My dog developed a large mass on the side of his neck, which grew rapidly. I took him to the vet as…read moresoon as I noticed it. They referred me to a specialist. I got second opinion from another vet and they also said to find a specialist. I was told he would need CT scans, ultrasounds, and surgery. I was overwhelmed and desperately trying to set up the earliest appointments I could get for him. But within that time, it continued to grow. Within a week and a half it went from the size of a golf ball, to the size of a grapefruit. I felt like I wasn't getting the immediate help my dog needed. That's when we came to AEC and met with Dr. Melissa. She had the confidence and experience to perform a procedure on my dog that was absolutely necessary and as a result, she saved him from a great deal of pain, and me from a great deal of panic. (Not to mention thousands of dollars). Melissa introduced herself to my dog so he could became familiar with her. Then she explained to me what she would do, what she was looking for, and what would happen next. All before she took him to the back of the clinic. After the initial check she came back with more details, explanations, and information about the next steps she would take. One thing I greatly appreciated is that Melissa gave me an estimated time as to how long the procedure MIGHT take, but she emphasized that an extended wait time did NOT mean something had gone wrong. That helped settle my anxiety and keep me from watching the clock too closely. I admire emergency physicians and everyone in this field so much. They have to treat traumatic and urgent situations while also balancing their compassion for the animals they are helping. Melissa walks that line with kindness and integrity. She trusts her intuition and seemingly puts herself in the position of her patients. As a result, she provides them with not only the most comprehensive and quality care, she also provides them with a great deal of comfort. One month later, I'm sitting on the couch next to my HEALTHY dog writing a review for this amazing doctor, Melissa. We are so grateful for you! I want to wrap this review up by acknowledging and praising the entire staff at the AEC. My interactions with the receptionists were particularly wonderful. One of them even helped me carry my still somewhat sedated, nearly 80 pound dog through the ice and snow in order to safely get him in my car! If you're having an emergency and need an exceptional doctor, a clean and calming clinic, with the kindest and most compassionate staff, this is where you need to go.

The front staff is kind and goes out of their way to be helpful. VetSelect consistently goes over treatment options and they NEVER try to encourage unnecessary expenses!!! I read one reviewer that said the clinic gave "unnecessary" treatment. I can honestly state that the treatment is thoroughly explained in layman's terms with clinical rational and I always have had to clearly agreed to it before it is given. Many times Dr Sayles and explained why certain options are not required and would be an unnecessary expense. I have complete confidence that Dr. Sayles and the whole VetSect staff has always had my dogs' best interest in mind. VetSelect is also very connected with the Veterinarian community and will refer to any specialist your pet may need. Both of my dogs have chronic health issues and Dr. Sayles has always put them on a treatment plan that has kept them healthy. One of my dogs has a rare condition, Adrenal X disease. Dr. Sayles spent a great deal of is own time researching various resources to find the best therapy to treat the effects of the disease. He consulted with cutting edge Veterinary schools and found natural supplements that has saved us hundreds of dollars over time but most importantly, has reversed the symptoms for my fur baby. I also have to give a shout out to Lindsey for all the love and special care she gives us!

Do not come here! You will be overcharged and gaslit into paying way more than what was promised…read more I brought my cat in for a basic wellness check up and their website CLEARLY advertised first time visitors pay $25 for a basic wellness exam. When I tried mentioning it to the nurse that did intake she immediately brushed it off and mentioned the doctor will be in shortly. We get to the end of a very very basic exam, checking teeth, heart, weight, eyes tells she she's in good health and we go upfront to pay. They hit me with a $50 fee for the exam which I clarified about the deal and they just didn't care. I pulled up their OWN website and read them the deal and they still didn't care. I told the girls at the front desk that I felt this was a bait and switch and extremely dishonest, and they smiled at me and said "restrictions apply" and that "we know it's confusing we've asked corporate to change that" so that tells me I'm not the first person this has happened to. Cool, if you're business wants to do bait and switches and be dishonest to new clients then I won't ever be doing business with you again, and I'll personally do my part to get the word out that you're robbing people point blank. That's not how you give good service, that's not how you treat customers, shame on all of you

Dr. Gill comes back and recommends a set of X-rays, and a full blood workup ($$). I agree, but ask the vet tech to run the x-ray first to rule out the obvious and hen run the blood. She says sure, no problem. Then comes back 10 minutes later and tells me it'll be 30 minutes before the blood tests are done. I confirm, yes they drew and the Dr "thought it best to run both". OK, first strike. So I go sit in my car waiting the allotted time with my sick puppy. I get a call about 25 minutes later, asking if I plan to come back in for the results. I said, I'm in the parking lot. Kind of rude, so second strike. Then the Dr goes over his results, and tells me that next options are a barium test $$, Ultrasound $$$, or exploratory surgery $$$$. Before I decide, I ask her why she ordered the blood work before we had a chance to review the X-rays. She then lies to my face, and tells me she "came out to talk to me, but I was gone." Third and final strike. No way they're touching my puppy! So I pay, and ask for a copy of my records and mention my disappointment to the woman at the counter. I simply state I'll pay, but I need a copy of my records for the next vet in case of an emergency and I won't be coming back because of what just happened. Another tech comes up and asks what's wrong; she tells her "oh, he's mad we ran the blood without asking him"! I offer, no, I'm just disappointed. She doubles down, oh he's just mad". How rude, I wasn't mad - but I sure am now. Please, do yourself and your fur baby a solid. Go anywhere but here. They don't care about pets, they care about money. And lack even simple, common, human decency. And to top it off, maybe they could spend a little more time cleaning the rooms between patients.
