We took our dog Nina to get a dental quote. When calling to schedule it July 17 we were told the quote wasn't valid anymore although the paperwork says it expires 7/24/25 which was not for another week. We were told it's only valid for 30 days, however that should have been written down. We thought we had time since the document we received said so. We received a new quote over the phone because "prices went up". The new quote skyrocketed to 1800-2200 which is why it was important for them to have documented the quote was only valid for 30 days so we could have scheduled within that timeframe. I will say the vet techs and veterinarian are wonderful here.

Is there a certified avian vet?

    Does this hospital treat snakes?

Two of the veterinarians on staff do.

    Do they deal with rats?

I do not know for certain. However, considering how extensive the facility is, and they promote "small and large animal medicine," I would be surprised if they didn't. Here's the contact page: https://banningvet.com/contact-us/

The level of compassion, the patience, the fairness in pricing--it almost felt too good to be true. The second visit confirmed it wasn't a fluke. And now, after our third visit, I can confidently say: this place is truly special. I brought in my sweet chocolate lab, Blue, who was dealing with a pretty bad ear infection. From the moment we walked in, the care and attention we received were on another level. Derek took the time to thoroughly clean and flush her ears--not rushed, not careless, but gentle and intentional. He even showed me how to properly do it myself at home, which I appreciated more than I can say. That kind of education and transparency is rare. Then the doctor--Dr. A (last name started with a Z, I wish I remembered it better)--absolutely blew me away. Instead of jumping straight into the exam, he took the time to connect with Blue first. He recognized immediately that she's a sensitive girl and doesn't love strangers. So what did he do? He got down on the floor with her. He talked calmly, gave her space, and let her come to him. Within minutes, she went from anxious and panting to calm and trusting. I've never seen anything like it. He was then able to examine her completely--from nose to tail--without stress, without force, without fear. That alone speaks volumes about his skill and character. What also meant a lot to me is that he took the time to listen to everything I had to say--even my more holistic approaches (as my husband jokingly calls it, my "hocus pocus"). He didn't dismiss me. He respected me. He explained things clearly and made me feel confident that my dog is in great health overall. He also had an honest conversation with me about the risks of not spaying at her age, but in a respectful way--no pressure, no judgment. They truly respect your choices as an owner while still giving you the information you need. That balance is rare. At a time when so many places feel rushed, transactional, and overpriced, this clinic is the complete opposite. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, and fair. I am beyond grateful to have found them. Bleu is already feeling better, and I feel better knowing she's in such good hands.

The first doctor thought it was a spider bite or some kind of salivary gland issue. He aspirated the lump and sent us home with antibiotics. He sent the aspirated material to a lab. After several days of not hearing back from them I called back to check what my dogs lab results were. Finally, a different doctor called and was able to give me the results. They scheduled my dog two different times for surgery. The first time they were unable to do it so they gave my dog another round of antibiotics for the time being. The second time the manager Bella, scheduled my dog for an abscess removal which the doctor could not do in the short time frame that was offered. They didn't figure this out until after my dog was sedated. At this point, my dog has been sedated two times and the vet bills are piling up and she still has the lump on her neck with no diagnosis or treatment. After going back-and-forth with the staff, we he decided to go somewhere else. I asked for my dogs medical records and they would not give them to me. I waited over a week to get them. Every time I called to check on the documents the manager was busy or was not there, supposedly. If I asked one of the other staff if there was somebody else higher up in the office I can speak to they said "No, this manager was the only person I could speak to." When I asked "Well who is the owner of the vet? Can I speak to them? " They would say "I don't know ." The staff were always rude and dismissive. I was finally able to get my dog checked out at Calimesa Vet Clinic where they diagnosed her and performed surgery the same day! Turns out she had a foxtail stuck in her neck, that is what caused the lump. They were able to figure out what was wrong with my dog in one day when these vets couldn't figure it out in two months. This is a GREEDY vet establishment. We spent $1,300 for ABSOLUTELY nothing.

Absolutely terrible experience at Veterinary Emergency Center of Redlands…read more I brought my 1-year-old cat here around 11 PM after he had vomited four times, including blood and blood clots. I was also concerned he may have been exposed to lilies, which are extremely toxic to cats. As you can imagine, I was terrified and expecting emergency care. Before my cat was even properly evaluated, I was charged for an exam fee, a poison control consultation fee, and a Parvo test that I was confident he did not need. By the time everything was said and done, I had already spent hundreds of dollars before getting any real answers. I was told the wait would be approximately 2-4 hours. I understood it was an emergency hospital and was fully prepared to wait. What I was NOT prepared for was spending over 9 hours there while my cat sat sick and vomiting. It took roughly 6 hours before he was even properly seen. The most frustrating part was that when the veterinarian finally came to speak with me, it seemed like there had been little to no communication regarding why I brought my cat in. I had repeatedly expressed concerns about possible lily toxicity, yet I felt like we were starting from square one. Shortly after, I was presented with an estimate of roughly $4,500. At that point, I was beyond frustrated. It genuinely felt like the priority was my wallet rather than my cat. I agreed only to bloodwork, IV fluids, and anti-nausea medication because I had already decided I would seek care elsewhere the following day. Throughout the night, I could hear staff talking and socializing in the back while I sat there worried sick about my cat. Multiple times I felt ignored when asking for updates or assistance. To make matters worse, I overheard comments suggesting it was "not smart" of me to decline the recommended treatment plan. After sitting there all night, being quoted thousands of dollars, and feeling completely unheard, that was the last thing I needed. I understand veterinary medicine is expensive. I understand emergency hospitals get busy. What I don't understand is charging people hundreds of dollars upfront, making them wait all night, failing to communicate effectively, and then acting judgmental when they cannot or choose not to approve a $4,500 treatment plan. My cat was the one suffering, and I left feeling like nobody gave a damn until it was time to discuss money.

Headline: Life-Threatening Negligence and Fraudulent Charting - Do Not Trust This Clinic…read moreI am writing this as a medical professional who had to perform my own clinical audit to save my dog from this office's incompetence. My dog, Twinkie, was failed by Dr. Mean and her staff on multiple levels: 1. Fraudulent Documentation & Lack of Physical Exam: The records claim Dr. Mean performed a heart exam on Twinkie. This is a blatant lie; she never even touched my dog. Furthermore, a covering vet performed a suture removal but failed to document any of the clinical concerns we raised. Vitals that were taken by a tech on an intake form were never entered into the formal medical record. 2. Misdiagnosis & Dangerous Over-Medication: Despite Twinkie showing clear signs of anaphylaxis right in front of the staff, they "shrugged it off" and insisted she was having syncope (fainting) due to heart failure. Without proper diagnostics, they jumped straight to a heavy cocktail of Enalapril and Vetmedin and Furosemide. 3. Intentional Withholding of Records: I believe this office intentionally stalled sending my records to the cardiologist. Once they realized a specialist would be reviewing their "work," they likely realized they had jumped the gun. Because they failed to provide the records, I had to act as my own investigator. 4. The Proof is in the Recovery: After connecting the dots myself, I realized the Enalapril was dropping her blood pressure below baseline and the Furosemide was dangerously dehydrating her. I made the clinical decision to stop the medications. Within 24 hours of being off their "treatment," Twinkie was back to her old self--active and barking. A subsequent exam by a different, competent veterinarian confirmed she is healthy, her heart is fine, and she never needed the medication. Final Word: If I hadn't used my own medical background to challenge their narrative, their "treatment" for a non-existent heart condition would have killed my dog. Their clinical notes are vague, their charting is dishonest, and their diagnostic skills are non-existent. Go elsewhere.
