Never have I found a more professional vet then Dr Buchoff in NJ.... No one battled with me like certain vets did at home. . Being a RN I watch things differently then the general public. so I am very satisfied with Valley, and all my other pets (RIP) also...sadly missed.

A couple of years ago, my pet had his eye removed and a prosthetic put in. Recently, he had a terrible fall that dislodged the prosthetic, causing him intense pain and severe swelling. He was completely lethargic and not himself--it was a terrifying medical emergency, which is why we rushed him to this clinic. We arrived at 6:30 PM, gave them the rundown, and the receptionist explicitly told us we were second in line. What followed was six hours of absolute agony and disrespect. After two hours of total silence, we checked in only to be told we were "next." We then sat there until 12:00 AM--six full hours of being ignored. To make a horrible situation worse, we watched other people come in long after us with far less serious injuries and get taken straight back while my pet sat there suffering. All of this happened in a miserable environment with a broken AC unit, leaving us to sweat in a hot room, trapped in rock-hard, incredibly uncomfortable seats. When I finally realized they had no intention of actually seeing my pet and decided to leave, the woman at the front desk was incredibly nasty to me. It is completely unacceptable to leave a suffering animal in a waiting room for six hours with zero updates, only to catch an attitude when you finally break. I will never, ever bring a pet back here. Save yourself the heartbreak and go somewhere that actually cares.

Everything was very professional and thorough and I could tell they genuinely cared about my dog. All my questions were answered in detail. They gave me samples of the heartworm and flea medicine at no charge. I paid before I left the exam room and made my appointment for my next visit. This place is close to my house so I'm glad that it was so good. It's sad that a few people with petty issues gave them one star and it has driven down their entire rating. I thought the costs were reasonable and they deal with my pet insurance company. Five stars!

They also have made one house call. The care is top notch. The entire staff is knowledgeable and caring. They care for our cat as if she were one of their own. Prices are reasonable for needs, even housecalls. They have plenty of pet meds, foods, etc. One thing we really like is they always give a follow-up phone call the day after to make sure our cat is doing good. I couldn't get him to take because he was so sick.. we ended up at Winchester Animal Hospital on December 19th. Dr. Duke took some took an x-ray determined he had mycoplasma in addition to pneumonia. I asked her if he was going to die. She said it was a possibility because he was a very sick dog. We received the best care and our follow up visit was today. It was all we could talk about was how well he was doing. He looks like a completely different dog. He's gonna continue on medication for two more weeks, but he's on the mend and it's because Winchester Animal Hospital gave him the care he needed. Julie Marsh

They went corporate which is a big big downfall for this vet. The staff don't even realize that their own services INCLUDE emergency care visits!!!! IT states on their website plainly!!! they refused me a few times for emergency care with excuses of" we are booked solid" and we close at 6!!!!"" and you have to bring your pet to the EMERGENcy vet."....just to walk into that place is 100 bucks!!!! These vets know they are crooks and tend to leach on your emotions at the time you need help for your loving pet. And the corporational ones are much worse..... Its wrong , inhumane and downright evil for people that are supposed to care for your pet at a emergency. They seemed to use my cats AGE too as a reason for not giving him an enema. As a Geriatric RN I already knew the risks....my own Mothers colon burst but it wasn't from food impaction it was from the horrid drugs that killed her intestines......... either way.?..I am well aware of the risks but the cat would either be put under for surgery and not survive it or die from a burst colon without it!!! so what choice is there?...ONLY GOD knows this. One of his patients, an older basset hound, was lost and decided to spend the day at my house. I found the office phone number on the rabies vaccination tag so I called. Dr. Salem answered the phone right away and looked up the information to contact the owners. He seemed genuinely concerned and was extremely helpful, even asking for a follow up call when Oscar went back to his family.

He gave us the wrong medication which would have shut down our cats liver. We had to have a 2nd amputation *With a different GOOD VET*, and he did not give any pain medication to our cat, on top of it, he told us to apply an alcohol spray directly onto our dear cats open wound. On top of it, he scraped dead skin down to the bone without sedating our cat, our cat was writhing in agony insane from the pain. This is an absolute horror story. On top of this the vet has yelled at our family members who ask any questions. Our cat is now making a full recovery after taking her to a real vet, a good one. BEWARE DO NOT RISK IT We tried to take him to court, and each time a lawyer showed up and had the case delayed over and over, and we cannot afford to keep driving to richmond va where the cases like this are held. It turns out that after going to another animal hospital that this establishment is well known for poor treatment and misdiagnosis of animals.
