. Having a 20 1/2 year old cat (above) means i am especially grateful to have Dr. Binder and her fabulous team at Cushing Square Veterinary!

I began asking Dr. Binder to care for my cats many years ago, before she was at Cushing Square. When she moved to Cushing Square, I followed. Throughout every interaction, I have experienced her excellent care, her compassion, and never once felt that money was her primary objective in caring for my pets. She has kept my cats healthy and strong and avoids unnecessary costs. Cushing Square is the best!

My family has had cats for more than 30 years. One of our cats was so afraid of vets and behaved so badly that she was close to being banned by a another vet in Belmont, but she could feel the love at Cushing Square and was a different kitty. We are so grateful to have Dr. Binder providing care. She is thoughtful about what is best for them and is willing to spend the time we need to make the best decisions. She always calls us back the same day.

Dr. Binder is wonderful, caring, warm, and can discuss issues and problems with a balance of risk vs. benefits.

Dr Binder called me the morning after our appointment and said she was up all night researching her illness.

Heal Veterinary Clinic - Happy Kona waiting for Dr. Kristie

Heal Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Kristie is everything you could want in a vet. She is kind and compassionate and patient. I've…read morebeen bringing Kona here for six years, since she was a puppy. I'm so happy to have found a low stress facility that is flexible with procedures and processes to make things less stressful for your pet. They don't have a waiting room so you go right to the exam room. You can also wait in the car until the vet is ready if your pet is particularly anxious at the vet. Additionally their exam rooms are very comfortable with couches and dog beds rather than exam tables and hard chairs. We love the staff and the clinic!

I have been taking my two dogs to Heal Veterinary Clinic for over seven years, and until now I had…read morenothing but positive things to say about my experiences there. Recently, I called to reschedule two appointments--one for June 29 at 8:00 a.m. for one of my dogs and another for July 10 for my other dog. On June 29, I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes from the North Shore to Watertown for the 8:00 a.m. appointment. When I arrived, I was told by the front desk that there was no appointment in their system and that they could not see my dog. It is possible that I missed the email confirmation, and if so, I accept responsibility for that. However, I know I scheduled the appointment over the phone, and what disappointed me most was not the scheduling error itself, but the complete lack of willingness to help resolve the situation. I explained how important the appointment was, yet the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than trying to accommodate us or offer a reasonable solution, she simply suggested that I come back a few hours later or on another day, despite the fact that I had just driven 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. I also felt that the staff made it seem as though the mistake was entirely mine. To make matters worse, I later learned that the July 10 appointment for my other dog had also been canceled without my knowledge or authorization. I never requested that it be canceled, and no one contacted me to confirm or notify me of this change. After being a loyal client for more than seven years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Because of this experience, I no longer feel I can trust this practice with my pets' care. My advice to anyone scheduling an appointment by phone is to ask for the name of the person you speak with. It may save you from making a long trip only to be told that your appointment does not exist.

From the moment we called ahead to say we were on our way, the staff were incredibly responsive and ready for us when we arrived. They quickly assessed the situation, diagnosed the issue, and carried out the necessary procedures. The clinic itself was very clean, welcoming, and well equipped. Dr. Estes explained everything clearly--what was happening, the prognosis, and what we should do next. The techs / nurses--Kim Nguyen, Kendra Baker, and Jennifer Ducharme--were also wonderful: professional, patient, and very caring. They were attentive throughout the entire process while our Pomeranian was undergoing sedation, and you could tell they genuinely cared. I'm sure they see situations like this every day, but they still treated our dog with the attention and care he needed. Small things like that matter. These are clearly very capable people who could work in many different fields--including human medicine--but they choose to care for pets, and it shows. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and would return again if needed. My one tip: call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.

Open space concept for procedures & surgery (!!) so you can be as involved as you want, with a small private room for me & the cat where much of her treatment and waiting happened. That reduced stress on her and we were never separated which I so appreciate. Her surgeon came up with plans A - C from least to most invasive . A failed, we moved on to B which worked beautifully so we avoided C = major surgery. I recommend VEG without reservation.
