Dr. Lavengco is by far the finest veterinarian we have ever met. When other doctors were basically giving up on our Maltese Lilly, Dr. Lavengco took charge. He made changes to her diet, prescribed a regiment of specific medications and ran a multitude of tests to monitor her progression over several months. The result has been nothing but amazing...Lilly is a new dog. She is now thriving and active at 11 years old. Our little miracle. The entire staff at CAH is made up of true animal lovers. It smells delightfully clean, there is ample space to sit , they take many forms of payments especially Care Credit which is what I used to cover my pet's expenses. Prices are affordable . I had my dog neutered, a procedure to remove urethral blockage , cystotomy , stayed over night , they fed him , walked him, blood work , and medications to take home for approx 4k. Hi, this is Bori, and you haven't heard from me in awhile. I wanted to let you know that my Daddy Den took me to Central Animal Hospital to get all my vaccines. I always go there, but wasn't there for about a year. I used to see Dr Stetzer but he retired. Now the place is different. They built a very big new building. And there is a big waiting area where I sat until the vet saw me. I liked the vet. He was from California and liked to surf. I never surfed but I like the beach. Cause I am from Puerto Rico. But let me get back to the topic. He was very kind. He said I had to lose some weight cause I'm more of a senior dog now. I didn't know I was a senior dog. I'm only 5 years old. Is that a senior? And my daddy Den walked around and saw the area where they keep the dogs who are going to board there, it was very clean and smelled good and had big comfy beds, I saw where I would get walked 4x a day and it was all grass and looked nice. But I had a problem after I got my vaccinations. I got a bump where the vet put the needle and then it spread and it hurt a lot, like hurt so much I could not walk on that leg, I was hopping on my three other legs, and when I got home my daddy Marc touched the spot and I screamed so loud he got scared. That night it hurt so much I didn't leave my bed. I don't think the vet did that to me on purpose because I didn't do anything bad to him. But he should have told my daddy when he was there with me that it might get swollen and hurt. My daddy got so worried that he took me back to the vet when he saw how I was walking and then the vet explained. I listened to everything he said, and I know he felt bad for me, but it was me who was hurting so much and all swollen. So next time your daddy or mommy takes you to any vet, make such they ask about any side effects if the vet gives you injection or medicine. Remind your daddy or mommy to ask. And then at least everyone will be prepared. I was ok by the next day and it was nice that the vet called to make sure I was ok. I think all my dog friends can go here and they will be ok. They advertised an in house internist. i called to make an appointment with same and was told I first has to see De Levenko (who actually owns the practice and sets policy). I had made an appointment with my vet for a test for $120. I was told I could see Levenko on Thursday and the specialist on Friday. They charged $970 for the same test, revealed that they had no specialist and never interpreted the results of the test, "out today" STAY AWAY. The guy should be in jail read more

I have been a customer since they opened and have had three dogs who have received vet services. Although I found them rather expensive their care was good and I so much as stated so in a previous review. Recently, while out of town I tried to renew my Simparica Trio prescription from Chewy and it was denied advising me to contact my vet. For those who aren't familiar with the procedure when you place an order with Chewy they send an EM to your VET for approval. Upon contacting Central Animal Hospital and advising them of the situation they advised me they could not approve the prescription until I brought in my dog for an exam. I advised them I would not be back home for a month and could they approve the request and then upon returning I would bring my dog in. They denied my request which surprised me under the circumstances considering the fact that my dog has been going there since he was a puppy nine years ago. I know that loosing me as a long time customer will not effect their bottom line but their actions under these circumstances were less than professional and reflects poorly on their business in my opinion. read more

A friend recommended Central before and I figured it was time to check it out. It was a small emergency(literally) as my pup had worms. I didn't want to use over the counter options off the internet as reviews said they don't work, so I hustled in to the clinic. I was helped right away by the gal in the front, and was expedited to a waiting room right away. The doc and nurse took a look at Augie and with a small sample taken confirmed the issue. They were kind throughout and helped things go smooth. They didn't push a bunch of extra charges on and they price matched a website to ensure a good price on the meds. Great hospital. Maybe I have a negative outlook on vets in general, but I hated taking my dog to the vet because I feel like they prey on your love for your animal and abuse that for monetary gain. Almost every vet I've been to I've felt that except this one. I do believe they care about the animals health. Like all businesses though I do think there is some sort of upcharge / upsell when you're there, but it's to be expected from certain employees. The main vet drs though have been terrific, I feel they care not only that day for my dog to get better, but weeks, even months later after the issue has been resolved they'll still bring it up and ask if everything ended up ok or they will mention my dog has improved since months ago. Minor things like that humanize the industry in my eyes, especially since I think it lacks in that world where the abuse the animal suffering in silence, central animal hospital truly do care for your pets well being, and wish, hope, and pray for there health. Our dogs have been coming here for a few YEARS for medical care and boarding. Not anymore! My dog was in there on the 8th of June because of our concern of our dog coughing. The Doc said his lung are clear and sent us on our way. That Friday both both spent the weekend as boarders and in their care, by Saturday the 19 our dog was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy with CHF at a Vet that took a moment to examine him. Lesson, avoid this place. They can dump millions into the practice and make it shiny and new. I'd much rather go to a skilled veterinarian in a old office than hack in a new one. Update: we've had 2 different vets in different practices give us the exact same diagnosis. Again avoid this office. read more

Dr Stetzler is amazing. My little white miniature schnauzer Krystal hurt her neck jumping off the bed when we first moved to S. Florida the end of April. We went to 3 different vets one which was a neurological vet. They kept giving meds, she was not improving and 2 informed me I needed to consider putting her to sleep in May due to her age (13yrs old). They said she needed surgery and would not make it and I was looking at up to 15k. I could not pay that. I have worked in neurology / neurosurgery for the last 15yrs. I knew what a C4-5 slip disk was and the symptoms. She was definitely exhibiting the symptoms and they were getting worst. I would not except putting her down when she was chasing squirrels the day before she jumped off the bed and hurt her neck. I kept pushing the docs there had to be something else. Finally we found Dr Stetzler through a friend / colleague and he saved Krystal's life! He adjusted her meds and worked with us. He too would not except this was the end of her. She's so sweet and loving! Still full of lots of energy! Thank God for Dr Stetzler! Within a short couple weeks of seeing him you cannot even tell she was ever injured. Krystal is back to barking at the ducks on our patio and wants to chase them but I won't let her lol read more

I wouldn't recommend this vet for any situation. I had such a bad experience with this clinic during Covid . The team is nice but I'm speechless of how much they care about your situation, or your pets condition . I brought my dog for a skin condition . The vet's diagnoses: flea infestation. He gave my dog a shot , several other medications and a shampoo that were the total itens included on the bill ( over 200$ ) . I took my dog home , gave him a bath but didn't see any flea ( maybe one ) , he was good again until the second week when everything started all over again . I shampoo him once more and noticed that he wasn't infested in the first place . It was allergy but not from a flea bite. Not only he was miss diagnosed but also they charge me 100% more on the medications I could bought online for 100% less if prescribed instead. During COVID and all situation we are passing through ???? I'm really upset to know how can people be so greedy and take advantage of other people's weakness. That's mind boggling the way they deal with clients. Check how much are you paying for your itens if you still choose going there. read more
