An absolutely great option in the west Kendall area -- good sized pies for the price and it has a great fluffy inside but crispy outside crust. The cheesy garlic bread was also great, but very garlicky. My boyfriend's Philly cheesesteak was amazing! There aren't too many seats to eat there, so it's more of a takeout spot in my opinion. Good hot pizza! Wait time for a pie is about 30 minutes but they have ready to go slices if you need something quick. They have a decent lunch special which is 2 cheese slices and a drink. The slices are very big. The pizza is crispy so there's a slight crunch with every bite. The price is a bit high for pizza IMO but it taste so good it's nice to have once in a while. Staff is nice and helpful when recommending size pizza you should order. They also have subs here too. You can watch the pizza master make your pizza right in front of you. There's no seating inside but there are benches and tables outside that can accommodate about 10 people. read more

My, oh my. I think I have found my new favorite pizza!! This pizza is sooo damn good! It's nice and thin, super flavorful, and the flavor of the pepperoni is not overwhelming like some can be. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese ratio to the bread. They take a little longer than I am used to for the order to be ready- about 30 minutes - but no biggie at all. Now that I know I just make sure I call with a little extra time. The staff inside were so warm and welcoming, and everyone seemed really efficient. I'm pregnant & was craving a good pizza last night. My husband and son were in the mood for pasta so I looked up a place nearby and was led here. I had two cheese pizza slices and they were exactly what I was craving! My husband ordered the cheese ravioli and my son got the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was delicious!!! We sat and enjoyed our dinner on their outside seating. We were given some garlic breads and salads which were perfect as we waited for our food. Okay this place is honestly so underrated! Can be easily missed it's sitting on a corner of a Kendall shopping center. The pizza is perfection. From the crust to the sauce. Everything is very fresh and made with a lot of love. Forget the big pizza chains and try this family owned restaurant. I always go traditional and get the cheese pizza and the garlic bread. Today I was transported to another planet. I tried the Contadina specialty pizza. The sadest moment was when I picked up the last slice. I walked in and order the Contadina at the counter. I was created by beautifully kind girl. She was patient with my indecisiveness and then I finally concluded that this was my pizza. WOW what a decision the Contadina is made with a garlic sauce instead of tomato. They put Italian sausage , fresh basil , artichokes and not sure what else. I enjoyed every last bite by my chubby self of a 12" 6 slice pizza. If you can't tell I highly recommend this specialty pizza. The crust was perfectly toasted and crunchy. Also, love that you can grab by the slice if you're not feeling a whole pie. Staff was truly spectacular. Gabriela in particular was kind and attentive when there was a mishap with my Philly Cheesesteak--another unbelievably stellar offering from their menu and maybe even the best Philly cheesesteak in Miami. My go to spot for good ol fashioned NY style pizza. Been frequenting Vesuvios for about 15 years now and it never misses. My go to for a classic Ny style cheese pizza. I live about 25 minutes away but I still make the treck almost twice a month. Cheese is my go to but all their pies r great. From the veggie (fresh) and pepperoni pies to my wife's favorite, the white pizza. Extremely friendly staff as well. Always a pleasure going there. Tried this placed based on the reviews and wanting to try a new pizza place. Ordered the family special which brings a large pie, garlic rolls and a 2 liter bottle of our choice of soda for $18.95. Went to pick it up, being that it was my first time there, I was surprised to see that it really isn't a restaurant where you can eat in. Yes, they have a a few tables outside for sitting but I think it's better suited for pick up or delivery. I was disappointed that for a family special there were only half a dozen garlic rolls as opposed to other places such as Marinos or Mama Mia's family specials which include a dozen in their family specials. The pizza was ok. My husband and sons like it. Not sure if I will order again . I hate to give this type of reviews but I have to be honest. Now - Quality has suffered; cheese is not the same; and basil has gone missing in the sauce. Flavor is what has suffered most in the pizza. They can still achieve a chewy medium and crispy crust, but it's not consistent - hit or miss. QC is out the window, like all businesses when they get complacent or cut corners... Vesuvio was a better tasting experience when Alvin (owner) or Ciro took a more active role in running the business, or even preparing the pizzas - Good Pizzaiolos are hard to come by. With that said, the reviews are above average and many people still do enjoy it. If you plan to visit and suffer from hyperacusis, no matter the degree, take your ear plugs, the db levels will put a Who concert to shame. If you dig that, then all the better! The place is not huge inside. In fact there are just a few chairs and some tables outside so most people take their order to go. They have a wide variety of pizza options in S, L, or XL. NO medium. For 2 people normally a small will do with some garlic rolls. I'll get to those in a minute. I like for my pizza not to bend when I pick it up so I usually find the small as the best choice. They do not skimp out on the toppings. Sometimes you'll just get a few on the entire pizza from other Italian pizza joints. The cheese is brought over from Italy. Every year he plans a trip to go and select the cheese. The dough is prepared every morning so all of the ingredients are fresh and you can tell the difference. The pizza doesn't get hard the next day. Pricing is typical to any Italian style pizza figure around $20 for a small pizza and rolls. I definitely prefer to pay for quality. The role here are he bet I've had. Especially if they are just lightly toasted. It feels like that will melt in your mouth. With the garlic and cheese on top make sure you're not planning on kissing anyone soon. All in all this is my go to spot and they have yet to let me down. Keep it up!!! read more

Delicious pizza! Drove around the strip mall 2 times to find this place. The pizza place is behind the Carvel ice cream store, it's on the side, not the front of the strip mall. There is no sign so you have to get out of your car and walk tp the place. That said. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. the pizza is literally made fresh. The dough is portioned out from a bowl at the end of the table and kneaded, fluffed, and tossed in front of you. THEN, you watch as the pizza man carefully and delicately puts fresh ingredients on your pizza (for me it was fresh tomatoes and fresh basil). It was AMAZING. Have the Italian gods answered my prayers for amazeball sandwiches and mouthwatering pizza? Why yes, they have. Boyfriend and I stumbled on this place and he was reluctant to go inside. Can't blame him as the place is next to dumpsters and a creepy lot that makes you feel like you might get kidnapped or as he put is "this could be a hidden gem or a cover location for the mafia"... Ladies and gents, it' a hidden gem. Reason why I didn't give it a 5-star is because of their location. Just depressing exterior and definitely a place for takeout and not dine in. But if you decide to do carry out as we did, once you step inside, you feel like you've been to Italy. The main chef is Italian and just hearing him speak made me want to jump on a plane and visit Italy myself. Service was fast and though it may be a bit pricey, totally worth it.
