This Vet's office DOES NOT take appointments AND does NOT take walk-ins. In order to get your pet seen, you have to log-on to their website at 8AM, put in all your information and wait for them to tell you what time of THAT day they'll see you. IT'S AN APPROXIMATION, not an appointment. This means if they are processing visits faster OR slower than expected, the time they'll see you will change. This all means that you have to set aside all plans for the day to accommodate THEM. You also need to check in with the website all day to see if things are on schedule, because as soon as they can see you in 30 minutes, they want you to get to their parking lot to wait until they text you to come in. If your pet is VERY sick, they'll tell you to go to an emergency hospital. This facility is lacking as well. They don't even have an ultrasound. It's also grungy and depressing. read more

I used to recommend this vet to everyone I know, but after Dr. Ehrman retired a noticeable shift happened. Quality of care is lacking, along with courteous staff. I waited for an hour and a half today only to walk out after getting no mention of slow service, need for others to be seen before me, etc. When I asked if the Dr would be in, I was told there was a remaining urgent visit to take place before me...this was after waiting for over an hour. I also had to walk past Dr. Schwartz' office twice to take my daughter to the bathroom & he was sitting at his desk both times. There's a difference between blindly waiting & being updated to allow customers the choice to wait or reschedule. We've been bringing pets to this clinic for close to 10 years, but I won't be back. **updating to add the passive aggressive & childlike letter I received today. I have a long history of bringing my pets to this vet office(10 years). I used to love it! Dr. Schwartz was there and showed true compassion when one of our German Shepherds suffered from seizures. My new shepherd has been battling skin issues for a few years now, he has been seen 3 times for stage 2 skin infections. I called to get a refill on two prescriptions in which the doctor agreed to filling, I waited a few weeks until I had the money together to get them filled. I called this morning to be told they want to see him AGAIN for the same issues before they can prescribe the medications. The medications work every single time and I had planned to get him the apoquel regularly after his back was cleared up from wounds from his constant itching. This was not even the doctors decision, it was the vet techs. The wait times are very long and I completely understand Dr. Schwartz is on overload!!! Prescribing the mediation like he originally agreed to would eliminate both mine and the doctors time and be more cost efficient for me at this time. The Vet here is terrible! If you tell a doctor your symptoms they run test, check different things to try to figure it out. This vet only took X-rays and said if she doesn't get better my Monday bring her back and we'll do exploratory surgery.. My girl, she never seen Monday. I took her 2 days letter to another office and she was put down the day after because her kidneys stopped working due to infection. I know the first Vet might have not saved her still but I would feel so much better if he would have checked different things. Plus she got swarmed with fleas from that office. I don't recommend at all. It's all about the money and not the care or treatment of my poor animal. read more

I used to love this vet. I got my oldest boy kitty fixed there about 6-7 years ago and they did amazing. But recently within the last 1-2 years I got my female cat fixed and come to find out cells were left behind so she had to get a second surgery my poor baby. Which it's possible and I'm not mad about it. But the fact that she had TWO surgeries and is still consistently going into heat after at least 6-8 months after her second surgery is crazy. And they want me to pay to get her checked out? Even more crazy, I'm pretty sure I paid enough the first time cuz this vet is by no means cheap. To top it off I had my third cat (male) fixed there after all that cuz I'm very forgiving. But he still sprays and still desires ... (you know) so idk if it's the vet or I'm just the unluckiest pet owner ever. But it's been so stressful! Even worse I paid good money for ZERO results. At least with my last two. Dr Shwartz & Dr Ehrman are both fantastic. I take all my cats here, I have 6. They don't take appointments, which I appreciate. I wait less time here than I did at my old vet when I actually had an appointment. The longest I've waited is 40 mi it can happen during those times when there are a lot of people there with their sick babies, they see everyone who's in their waiting room so, just relax and unwind and know they're doing their best to get to you. If you don't have the patience to wait your turn, you should go to a vet that ONLY takes appointments. NOW, let's get going on the review: During Covid my long-term vet was closed most of the time. When they finally did open they made you sit in your car and pass the pet off, psychotic Covid protocol for way too long but, whatever. Had one of my cat's come down with a bad urinary tract infection, called to see if I could get a quick appt to get her in and get the meds to clear it up. They said, "Well, we're booked out for the next two weeks, but, we can get ya in then". OH BY all means, lets just let the poor kitty suffer for two weeks. NOPE! This incident turned out to be a blessing for me because I found this awesome Animal Hospital and these awesome Vets and their pretty cool receptionists. They got me in ASAP, was less than a 15 minute wait, Kissa got checked out, a shot and we were on our way with meds in hand to get that nasty infection cleared up less than 24 hours she was so much better. Now fast forward a couple years I've been here several times (have 3 outdoor cats) and 3 inside so, there's an endless need for me to make the visit. After every appointment I leave grateful for all of them. NOW, here's Louie's story: Louie had mass on his side I mean a HUGE MASS, it started as a small frozen pea type bump when he was a kitten, never seemed to be anything to worry about and the vets all told me that. Then, at 6 years old that thing took off like wild fire and quickly covered Louie's side (the size of my hand from the tip of my finger to my wrist). They removed the mass on Wednesday, today is Friday, Louie is home, the wound is franken-kitty looking, he's sleeping in a crate next to my bed at night but, during the day he's free-wheelin' Louie and doing well. Walking around calmly in his little watermelon Elizabethan collar (no plastic cone of shame for big Lou). He's really comfortable, eating well, drinking plenty of water, using the litter box all (honestly) better than before the operation and IT'S ONLY been 2 days. I cannot THANK Dr. Shwartz & Dr. Ehrman enough. The photo of the scar looks horrible but, I can assure you Louie is doing AWESOME. The scar will heal and he'll be better than new within the next couple weeks.. Right now, already, he is fantastic. So Grateful that my old vet wouldn't, couldn't squeeze me in that day... Everything happens for a reason. I'm just sorry I didn't find these vets and this office years ago. Oh, and the surgery didn't bust the bank either. Oh, I must mention: When it was time to pick Louie up, the Receptionist (so bummed I forgot her name), she was so kind, asked me if I wanted to go back and get Louie with her, I did so, we went in the back OMG SO SPOTLESS and nice and calm back there. There were several pets in crates, the area they were in was warm, and clean and quiet and just the kind of place you would want to know that your little fur-baby was as they recoup. I was so impressed; I love knowing that's where Louie spent his night away from home. I had visions of him being afraid and dogs barking and people being noisy, and cold, I assure you it was the opposite of all of that. And, that this is an animal HOSPITAL and not just a reg Vet's office, she let me know that the pets are not left alone overnight when they stay (as they are at most vets), someone is there with them to be sure they are safe and comfortable. I'd never go anywhere else, love everything about this office. It's an older building so, it's not all showy and new like some but, I bet it's cleaner than many of those. You can keep your upscale decor, I'll take awesome vets and awesome staff ANY DAY! THANK YOU!!! So grateful for everyone here. And so is Louie, if I can figure out how to do it, I'll add a photo or video but, trust me Louie is doing fantastic thanks to the awesome care he received at this fabulous Animal Hospital. read more

This doctor has saved two of my rat terriers lives. One was accidentally poisoned by ant killer(a bigger dog bit through a very old metal ant trap). The doctor had poison control, himself, and I on the phone to figure it out. That was almost 20 years ago. I have a rescue rat that was have problems where she was extremely whining and would bc lethargic. Her blood work was OK. We did a xray, and previous owners had told me after she lost her pups, that she was hit by a car. They didn't tell me they left it to heal on its own. She has problems passing stool. Doc was WONDERFUL! He worked with me until we found something that worked. I thought I was going to have to put her down. She was really hurting. They gave me the paw print which had her name and print on it I left and went home only to start the baking process of the print and to find out they spelled her name wrong. I was pissed and upset bit they were very quick to take it back and fix the name. Now for the remains I have heard from a few people that they suspect they were given random ashe's from another animal. I would love to poll previous employee's on this issue. If you love your pet, you shouldn't send them here. My mother trusted them to care for her two dogs for 6 days. First of all, they tried to excessively over charge her for their stay. Secondly, they gave flu immunizations without her consent. She noticed the boy looked scruffier than usual but didn't think much of it. After picking them up, she and my sister proceeded to go and give them baths and noticed the boy had an open wound on his back! They obviously tried cleaned him up and just hoped she wouldn't notice. Dr Ehrman was very rough with my cat when I brought her in for shots. I had her in her carrier and as he and I were talking he grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and yanked her out of her carrier! I told him I could have gotten her out myself or he could have been more gentle. She was shaking and on the way home she peed in her carrier and she had never done that before. She was so traumatized she sometimes doesn't use her litter box and she shakes sometimes. She was not able to be groomed, she was too stressed. I had to take her to another vet to have her sedated to be groomed and have her nails clipped. It was very expensive and I really dont like her to be sedated. I'm hoping as time goes on she will calm down and not need sedation every time she needs grooming. I just don't understand how someone who works with animals could be so rough! read more

Awesome thoughtful caring staff and doctors!!!! Dr Ehrmann was direct and pleasant and kind while ensuring you are taking best care of your pet. They all went above and beyond to help a 17 year old car they had never seen before. I got in within 5 minutes of arriving and left with my cat within 30 minutes of arrival after her being seen by doctor and tested for uti and then given antibiotic injection. It was seamless and felt like load lifted off shoulders. Thank you all so much for your sincere warmth...you have no idea how appreciated you all are. read more

I brought in my 10yr old Pomeranian tonight. I am so disgusted by the way I was treated by Dr. Ehrman, I will never come to this vet again. That Dr needs to take a refresher on bed side manner. Never ever use the Vet Hospital on Miller Rd. They gave me a wet unfinished paw print of my dog which I paid for and told me to bake it at home. When I asked for a refund he refused stating he would take it home and bake it and I could come back. When I told him I'm 7 mths pregnant and coming once was hard enough and I'd prefer not to come again he told me fine refund her and refuse future services since $15 dollars means so much to her. I started taking my Manx to see Dr Schwarts about 2 years ago. At first the little things bothered me (incorrect birthdate for him and his breed), not much to complain about in the beginning..but the worst was yet to come. Last week we took him in because he was limping. Schwarts gave him a small checkup and a steroid shot and said come back tomorrow for xrays and tests..which would be a Friday. We bring him in and are told we will be called when he's ready for pick up. Hours go by and nobody calls. My fiancee calls to see if he was ready. Schwarts charges us $400, didn't show the xrays and prescribes my cat a steroid pill a nd amoxicillin, just saying he has nerve damage. My cat got worse...even on the medicines, being confined to one room, massages...I started questioning if they even looked at my baby. The other night he had a hard time getting into his litter box,i modified it for the night and called another vet (Cross on Hill rd) and got him in. This doctor does an actual physical in front of us, and let's us have it. Schwarts should have told us that he would have a 10% chance being independent again even on the medicine, the damage was too bad. why couldnt you tell us that from the get go?!?On top of that AMOXICILLIN?? that's for infections and colds...i brought you a cat with a limp leg, not a sick one!!!.My boy didn't have a chance. Horrible horrible place. NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. I took my dog to get his annual shots and a nail trim and they had me leave him there for one which I already thought was weird. No other vet I've been to has done this. Then when I come back to get him he looks so scared and was so anxious to leave. Once we got to the car I noticed his nails are cut so terribly and two of them ARE SPLIT!!! Bleeding all over the car. I go back in and say something and they're like "Well there isn't any blood in the hallway..." After telling me they have a powder to make it stop. So they obviously could have already put it on his nails and it came off while on the way to the car. I'm highly disappointed and sad for my baby. I will NEVER return. The owner/vet lacks gratitude for the customers that pay him for his services. He's also seems rude, arrogant and somewhat childish. This his my first experience with this business. It's a Friday of a holiday weekend. My cat has an eye emergency. My vet plus the emergency vet clinic is closed for four days. I call all over the city to find a vet to look at my cat. No luck until I call the Vet Medical Hospital. First come. First served. Two hours of waiting and I get in to see the owner/vet. His first questions: "Why aren't you seeing your own vet? Why aren't you going to Auburn Hills for emergency care? Isn't it worth it? I should close my practice on holiday weekends like everyone else, he smirks at me." I asked him if he is saying that I should not have come into his office. He throws up his hands almost frightened saying. "Oh no. Just having conversation." He addressed my cat's issues. Before leaving, he says my cat is a little heavy. "She may have gained a little weight," I say. He points at my chest and says, "A lot of people gain weight as they get older." He quickly turned his back on me and walked away. Shocked surprise took over. I could think of nothing to say. He spoke to me over his back. Stay here and the girl will come in to collect the payment. He walked out. Shortly afterward, I heard him yell out, "We are not an animal emergency hospital!" Best vets in Genesee County!! Prices are super reasonable too! I highly recommend this office I take my cat there and I'm always able to get her in the same day. The vets are honest and never pressure you in to services that are not necessary. The are not in it for the money like some vets. The office is simple and clean. If you're looking for an expensive upscale, ritzy office this isn't the place for you. However if you're looking for great prices, great vets and great service you can't go wrong.
