The announcement (https://www.queenbeessd.com/swign-dance) places the lesson at 6:30-7:30PM, the dance with DJ music is supposed to start at 7:30PM. On the day of my visit, the times were shifted by half an hour, so if you want to just dance, 8PM is the good time. The dance lesson by Mercedes Moore (yes, the great San Diego singer!) is excellent, most of the 20+ dancers appeared to be regulars and thus had accumulated significant amount of skill, yet due to small size of group, a true beginner should feel OK. Unlike most places in San Diego, this one has noticeably more leads (traditionally men) than follows (women), so this venue might be great for a true beginner follower. During the social party few more dancers appeared, but the group remained pretty small, and by 9PM it became hard to find a dance partner (the music was still going on). Some logistics: the free (street) parking is very limited. The best paid parking is across the street in a well-lit parking lot ($5 for two hours). The wooden floor is of OK quality, the seating is adequate for the small crowd. As always for small gatherings, bringing one's own dance partner is recommended, although on the day I have visited, it was easy for follows to find a lead. Overall: a true beginner follow should definitely check out this venue. An intermediate lead that wants just to dance, should consider bringing his own follower.

Most of the family ordered wagyu burgers. I went with an avocado bacon chicken sandwich on brioche for $15. The food was simple, but prepared well, in generous portions, and a reasonable price. Prices are going up; however, this is the case everywhere. The venue itself is on the smaller side, but it has a lot of character. I attended their soft launch, and the staff appeared to be very friendly. They had a live band perform, Alicia the Band, and they were great. They definitely got us all dancing and singing. This place has the potential to become the favorite local dive bar with all the great vibes. Unfortunately, they way tabs were handled put a damper on an otherwise fun night. My husband opened a tab and noticed a $250 charge pending on his card, in addition to the actual amount we spent. At the time, no one explained that this was an authorization hold, so naturally we were concerned. My friend, who was with a separate group, experienced the same thing. His group ordered 12 beers at $9 each (about $108 before tax and tip) and also saw a $250 pending charge. The pending charge remained for several days before it was eventually removed. In our case, the hold dropped off after four days. While I understand this was a soft launch and they are still working out the kinks, the unexpected authorization holds caught us off guard. A little communication upfront would have gone a long way in preventing the confusion. As I mentioned, I really the venue and what they are bringing to the area. They have great drink options, from local breweries to aesthetic cocktails, and they even allow you to bring in your own food, which is a great touch. The atmosphere, music and overall vibe were all great. Now that the authorization hold has been removed, I am relieved it wasn't an actual charge. My hope is that they either adjust how their payment system handles tabs or simply let customers know ahead of time that a temporary authorization hold may appear. I really would love to see this business succeed and look forward to coming back.

They know the key buzzwords however can't actually help with anything complex that is the VA. I had all sorts of issues with the VA side and they could do nothing to help with that. I would STRONGLY recommend using an accredited VSO (that is also free) over working with this organization. Plus the fees... Again, they did very little, couldn't help with the nearly 1 yr VA battle then want their cut. Run away, don't trust them and avoid at all costs. Seriously, cost. They charge an insane amount for their "service" Congress (I know, long shot) is trying to pass bills that would make these organizations either charge dramatically less or go away entirely.

The on e location that was the place that you could buy freshly baked bread and get fresh cakes made it was the Grove Bakery that was in the City of Lemon Grove since 1947 . The only bakery that you could see the many people that would come for coffee and doughnuts and the many fresh baked goods the beautiful cakes and the decorated wedding cakes that you could see when you walked in the door . The many cakes and the many different kids of baked cookies they would have in the display case there would be wedding couples that would come to taste cakes for weddings . The original owners of the bakery were from Holland and the history of the bakery has so much more History that with its ties after the war and the great creations the bakery had made . When you go by the old bakery you will see several historical murals that that show the true history and the many centuries that the city of Lemon Grove has been around the many people and the tribes that have been upon the land .
