I contacted Vets Move Junk after we received a flyer in the mail. They were quick to schedule an appointment (I called on a Saturday and they said they could come Monday!) I was kind of vague about what all we had because my son kept adding to the pile in the garage but we didn't ask for a quote so not really important. They called when they were on their way and were early! They looked at what we had gave us a price then started and in a flash they were done. When all was gone we realized there were one or two things we forgot about they opened the truck back up and added the items! I had some redwood fence boards and other miscellaneous items removed. The workers were showed as per the timeframe given. I gave a 4 rating because the fee charged was much higher than when I used the service before. The first time I was quoted a minimum fee of $169 just for showing up but the worker said that what I needed hauled wouldn't amount to more than $169 so that is what I paid. This 2nd time I was told that there is no basic fee for " just showing up" and that the fee is based on items needed to be removed. There should be more consistency. read more

I called on Friday, and on Sunday, two respectable young men arrived on time, taking away more than I had originally described, including a washer and dryer, a vehicle bench, construction debris and miscellaneous boxed household junk. This was my first time using Vets Move Junk although I have used two other companies in our area in the past. The VMJ staff who came today (a bit early, but I was home) could not have been more pleasant and professional. The best staff of companies I have used. I had all of our stuff in the driveway, making it a relatively easy job. They made quick work of it. I was a little surprised at the price which was more than I had expected - $349* for 3/8th of a load (just under half a load). While I knew VMJ would beat the I Got Junk people, I was hoping they would also beat A&J Hauling. But at least in my experience, A&J Hauling is still more competitive. They charged me $160 a year ago for a comparable load. The rate I paid to VMJ is curious considering a full load was $679 for another 2018 VMJ client. By the math, my cost ought to have been more like $255.00 and not $350 (ie. 3/8th is 37.5% of a full load @ $679 is equal to $255.00 and not $350). I would be grateful if VMJ could address this disparity. read more
