A long overdue update. Since my last review, I have referred a handful of old co-workers and a couple of family members to VCS. The choice to serve is personal. I hate being thanked for my service. Truth is, it is us that are grateful to citizens of this nation for the privilege of serving you. Why? Because so many of us sustain life changing injuries. Some critically. Who cares for us? You do. You and organizations like Veterans Compensation Services. Do they get paid to do it? Of course, fighting our fights takes money. But moreover, it takes people who genuinely love helping those of us who served and, unfortunately, were injured or suffered illnesses. This is not a business without heart and soul just reaching into pockets. What they put forth on our behalf is priceless and immeasurable in terms of value per dollar. Each person I have sent to VCS has been given the best effort to help them live better lives, getting the care from the Veterans Administration they deserved from day one. The VA is awesome, but sometimes, they need a nudge, other times a sledgehammer. VCS knows which version to use and when, and with great results. Want to go it alone, I get it, and good luck. But please, don't think you have no options. VCS has been in this with so many of us, it is as if they are one of us and all of us. Call them up. You have everything to gain. read more

If you want to be led on and not be told that they cant help, this is the place for you. So, I talked with their employee named Rick Raymond out of Oklahoma. He said I had a case and what he needed me to do. I did it. He said give it a week and the VA will have the results of my MD appt on va.gov. they did. He said to email him the info, but that he would be going on spring break the next week so I wo t get an i.mediate response. No problem. I waited and about 3 days after he was supposed to be back, I emailed him to see if he got the info. Didn't hear back. I waited another week and emailed him 2 more times. No response. The emails only required a yes or no. Not an in depth response. It wasn't until I emailed him stating that if he couldn't help me, the least he could have done is let me know. I finally got a response. Stating he had been busy. Now mind you, before spring break, he was very responsive. Phoning and emailing everyday for about 2 weeks. Now, this is for Jesse S, the business manager who responds saying their company has no idea who we are. Fantastic organization of people who truly believe in helping veterans. They answered every question along the whole process.

They sounded pretty good at first. I currently have a 60% disability rating. They said they thought they could get my rating increased to 70 or 80%. Great. But when I asked them several times what their fee to me would be if they were successful, radio silence. I don't work that way and told them that - numerous times. Despite having asked over and over again I never get the answer, but I keep getting calls asking me if I'd like to continue. It's called communication folks. And lack of same, as they say in the biz, ain't good. read more

I am truly conflicted in writing this business a review. In the end, they essentially achieved our goal when it came to VA disability increase. The road to the destination however was bumpy. A friend reccomend this company. He and a couple other veterans I know had a great, straightforward experience. After my initial paperwork was submitted to the company and VA (like an ITF), a few months went by without hearing from them. Getting a response from the company reps took a few days if not a full week, and I dealt with 3 or 4 individuals. When I heard back, they sent me the initial paperwork to fill out. Confused, I let them know that I had already filled this out. We moved forward with more paperwork and I did get a bit more of a heads up on a timeline. After a few months of more paperwork and a retainer fee, radio silence again. I felt forgotten as I had a few months before, again. As I awaited to be seen by a medical professional that they contract out to, the last day of my ITF came up. On the very last day of the year long ITF period, I get a call informing me that I have a Drs appointment. When I call them back after work, the medical staff informs me that the company submitted my paperwork that day. Also, I have an hour to get to my appointment that takes 2 hours to get to physically (no local office). When I notify the medical staff that I can't make it they let me know that its the last day of my ITF and to call the company and figure something out. Of course I contact the company and there was nothing to do but resubmit an ITF and wait some more (come to find out the VA didnt file a one even though I did). After four more months I finally got my new disability rating. Of course as soon as that came through (I notified them of it, not the other way around as expected) they were ready for their payment that same day and were great on communication. They thought that I had back pay to use but I had to remind them that I had none because they left the ITF expire so the money came out of my own savings not the usual back pay most clients get from the VA ( a whole years worth would have made a difference). I was not allowed to make payments, but I was given until the next day to pay in order to "figure something out". It is a shame that these companies exist because of the way the VA operates. I just happened to have not the best of experience in my case. My suggestions are that communication be consistent and clearer and during the process. Veterans dont know the ins and outs of the VA, thats why we come to you. Best of luck to all going through the same issues so many vets have. SF read more

Said they couldn't do anything for me at 10%. Went and got myself up to 90% by myself. They told me they couldn't take me multiple times.

I tried several times on my own to get 100% disability, but the VA just kept changing percentages. This company was able to answer all of my questions and always kept me informed through the whole process. They made the majority of the appointments from Tele-health which was very convenient since I can't drive. After they sent in my paper work to the VA, I received my 100% Permanent disability in less than a week. I would like to thank them for all of their skills and team work for making this possible. This is a typical response from a business who receives a low rating. I'm not on a campaign to try and smear your company name but to inform other customers (Veterans) of your lack of communication. This isn't the first time you've received a low rating due to lack of communication. So, for 9 months you couldn't inform me that you didn't have enough information to warrant further increases. Instead, you ignored all my phone calls and e-mails for updates and your staff could see that by the message trail they annotated. You had staff that were informing me that you were overwhelmed and couldn't handle the amount of claims you had so how can you say I was inpatient. I was patient with you since I waited over 9 months for you to catch up and have time to go over my medical records to give me some information. But you didn't keep in touch with me to let me know what was going on with my claims. The only time you responded was to ask for money, to apologize and ask for feedback so I gave it to you. Friendly in the beginning while they try to get you to sign up. Once the Medical appointments are scheduled you're left to figure things out yourself. $900+ dollars to watch videos and no one there to help you out before exams. Honestly better offer doing things yourself and saving the $900. Would be better if they had more people to talk you through things after you shell out the payment. read more
