My husband and I used Vets move Junk as we moved out of our home. It was very easy to reach them through Yelp and Mike gave me an estimated price range for the items I listed in my request. We scheduled a day and time a few days out. Because our house is hard to find, I sent Mike a text to send to the drivers to find us and told them we live up a steep hill. The previous group we tried to use could not get their truck up our driveway so we are always concerned. The day of, Aaron had called me to let me know they were running 2 hours early. We had a little bit of phone tag but eventually we connected and coordinated a new time. My husband said when he met the 2 guys, they were super friendly and got to work immediately. We had 2 sets of mattresses and an armoire that they grabbed from our house and used a sledgehammer to break down anything they could. You pay for the size of the load so it's nice that they do that. We had 2 big piles in our driveway they took and were able to get their truck up the steep hill, which is a feat in itself. In the end we paid them $600 which we felt was just a tad bit pricey compared to 2 other companies we've used but we liked supporting veterans. The 4 stars versus 5 is because of that and also the fact that they were so early. It all worked out in the end, but because we didn't live at the house and we had coordinated the scheduled arrival time with our work, it was unexpected and a little more difficult for my husband to accommodate meeting them. Overall, we felt they were professional, and the 2 guys that came out (Aaron and ??) were friendly and very efficient (less than an hour to fill 20 yards). read more

In looking at my pile they quoted my 3/4 of a truck but after they filled it up they came back and lowered my quote bc it was only half a truck. Go With The Best! My wife and I are in our 60s and are planning to retire in Stockton, so we needed to get rid of furniture and household items that we weren't planning to keep. I called several companies, but each required that I actually move the furniture and household items in front of the garage myself before they would be willing to haul it all away. After reading several Yelp reviews without success, I found that Vets Move Junk was the only junk hauling company who were actually willing to come into the house able to haul away furniture like a kitchen table and a king size bed without an issue. I also have to say that Vets Move Junk were also very reasonably priced compared to the junk hauling companies, and the crew that performed the work were very professional and courteous while doing their work. Made an appointment for the coming weekend (yay for being available on fairly short notice!) and provided directions to my unit in the complex. Thankfully, the directions were listened to and used - doesn't always happen, as most often have to repeat them to a driver who is late from trying to figure it out. Very pleased. I hired them based upon the quote I received. When they arrived they said the price was incorrect (too low) and said they don't give an estimate without seeing it first (spa) but I showed him my confirmed email where I had specified the dimensions, and they stood by it. I would have given 5-star rating , but gave 4 instead based on the quote I received for other items I wanted hauled away (way too high). The workers were friendly and helpful. I contacted Vets Move Junk after we received a flyer in the mail. They were quick to schedule an appointment (I called on a Saturday and they said they could come Monday!) I was kind of vague about what all we had because my son kept adding to the pile in the garage but we didn't ask for a quote so not really important. They called when they were on their way and were early! They looked at what we had gave us a price then started and in a flash they were done. When all was gone we realized there were one or two things we forgot about they opened the truck back up and added the items! They were fast and courteous and we wouldn't hesitate to use their services again or to recommend them to friends or family! read more

I had some redwood fence boards and other miscellaneous items removed. The workers were showed as per the timeframe given. I gave a 4 rating because the fee charged was much higher than when I used the service before. The first time I was quoted a minimum fee of $169 just for showing up but the worker said that what I needed hauled wouldn't amount to more than $169 so that is what I paid. This 2nd time I was told that there is no basic fee for " just showing up" and that the fee is based on items needed to be removed. There should be more consistency. read more
