I had a very poor experience with VEG. My dog was seen by an intern vet who got my dog's X-ray mixed up with a cat and reassured me she was fine. Gave me no other information and delayed giving me prescriptions for her. I was told they didn't have it in stock and I came back 3 days later for a written prescription they could have been able to give me day of. The doctor overseeing her never came and blew me off when I tried to ask questions. My dog got worse and died shortly later I was distraught and called to speak to the medical director. Addy picked up the phone and she was nice, and she connected me with Dr. Melanie Bowden who seems empathetic and competent. Despite a reasonable conversation with the medical director, I believe management is only as strong as the providers and the quality of care delivered to patients on the floor.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! While we didn't have a life-threatening emergency, our dog slipped before going down the stairs and had been limping, crying, and shaking all day. We decided to bring her in, and I'm so glad we did for several reasons: 1. We now have a local emergency vet we'll absolutely return to. 2. She received medication for her pain. 3. Everyone was so kind and professional. I honestly wish they had a primary care section, too, because in the 3.5 years we've had Mochi, we've never received better care from any vet. Thank you to everyone who worked with Mochi tonight--it clearly took a team, and my husband and I are incredibly grateful. I was so anxious because this was the first time in Mochi's 3.5 years alive that she needed emergency care, so it was a first for all of us. I've already texted my sister and best friend, who both have dogs, to recommend this clinic if they're ever in need of an emergency vet. Overall, I can't recommend this emergency vet enough. From the compassionate care Mochi received to the professionalism of the entire team, the experience far exceeded our expectations. It's a huge relief to know we have a trusted place to turn to in the future. Thank you again for making a stressful situation so much easier--we are so grateful!

This vet ER is kind, compassionate and professional. They took the absolute best care of my dog when she got a bad laceration that needed sutures. Thank you to everyone on the team there!

Clean, organized, professional and efficient best in class pet urgent and emergent care!

This is our new go to destination for pet urgent and emergency care. It is exactly as their website describes. Not the usual "pet hospital" experience, which is a very very good thing. The entire VEG is not only attentive - they are very caring, genuinely. For the pets, and the people. Pet care takes place where pets prefer it, on the floor (beds upon request), on raised care platforms, or in private rooms. And there are snacks (for people and pets), cold water, coffee, etc. The triage is amazing - so efficient. Pets never leave your eyes, always within reach (unless you prefer to not be there, you are there as an active part of the care experience). They demonstrated compassion, efficiency, and also strong expertise. Costs are fair/reasonable and disclosed upfront. The vibe inside is caring, positive, and committed to the important tasks at hand. I really love this place. If 10 stars was an option - they would have all 10. Thanks VEG for reinventing urgent/emergent pet care, in a very good way! All of the dogs and cats were in good hands and also in good spirits, as were their people parents.

    Stressed Ev, but comfortable!

I can't say enough good things about this ER. We've been to others but this one stands out. First thing I said when I walked in was that reminded me of the show The Pitt but with animals. We ended up here on a Saturday night because our pup had intestinal issues. She is a lab and is afraid of shiny floors and immediately they brought us a blanket and got us a private room, recognizing her fear. Each employee sat on the floor with her and you could see that they all loved dogs. Every single person we interacted with was kind and empathetic. They offered water, hot cocoa anything we need it. They kept us in the same room as our dog the entire time other than an x-ray. They were transparent and kind. We ended up back there the next day and had the same wonderful experience. We will definitely be back. Amazing!!

We unexpectedly lost our beautiful old girl, Rocks. The staff were all fantastically caring and compassionate, complete with a personalized sympathy card. Rocks collapsed in our yard, seemingly out of the blue. The team looked at her right away. An ultrasound revealed bad news and they gently suggested to us it was time to say goodbye. They put us in a private room and gave us all the time we needed to process the news. They even waited after she had passed for my husband to go get our other senior dog so he could also say goodbye. I can't recommend this place enough for any furr kid emergency.

No more raccoon fights please... I block the dog door at night now.

Your response also makes it sound like my family was much later than they were, which misrepresents the situation --it's about how someone from your clinic later mischaracterized me to another provider. Framing a loyal client as a "problem" felt discriminatory and unprofessional. If it weren't for this, no one would have been upset. 2. My parents were turned away immediately after arriving, and I received no phone call, email, or follow-up offering care or rescheduling. I believe you had the kind intention to extend the schedule, but your intention doesn't match what actually happened. 3. I'll let future clients decide based on their own experience. ------------------------ I honestly wanted to give one star here--but I know there are good vets working at this clinic. One of them took great care of my cat, and I truly adore her, so I'm giving two. I was a loyal client for 2 years with mostly positive experiences--until I asked my parents to take my cat in for a visit. They speak basic English and brought translation tools, and I had emailed and called ahead to make sure it would be okay. Despite that, they were turned away at the appointment. I didn't complain and simply switched clinics--until my new vet "cat&dog clinic at Bellevue" told me that someone from this clinic contacted to "warn" them about me, without my knowledge. What kind of warning is that? That a long-time client who communicated in advance and asked her non-native-English-speaking family to help just ONCE? It sounds so bizarre and unnecessary --unless it was just gossiping. But gossip leaning on a discriminatory narrative? Either way, it felt unprofessional and frankly disrespectful. It was disappointing to see such exclusionary behavior from a healthcare provider. If you just value basic cultural respect, I'd think twice before coming here.

My first visit to the vet was quite concerning. My cat hadn't eaten or used the litter box for 12 hours since vomited, so I brought him in. They recommended an anti-nausea shot and IV fluids. When my cat was returned, I noticed blood spots on the technician's nose. He denied my cat bled, but another technician later confirmed he did bleed a little. Why would the first technician lie? Second visit: 12 hours later, I brought my cat back because he wasn't getting any better. It was almost midnight, and they told us we'd have to wait 2 to 4 hours for an X-ray. My cat also got another fluid injection while we waited, plus some sedative for the scan. Hours later, the vet said there was some unidentifiable object in his middle abdomen that wasn't blocking anything, and he had a really low white blood cell count and a fever. It was almost 1 AM, and everyone was exhausted, but the way the vet explained things made me so worried, especially when he brought up pancreatitis. I wish he could've just said it simply so I could understand and not freak out so much. My cat was sent home again, with antibiotics for the fever and another 12 hours of monitoring.. My poor cat was so stressed and scared after his visit, he even hid when we got home and peed himself! I can't imagine what he went through or saw behind those closed doors, it was so unnecessarily stressful for everyone. Thankfully, he used his litter box and ate a little later that night.

I've had a great experience there and I thought all these VCA hospitals are the same.. boy I was wrong. First they made me fill out the new patient form again like they didn't get anything from our old VCA. Then the doc was trying to sell me all sorts of expensive tests. Even the fecal test wasn't included (it was included for my new patient exam at the old VCA location). They wanted to charge me almost $700-800 by adding unnecessary food in the list. I've checked on Amazon and their price is almost $10 higher than Amazon per item lol. I asked them to get the fecal test (they charged $90 before tax, while avg pricing is $20-$50) and blood test since it is why I came here for, but they added the urine test (cystocentesis) without my consent and I had to pay $83 on top of what I agreed to pay. Mind you the median cost for that is only $26. Did I mention the dr. Jennie Shih tried to ask me to take my cat back for dental cleaning? Honestly, these ppl aren't vets.. they are salespeople !!! I just don't think they care about animals.. I just can't feel it. Also she just told me sometimes cats are allergic to certain protein, basically everything that I already know. I learned nothing there yet that costs $103 after the new patient coupon of $20. But that's ok since vets usually charge you over $100 by touching your pets. *Shrug* This place just wants to rob you, and honestly they just want to pay your pets without actually curing them lol. Find your doc elsewhere unless you have an emergency!!! I should have known when I could get an appointment the night before.. I've learned my lesson this time by paying a ton of money for a vet (probably more than the total that I've paid for in the past few years).

This review is about the neurology and oncology departments of the Animal Medical Center of…read moreSeattle. When my beloved cat Gigi suddenly lost mobility in her hind legs in early April, I was terrified. I reached out to multiple animal hospitals in the Seattle area to schedule an MRI. Dr. Chai-Fei Li, the neurologist and surgeon on Gigi's case, moved with remarkable speed and clarity. The moment I reached out to AMCS about Gigi's paralysis, Dr. Li's team scheduled an emergency MRI for the very next day. Dr. Li performed the MRI and immediately identified a tumor on Gigi's spinal cord and in her intestines that looked like lymphoma. Before proceeding to surgery, Dr. Li gave me a realistic and honest overview of the risks and possible outcomes--she didn't sugarcoat anything, but she also didn't rob us of hope. Two days after the MRI, she performed spinal surgery to decompress the spinal cord and stabilize Gigi's condition. That prompt intervention made all the difference. It gave Gigi her mobility back in her hind legs and gave me hope when I had none. What moved me most was Dr. Li's dedication after surgery. She came into the hospital every day to check in on Gigi--even on her days off. That level of care goes far beyond the job description. Following surgery, Dr. Brittany Evans took over Gigi's care as her treating oncologist. Dr. Evans designed a comprehensive treatment plan, combining chemotherapy, steroids, and supportive medications tailored to Gigi's specific needs. She walked me through different chemotherapy protocols in detail, explaining which one was best suited for Gigi's case and why. I deeply appreciated that Dr. Evans made sure I truly understood the treatment plan--not just the "what," but the "why" behind each decision. What struck me most was how seriously Dr. Evans and her team, especially Julie, took the whole picture: not just cancer, but Gigi's weight, appetite, hydration, and quality of life. Dr. Evans brought that same thoroughness to every conversation with me as a pet owner. Gigi responded beautifully to treatment. Dr. Evans and Julie remained accessible, patient with my questions, and genuinely invested in Gigi's recovery. While the diagnosis is very serious and the prognosis is poor, I'm taking it one day at a time, staying optimistic, and following the treatment plan. The care Gigi is receiving from the AMCS doctors gives me confidence that we're doing everything possible for her.
