolutely fantastic! The cream was smooth, delicate, and light, very sweet but not cloying at all; the cake was soaked in coffee, making it soft and moist. I love this café... I have so much history with this location... I frequented this café since the late 80s... back in the day we used to come here after clubbing... 2 AM possibly 3 AM with stroll in my table would be waiting for me. We have espresso and pastry and to our newfound friends. So many memories here... this is an old school establishment... it's always run with honor and Pride... the pastries and coffees are out of this world delicious... Recently, I show up in the afternoon or after an evening at a show or after dinner to relax with a triple espresso, of course, with some beans and possibly a cannoli or pastry... as for anywhere in the north end unless you were local good luck finding parking... No matter how you are going to arrive make sure you do and if you wanna act like an old school or head to the back and up the stairs, sit on the platform makes you feel important... possibly in the back room... This place was recommended by our Uber driver. Many people mentioned the place next door which is very popular. We wanted something recommended by a local and very happy we went here. We were warned it was a cash only place. We just had dinner and wanted a little dessert and night cap. We walked in and although it was very busy, we sat right away. This place is interesting. I had a decent lavazza coffee. I love lavazza. The place is a horseshoe shape around a cigar bar. You can smell the tobacco through the floor which gave it a very old world feel that I liked. It was packed so I got my coffee to go. If you're gonna go for a slice of cake, I'd recommend the rum cake. I'm not really a cake person, but this one was super moist and delicious. Just be warned that if you're coming on a weekend, it's probably going to be pretty crowded. I'd recommend as a date spot, since the lighting is pretty dim and it feels like a more intimate spot. I left this café feeling more disappointed than satisfied. The coffee and éclair were average at best, nothing memorable. What really ruined the experience was the service. From the moment we sat down, we constantly felt rushed, as if the staff wanted us to finish and leave as quickly as possible. The attitude was cold and unwelcoming. To make things worse, this place is cash-only. When giving our change back, they rounded the amount in their favor instead of returning the exact change. Then, after I had already put my change into my bag, a server came over, pointed her finger at the "Tip" section on the receipt, and said, **"Tip is not included, okay?"** That was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I usually tip in the U.S., even though I strongly dislike the tipping culture. I have no problem rewarding good service. But tips are supposed to be earned, not demanded. Pressuring customers for a tip after providing mediocre service is unacceptable. Respectfully, if a business wants customers to tip, it should first provide service that deserves it. This experience left a very bad impression, and I won't be coming back. read more

TLDR: We really loved it as post dinner destination before we wrapped up our night. Absolutely Coke for the energy and ambiance We heard this place had the best tiramisu on Boston. Even at close to midnight it was absolutely packed with high turnover. Lots of loud conversation and fun among all the groups. If you've ever been to Versailles in Miami it's a very similar vibe. I ordered a decaf latte and my girlfriend ordered an espresso martini to go with our tiramisu. One caveat, our slice of tiramisu was good but not out of this world. It was light on the espresso and so the lady fingers were a little cakey as opposed to being a vehicle for that amazing coffee punch. They were cranking out tons of this stuff (we were seated near the counter and we watched slice after slice being plated) so it's possible we got a slice that was just a light pour somehow. What is recommended to check out this place while in Boston. Atmosphere was very quaint. Really liked the European feel. There was a bit of a line to get in, but it went pretty quickly. The owner did seem to be rushing people out the door and squeezing in every single person that he could. We waited around 15 minutes for a table but I believe it's worth it. It does get pretty busy here depending what time you come. For drinks we ordered their famous cappuccino and a hot chocolate.
