My five year old frenchie seemed to be having some pain and just wasn't herself…read more Our regular vet recommended we come here so we did It's an emergency hospital so let me first say that I do in fact understand and appreciate how these places work so when I state my wait time you need to know that my pet was fully stable and even comfortable waiting We hung out in the car-she napped and we waited about 6 hours but they were very busy with animal control cases and very sick pets We saw a tech in triage for vitals who was just so kind and sweet to our girl She was patient and gave me time even to settle a bit as she took info about why we were there and her history The front desk associates were all great as well Compassionate and kind as they handled crying and stressed owners Very kind and patient The place itself is clean and inviting Almost looked like my UC I go to myself There is plenty of waiting space and a coffee bar and clean restrooms The doctor had wonderful bedside manner and was thorough. Dr Hidd if I'm not mistaken? She was kind to my girl but most of all was thorough and I felt good about the plan leaving daisy helped us with our meds and discharge and she was also so kind and thorough It's a great place if you need emergency care Pricing was very fair also in my opinion for exams and meds -luckily we did not have any imaging costs etc but I was ready and willing for that Great experience

Absolutely terrible experience at Veterinary Emergency Center of Redlands…read more I brought my 1-year-old cat here around 11 PM after he had vomited four times, including blood and blood clots. I was also concerned he may have been exposed to lilies, which are extremely toxic to cats. As you can imagine, I was terrified and expecting emergency care. Before my cat was even properly evaluated, I was charged for an exam fee, a poison control consultation fee, and a Parvo test that I was confident he did not need. By the time everything was said and done, I had already spent hundreds of dollars before getting any real answers. I was told the wait would be approximately 2-4 hours. I understood it was an emergency hospital and was fully prepared to wait. What I was NOT prepared for was spending over 9 hours there while my cat sat sick and vomiting. It took roughly 6 hours before he was even properly seen. The most frustrating part was that when the veterinarian finally came to speak with me, it seemed like there had been little to no communication regarding why I brought my cat in. I had repeatedly expressed concerns about possible lily toxicity, yet I felt like we were starting from square one. Shortly after, I was presented with an estimate of roughly $4,500. At that point, I was beyond frustrated. It genuinely felt like the priority was my wallet rather than my cat. I agreed only to bloodwork, IV fluids, and anti-nausea medication because I had already decided I would seek care elsewhere the following day. Throughout the night, I could hear staff talking and socializing in the back while I sat there worried sick about my cat. Multiple times I felt ignored when asking for updates or assistance. To make matters worse, I overheard comments suggesting it was "not smart" of me to decline the recommended treatment plan. After sitting there all night, being quoted thousands of dollars, and feeling completely unheard, that was the last thing I needed. I understand veterinary medicine is expensive. I understand emergency hospitals get busy. What I don't understand is charging people hundreds of dollars upfront, making them wait all night, failing to communicate effectively, and then acting judgmental when they cannot or choose not to approve a $4,500 treatment plan. My cat was the one suffering, and I left feeling like nobody gave a damn until it was time to discuss money.
