Our dog was lost after an automobile accident, and two young women found him and took him to West Boca Veterinary Center to see if he was chipped. The staff read the chip and called the secondary contact person in Arizona, who notified us in Miami. We came to pick Django up the following day. The staff had fed him and checked him out, and treated him with great affection and care. The energy in this place is so positive and wonderful; you can tell they all love animals. When I asked whether I owed them anything, the answer was "no". They were just happy to reunite us with Django! If they weren't 60 miles from where I live, they would absolutely be my go-to vet...they care. Thank you, West Boca Veterinary Center...you are fantastic. read more

Overall, the staff is nice and the location is clean. However, my dog was misdiagnosed by a old time vet that was apparently working there "part time"and isn't even listed on their website as "part of the team". My dog had a really small growth on her forehead that this vet presumed to be a "wart". Told me a biopsy wasn't needed and to "keep an eye on it". Long story short - it grew, I took her back in, had a biopsy done and it turned out to be melanoma cancer. It's one thing to pretend you can know what a growth is just by looking at it, but to actually state it's a wart when you don't know for sure is negligent. Because I waited and trusted his word - when it came time to surgically remove it they were unable to get clean margins due to the location of it. Had we removed it when it was first noticed then it's highly likely we could have had clean margins since it was much smaller when I initially took her in to get it checked. I no longer go to this practice but wanted to share my experience. Always trust your instincts - get growths biopsied and don't just trust some old timers dismissive advice because he "should" know what he's talking about. Handing a patient off to some random doctor is also not good business - if you're taking on too many patients to allow patients continued care by the doctor they typically see then maybe it's time to revisit how many patients you are taking on. read more

This is the worst Vet in Boca. The staff is incompetent. They tried to charge me 700 for a FAVAN antibody test. When I called the lab the lab said the test was $85.00. I called three different veterinary offices in Boca Raton and they quoted me between 225-350. They are very dishonest and couldn't give a clear answer on why the price was so inflated and would not give me the break down on pricing. Terrible service and terrible employees. I have been using this vet for 5 years for my 13 year old havanesse. I also have an active wellness plan through this vet for this pet. At a very high price. I called from out of town because I was having a problem with my dog. The office could not have been ruder, telling me wellness plan does not mean service and they cannot help me and go see a vet where I am. Cannot help me with medication or a vet and hung up on me! Lila had been a patient here for over 12 years. I recall they were new in West Boca and i was interviewing vets as i was getting a new pup. They were friendly, had degrees from respected veterinary programs and had a clean facility. We travel 40 minutes so that she can see Dr Keuhnel for all her care. She is a golden doodle. I have always found the staff efficient and kind (although the front desk can forget you-so speak up). Dr. K is always willing to talk about alternatives (natural) therapies and listens to my woes about different foods. He gives sound advice and listens, as well as challenging my thinking. She wouldn't stop bleeding and West Boca Vet let us come in and they gave her some quick stop all in the span of like 2 minutes. And we had never been there before! I appreciate them for helping us. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS HORRIFIC VETERINARY HOSPITAL! If I could give negative reviews, this veterinary center would receive a grade of negative ten thousand. Their negligence KILLED my service animal. On the other hand, I would recommend this place if: 1. You want to be treated poorly by the front desk staff. 2. You want to be put on hold for 25 minutes each and every time that you call. 3. You want a rude practice manager to stick her fat, nasty finger in your face as she "sets your expectations" regarding their rudeness and incompetency. 4. You want to be consistently, repeatedly overcharged for everything - including things that you tell them that you don't want or need, like $35 for a used paper cone to take your dog home, when you tell them that you have her cone in the car. No response to complaint; refused to refund. 5. The veterinarians are lazy and misdiagnose, then disappear and refuse to cover for each other. 6. Misdiagnosis of a liver mass as a "thyroid problem". I blame Dr. D for my dead dog's suffering and her untimely death. Terrible vet; horrible and negligent animal care. Avoid. Avoid. She is a terrible vet with a lazy attitude. AVOID DR. DEATH! 7. Complete and total rip off by these entitled women who disrespect clients and misdiagnose our fur babies. There is a place in hell for these snotty, incompetent women. 8. We brought our new kitten in to get a check up and spayed - although she seemed to be well cared for, the office is a bit disorganized. They forgot we were in the room waiting for almost 20 minutes, and although we spoke to the vet on the phone we never actually got to meet them. Kind of odd for a new patient. Lastly, we spent $625 to have our "free" kitten examined and spayed ... which was triple what we paid for our 100lb. dog at another local vet. If the sticker shock wasn't bad enough, it turns out Peggy Adam's offers the spay for free. Next time, we'll do more research when it comes to services and pricing before coming back. read more

Then suggested 2 three year shots which I loved along with here exam . They trimmed her nails , took my insurance . Filed the claim and it was half the cost of the other vet ! I had a stray cat coming to my house for two years and fed it on a regular basis. After some time I gained its confidence and he let me pet him and pick him up so I decided to catch him to take him into my home. The day I got him I did not have an appointment and had no place to take him to get checked out until I contacted West Boca Vet. They told me to just come in and they will take care of him. So off I went and in one hour I was in and out. Everyone there was so friendly and happy to help and now the puddy cat has a new home thanks to these people. read more

This vet office has throughly impressed me. I'm from NYC and never expect service like West Boca Vet provided but even with my jaded opinion they far surpassed any service expectations. My pup hates the vet like most but all employees, techs, and the Vet herself were very friendly and kind. Made the visit fun even providing a pup pic for his profile and magnet for me to take home. Very straight forward with pricing, no surprises and they don't push for any up selling or unnecessary extras. They even provided a checkout "binder" with summary of services and suggested wellness plan for future visits. They gave my dog an extra few years with us with an aggressive heart disease treatment plan. I wanted to write a review for the boarding team-Haley Rebecca, Elizabeth and Jenna led by Samantha and Molly. They are wonderful. I would highly recommend boarding your pups there. Was so disappointed with the lack of empathy, compassion, and consideration for me and my dog. due to their limited hours I had to inconvenience fellow teachers, request time off from my principle to make an appointment for an infection my dog had. When stuck in traffic I respectfully called to say I would be a few minutes late only to be told I had to reschedule for another day. Really?? "Couldn't stay for me or would have to do it for everyone" even after speaking to management. No luck. I ended up with more then enough time to have made the appointment. No Thanks. For now, just updating that WBVC did check in with us regarding all of our expressed concerns, and did apologize for not immediately and clearly communicating with us in regard to every issue -- one of the vets was extremely apologetic and positive about addressing that particular issue, as well as thoroughly answering our underlying concerns and explaining what we could expect in terms of continued post-op recovery, and gave us his cell number just in case we had any new concerns. Full faith in WBVC restored...I know how difficult it is to admit something wasn't done exactly right (even just communicating), and I am very impressed and relieved that WBVC got on this ball. read more

I decided to give them a try and I'm extremely happy I did. Since I called them to get Luna in, until I left everyone there was amazing and sweet to Luna and treated us like valued customers! Mindy, Traci, and Dr. Kuehnel took care of Luna and I and they were all very helpful, knowledgable and friendly! They don't issue or do any test or exams that aren't needed and are not money hungry. I'm very disappointed with this Veterinary Center. I really wanted to like them. I made a point of calling and asking around for quotes because obviously- going to the vet is fucking expensive! My baby Charlie isn't getting any younger. He'd started limping which is obviously very concerning. We called around about X-rays and a checkup to figure out what was going on with him. I ended up going with these guys. Front desk was very kind, I felt the nurse wasn't a good listener but overall nice. The doc seemed kind of "intense". I appreciate the kindness, but that doesn't mean shit to me when you're smiling in my face and ripping me off at the same damn time! I was told it would be about $280, plus meds. Because Charlie was being difficult they had to sedate him. I was asked to come back within an hour. I got a call back from the doc about how he seemed to have arthritis and that he wanted to send the x-rays off to be looked at by a radiologist. I did not want this, but agreed to it because it seemed like something that needed to be done. I realized after the fact what a load of bullshit that was. They charged me an extra $75 for it and that was the last I ever heard about it. I come to pick up my dog and the bill has gone up to almost $400- plus they charged me for the meds. Never a-fucking-gain! I've heard from them ONCE since this check up. And that was just to make sure medication was going well. Did they call to tell me they found something- if anything on Charlie's x-rays? Hell no! So what was the point of sending them off? Other than to charge me out the ass! I'm done with vets in South Florida. DONE! read more

Extremely pleased with the welcome greeting of the front office. This was my first time visiting and was welcomed with a warm hello that led to being asked the names of the pets. The sign up front said welcome to the new animals arriving, I thought that was a cute touch. The total appt time was easy under an hour for 2 dogs with getting a wellness exam and a quick shot for allergies. The provider was extremely friendly and welcoming and was quick to view the dogs and see what needed to be done. Leaving at the end of the visit was just as nice as the greeting the tech was offering treats and paperwork all at the same time. I do love the lab on site and microscopes that are able to check in real time. The decor of the office was great, the waiting room felt comfortable and uplifting. read more
