She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. Instead of ending my trip at Nortico as previously planned, she helped me find a really cool new bar in Tijuana! Highly recommend.

Up top it was a little crowded near the edges where everyone was taking photos, but people moved around pretty quickly so it was still easy to get some really good pictures from the rooftop. I didn't order any drinks, so this review is based solely on the location and the views, but once you're up there it's just absolutely beautiful. It almost feels like you're walking into a speakeasy as you pass through this cool market-style space, then down a hallway lined with awesome artwork and classic Hollywood movie posters with a stoner twist before arriving upstairs. Once you're in the lounge, the vibes are immaculate. The décor is trendy, the wall art is incredible, and when I went, the DJ was absolutely killing it. I was Shazaming song after song because the playlist was that good. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Our hostess seated us right away, everyone was attentive, and the staff made the whole experience feel welcoming. Word of advice, get a reservation! You won't have to wait. The food was honestly better than I expected. If you go, you HAVE to order the Ahi Tuna Crispy Waffle. It was incredibly fresh, and the sweetness of the mango tied everything together perfectly. I also ordered the Wake & Bake Espresso which was delicious. One thing I really appreciated is that although I don't smoke, I never felt out of place. My friends were able to enjoy smoking at the table, and you can even order products to be brought upstairs (the upstairs selection is a bit smaller than what's available in the dispensary below, but it's still super convenient). As someone who doesn't consume THC, I was a little nervous about ordering a cocktail since they're served with a THC additive. Thankfully, the additive comes separately on the side, so you have complete control over whether you use it. I simply handed mine to a friend, and it completely took the pressure off. There is a $10 lounge cover, which I think is totally reasonable for the experience. If I remember correctly, it's waived with a dispensary purchase of $50 or more. Overall, Sessions on the Bay does an amazing job creating a space that's welcoming for everyone. Whether you're a regular cannabis consumer or you're simply there for the atmosphere, great food, drinks, music, and company, it's an awesome place to spend an evening. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to both my friends who partake and the ones who don't.

The ambiance is modern with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a gorgeous fire pit right in the middle of the patio which gives off nice heat without making your hair smell like firewood. It's the perfect place to grab a few drinks before heading down for your dinner reservation at Mision 19 but it's not a place I would seek out just to drink at for the night. The prices are very similar to the prices you would pay for cocktails in the states. Not overly expensive, just more expensive than other drink prices in Mexico. It was a bit dead when we arrived since it was fairly early in the night so I'd be curious to feel the vibe of the place when it's more packed.

I think IO more beautiful at night, so we were looking forward to it nonetheless. We arrived around 8 and ordered a bottle of wine in the waiting area/courtyard ramp. Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. You can choose flavored salts and butters and sauces for the side. We also shared the pickled strawberry salad. It had lots of toppings, flavor, and textures. The pozole verde was also excellent.

What really keeps me coming back are the seasonal transformations. They go all out with the decorations, and during Christmas the entire restaurant feels completely transformed. It's one of the best holiday dining experiences in San Diego. The seasonal touches don't stop at the décor either. I like that they regularly introduce limited-time food and cocktail specials, so there's usually something new to try while still keeping some of their popular favorites on the menu. Everything I've ordered over multiple visits has been well prepared, and I haven't had a bad meal yet. It's definitely on the pricier side, so I see it more as a place for celebrations, date nights, or when you want a unique dining experience rather than an everyday meal. Between the food, drinks, and the incredible decorations, it feels worth it for those occasions. One piece of advice: make a reservation. This place is popular, especially during the holidays and other seasonal events, and tables fill up quickly.

But I had a few that were good, the boats and hoes, and keffir lime tequila drink were great.
