I found Vera through a 6 week puppy training class being held at a local doggie daycare facility. Having had a bad experience with a 'stern' trainer with my first bulldog, I was admittedly a little leery, but that feeling was immediately put at ease as soon as I met her. Though there were 5 other dogs in the class Vera not only taught us as a group, but spent time with everyone individually working on whatever specific needs our dog had. She really tuned into each owner and their interaction with their dog. I also liked that she gave the dogs time to socialize with one another, which was great for my dog as she didn't have much exposure to other dogs at the time. After the course was over, Stella had a great grasp of the basics, but we were having a few issues unrelated to basic obedience at home. We contacted Vera and she immediately worked with us to find a time that accommodated our hectic schedules. We did 3 in home training sessions, and saw a difference after the very first one. She makes you see stuff through their eyes and points out things that you would normally overlook that really help the dog to learn. She gives you all these little pointers and tricks that make all the difference. Every aspect of her training is completely positivity based, which is huge to me as I consider my dog a member of our family. I would highly recommend Vera to anyone who is looking for a trainer. She truly cares about the well being of your dog and it's very important position in your family.

Mila was on morphine for pain and steroids to help her breathe, and throughout it all, Dr. Mary was there for us every step of the way. She checked in daily, came by frequently with medications, and always made time to see Mila in person. When it was time to say goodbye, I cannot stress enough how incredible Dr. Mary was -- not only with Mila but with our entire family. Her compassion, kindness, and gentle nature made an unbearable moment just a little more bearable. If you are caring for a sick pet, I cannot recommend Dr. Mary and Honored Hearts enough. These sweet animals are only treated by vets who treat "exotic animals," (i.e., not a cat or dog) and there aren't many of these vets. I needed to make an appointment for one of them to be seen. The immediate situation was not considered an emergency, but could turn fatal. Making an appointment for my pet was not an easy task. I was finally able to get an appointment yesterday, for today (approx 24 hours ago). As life goes, life happened. I was not going to be able to make the scheduled appointment, I found out 1.5 hrs before. I called to apologize and wanted to reschedule, my pet still REQUIRED care. I was informed that because I am a new client and need to "cancel" my appointment (I asked immediately to reschedule), that Dr. Binder has recently stopped allowing this. There is the 24 hour cancellation policy(yesterday, when they called me to make the appointment), also my appointment slot could not be "filled in time". Time for what? To recoup that lost 'new patient' fee? I asked if they would please double check with the doctor. I called back (1 hr later) to find out the answer. As the receptionist had explained earlier, the doctor said "no." I stated "this is important." The response given was "THERE ARE OTHER DOCTORS!" (rudely) It was difficult enough trying to find a vet that could treat exotic animals, let alone trying to schedule an appointment! It is obvious that they are NOT concerned with the welfare of every pet. "Compassionate care for your fur family" Straight from their webpage OBVIOUSLY that quote is questionable, if not just FALSE. Our cat loves her - Adriane comes by the apartment once a day to feed him, clean his litter and play with him, and always sends us pictures and emails to let us know he's doing okay while we're gone. Adriane's very knowledgeable about animals and has had great recommendations for any pet issues we've experienced (hair balls, wolfing down food, etc) and it's clear that she loves animals very much. Working with Adriane has been very easy - we communicate over email, she's happy to come by the apartment to pick up/drop off our keys before/after our trips, and has been available every time we've needed a cat sitter. Her daily rate is very reasonable as well! We're moving out of Cambridge in a few weeks and one of the things we'll miss the most is having Adriane to take care of our cat.
