This was a very interesting to say the least encounter with Darrel. This extremely weird odd ball…read morecharacter shows up at our house to train our 2 dogs. As we begin to talk to Darrel, we begin to analyze and evaluate the person standing in our house due to his strange/ eccentric behavior and his way of speaking. There was an immediate concern and red flags began to go up in the beginning of our conversation. We were very concerned right out of the gate but we wanted to see where this conversation would take us. First we would like to say that Darrel tried to use a shock collar without our permission on our golden. I immediately stated to him "No Shock Collar as we do not condone fear training!" This is not humane nor recommended to build trust. Darrel asked if could take our golden down the sidewalk. I gave him the lead. Darrel began to pull our golden down the sidewalk slowly. Darrel then switched our halter lead for his Choke leash. Darrel then began to pull our golden with the choke leash. Our golden began to choke violently. I immediately spoke up and said "No More.. We're Done!" Darrel pulled upwards hard on the choke leash to get our golden to sit. This is extremely dangerous to the wind pipe of any dog so is not recommended. Hurting the dog is never an acceptable training method. His training methods are flawed and fear based. We didn't get a good vibe from Darrel at all. Also he asked to bring his dog into our home which is strange in itself. Needless to say won't be using his services. People.. please be aware of who you hire for training your pet.

We highly recommend Darrel the dog trainer at Attention Dog Training!…read more We adopted a rescue dog, a typical stubborn Shiba Inu. When she became aggressive toward our older dog, we thought about taking her back to the shelter, but decided to try calling Darrel. I'm so glad we did! He had her behaving by the end of our first lesson, and she got better and better over the next month of working with her weekly. His calm demeanor is catching, and dogs respond so well. He also taught us a few tricks! After a mini-bootcamp, she was a different dog. Our two girls get along now, and we don't have to worry. If you want quick and lasting help with your doggo, don't hesitate to call Darrel.

The experience we had from start to finish was impressive... I started my search online for a dog…read moretrainer to get my puppy off to a great start. Potty training would be first. I called Florida Dog Trainer and one other local business. The first local business (who's name I will not mention) was kind and offered some tips and even sent me information via email to help potty train my pup. Great. However my emails went unanswered and my questions went unanswered.... Soon after our conversation and they sent me a potty training manual... When I called Florida Dog trainer late one weekend evening, I left a message on the voicemail system... immediately the next day I receive a call and am unable to answer... after some back and forth phone tag we finally connected. Florida Dog Trainer stayed on me and stayed in touch. Which I so desperately needed and did not know at the time... the day Pat was scheduled to come and train with us... it was a BUSY frazzled day... she allowed me to move back the appointment time TWICE with no attitude and completely understanding... she noticed in my tone that I was under a lot of stress and tried to help me relax and even offered to move it to a later time if needed.. she KNEW I needed her BADLY! Omg... thank you Pat. She came over and spent 2 hours with us and went over everything we needed to know. My stress is less now.. my puppy is not crying in the middle of the night when it's time for sleep and he's in the kennel... it's relieving to know there's people who cares about us, our well being and getting this done right the first time (sometimes it takes a few tries...right..) I was overwhelmed with the new puppy on top of my other obligations. Pat with Florida Dog Trainers out of Montverde Florida, came and HELPED me... TRUST the process and give them a call. Simple things I was doing on my own for two weeks, thinking it was helping was not.... She showed me techniques and walked me through how to execute them. She provided me with some goodies and reading information to help me be more informed and keep up the "training". She also checks in on us to see how things are going. She will return if we need her to. Which I doubt we do... she's thought us quite a bit so we can now help ourselves :) I can't say enough GREAT things about this lady and this company Florida Dog Trainer.

I talked to John on the phone about the type of training he thought she would need. Just through the phone conversation I learned a lot about what he was able to do for our family but also for my pup. He gave me some advice over the phone that I could start practicing with her. Even though my zip code was a few miles out of what their website says they cover, he still was willing to travel down to my house for training. He has a package of 3 initial trainings(which he says is usually all most people need) and then additional ones if needed. I was looking around at petco/petsmart trainings but they did not seem like they'd be helpful since theres only one person with up to like 5 dogs and the things they were teaching seemed like stuff I could just find online myself. After our first hour and a half of private session and consultation, my little Ellie has shown tremendous( if not the most I've seen in this short amount of time) improvement! I also actually have a structure of a training regimen I can practice with her now until the next two sessions which are flexible in timing. ALSO, he brought toys, treats, and chews for Ellie to use for her training and to keep afterwards! Great surprise! HIGHLY recommend their in home training with John. He has extensive knowledge on training and understands the way dog's minds work and how they communicate which is very important when bonding and training your dog. It is also private 1 on 1 training so the whole hour and a half is all focused on your dog and it's needs unlike the retail store training. It is all positive reinforcement training so nothing negative! I am already confident that this was worth the time and money only after our first session and about as much as I would've spent on the petco or petsmart training! Sure it is half the amount of classes I'd be getting but the quality covers down. Not trying to knock the big chains, but the training just isn't the best out there. TIP: the phone # on their website was out of service as of 5/18/18 so I'd use their contact section to leave a message and they will call or email you back within a few days

I called and found out that Kayleigh had already left the store. I took my dog for the basic bath package + deshedding (additional $30); I was told to return in 2 hours and that I would also receive a text message that my dog would be ready. Two hours later, I still had not received a text, so I drove to the store and arrived there 2 hours and 15 minutes after I dropped him off. When I got there, I saw my dog thru the glass window (he saw me, too). About five minutes later, he was brought out; I paid and drove home. I just vacuumed the carpet at my home the day prior, but I noticed clumps of loose hair again. I checked my dog and noticed on his left and right side there's a 4-inch wide area that runs from the shoulder to his tail, as if someone ran a mower (perhaps the deshedding brush). I didn't notice it when I picked him up because he was still kinda wet, but when his coat dried, it's very visible. The next day, we went out for a drive - hair was flying all over that I had immediately vacuum the car when we got home. I gave him a bath using a rubber mit that has rubber studs on the palm side. I removed a tremendous amount of hair that it clogged the bathtub. I felt cheated, and the groomer did NOT even bother telling me that the deshedding was not completed. UNSATISFACTORY!

I have purchased prescription cat food here for years using a photo of my prescription barcode on my phone. This has never been an issue. Ever. Tonight, Shelly, the General Manager, refused the purchase and claimed that "additional paperwork" is required and that this has "always been the rule." That statement is flatly untrue. This store has repeatedly accepted the same barcode without question. The system accepted it. The staff accepted it. The store accepted it. Claiming otherwise is either incompetence or a deliberate misrepresentation of policy, neither is acceptable from a GM. If policies have changed, that's fine. Say so. If corporate has tightened requirements, also fine. Explain it. What is not fine is making up a history that never existed to avoid accountability. This is not about confusion or misunderstanding. It is about a manager choosing to double down on a false claim rather than acknowledge reality or verify prior transactions. I expect better from management.
