Unreliable, cancelled twice in a row with very short notice. I wouldn't recommend for anything important.

I'm so happy to have found a low stress facility that is flexible with procedures and processes to make things less stressful for your pet. They don't have a waiting room so you go right to the exam room. You can also wait in the car until the vet is ready if your pet is particularly anxious at the vet. Additionally their exam rooms are very comfortable with couches and dog beds rather than exam tables and hard chairs. We love the staff and the clinic!

I have been taking my two dogs to Heal Veterinary Clinic for over seven years, and until now I had…read morenothing but positive things to say about my experiences there. Recently, I called to reschedule two appointments--one for June 29 at 8:00 a.m. for one of my dogs and another for July 10 for my other dog. On June 29, I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes from the North Shore to Watertown for the 8:00 a.m. appointment. When I arrived, I was told by the front desk that there was no appointment in their system and that they could not see my dog. It is possible that I missed the email confirmation, and if so, I accept responsibility for that. However, I know I scheduled the appointment over the phone, and what disappointed me most was not the scheduling error itself, but the complete lack of willingness to help resolve the situation. I explained how important the appointment was, yet the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than trying to accommodate us or offer a reasonable solution, she simply suggested that I come back a few hours later or on another day, despite the fact that I had just driven 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. I also felt that the staff made it seem as though the mistake was entirely mine. To make matters worse, I later learned that the July 10 appointment for my other dog had also been canceled without my knowledge or authorization. I never requested that it be canceled, and no one contacted me to confirm or notify me of this change. After being a loyal client for more than seven years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Because of this experience, I no longer feel I can trust this practice with my pets' care. My advice to anyone scheduling an appointment by phone is to ask for the name of the person you speak with. It may save you from making a long trip only to be told that your appointment does not exist.

I would give this clinic zero stars if it was possible. To…read morebegin with, I inherited a family of small mammals (8) that were going to be set loose to fend for themselves. These sweet animals are only treated by vets who treat "exotic animals," (i.e., not a cat or dog) and there aren't many of these vets. I needed to make an appointment for one of them to be seen. The immediate situation was not considered an emergency, but could turn fatal. Making an appointment for my pet was not an easy task. I was finally able to get an appointment yesterday, for today (approx 24 hours ago). As life goes, life happened. I was not going to be able to make the scheduled appointment, I found out 1.5 hrs before. I called to apologize and wanted to reschedule, my pet still REQUIRED care. I was informed that because I am a new client and need to "cancel" my appointment (I asked immediately to reschedule), that Dr. Binder has recently stopped allowing this. There is the 24 hour cancellation policy(yesterday, when they called me to make the appointment), also my appointment slot could not be "filled in time". Time for what? To recoup that lost 'new patient' fee? I asked if they would please double check with the doctor. I called back (1 hr later) to find out the answer. As the receptionist had explained earlier, the doctor said "no." I stated "this is important." The response given was "THERE ARE OTHER DOCTORS!" (rudely) It was difficult enough trying to find a vet that could treat exotic animals, let alone trying to schedule an appointment! It is obvious that they are NOT concerned with the welfare of every pet. "Compassionate care for your fur family" Straight from their webpage OBVIOUSLY that quote is questionable, if not just FALSE. Do not depend on them to do the right thing for your pet!

From the moment we called ahead to say we were on our way, the staff were incredibly responsive and ready for us when we arrived. They quickly assessed the situation, diagnosed the issue, and carried out the necessary procedures. The clinic itself was very clean, welcoming, and well equipped. Dr. Estes explained everything clearly--what was happening, the prognosis, and what we should do next. The techs / nurses--Kim Nguyen, Kendra Baker, and Jennifer Ducharme--were also wonderful: professional, patient, and very caring. They were attentive throughout the entire process while our Pomeranian was undergoing sedation, and you could tell they genuinely cared. I'm sure they see situations like this every day, but they still treated our dog with the attention and care he needed. Small things like that matter. These are clearly very capable people who could work in many different fields--including human medicine--but they choose to care for pets, and it shows. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and would return again if needed. My one tip: call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.

Open space concept for procedures & surgery (!!) so you can be as involved as you want, with a small private room for me & the cat where much of her treatment and waiting happened. That reduced stress on her and we were never separated which I so appreciate. Her surgeon came up with plans A - C from least to most invasive . A failed, we moved on to B which worked beautifully so we avoided C = major surgery. I recommend VEG without reservation.
