While recently on vacation, our dog Tigger had stopped eating, and his health seemed in decline. After almost 4 days of not eating, I bought a plane ticket back to Delray to have him seen at West Delray veterinary. Since I was arriving late in the afternoon, my husband called asking for an appointment to as Tigger seemed in distress. The first words I heard were, we are closing at 5 o'clock, and we have nothing available. He was irate and insisted he speak to someone in charge. a He was reluctantly offered an appointment. Upon arrival I met with the Doctor who upon examination, said his eyes were yellow, and he was possibly in liver failure. I asked what we could do to treat him and she insisted he needed fluids and additional care at a veterinary specialty clinic. Needless to say this came as a shock so obviously I had some questions. The doctor was impatient and almost seemed bothered. She only wanted me out of there. After all, I was reminded multiple times they were closing at 5 o'clock. Tigger was rushed to Wellington, where doctors eventually performed a CT scan and suggested surgery. We agreed this was the best course of action but unfortunately he passed hours after the procedure . Later that day I received a "text" from WDRV asking how he was and I told them of his passing. Hours later I received a follow up text offering condolences on what seemed a "form" letter filling in his name. Just another dog to them. But a loved member of our family gone to soon. Finally a few day later my husband spoke to the office director who said she was not only the director but actually a partner in the practice. Needless to say she said all the right things....apologized for the doctors harsh demeanor suggesting it was her way of relating the urgency of the situation. Frankly under the circumstances a little empathy and kindness would have gone a long way. She further asked my husband if he wouldn't mind if Dr Block would reach out as she was sure he would want to express his condolences and whatever thoughts of what had transpired. Two weeks gave gone by. Nothing from Dr Block. No call. No text No email. I will get another dog. And I will find another Vet. Tigger meant the world to us read more

My Maltese boy, Paddington Bear, who liked to jump if he saw animals on my flat panel TV. He jumped upto 5ft. into the air & developed a strain in his inner thigh muscle. His orthopedist referred us for physical therapy to West Delray Veterinary. There, Deana (an excellent therapist) worked with Padd, using several different modalities & gave me an at home proticol I could easily do to assist in his healing. This hospital is run by Dr. Bloch, who is board-certified in Rehabilitation. The front desk staff are friendly, the vet techs kind. Paddington has healed, thanks to this hospital. He's no longer jumping when he sees an animal on the wall-mounted TV at the end of our livingroom. And our going to this hospital reaped the fabulous reward of our meeting Dr. Nicole Patterson who became our vet of record for Padd & his two siblings. Recently our dog needed to have a cracked tooth extracted. We dropped him off in the morning and throughout the day, we received updates as to our dog's condition. We picked him up and took him home with a printout of care instructions and the required meds. The staff are friendly, the environment is clean and the doctors are caring. We visited West Delray Veterinary for the first time bringing my 20 year old gorgeous cat in for a visit to check his eyes. The office is very welcoming. The receptionist checked us in and put us in a private room to wait for Dr. Thomas. It didn't take long before she came in and reviewed what the process would be. She was upfront about the costs involved. Dr. Thomas took the blood pressure and blood work for Plutoand then reviewed the findings of the blood pressure. The bloodwork came in the following day and we were called with the results. Dr Thomas was wonderful and very upfront. Afterwords she referred us to cat ophthalmologists for further evaluation. If necessary, we will visit West DelRay Veterinary in the future. read more

I will never take a pet to another animal clinic - during my pets last year of life we worked with Dr.Bregman who was incredibly warm and attentive. She spent what I presume was much of her unpaid time coordinating with me via email about concerns I was having and was always willing to have a phone call. There were times where I'd even forget to respond to emails and she'd check in herself. During my last visit while we were saying goodbye to our sweet girl the front staff and all the vet techs were incredibly gracious and kind during the process. Unfortunately Dr. Bregman wasn't able to be there and Dr. Sherman supported us in the process. Dr. Sherman who was phenomenal and able to provide us with some messages that we needed to hear at the time. Two weeks later I recieved a handwritten note from the vets office as well as a note that there was a tree planted in my pups honor. The empathy and kindness that everyone in the office provided us will always have a special place in my heart. read more

Would give them 10 stars if possible! I had to rush my dog in with active seizures after coming into contact with a poisonous toad. The staff immediately took her back and started working on her. Dr Magram dropped everything to focus on her and had techs keep us updated during a very critical time. So glad my dog's neurologist referred us to West Delray Vet and Dr. Block. My pup came in with 5 slipped discs and was unable to walk. After just one visit with Dr. Block and one treatment of accupuncture and the laser therapy I saw a significant improvement in my dog. She did not appear to be in as much pain and she started regaining movement in her back legs. The staff and the Dr. are so friendly. Dr. Block explained the procedure to me and was very thorough. I have continued to bring Taffy to West DelRay Vet because the physical therapy is helping Taffy to move better. Taffy continues to look forward to her treatments (possibly she looks forward to the treats!) and is very comfortable here. I'm hopeful that, once the physical therapy rooms are renovated and the underwater treadmill installed, Taffy's comfort level will increase a bit more rapidly. Taffy's condition cannot be cured, but I'm confident that the treatment she is receiving will improve Taffy's quality of life. read more
