I have been very happy with Vetco Total Care with my dogs. Their recorder and service on the phone is not something I use. If I want to get in sooner it is wise to go to Petco Redlands and talk to the technician in person and she will get you in faster than using the phone. I have had several dogs taken care of and they are very good in taking the time to see and give them the care that is needed. Along with several options in taking care of the dogs. You have to be flexible, you don't know what cases are being taken care and when there is one vet is available, the office has to handle the most severe cases, if it was your animal you would want them to take care of it. Love love love this Vetco. Although Dr. Pagel is my favorite vet, Dr. Wilson is pretty awesome too. I have a pack of five dogs, used to be 6 :( When my dog, Maple, passed away, the staff mailed me a handwritten letter signed by all the staff. It had my husband and I in tears as she was my soul dog. Unfortunately, there was nothing anyone could do to save her. But in the time she was alive, I had full faith that she was in great hands. The vet also had a dog with Cushings Disease so she understood the complexities. I have a very difficult senior rescue dog, Bobby, that came to me traumatized. Not only does everyone treat him with love and care, but he even has a favorite vet tech, Lyna. I love seeing Melanie too! She always makes us feel comfortable. They're also the ONLY people that he will allow to trim his nails. I trust them not only with my pack, but I also bring some of the dogs I rescue here too. read more

I only scheduled an appointment here because both of our regular veterinarians were fully booked and my dog needed to be seen quickly for an ear infection. My dog is a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois who has been going to the same vets since she was a puppy and normally does VERY well during visits. Unfortunately, the customer service and overall handling of my dog at this location was very disappointing. At our regular veterinary clinic, the staff always take a moment to greet my dog first, lets her sniff their hands, and help her feel comfortable since she is the patient. Here, both the technician and the doctor came into the room and immediately began trying to handle and examine her without taking any time to introduce themselves to her or build any level of trust. Because of that, my dog quickly became nervous and uneasy. At the follow-up appointment, the same technician entered the room abruptly and when my dog growled out of fear, she responded by saying, "Oh, you're not nice." Not only was that comment unprofessional and unnecessary, but she also used words my dog actually recognizes as negative trigger words associated with bad people ("not nice"). Instead of attempting to calmly work with a nervous dog, it felt like my dog was immediately labeled as a problem. The overall bedside manner and approach toward both my dog and me felt rushed and dismissive. Instead of taking a moment to build trust and make the environment less stressful, the interaction only made things worse. The next morning (due to a cancellation), I was able to take my dog back to our regular vet, where the staff greeted her warmly, handled her with patience, and the visit went perfectly--as it always does. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend going to a standalone veterinary clinic instead. Compassion, patience, and proper handling make a huge difference when it comes to veterinary care, and unfortunately that was not our experience here. Most importantly, trust your dog's cues--they know when something isn't right and know exactly how to communicate to you. read more

I will start up by saying that both doctors are very pleasant and we've had good experiences with both of them. I normally don't post bad reviews. That being said, the office policies and practices are unbelievable, and the reason that we will unfortunately no longer be coming to this Vetco. The other review from a year ago was right!! We scheduled two appointments for our 2 cats at 5 PM specifically choosing a longer slot a building our whole week around this visit given that I work as a doctor in an outpatient clinic and at times work 80 hours per week. Vetco sends a text to confirm the appointment with no mention that your timeslot will be given up if you do not reply quick enough to that text. They say they call but we don't have any calls missed. Additionally the text was days prior to the appointment - if we received a message this morning or at any point saying we'd lose the visit we would have replied. We showed up to our appointment 10 minutes early as instructed and we were told that not only had our timeslot been given away for one cat, but that they had unlisted the other cats appointment and were now too busy to see them. I have never been to a single office in which an appointment is unlisted hours in advance (they unlisted it in the morning they said) even if the patient arrives on time or early like we did. For example, at the outpatient clinic I work at I will see patients up until at least 15 minutes after their appointment time, sometimes later depending on their concern. The second issue is that while we had booked a wellness visit, they said that they would be unable to see this patient for a wellness visit because we had one concern - an itchy face. I doubt that most people who come for an annual physical have zero concerns at all. A heads up to anyone reading this - if you have any questions they will change your visit to a sick visit. The doctors here deserve a better clinic to work at, but in the meantime we won't be coming here again. I recommend Vetco at the very least clarifies their appointment confirmation wording if they don't want people leaving bitter and frustrated. Worse experience for me and puppy! I will never go to Vetco and would not recommend anyone to go. Last I looked at Zelp reviews for Vetco in San Bernardino they had bad ratings (somehow all ratings are gone from Zelp now) but I thought out of location convenience and an attitude of "second chances" I would take my puppy for his first appointment and try for myself. How bad can it be I said. First of all the receptionist was unwelcoming and downright rude to me. We have been there several times now and same nonchalant attitude to us and others in line. Whatever time you have an appointment it makes no difference you will wait and wait and wait in the lobby and more waiting in the exam room for anyone to attend. I made a return appointment (thinking things would be better) and when I arrived on time apparently she had cancelled our appointment and gave someone else our appointment time. She literally told me to wait until others were seen first. What! She couldn't/wouldn't tell me how long of a wait. Her demeanor and delivery is mean and nasty! I don't have room to comment on the bedside manner of the Vet. I will never return. Word to the wise! read more

While I know it is not the staff's fault, the way this office operates is just ridiculous and I would greatly discourage anyone else from choosing this vet. My partner and I have two cats. I booked a week out for all the end of day appointments I could- wellness visit for one cat who needs an update on vaccines, and a sick visit for my other cat. Both booked for 5 pm. These are the latest appointment times available on the website. I received a text on Friday with the information and asking me to confirm my appointment, which I didn't do assuming that they just confirmed the times and I didn't need to make any changes. Apparently this means they free up the appointments. We arrived early for our appointment to find that the sick visit was booked by someone else, but we tried to get them to see the one cat who just needs the wellness visit. Despite this spot being open they are running too far behind and refuse to see her. My partner works 80 hour weeks as a pediatric resident and I currently have an injury that means I cannot that them in alone. We rearranged our whole weekend around this visit and were just barely able to make it work. They didn't even notify me of the cancelled appointments. Just find somewhere else. read more

Horrible service!! They take way too long, I just need rabies shot for my dog and it's taking them 1 hour to just give him on shot this is ridiculous and then charging me a 60 dollar check up when we didn't come in for it! Never come in here for the vet! read more
